As a Black Card member, I found this location spacious with enough machines for a small city—well kept and generally clean. However, the women’s showers were disappointing—dull, mildewy, and not well maintained. Standing barefoot on the grimy tiles made the experience unpleasant.

I really appreciate the recently changes made especially around the core and stretching area. It feels like there is more room for stretching. The staff is friendly and funny. Sometimes some areas are missing paper towels to wipe down the machines but that’s an easy fix. I will say though I’ve noticed some other gym members are inconsiderate and nasty because they walk away from machines without wiping it down. As if they didn’t dirty the area with their sweat come on people do better!

I had bought a membership for a friend that was trying to get on his feet so he would have a place to clean up. He quickly found a job and did not need the membership anymore. I tried to cancel his membership and was told it was taken care of.
My friend was struck by a driver killing him and his 3 dogs instantly one night while taking them across to Pershing square to pee. They literally landed on the entrance of Planet Hollywood.
About a month after I noticed I was still getting charged for his membership. It too me months to get them to stop charging me and only because I ended up canceling my bank account.

All had disinterested staff

All the locker rooms were a mess

There’s a woman with a buzz cut literately living inside the bathroom daily till the gym closed with all her luggages and carts and acts very annoying and possessive like she owns the bathroom and doesn’t want other to use “her” shower stall. Crazy this keeps happening everyday

I had a great experience when going to Planet Fitness. For the price, you can’t complain. Locked rooms, showers, plenty of equipment. Just keep in mind that it’s in an interesting area downtown. Otherwise, all good.

Theres only been one fully working rowing machine out if about six for over a year. The rest all have broken foot holders or pull bars, I've notified the staff multiple times. Very frustrating as its the only machine i use there. Please get it fixed.

Edit: can you give me a real response please? Not the "we're so concerned about your satisfaction" response you gave while providing no solution. Will you them fixed or not?

I signed up three years ago and then after three months I canceled my subscription because a man kept asking me to shower with him ever morning. He would also stare at me and stroke himself as I was showering and getting dressed. I then find out three years later they have been charging me still and the transactions have now added up to over $600. I called my bank, blocked their charges and then called them and asked to cancel AGAIN. They said they had two accounts under my name haha (HOW??) and they would cancel the second one, but u wouldn't be refunded. They canceled it but I didn't get a confirmation email. A few days later I was charged again. I called my bank and they said once they blocked the charges through my routing number they turned around and used my debit number! And my bank said Planet fitness is one of the number 1 reasons they get calls for Unauthorized transactions. Lol thought yall should know. I know have to change all my bank info.

Honestly I used to work out at Golds in downtown and La fitness. The reason why I switched is because both of those gyms were becoming increasingly more and more packed with little to no room to Lift. Weight times for machines were out of control. Planet fitness at this location is never that busy even at peak times. Working out here gets the job done and there is room for everyone.

I visited this Planet Fitness location in LA today, and it was an absolute disaster. As a Black Card member paying $24.99 per month plus a $49.00 annual fee, I expect a certain level of cleanliness, but this was the most disgusting gym I've ever encountered. There were cleaning papers stuffed into the crevices of most workout equipment, and the overall cleanliness was horrifying. But the worst part? The bathrooms. They were filthy beyond belief. I witnessed homeless people shaving their hair in the sink, with dandruff falling everywhere, and to top it off, someone had just put loads of garbage in the urinal.
Seriously, how does that even happen? It's common sense that a urinal isn't for that purpose. As a paying member, I expect basic cleanliness, and this was far from it. No matter how cheap the membership, a business should maintain hygiene standards—no exceptions. Germs and bacteria can cause serious harm, and this gym failed miserably in maintaining a safe environment. I was so disgusted that I rushed home, sanitized everything, and threw my clothes straight into the washer.
I understand that LA has a high homeless rate, and I have nothing against the homeless—I donate and support them regularly—but this is a gym, not a homeless shelter. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum for any business, and if Planet Fitness can’t uphold that standard, this location should not be in business. I’ll be reporting this location to the health department and canceling my membership. I'm done with Planet Fitness—time to find a gym that actually values cleanliness and its members.

I’m staying nearby for a month, and this one is a block away from me.
I’ve been twice now and everytime I end up leaving angry.
The issue is the clientele.
For the free weights they are always missing. The 10lbs to 30lbs. People take several sets and hog them for themselves, when they aren’t using them. I had to walk around the gym looking for the ones not restacked and someone took my bench.
Today this one woman had 5 sets. I asked if I could use the ones she wasn’t, using and she said no! Like seriously!
Wouldn’t even let me switch with her. Yesterday some guy had 3 sets and I had to practically beg to use the set he wasn’t using. People sitting on the floor texting, but not letting you use the machine they are next to!
I’ve been to 4 different PF and the clientele here is the absolute worst!
I think PF needs to have people sign something that lists gym etiquette once they sign up because this is ridiculous!
Luckily my home gym PF Van Nuys I don’t experience this. But I’m stuck at this one for a month.

Love this gym! Always clean and machines get repaired quickly. However, the stair masters are always breaking down with an error code. 3 out of 8 stair master machines work. I hope these get fixed soon!

UPDATE! The gym has gone downhill. The restroom are disgusting, only one functioning hand dryer. The urinal has finally been fixed as it was covered with a trash bag.
The hours has changed, no longer 24 hours. 5-11pm. Weekends are 7am-10pm -__-
Price has gone up to $15 a month. I wouldn’t recommend this club to anyone.
Planet fitness in the valley are much cleaner and are 24/7!

This location has only a few working lockers, because over 80% of the lockers have been cut open are broken into an never fixed period and I been going to downtown planet fitness for over two years and there's really no men's lockers available because of the lockers lock holes are cut open and the lockers are broken to store your belongings in the men's locker room

Planet fitness does not honor any cancellation unless you pay all the amount due . They force a company policy to its members and train their employees to say it’s part of the contract when it’s not . I read the contract and it doesn’t say I am legally bound to stay with them on a month to month contract, nor does it say that I have to pay anything before cancellation. I would not recommend. Even if you block them , they will charge your new card without permission. Which is against their own contract that states they will only charge the card you gave them initially. They say you can cancel online if you bought a membership online , but that is a lie . The system doesn’t allow you to cancel without paying. Which causes a continuous charge with a continuous membership that you don’t want .

I’m really not sure what people expect for $10/month but every time I’ve been here it’s tidy, equipment that is out of order is small in number, and changing rooms are fine, if nothing fancy. Though yes, a lot of lockers are broken.

I only really go for the cardio equipment with Apple Watch support which is great and something much more expensive gyms are often too cheap to buy, even on new machines. As long as they keep this cardio equipment they’ll have my subscription.
