Stayed in Napa for a short job and joined this gym. I thought I was saving money but really, you're better off paying a little more elsewhere for a much better experience. Planned on using this for 3 months and then leaving. When I left town and cancelled the membership, another month was charged even though I cancelled before my membership start date. On top of this, they charge an annual fee of $45 even if you only use the gym for 2-3 months. The gym's equipment is ok at best, and is often crowded and very little floor space. No free barbell weights available either, just smith machines. All in all, you'll spend the same amount of money at another local gym and get a far better experience.

One of the dirtiest gyms of planet fitness. Never any paper towels, soap never replaced, no toilet paper, or toilet covers. They never clean the floors. There's always 1 or 2 machines broken. The rest of the equipment is ripped, very small gym, not my favorite planet fitness.

First time at this PF location. It was packed at the time of day I went. Patrons were respectful, staff was friendly, and the areas I used appeared clean.

My one gripe, which is a food safety and public health issue is their drinking water. It smells and tastes of mildew. If you go to this gym you’d better fill up your water bottle before you go if you want clean, sanitary water foot drinking.

Several popular machines have been broken for weeks and zero effort has been put in to fix them. Despite always being crowded, no effort has been out into procuring more machines and phasing out old ones. The gym is usually dirty. I have been going here for over three years on and off and I have never once had a good experience. Terrible place. If you like working out I suggest literally any other gym. If you like standing around planet fitness is your place.

The showers are pretty disgusting and have mold growing near the ceilings and on all of the caulking. They definitely don’t get deep cleaned, If they even get cleaned at all. The weights and machines are usable but definitely showing their age. And the hours just make absolutely no sense. Why would you close at 7 PM on the weekends, But stay open 24 hours during the week. Not sure why this gym is so bad, the Planet Fitness’s in Fairfield and Vallejo are 5 times cleaner and nicer.

This gym is ok, the equipment is fine and the staff is friendly. My main issue is the cleanliness. Every time I go there it seems as if only one person is actively cleaning the rest just kinda stand at the front desk playing on their phones. The other day I was in the treadmill and I watched three employees with feather dusters walk in single file along the machines and just… bibbity boppity boop the machines barely touching anything. The squat machines have so much dirt on them I don’t think they’ve ever been cleaned. I go to other planet fitness’s and I see employees always moving things around and deep cleaning their equipment. If I was the owner I would do surprise inspections. Just sayin. Hope this helps

I returned to this club after about a year and a half of living somewhere else. In the time that I have been gone the maintenance in the gym has gone downhill.
The red and green lights in the express area have been malfunctioning for nearly two months maybe longer and have yet to be repaired. Pieces of equipment sit for weeks broken with pieces of paper taped to them claiming that they will be repaired soon.
There is very little done to deal with bad behavior like camping out on equipment fiddling with their phone or taking over a single machine in the express area for an hour.
Overall, I'm very disappointed.
Update:
I'm still a member because it is the closest gym to my house so I can walk there. The equipment is still frequently broken. About a quarter to a third of the equipment has signs on it out of service.

OK, so the only reason I went four stars on this is because it seemed that the young man at the front desk is new and was by himself so didn’t really know what to do.

We are all new at some point, but there should be someone that seasoned because I did wait around eventually the nice young man said hey feel free to walk around. Take a look. I know that Jim’s require a waiver just in case somebody gets hurt. I’m a business owner. I have multiple stores so I completely understand and appreciate that . I told the young man hey I’m letting you know about this waiver and I’m aware so if something happens, that’s on me.

Other than that, I would have done five stars because the gym is clean. It’s a smaller gym. I do love the uniformed workout equipment. They have an area where you get a quick 30 minute pump I like that they do sell energy drinks and other beverages I like that .

The stand up tanning beds are absolutely disgusting!!!!! They are NEVER cleaned or vacuumed. I have literally cleaned seaman off of the glass sides. GROSS!!! I clean the entire thing before going in and stand on a pile of paper towels there is a pile of body hair in the bottom! I pay extra monthly for tanning they should pay me! First time at this location. This 5-Star review is chiefly based on my experience with Selena and Savannah, the machines and equipment I used today, and the cursory walkthrough of the women's locker room.

👏🏽Wanted to give kudos to Selena and Savannah👏🏽

Selena was sweet and SUPER helpful with my MANY restart requests for the hydrobed before and after my workout.

I noticed and thanked Savannah for her diligence in going through the gym wiping down equipment and re-racking weights - which ought to be EVERY member's responsibility.

I'm forever grateful to professional staff that care for the cleanliness of their workplace and proactively see to the quality of their member's experience. These two lovely ladies are gems and deserve their public review flowers💐

I absolutely love that this location has the flat hydrobed option, and that they keep the massage area dimly lit and quiet for relaxation.

I did not walk the entire gym today, but what I did see, I noticed some machines that had out of order signs - hopefully their equipment maintenance crew will be on top of fixing them promptly. Thankfully, they had all the machines I wanted to use today in working order. I also noticed a couple machine seats where the cover was split open - those should be replaced.

Other than that, I'm very pleased with my first experience here and I look forward to returning😊

Passing though town, black card member. The women's locker room seemed clean on the surface. Small style stall shower, which is no biggie, except that the shower curtain was disgusting. So much mold and other substances, could be hygeine product, could be bodily fluid, caked all over the shower curtains. Clearly haven't been cleaned in ages. They need replacing STAT.

Also, no non slips mats outside the showers, floors so wet. First location I've ever been in that didn't have this safety measure. I've been to coins all over this state and up the West coast.

How has a manager not glanced inside the locker room occasionally to check on their team's cleaning standards?? Especially in a club that isn't open 24/7... plenty of empty hours to check/deep clean/ etc.

Expect to wait 15 minutes to half an hour for the bench press, dead lift, or squat rack. There’s also usually a wait to even access a basic bench for dumbbells. This happens even when this Planet Fitness is not busy.

People camp out on the Smith machines and dumbbell benches for long periods of time. Some don’t move off the bench or Smith machine for their entire workout, even if their sets don’t involve the bench or Smith machine.

There are only 4 dumbbell benches and 4 Smith machine racks.

Some of the benches are in bad shape with cracking and one, the material is worn through to the pad, which is kinda gross since it can’t be cleaned.

Planet Fitness has shortages of equipment that everyone uses, and a huge number of machines that nobody uses. They have one fly machine for chest and back. When it’s working, which it’s been out of service for weeks, it almost always has a wait (often 10 minutes). On the other hand, they have a row of ellipticals that are rarely used, that span the entire length of the gym.

For weights, this gym is crowded most of the time and because of campers, even when it isn’t crowded, wait times are long. They don’t make an effort to ensure people don’t camp. They don’t bring in the right amount of popular equipment that people regularly use and waste floor space on pieces nobody uses. This is why I’m trying out other gyms.

The goods: for me, this gym only costs $10 a month, plus some yearly dues. The people that work out here are great at putting free weights back where they belong and at wiping down the equipment. The place is clean. They have a huge variety of machines to do everything you want. They have something like 5 different types of ab machines. I hate screamers and weight droppers and this gym does a decent job of keeping this to a minimum.

Always "busy" in that even when empty, it is hard to get a machine. Folks camp out on machines while reading Instagram. Employees basically ensure you check-in, nothing more.

I felt so disheartened to know that PF Napa just collects items from member lockers and dumps it after 24hrs.They do not even put it in storage so members can claim it at least show dignity and value for their members and their items. I enjoyed this gym for the most part. However, when trying to cancel to take a break, an employee told me to cancel by the end of the month and I needed to fill out some paperwork, which he emailed me. I filled out the paperwork and emailed it back and then called by the end of the month to confirm. Later the annual charge showed up on my account. When I called back, I spoke with the GM (who I think he said his name was 'Chris') who flatly said he couldn't do anything about it. He said I needed to come in and cancel in-person. I explained to him a second time that that never came up before when I had talked to a previous employee. Also...if I had to cancel in-person, why is it not a problem that I cancel over the phone AFTER I had been charged my annual fee? I was polite and calm, but was aghast at his remarks that I should have cancelled a month earlier and that it didn't matter what his employee told me. I even offered the email exchange to prove I wasn't making this up and he was uninterested, uncaring, and made it clear to me that losing my business was unimportant to Planet Fitness. He refused to tell me who he reports to (I know Planet Fitnesses are franchised) and then hung up on me when I said I would try to find out. I work in customer service so I know there are a lot of terrible people who run into problems everywhere they go so I always take extra care to be reasonable and calm, which I remained the entire time during the conversation so I don't feel like his rudeness was warranted.

All things considered it's worth the very cheap price. Could use some heavier weights. Also it's confusing that they say it's a judgment free space and yet they have an alarm on the wall that they ring when someone uses proper form on a deadlift with a heavy weight. Also they have photos of cartoon characters crossed out of steroid like people who clearly suffer from insecurity and body dismorphia which is why they take steroids. It seems like bullying to me just at another angle. I think just let people be themselves if that's your intent. Gym Bros will be gym bros and in fact I think a lot of them are very helpful to others as they are so obsessed with the art form that they help others in the gym who lift with improper form. The world is strange these days. Big sign says no critics and yet they are being critical of a certain body type they view as not a victim but none of us know each others stories and I know plenty of guys who were tormented in high school which is why they turn to tren balogne. Food for thought.

My only con for this club is that 4 days out the week are not 24 hrs closing as early as 7pm on Sunday’s, my preference is night workouts. Facilities seemed OK. Expansion to new location increased available machines. The deal killer for me; despite a very reasonable $10 per month fee without contract, they denied my request to pay in cash or check. They wanted me to allow them to auto-deduct from my checking account. Oh yes. They don't provide towels without a fee to buy. I wonder how long its going to take the average person to leave towel at gym. Unnecessarily complicated, especially with the difficulties many have with halting the auto debit process. Keep it simple. You will have more business.

For the price Planet Fitness is a great gym and the people at the front seem to enjoy working there. I use to be at InShape. InShape was too expensive for the experience. (1) My stuff got stolen twice (2) I was talked into hiring a personal trainer for only 30 minute sessions - not an hour, (3) the women's locker room was always a mess. Towels and bathroom floor constantly wet and dirty. (4) The people who worked at InShape never seemed happy to work there. Planet Fitness is everything InShape is not; a much better atmosphere and price tag. I'm proud to support Planet Fitness.

The place is alright. Good considering the price. Half the staff don't have any idea when you ask them about pricing or cancel fees. Have run out of towels a few times in a couple weeks. All that's alright you get a little more then what you pay for. One thing that isn't so great is the calf machine they have is bad. Probably just get a seated calf raise. They could also clear out some space for deadlifts. Not just smith racks as those are for babies and always clogged up at happy hour by people who could use a million other ways to work some random isolation movement they are taking up the whole tower for. Also would have more adjustable cable based equipment and benches. Another thing is that their dumbbells go up to 75lbs I believe. They need to go up to at least 150lbs to not be discriminating against stronger people.

I was in the Napa area and happened to stumble upon this PF. The gym was clean and even though not as big as some others I've visited, it had all of the machines that I normally use during a workout. The staff could've been a little friendlier but the overall atmosphere was solid. The bathrooms were also unique and much different than any other PF I've visited before. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to stop in.

Shady business people and poor COVID protocols. They do not enforce their mask policy so there are constantly people working out without a mask on. As a result, I cancelled my membership and they proceeded to charge me after I had already cancelled my membership and said they had already processed the payment before my cancellation, even though the charge came through 4 days later. They then refused to give me a refund even though they admitted I shouldn't have been charged. When you cancel this membership, put a stop payment order on your bank account so that they can't do the same to you.

Just join Planet fitness yesterday, it is a good place to do the workout, every employee are very nice and helpful to show all the equipment how it work.

I recieved a free workout on line. This location in Napa just reopened. It had been temp closed. ( covid). So, it was clean and fresh smelling. Anyhow people were for the most part wearing there masks and wipeing down equipment after using. I felt safe. Got a good workout.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for six months, I have gone down there, I have called them, and have sent two letters stating I wanted to cancel my membership. The manager never returns phone calls, is never there when I go down there. They just say I’ll have my manager call you back, but they never do.

Wish I could give this place 4.5 stars. It is an amazing deal for the price you pay, and I especially like the option to use any PF with the black card membership. Justin, the trainer, is AMAZING, and it is incredible to be able to take advantage of him without extra charge. One complaint that I have is that my phone won't pick up the wifi signal there. The bigger problem is that there is not much enforcement of the 30 Minute Circuit area. I pretty much have to ask people to move every time I use it, and have never seen a staff member ask someone to follow the lights.
