I enjoy going to Planet Fitness. Not only because the location is walking distance from where I live, but also because the facility is very clean with lots of different workout equipment and machines. Also, as an elderly person, I feel comfortable there because the people on the staff are friendly and quite helpful. Also, most of the people I run into are respectful and nonjudgmental.

Just got off the phone and was assisted with linking my membership to the PF app but the customer service on the phone was rude and abrupt. I was abruptly put on hold without notice after describing my issue and once the issue was resolved, I said thank you and the person just hung up. If this is how everyone is treated by phone, they need some serious basic training on phone etiquette. I would have given a much higher rating if this had not happened.

This is a gym that has many weight machines, free trainers, ellipticals, treadmills, stair masters, bike machines , sitting down elliptical, etc. functional training, free weights, sepate room just for abs., just amazing amount of equipment. Machines are easy to adjust, air conditioning, huge fans overhead so you keep cool, all machines have b&w sticker you place yr camera on and it tells how to use the machine properly.
They want your feedback and I gave it and someone from PF called me up and said he values my feedback and will fix any requests.
TV’s are across this huge gym with closed caption for you to watch while working out. Plus they have security in the parking lot in Oaklands McArthur gym. And the place is clean! Housekeepers all over the place.
PF even gives back to the community to the teenagers to go to the gym free and keep out of trouble. I am impressed. All ages are there. Great price also.

Honestly, if 24-hour fitness was 24 hours like they used to be, I would go back. Planet fitness is okay for the price. Their missing equipment. The massage chairs are always having issues. When I have questions, some of the staff can't answer, or they all have different answers like their not all on the same page. Now that its summer way to many kids are in the gym because its free for them and alot of them are playing around on machines and the staff doesn't pay attention to that and it bothers me because I come straight from work. I try to get in and out and now its difficult to do that. Things need to be better.

Edited-sorry this review is for the Concord planet fitness.Judgement free zone? About the most judgmental zone I have been in a long time. Surely the enlightened ones know what's best for everyone, and clearly there's no place for anybody who wants to get in there just to get a shower in judging by the 34 times that the employee flush the toilet while I was in the shower. Rest assured the anti-homeless agenda is alive and well here. There is much more than that I could mention like the pebble throwing in the parking lot in the middle of the night but I won't give too much energy to the negativity. It's really sad when people with so many blessings and so much to be thankful for focus all their energy on hating people who are just down on their luck. Even with the way was living I still find plenty of reasons to be grateful and happy everyday. Nobody is better than anybody and all persons who give it deserve respect and decency and common courtesy. There is SO much more but I need to keep that hushy: I NEVER tip my hand, folks. Maybe it's just something in the water in Concord. Drink bottled..

In the morning and early afternoon I have no issue finding spots to do my workouts. Some machines do get crowded, and there are some folks sitting on their phones taking up machines too. The staff are very friendly, though I wish they would enforce the time limits.

The parking lot needs to have directional arrows painted on the floor for better traffic flow. There are none right now and many times you have cars driving opposite directions towards each other. You can't rely on common sense with parking. This will be a major relief and will lessen the possibility of accidents.

Planet Fitness (MacArthur) is very clean with many amenities and knowledgeable staff. The equipment is smartly arranged and well maintained. There are specific areas designated for stretching, core/abs, cardio, weight lifting, and a 30 minute circuit - complete body workout. In addition, you can sign up for free 30 minute sessions with a professional trainer. All of this is at a very affordable price.
If you decide to go for the premium Black Card membership, you can bring a guest for free, anytime. And last, but not least, you can relax on the hydra massage table, in the shiatsu massage chair, rejuvenate in the red light capsule, or sign up for a tan!
I really enjoy going to this gym with friendly staff and friendly clients.

The staff is great. Latrendea (pardon me if I misspelled her name) has been super friendly from day one. We recently started training with Jacquay (also pardon me if misspelled his name too). We have gone to many Planet Fitness gyms and they all have pros and cons but our home gym on Market is the one we go to most frequently. Everyone is helpful and friendly but these two really stand out.

If it were possible to leave a negative rating, I definitely would. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had as a customer in all my adult life. I’ve contacted this location endlessly since October 13th about my membership changes. I’ve contacted staff left multiple messages and never received one phone call back. everyone states that they’re going to contact a manager about my issue, but nothing has happened it’s a shame. Organizations take advantage of their customers. I will continue to spread the word about this company until my issue is resolved.

Editing my review, again: I am done with this gym. Not sure what I was expecting for $20/ month but I know better now. If McDonald’s opened a gym, it would look a lot like Planet Fitness.

Editing my review to mention that the men’s locker room has 10-15 lockers that had their lock loop ripped off. Effectively rendering the lockers useless.

I go here 3-4 nights a week and parking has become impossible. There are high schoolers who camp on the machines with their friends. All free weights are hoarded. The men’s locker room stinks like somebody lives there. The same young men also sit in the locker room like they’re waiting for the bell to ring. The best part is the “Limit 1” sign on the Tootsie Rolls.

Seriously, management needs to start paying attention because this place has become a free for all and I waver on cancelling my membership every time I go. I know you’ll say you never want your members having a less than stellar experience but I don’t see you trying to make it better.

Beware do not give your bank info to these fraudsters they will charge your account even if you end your gym membership which I did in April of 2020 when I moved to New York. Since then I have tried 100s of times to get them to stop charging me. My bank has blocked them they just alter the charge writing slightly and it goes through again. After almost 5 years I have to close my bank account to get these GD parasites to stop stealing from me. The employees are trained to take your money and to keep you from ending your membership. Asked them to cancel my membership due to physical illness but instead they "froze" my account while money continued to be taken out of my bank account. When called and tried to talk to them about it the employee who answered the phone said she couldn't find my account after numerous tries, but magically the same employee found it in first try when I had to bus there to talk to them in person (can't drive due to my physical condition). After that a big man behind the counter just started raising his voice at me for no reason and basically said no management would talk to me about my membership. So I thought I'd just call the manager later and straighten this out, later on came to find out the manager is always aways and never returns your call... but I did get a hold of someone who claimed to be the assistant manager. After an hour on the phone with him, he still refused to cancel my membership and refund the money they took out of my bank without my consent and knowledge. Instead he used an array of "perks" & rehearsed reasoning on why it'd be a better idea to keep the membership instead of canceling. Needless to say we reached no concensus and he promised to call me back after "talking to his boss"..
but of course that didn't happen, he went on a vacation instead and I have not heard from him or his manager ever since. Their whole system is designed to keep taking your money no matter how unethical it is and there's no leaving them without having your money taken one way or another, I have never had any problem like this when I was with 24 Hour Fitness, SF Fitness or any other gym when I was living in the city. It might come across as a cheaper option but it all evens out at the end so why not get better amenities & membership services by going ANYWHERE else??
