Dear Manager,

I have been an active member of your gym since 2022, along with my mother, sister, and husband. We consistently attend Monday through Saturday from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. This routine is essential to our day, as we head straight to work afterwards.

Today, April 30, 2025, at 6:30 a.m., I was forced to leave without showering because a staff member was cleaning the bathrooms during this peak time. While I appreciate cleanliness, this schedule is not appropriate, as many of us use the showers at that time. This situation caused delays in my day and left me feeling frustrated.

The employee performing the cleaning (a dark-skinned woman whose name was not provided) even approached my sister in a mocking tone, asking if she had taken a photo of her. My sister does not speak English and didn't understand what was happening, which I found unprofessional and unnecessary.

When I asked for the employee's name, both Miguel and Selena — the morning shift managers — refused to provide it. Miguel simply said that “it was the time she had,” despite the fact that the gym is clearly very busy at that time. When I mentioned I would report the situation to the manager, Brandon, he looked at me as if to say, “Tell whoever you want,” with no concern whatsoever.

I respectfully but firmly request that you reconsider the bathroom cleaning schedule, especially if this employee works the overnight shift — a time when there is far less client traffic. This change would benefit many loyal members and avoid incidents like the one we experienced today.

Thank you for your attention, and I hope this complaint is taken seriously.

I absolutely enjoyed the massage chairs! There were two types, and you receive a coin that gives you 10 minutes per session. I believe you can ask for additional coins if needed. This is a fantastic service after a workout 🏋️‍♀️

I am writing this letter to express my appreciation and gratitude for Emilio’s exceptional work. He always displays a willingness to help others. His friendly and approachable nature makes it nice to know him. As a Planet Fitness Member I have had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand the tremendous efforts and dedication he puts into his work, and I must say that I am impressed. I asked him one day why he was cleaning up something that his coworker left over night? He said “if I was coming here to workout I wouldn’t want to see that” I told him that was a very healthy attitude, and I know his manager will appreciate him for that.

Again, his professionalism, attention to detail, and strong work ethic are remarkable. For the time that I’ve been coming here, he consistently goes above and beyond in his role, and it has not gone unnoticed. His outstanding contributions have greatly impacted the members and we are very fortunate he is here.

I went to sign up and almost left because the lady at the front desk did not seem to know what she was doing nor did she seem to care. I kept having to ask standard questions that you'd think would have been told to me up front. A really poorly trained employee or a very lazy one. Very odd gym. Considering the fact it's located in the most dangerous cities of California it's not as dangerous as i thought but your time will be dangerously wasted here at the wrong time. The Smith machines are literally always in use by 3-5 to five people that usually take about 40-50 minutes doing all kinds of exercises on those things. For example I saw multiple people hogging up not only the smith machines but dumbbells too all the exact same time taking about 45-60 minutes. Not only working out but you'll see people cuddling at the smith machines,kids talking filming tik toks, all kinds of monkey business for up to 1 hour. Not only are the smith machines hogged up all the 45s are hogged up as well leaving nothing but the machines. It's gets very over cumbered here I mean overfilled with people so sometimes all the machines are taken too. They need to add more dumbbells, weights, etc.

Great place for beginners to start on their journey of health and fitness! I've been going for about 8 months now, and it honestly has been great! I've learned alot by asking others that have been there longer and have gained alot of muscle. I'd definitely recommend you use the planet fitness app to track your workouts and scan the machines to see how to use them if you don't know how. Super helpful. Only downside to this place is once you've hit your max weights on dumbells(75s) and barbells (60s) then you can't continue growing to heavier weight. Plus they don't have a lot of free weights aside from that. But I give them 4 stars because I have yet to find the perfect gym. The perfect gym will have everything you need aside from great service. And the guys at hegenburger location are great! Top notch and super chill.

Now I'm playing as fitness on hegenberger I definitely gave it a one-star because who wants to go to a gym and work out and come out just to have homeless people sleeping inside the parking lot some of the cars is abandoned in some of them is not the staff there at planet fitness comes out look doesn't really say anything I'm like people really don't want to pay to work out at your facility if you can't make sure that the outside is safe and that's my honest of you staff is lazy and I seen the security guard patrol around in his car just to go around the parking lot to do what get paid to do absolutely nothing

Always looking to try out a new Planet Fitness in the Bay Area and this one has now landed at the top of my list for best PF. It's quite large/spacious and the facility is always clean. They have every machine I could possibly need at a PF. The parking lot has plenty of parking spaces and the best thing about it is that it also has a Tesla supercharger. This is the best combination for someone who works out and owns a Tesla. The staff are also cool and can always answer any questions that I have.

They don't have good service and a lack of interest in helping to solve problems. My headphones just fell into an exercise machine a week ago I ask when I'll be able to get them back and they don't just say they don't know when. The unwillingness to be able to help is unbelievable. very sad and disappointed.

This location is good as a cardio gym (even though the machines do not have their own personal screens - tvs are hanging side-by-side off the ceiling), but as for weights, the options were lacking. I don't know if it's because of summer, teens get to work out for free, the after-work rush, or some other reason but it was very crowded and people had to lift very close to each other due to lack of space. Benches were very hard to come by, most free weights were in use so you have to take what you can get, and the same people were using the smith machines for almost 40 solid minutes (on their phones or doing 20 sets each apparently)...and then they didn't re-rack their weights. I saw very little wiping off of equipment and people playing music on their phones with no headphones.

I work out regularly at a Planet Fitness in SoCal and have visited several different locations when out of town. The layout of this one felt odd to me and as mentioned above, the gym etiquette needs work. Would recommend for cardio though. The parking lot had shattered glass in several spaces, so park with caution.

Great gym very diverse selection of equipment, I especially love that the hip abduction and abduction machines were in a comfortable location. The 30 min workout section, ab and pf 360 have taken the gym to another level. There are plenty of cardio machines to spare I would definitely recommend especially for the price. I do wish they would connect their life fitness machines but that's trivial.

I'm from Gary Indiana and was here for a day and a half waiting on my flight back to Chicago. This place is 3 blocks if that from LaQuinta Inn so I called to see the rates. Two incredibly helpful young people went out of their way to get me a free pass and make my life better for the next 4 hours or so. The place is antiseptic clean for a commercial gym and the clients were all very considerate towards each other. Brandon and Karrina were exceptionally efficient friendly memorable ambassadors of this establishment and I am indeed considering a membership as I travel extensively and these units seem to be about everywhere I am. I'm certain this is an exceptional place and the management staff is indeed fortunate as we the public to have such friendly helpful and exceedingly clean conscious staff to help keep their clients safe and happy. This gym also has a lot of good solid equipment in top shape to use. There is certainly something for everyone. California isn't dead yet. My hats off to Brandon and Karrina with sincere gratitude for making my stay in Oakland exceptional rather than just pleasant.

For the price of the membership planet fitness is a great value.

This location is usually less busy than Hayward. The parking spaces are small and people tend to park over the line a lot.

Outside of that they have everything you will need to gain, lose, or maintain... As long as you don't finish your workout with McDonald's, Taco Bell, or the Taco Truck that share the parking lot with the gym.
