I’ve been going there for a year now some of the people are kind like the cleaning lady’s but they let creepy men. In who follow girls around I bring one of them and you don’t feel safe telling staff because there usally really rude if your not fit like I’m trying to be that’s why I’m going to the gym honestly not a judgment free zone and I keep getting followed by a creep who’s always near woman and the bathrooms

This planet fitness location was the catalyst for why I switched to anytime fitness and am so happy about my decision!!

After reading some recent reviews about this planet fitness location it seems the staff still struggle with leaving their ego and judgements at the door. Not sure if Trinity (young, dark hair, lots of makeup) still works there, but she called the cops on me for eating a sandwich at the tables. I read other reviews about her (Trinity) going on power trips, calling the cops on members... if she hasn't been fired yet I would encourage the regional manager to part ways with her.

Overall planet fitness has become full of riff raff and gross... i went to over 40 planet fitness locations all across the US for 5 years... it used to be nice, open 24 hours a day friendly staff but my last few months with planet fitness were awful, it's known for vagrants using the restroom, smelly decrepit lockerrooms, incompetent/rude staff, weirdos causing a scene... at the Corona CA location a guy came in with an axe holding a member hostage(IT WAS ON THE NEWS! LOOK IT UP!!). At another location near LA I tried complimenting a guy for looking very happy but he took it the wrong way and started arguing with me... the place has gone downhill, and I would encourage anyone who can afford $20 extra a month to switch to anytime fitness!

PF is a unique experience for sure--not the greatest as far as equipment and literally no support bc the staff are not fitness professionals. But it's a place you can go and figure out how to make the most of it. Just know what you're doing. Staff are super sweet and as helpful and hospitable as they can be. Clean, predicable and always lots of space aside from a couple hours at night. Cheap.

I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I had on October 11th 2025 with the front desk staff. I arrived at the gym around 9:40 p.m., and although the gym closes at 10:00 p.m., the front desk lady Bernice was rude and did not allow me to work out.” She said I’m not allowing you to get in gym for a workout”In a rude manner.I asked repeatedly is it ok to workout until 10pm and she said that you cannot. I’ve been a member of this gym for the past 11 years, and I’ve never had an experience like the one I had today. When I tried to explain that the gym was still open, she spoke disrespectfully, which was very disappointing. Because of the way I was treated, I asked her to cancel my membership on the spot. she responded rudely and said, “Here you go, sign it. This will terminate your membership, and you’ll still be charged for one more month.”

I was shocked by her attitude and the lack of professionalism. After being a loyal member for over a decade, I didn’t expect to be treated this way.

I understand there are closing procedures, but I believe I should still be allowed to use the facility until closing time. The way the situation was handled felt unprofessional and discourteous.

I would appreciate it if this could be addressed so that members are treated respectfully and allowed to use their time fairly. I’m requesting that this incident be reviewed and that management address the poor customer service displayed.

I'm a fan of this location. The gym is spacious, and I'm impressed with the wide variety of equipment, from cardio and machines to free weights.

The Black Card Club is a standout feature, with a fantastic layout and plenty of space for the different amenities. And the place to hang your keys near the front desk is a clever idea.

The facility is consistently clean, and the staff is welcoming. Glenda at the front desk was particularly helpful and kind. While the locker rooms are a little dated (and no soap in the showers), the rest of the gym is in good condition.

I appreciate that you've been adding more free weights. As a suggestion for future additions, I would love to see some standalone barbells and squat racks to complement the Smith machines, which are very popular. Adding a sled and an indoor turf area would also be a fantastic improvement for the functional fitness sections.

Good hours and clean. Equipment maintenance has greatly improved. One of the Hip Abduction machines was broken at my last workout and fixed already this morning.

Now if they could only start managing the music volume in the morning. Way too loud from the larger number of people the night before. Fewer people means less sound absorption.

I like this gym a lot. My only complaint is people not wiping down the machines and cardio equipment after use. I’m not sure what can be done about this. People just need to understand that’s it’s nasty! We are there to get healthy and not take something home to our families. So don’t be lazy and disrespectful to others, clean up after yourself. Very disappointed in the way this business steals from there clients. I canceled mine and my daughters memberships because I moved to a city without a facility. I still got charged the $50 annual fee after I canceled because it wasn't 7 days prior to my annual charge. I no longer have an membership yest they charged me for the annual fee? Make that make sense. It is stealing from the people who keep you in business. I will never give them my business again.

Sexual harassment is a single edge sword at this location. I informed the staff that there was a Man full clothes who had been in the locker room since I arrived for 2 hours. He was staring and shifted to watch me undress in the showers. He positioned himself so he could watch the showers. He was on his phone while it charged in the bathroom for hours. They were hesitant to do anything. I insisted that they make him move or leave. They followed me in the bathroom and asked him to shift areas in the bathroom. He stated that he barely spoke English. I doubt that he is legal. He continued to watch me through the mirror as I prepared to leave. The staff made a mocking sound as I exited the door. The equipment is in good shape. The men's bathroom does not receive enough attention. The showers are dirty as well as the urinals appear as if they have not been cleaned over a year.

Yesterday at Planet Fitness, I experienced the most SHAMEFUL, HUMILIATING, DEGRADING Day of my life.
While using the massage chair, an employee rudely interrupted my session, saying, “Ma’am, you’ve been asked not to come here, so you need to leave before we call the police and have them escort you out.” I was shocked and confused. This is obviously a case of mistaken identity. I agreed to leave but asked for documentation about this so-called account so that I could follow up on a dispute during normal business hours. However, the staff escalated the situation and called the police instead of providing me with the documentation. The police arrived, and after telling the officer my side of the story, he informed the staff that I was willing to leave without further incident and urged the staff to print me the documentation so that I could continue the dispute outside the facility. Only then was the documentation provided, and I was on my way.
I made it clear that I would comply with the staff's request; however, they refused to cooperate. Why were the staff stalling for 30 minutes until the police arrived before they would provide me with the requested documentation? Perhaps they were hoping for a TikTok-worthy showdown between me and the cops? That’s instigation, confrontational, and inflammatory. The staff had NO interest and made NO effort to verify my identity and de-escalate the situation. This account is the super condensed version of yesterday's events due to the word count limit on reviews. However, I will end with this. I am deeply hurt and saddened by the treatment that I received yesterday, as well as disturbed by the lack of competency and professionalism exhibited by the staff. Expect a detailed email.

The location in Oceanside bivd is terrible I got accused of breaking a shower head when I was already taking a shower in a different stall the cleaning lady that works nights called the cops on me after yelling at me for no reason at all . and mentioned that I wasn’t a member when I have a black card membership but she couldn’t even do her job correctly like perhaps quit being nosy and clean the showers cause they are drastically dirty and stop accusing me when there’s not just one person reserved for the locker rooms and showers there are plenty of other women that use the restroom and take showers there , she has some person problem with me when I don’t even know the lady , It was so embarrassing having the cops escort me out for no dam reason at all. I should call my lawyer for discrimination . That lady should be fired honestly she came in the locker rooms yelling at me and calling me names for no reason while I was in the shower and scared the heck out of me .

Have not lived in California the past almost 3 years but have continued to pay my monthly membership fees until recently I’ve been out of work due to health conditions. I requested to not cancel, but to just freeze the account so I can save the monthly fees while I’m not working and the manager Yuliana said I need to send over a Dr’s note to freeze it?? I told her just cancel it, that is ridiculous. What is this, 6th grade??! None of your business what my health issues are! Terrible management, as I’ve paid hundreds the past few yrs and have not even used the membership. She could have froze it for a couple months and kept my business, but she’d rather make people mad and just lose our business all together. Good riddance!

This gym is filthy, everything is dirty. Nothing is clean. The windows are unkept, the floors, the equipment is all dirty and probably never cleaned. How could this be?

I signed up, but when I went some lazy chick named Amber was there I dont know why they have an anti people person working the front desk. Amber put me aside to help other people enroll when I was already to enroll myself. She wouldn't give me a tour of the place like Crystal told me they would when I spoke to her in the phone. Overall horrible sign up experience.

Still no hot water. I told them last time 2 weeks ago when I had to take a cold shower and couldn't suffer through it long enough to wash hair. This time I thought to check before working out. Really like this place. It's good if you are just wanting to do your own thing for your workout. Plenty of machines, equipment/gym area cleaned regularly. If you want personal training or lots of exercise class options, probably looking for a different type of gym.

Have been using both a location in Carlsbad and Oceanside for a while now; black card membership is a great deal and allows you to bring a workout buddy if you want.

First time visiting but the overall cleanliness seemed a bit lacking & the elliptical a little dated but the girl at the front desk was pleasant! In particular, the tanning bed was extremely dirty and it wasn't just whoever was in it before me but rather it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I understand it's the individuals' responsibility to wipe them down before/after use but I would assume there should be some oversight and cleaning on the staff's side as well. I scrubbed the bottom of the bed in room 1 but that took a while, the top is still needing attention 😬

I did the Carlsbad one 1st to stop after work. The parking lot was a bit sketchy at midnight so I started going to O'side Blvd. It is cozy, well kept and the staff are so friendly. When Mission opened I started going there. Loud, rude staff, leaking ceiling and frequently broken machine (especially the leg machines). I got kicked out of Mission for my Crocs. I have very arthritis and thickening foot joints. It is very hard for me to find shoes other than crocs. I'd been wearing them since I started. Oside Blvd will be my go to. Well kept and such nice staff.

I had a terrible experience from enrollment to a locker incident many months ago which I had kept quiet about then the manager emails after I unenrolled the same day thinking perhaps she cared enough to know what happened. Turns out, this company just wanted to spam me with emails and promos, and scammy gift cards.
So now, I am writing a review and sharing my experience. I was actually excited to enroll and start working out there. The day I enrolled, it was Destiny that assisted me. I was trying to get the top membership plan and was okay with paying the fees, but Destiny should have been knowledgeable about the enrollment process and not make customers feel dumb and confused.
The next issue was the locker. She told me that my bag was too big and I need to put it in the locker. I was given a lock to use. The lock wouldnt open despite many tries. I asked a couple of ladies who were in the womens locker/shower, but none could help as they said they dont use the lockers nor the lock. I went to the front to ask help. Destiny said she cant leave the desk and tells me to ask other people for help. I told her I had done so. She seems annoyed again and calls her friend on the phone for instructions to open the lock. I go back and try that a few times and it didnt work. I go back to the front and we see the guy that was working there that day. I forgot his name. I asked his help. He shows me using another lock and tells me if that doesnt work, to come back and tell him and hell come and help. I do that but still didnt work. I immediately go back out, but he wasnt there. I asked Destiny and she tells me that he’s already clocked out and cant help. I told her that he was just there a minute ago and told me to come back if I still need help. She said she will try to call him. I go back to the lockers to try again. Still failed.
I asked her to call the guy again for help. Now she says hes taking a test for his finals and he cant come out. So he was just in the staff room the whole time! He texted her instructions and I go and try that. Didnt work. A lady tried to help me. It still didnt work. We go out and she informs Destiny that none of the techniques they gave us worked. Destiny questioned us condescendingly saying maybe we got the lock wrong. The lady and I were surprised with her attitude. I go back in and I took a photo of the lock and locker to show her. It had already been 40 mins at this point and I was very late for work. Destiny said if I couldnt open the lock then theyll have to break it. I asked her when can that be done as I needed to go. She said, nonchalantly, I dont know. After a long time and trying every possible way to open a lock, somehow it opened, possibly from all the yanking, and it was neither the way Destiny nor what the guy told me! I unenroll, no apologies from the staff, I leave the place. A few minutes later, Destiny calls me on the phone saying she forgot to return my Drivers License. I go back and she hands it back with no apology, won't even look my way.
I understand situations happen, but a bit of good service and compassion goes a long way especially for a business. PF is a multi-million $ company, you'd think they'd hire and train people to be pleasant and have less attitude. Destiny showed annoyance and no compassion throughout my ordeal. She simply questioned everything I did and continued to comb her hair when I'd ask help. She and the guy showed no urgency nor care to help especially a new member. He too was constantly leaving his post and walking around and doing other things.This is bad service. Very disappointing. Don't enroll here.

I have to give a one star review because I can’t even get into the gym. It’s 6:51am and the gym was supposed to open at 6:00am. I’m from out of town, have a black card membership, and can’t even use it at the moment. Sleeping in on the job is no excuse. Poor management at this Planet Fitness. Am unsure why this gym turns their lights off while people are still working out. It's a liability and somebody can get hurt lifting weights and stuff. They do this 15-20 minutes before closing. I get you're trying to close on time but at least let us leave the building first before shutting everything down.

The gym is very clean and the staff is so friendly. I have decided to make this gym my home gym because of how clean it is, and never gets too busy.

They have devalued the black card benefits ! I use to be able to get 15 minute massage chair , now the option is 5 minutes ( joke ) or 10 minutes , since I am losing 33.1/3 usage , I am requesting that all black card members get a 33 1/3 discount rate on monthly membership ! Also checking in with the new system to long to process , needs to be faster ! Fix !

This is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to! I constantly see workers cleaning the equipment or the locker rooms, and they’re all super nice! I like the layout of the gym and how big and spacious the stretching room is. They provide mats and rollers too which I like/need. Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the women’s heater for the showers isn’t always reliable. Sometimes it comes out FREEZING and I have to take an ice cold shower, but most times it’s good! Definitely recommend this planet fitness for a gym, especially over 24 hour fitness (which are dirty and the smelly and charge way too much)

Attentive staff and to the point, perks pay for the membership, Its a no brainer unless you think you're too good. But I did join thinking the North Oceanside location would open by new years, i cant keep driving 20 minutes each way . So let's that get that thing open!!!

Came here on Sunday noon. Wasn't crowded at all (maybe because it was a rainy day).Most machines were available. Love the massage chairs and the fact they offer 15 mins as opposed to the ECR location. Will be my location of choice!

Very clean, staff is friendly and doesn't feel like a competition. Everyone there was nice and helpful with some of the machines. Mask wearing is at your discretion. Every station has paper towels and disinfectant for you to wipe down the machines before and after use.

I used to give this gym 5 stars. Cleanliness, accessibility and most importantly friendlyness. Everytime, staff seems unapproachable. This is anytime between 11pm to 5 am. No greetings no interaction. Been checking in here for awhile and the staff act the same. The male staff specifically not the female staff. Today staff looked angry while I try to scan my bar code. Im not use to this kind of ... planetfitness. He looked hostile lol like he is forced to work here. Judgement free zone? Looks judgy to me. What happen to the old planetfitness? Seems like theyve been hiring desperately. 🤔 might consider changing gym locations or just cancel my membership.
