One of the better Planet Fitness locations I have been to. The staff are super friendly. I have had multiple sessions with Richard and he is very knowledgeable and has been a big help on my fitness journey. He is so kind and funny, every session is enjoyable. The PF in Santa Paula is very nice and clean. Staff is good and membership is very cheap. Although it gets a little crowded, I've never had an issue finding a machine. The perks of the Black Card Membership are awesome and for the price! Can't get any better.

Love this gym, I’ve been coming here for years. But recently since they introduced the high schoolers membership has been frustrating. I’m all for our younger adults and teenagers to do exercise. Love that for them, but it comes to a point where I ask if they’re using a machine and they say yes meanwhile when I approach them. They’re not using the machine, they’re fooling around with their friends and they’re usually in a pack of 2-5. Not to mention some use this gym as a hangout area. If this program if going to be around next year. There should be a rule where an adult has to chaperone if they’re under 18. These kids should learn some common gym etiquette. Some hog 2-3 machines they leave their stuff on the machines to claim them. Meanwhile they’re just taking pictures and not using the machine. Especially 5-6 pm when people come out from work and want a good workout for the day.

Great friendly staff. The hydro massage covers are completely shredded to pieces. There should be antiseptic and paper towels next to each shower to wipe them down before and after use (unless the staff cleans them after each use?). Nice location.

Edit: Why does the "owner" reply and say please speak to the manager? No, YOU speak to the manager. I've done my job relaying the information. Lol.

This place was great, but it lost its quality, some of the staff are not very friendly when you walk in or walk out, they won’t even acknowledge you at times. Other days I have gone the machines are broken, and the hooks that go on the cable machines are missing all the time. Also, at times the locker had only one sink working and you have to wait to wash your hands. And I understand the staff are not obligated to acknowledge you when you walk in or out but at the end of the day it’s a business and some professionalism would be appreciated.

Used to come to this place a lot because it’s open 24 hours but lately has been a lot of high school kids, which is not a bad thing but they are all in a big group in all the area and take forever to use the machines. Everything is always full because people either are on their phones or in a big group. Even though they have a sign that said “no more than 2-3 ppls” but nobody tend to care. Hope they fixed it, it’s really make your gym situation irritating.

It's a small gym, one of the smallest planet fitness I've been to. Which is no problem for me, there's just a lot of high school kids working out in large groups and it takes forever to use a bench or the squat rack.

Today, I stopped by your Oxnard location just to use the restroom. I’ve visited many Planet Fitness locations in different states, and this one was a huge disappointment.

There were empty bags, toilet paper, used razors, shampoo bottles, soap bars, and dirty clothes scattered everywhere—on the floor, on top of lockers, and even inside them. The restrooms were extremely unhygienic.

This level of mess and lack of cleanliness is unacceptable for a brand like Planet Fitness. I kindly request immediate action to improve the cleaning standards and ensure a better experience for all members.

My husband and i came in late at night to cancel his membership due to him traveling overseas for work. The staff on shift (Myah & Jesus) were extremely helpful and polite. They were able to take care of us within minutes. Great service, big shoutout to both of them.

Planet Fitness members in Oxnard deserve a better located and maintained facility, honestly that would improve so many of the downsides to this location. Keep in mind that Oxnard is the most populated city in the county. Though I haven’t interacted too much with the staff, everyone has been friendly and helpful. I usually come during peak hours so I just zone in.

My main issue is the design and layout feels hostile. Honestly, either a redesign or a change in location would be the best bet to improve the layout of this place as compared to other locations in the area. The parking lot in this shopping center makes it unfavorable as well.

The machines and different areas are not well defined. The partitions are awkward and don’t contribute to a functional gym.

The Black Card Spa is significantly smaller here and does not have a Wellness Pod. The water fountain area is always leaking or closed. The bathrooms and changing rooms are extremely small and uncomfortable, with the showers missing shelves, hooks, strong water pressure; changing rooms missing mirrors and a shelf. Many lockers have been tampered with or are super small. Not enough big lockers and the benches are weirdly placed. I see staff clean the gym itself but not as often do I see the locker/bathrooms being maintained.

So far no bad interactions with staff or fellow PF members which is nice!

I absolutely love the 24/7 availability of Planet Fitness. The staff is always welcoming. I enjoy the relaxing flow of this gym. It is never overcrowded or overwhelming. I do wish there was more facilities in Ventura County. BlackCard is 100% worth it; includes water massage, tanning bed, red light therapy, and bring a guest anytime! Thankful for my experiences here.

I have visited many Planet Fitness locations across California, and this is by far one of the worst. If you're planning to shower here, don't. The water pressure is unbelievably weak — it could easily take 20 minutes just to wash your hair. The shower stalls are extremely small, clearly designed for very thin, small-framed people, and they look like something out of the cheapest hostel in Cambodia.

One of the showers has a handheld European-style showerhead, but the holder is installed at waist level, with no proper overhead mount, making it incredibly awkward to use. If this setup is intended for people with disabilities, it's confusing — the stall is so tiny that I don't see how a wheelchair user could even fit.

There are no shelves for your shampoo, no hooks for your clothes or towel — nothing. It feels like stepping into a construction site where the walls are barely finished.

The lockers are also much smaller than at other locations — my backpack didn't even fit. The whole locker room feels cramped and uncomfortable, and the lockers seem built purely to resist vandalism, with the locks recessed deep inside the doors — something I’ve never seen elsewhere.

Worst of all, there’s no separation between the locker room and the restrooms. You can be getting dressed while literally seeing someone using the toilet. It's an incredibly unpleasant and bizarre experience. The smell is awful too. There are only two toilets, and honestly, public restrooms in parks and supermarkets look cleaner and smell better.

Overall, I do not recommend visiting this gym, especially if you expect to use the showers. You're better off driving to the nearby location in Ventura.

This review is focused on female safety. While I was showering, all the lights suddenly went out. As I hurried to dry off and get dressed, I could hear a few male voices outside the bathroom, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying. Feeling unsafe, I decided to call 911 to alert them about my situation. I informed the dispatcher that I was not in immediate danger but feared that I might be, and asked them to send someone quickly.

Shortly after hanging up, I heard a male employee—at least I assumed he was an employee—call out to the bathroom to see if anyone was inside. I responded, and when I prepared to exit, I turned on the flashlight on my phone. At the bathroom entrance were two male employees. It appeared that no one else was in the gym, and it was pitch dark. They didn’t have any flashlights.

I asked them if the lights had ever gone out like that before, and they responded that they had, while ushering me to walk ahead of them. I quickly informed them that I had called the police to report what had happened. One of the employees remarked that they would be “long gone” by the time the police arrived. Just as I was exiting, the police pulled up.

I explained the situation to the officers and thanked them for coming. As I was about to leave, one of the officers asked me for my ID. I questioned why he needed my ID, explaining that I had already identified myself. I suggested that if he wanted more information, he could speak with the two employees still inside the gym. I pointed to the gym, noting that it was so dark you couldn’t see inside, and that it was a 24-hour gym.

The officer insisted on seeing my ID, and when I asked if he was checking for warrants, he admitted that he was. I informed him that I had no warrants. He then said, “Well, how do I know that? Maybe you are a mass murderer who killed three people.” I looked at him strang and said, “I am not.” He insisted I give him my ID to prove my identity.

I asked him what authority allowed him to request my ID. He stated that he could simply ask for it. I told him that I wasn't going to provide it, wished him a good night, and walked away. The officer who was speaking to me got into his car and drove off, but the other officer remained in his car, waiting for me to leave.

Instead of driving away, I reversed my car so he wouldn’t see my license plate, which is located on the back of my car. I sat there watching him while he watched me. He left a few moments later, and that’s when I finally drove away. At that point, I felt like the officers might have been part of whatever was planned that night. While I was in that bathroom, I said a quick prayer to God for protection.

As a truck driver I’ve been to over 75 pf’s all over the nation. I go 4-5x a week and I have to say this is by far the worst of any that I’ve been to. Everything is dirty. I didn’t even wanna shower here because I felt I’ve leave dirtier. Pee and water and filth all over the locker room floors. No one cleans in this place and that’s apparent. Nothing but kids and homeless people visit this place. Staff is useless. I hope management sees this and makes the necessary changes.

The equipment is new and freshly revamped, and they have a clean gym for the most part. The staff is friendly. Their BEST worker is Lynda!!! Lynda works in the early morning. She makes the gym! She is courteous, always smiles, and says “welcome” or “Have a good day,” Lynda works hard to keep the gym clean and disinfected. She should be a manager. There could be a more assertive approach in telling people to clean the equipment. The worst part of the workout experience might not even be the gym, but that is why I do not give five stars… they have this parking lot cleaner who uses a blower, and the dust gets all over your car; he has no respect, and I have had to have my car detailed several times the paint checked for scratches. After my year is up, I will go to another gym. But “For the money,” it can’t be beat..

I've been to many PF all over the U.S. Baltimore, been to them in Montana, throughout CA, Ohio. This has to be one of the worst run facilities. The culture is bad WAYYYYY TO MANY people on cell phones baby sitting the equipment not working out. I'll finish 4-8 sets before some of them even start their sets and the entitlement no one will get up to let you work in just sit there and take longer. This place is awful

I'm very picky so I've had several gym memberships in both Santa Barbara and Ventura County. Now I have just one ... and it's with Planet Fitness Oxnard. I love working out but life can get busy so the fact that this gym is open 24/7 is huge for me! But more than that, they care and greet you with a smile and make you feel welcomed. There are a ton of different machines so even during peak times you can get in a great workout ... and the big one for me ... the place is super clean! With the staff disinfecting everything ALL THE TIME and the equipment and machines being well maintained, I am impressed with this gym. I've never seen this type of commitment to excellence before so I will be a member of PF Oxnard for years to come! The gym seemed clean but my review is of the shower accommodations. Clearly the owners are not interested in providing a healthy environment for their guests. I was appalled at the padded shower seat that was ripped and moldy in the handicapped stall. Who puts a padded seat in the shower anyways? You’re just asking for yuck 🤢! After dealing with low water pressure and spurts of irregular water pressure from toilets flushing, I headed to the changing room. Another disappointment. An uncomfortable stool and ugh, no mirror! I’ll be working out at any other Planet Fitness besides this location. I didn’t even mention the wet socks and empty lotion bottle left behind by the previous guest. That was just the cherry on top and really not the employees or owners fault. Out!

I love the availability of the whole thing, seeing as it never closes! Only downside is I find several people using the "express" area (for circuit training, with a light to say when to switch machines) as a regular workout area, ignoring the timing and just doing their own workout, even when others are trying to do the circuit(and no staff pushes them on even though it's posted). But overall, clean, comfortable, and no judge-y looks.

Not only did one break onto another ember the other day, the other showers have no pressure or hot water. Literally went from a nice shower to an ice bath causing my body to go into shock. Apparently people with bolt cutters can go into the locker rooms & steal from guests. They cut the lock off my locker on 08/02/2023 and took my wallet & car keys. Management said there's not much they can do (they could hire staff to watch the locker room). They could easily investigate but would rather let someone else handle it. They need to step up their their security.

Heres my honest take on this Gym, Ive been going for about 6 months now and the staff are always quick to give you a good welcome and attentive if you have any questions. It seems to me that the staff do rounds every hour or so to ensure the machines and facilities are clean and the sanitizing equipment is stocked which I appreciate immensely. The club just installed new cardio equipment which are amazing, work perfectly, and are always clean. Ive never had a problem finding an open CARDIO machine (treadmill, elliptical, bikes, rowing) however at peak times the treadmills can get quite crowded especially because they are close by one another. When it comes to resistance machines they have always been clean and for the most part work fine, my only complaint is that since the gym is relatively small theres a limited amount of these resistance machines so theres usually always one free but from time to time you can find yourself waiting for an available machine to open up (this is especially bad if a machine is broken since there are only 1-2 of each machine). As for the back of the gym where all the weights, bench presses, and cable machines are; I find that its almost always packed save for the weekends or during the early mornings. Its no problem for me now however it was a pretty big barrier for me when I first came to PF just because I was intimidated to claim a spot in an already crowded area. However once you look past it being crowded its actually a very well equipped area, theres almost always free weights available and usually if the area is especially packed ill just take a pair of dumbbells to a more open area (Just remember to always put your dumbbells back) For the most part though I dont have too much trouble finding available benches/available cable machines/ weights racks to do my exercises in unless I go at peak peak times (4pm-8pm). For the locker rooms, I can only speak for the mens; despite the club being relatively small the locker rooms dont feel small at all, theres ample room at the lockers and ive never had a problem finding free stalls or showers. PF is a great place to get a membership and I would say is definitely worth the 10 bucks a month, the contract kind of sucks but its to expected with such a low monthly fee. For anyone whos considering joining I say do it, its been the best investment Ive made in myself and I have nothing but a positive experience here.

This is my favorite local gym, staff is friendly when you need help and have had no issues. Some equipment isn't in tip top shape but the gym is keeping up with repairs so it's never been a hassle.

I have been a member for many years. Recently, customer service has declined to the point that I am considering other options closer to home. One young girl in particular has no business at the counter, makes me feel like I am bothering her to tan, or check in. I seriously want to ask her if I have done something to offend her or if she just hates her job. Recently, she about knocked me over coming out of the bathroom and said nothing and kept walking. Eventually, I will keep walking right out the door and into a gym where customer service and basic human kindness are present. Someone really needs to pay attention to how their staff interacts with members.

This place is truly a no judgement zone and I love that they are so inexpensive it's almost impossible to not be able to afford a membership. Tanning booths are wonderful especially on a good day, the exercise machines are always clean. The staff is always positive, kind, and treats every customer the same regardless of economic class. At other gyms I was made to feel uncomfortable and like I didn't belong because I live out of my vehicle and going to the gym is not just about working out for me (which I diligently work out), but it's also about having a place I can shower and keep up with my personal hygiene so that I can apply for jobs, go on interviews, and fit in with my community. I appreciate planet fitness and the staff so much! Thank you for what you offer and have given me.

This gym has plenty of equipment but the free weights are always missing. People take them to different parts of the gym (especially) the pull down machines to have their own gym setup around the machines.
They don't allow anyone work on the machines or the free wieghts from the rack. Once they take over an area, that equipment is unavailable for an hour or more. They are very hostile when asked to use the equipment.

This Planet Fitness has a deteriorated parking lot, looked dirty and is small. The women’s shower only offered cold water (I tried two showers and both were cold). The men’s showers said “Showers are closed due to roof leak” so my partner could not even shower. I am a black card member and I politely asked where I might sit to use the “free WiFi” and was treated very rudely. The employee or manager behind the desk told me that I should leave..so I did…and will not come back.

I got a membership here and have sent 5 letters to them to cancel, I don’t live in California and canceled once I found out that the membership is not good at any club. The continued to bill me. They have done the same to others. There is currently a class action lawsuit being filed.

Got roped into what seemed like a great deal for $10/month while we were moving. We were initially told that there was an annual fee coming at the end of November, but could avoid it if we canceled by the middle of November (November 10th to be exact) since we were just there temporarily. Went to go cancel our membership this week and low and behold they charged us $40 for the annual fee the day we canceled. So now we have successfully canceled our membership to avoid the fee, still paid it, and now we can’t even workout at the gym that ripped us off for money. Avoid these contracts people, they will lie to your face.
