My experience at this planet fitness location is always positive. It’s clean and well kept. Most people clean after every use of machine and the staff are very polite. I moved a bit farther away from the 111 but I still try to make it here even though there are other gyms closer to me.

I've visited about 25 different Planet Fitness clubs through Nevada and California. I travel a ton and do my best to keep on routine. This PF is not necessarily the cleanest but it has THE friendliest staff (aside from my home gym on Deer Springs in Las Vegas). This club also has THE best BC Spa out of them all. The Wellness Pod is my FAVORITE amenity out of them all and I actively go out of my way to visit this club for that amenity. Heads up though, the scents in the Wellness Pod have "ran out" and I mentioned it to the front desk folks and it's been about 3 weeks now with no refill in sight. Not a problem but something that I really look forward to! Thank you guys for being welcoming!

I've already referred three people to planet fitness... Especially the one in Palm Desert. The staff are friendly. That really matters to me because I am in the hospitality business I work at a high end hotel and I notice. The staff set the tone. They smile welcome you and you never feel like you're bothering them. I like the range of equipment. Everything is clean. There's enough space so that it's not cramped. And love the subtle affirmations of" no judgment zone".

This is exactly what I've always wanted in a gym, with none of the superfluous things that nobody cares about. In the past, I have reluctantly paid other gyms way more than I felt their value was, and there was nothing in particular that seemed worth the extra money being paid. Planet Fitness looks absolutely like the complete gym for any and all takers, and yet the membership is a fraction of the price paid at any other gym. Despite that great deal on the membership, there is absolutely no skimping of cleanliness, no skimping on equipment availability or maintenance, and no skimping on informed personnel who are willing to help whenever asked. HIGHLIGHTS: 1. There's plenty of equipment. The most popular machines are in multiples so that you never have to wait--just move to the same machine somewhere else in the gym. 2. There's a cooperative atmosphere, but no one meddles in your workout, no one makes unwanted suggestions, but members of the staff are willing to respond whenever asked for suggestions or help. 3. Always clean as a whistle. 4. Plenty of space between machines. Never feels crowded or claustrophobic. 5. There's a huge array of media (large TV Screens) visible when working on the stair climbers or the treadmills. The viewing opportinities seem to be endless, with a wide variety of different programs on them. I don't watch them, but if you need something to disctract yourself while adding on an extra five minutes to your stair-climb or treadmill workout, you're bound to find a screen or two that interests you. 6. Locker rooms are bright and cheerful, clean, and safe. Plenty of room, plenty of privacy in the shower stalls, and of course you can lock up your locker with your own lock. Bottom line: This is the gym I've always been looking for: a super-clean, efficient, robust workout venue that fully suits all my expectations and wants, at an unbelievably low price without any hoopla or posturing, just a place to get down to it and get it done. No posing, no chit-chat--people are there to work their regimen, and then get on with their day.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP! It is virtually impossible to get out of it. They say it's "month to month" with no-commitment, but it's practically a lie. I signed up for a membership, then in August I moved out of the desert and no longer needed my membership. I called asking to cancel, they told me I had to go "in person" or use the website. The website was not letting me cancel, so they told me to send them an email with my agreement number asking to cancel. I did that. Still got charged for September. Called back in October. They told me that they would take care of it and request a refund. Still got charged for October. Called again in November... you guessed it. Got charged for November. Finally, called again and got a document saying that it has been cancelled. How about a refund? Got the same answer that I did the last 3 times. The manager will request a refund and I will get an answer in 5-6 business days. BUT... YOU NEVER GET AN ANSWER!

I thought PF was known for having flexible memberships, but truly they are just like any other shady gym. They'll charge you as long as humanly possible, making you jump through hoops to get out of it. Sucks knowing that I will most likely never get that refund.

For health reasons I had to put my membership on pause. I was told I wasn’t going to get charged for 3 months but unfortunately I was still charged. Even though I’ve addressed this with EVERY POSSIBLE person absolutely no one cares. Every person has an excuse and just tells me to wait for the refund . Months and months have gone by and still no refund . I’ve exhausted every option and done everything they’ve asked . Have went in person , talked to every manager, have even called corporate. I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m not getting the refund but this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve even experienced anywhere .

I like the size and how much bigger it is then La Quinta overall. More cardio machines and newer technology. Mat workout area more spacious than La Quinta. LOVE that the women’s bathroom changing stalls have a mirror in them for getting ready too!

Black card members have access to massage chairs, hydrotherapy beds, tanning table, or red light therapy with a vibration plate. I'm very happy with this gym is very clean and the staff is awesome. I live right next to another planet fitness location but make the long drive 5 times a week to go to this location instead.
I have been coming here since opening day over a year ago and have had a great experience every single time.
The staff is amazing and kind. Marco, who I believe is the manager, is so courteous and provides top notch customer service every time I see him.
This location is immaculate, smells amazing and the staff make frequent rounds to ensure cleanliness. Rules are enforced as well.
Highly recommend coming here.

The Palm Desert Planet Fitness is a new 2023 location. It's much larger and less congested than the Cathedral City gym. Though serious weightlifters will not be happy, most can still get a decent workout. The barbells only go to 60 pounds. This gym has more mirrors and room to spread out, where the Cat city gym free weights are too compressed. This isn't a social gym, as I never see anyone talking.

Update #3: Addition of the weight labels on dumbbell rack seems to have finally taken hold. I have yet to see a mismatched set. It’s the little things.

Update #2: when you need something done right….see the last photo. Racks have been labeled but guests still manage to muck it up 🤷🏽.

Update: Dumbbell racks need numbering by 5s because members manage to mix up weights every….single… night. See photo at bottom.

Newest PF to join the Coachella Valley. Staff was friendly when entering, and the place is spotless. New car smell due to its newness. The small lockers facing the equipment include built-in charging plugs. Hopefully Staff will stay on top of things and keep it pristine. Great, open floor plan with the newer machines and equipment. I appreciate the fact that there are three stations with dumbbells ranging from 20 to 60 pounds. It appears the owners tried to limit the migration of equipment from one area to the next. Nice touch. I typically visit the Cathedral City PF but this will be the new go to. Being a Black Card member is totally worth the benefit of using any PF anywhere.

This place is the best, and it’s huge. The facility is always clean and well stocked/organized, the staff is welcoming and helpful, and the equipment is in great condition. I’ve worked in the recreation industry for years, and trained at several fitness facilities, but this place is by far one of the cleanest and most well-kept. You can tell the people who work here and keep this place operating take pride in what they do.
