Great convenience, but some locations need updates

I really enjoy having this gym membership because of how convenient it is to use different locations all around the United States. No matter where I travel, I can usually find a gym nearby, and that flexibility is one of the biggest advantages of this membership.

However, this specific club location I’ve been using recently really needs maintenance. Some of the machines are outdated or in need of repair, and the floors and workout areas and bathrooms could use more consistent cleaning. These improvements would make a huge difference in the overall experience.

Overall, I still love the convenience and accessibility, but I hope to see better upkeep and updates across all locations—especially the one I currently visit.

I don’t come here very often but have been lifting for years and have had many gym memberships all over. Yesterday I had an incident in which I took a plate off of a smith machine that was fully loaded with plenty of weights that two gentleman were standing at, in retrospect it would have been cool to ask but it’s something done everywhere and I never mind when done to me and most people have no issues. I didn’t take anything they were using. I took one 25lb plate off the side that had 6-8 more. If there was not many weights I would have not taken it. To be honest, it was packed as usual and you gotta hustle to get a spot to workout so I went back to my workout and one of the guys comes over and tells me I have to ask before taking a weight, in a rude tone, so I said no I don’t, and he said yes you do! So I went to front desk to tell them because he was aggressive and I’m a female alone, and the manager Caleb was no help. He seemed like he didn’t care. When he talked to them it seemed like guys just sticking together. So I left upset but I asked for higher up management information. I emailed her yesterday and no response so far. I’m incredibly disappointed that an incident that was not cool and obviously being aggressive seems like it would be unacceptable at planet fitness with all the “no gym intimidation “ messages. They need better staff that can handle these situations and act like they care! No one should be telling another member they “have to do this or that”. I definitely feel the guy who approached me with that aggression over a weight was out of line and should not be allowed there with that attitude. Caleb was more concerned with my gym etiquette than the aggression. No one at that planet location has gym etiquette!

Nice place, clean and friendly staff but always too busy. can't get machines or benches because people hog. only time stuff is free is at night, but way too many homeless living in parking lot. Don't feel safe at all. They need to open more around town to thin out traffic. and get better security in shopping center.

I go really late at night, like 1am-2am and it’s always clean. Always being maintained. The gym janitors are always walking back-and-forth with their little trash buckets to collect everything and from what I’m seeing, people usually clean the machines at night. Maybe it’s a little different during the day, but nighttime is peak, chefs kiss 🤌🏼

I wouldn’t go here I transferred from the one in north Hollywood and I’m regretting doing so the workers are rude and didn’t want to help me for nothing! I got behind on my bill and so my bill is over due by for months call and asked if they would wave the late fee’s so I could bring my account current and continue to enjoy going back to the gym so I talked with the first person (who unfortunately I didn’t get her name but she was a shift supervisor ) she said she could wave 1 late fee so I called back and asked for the manager the manger tells me that I need to take care of it all and was very short with me so I asked him well can you cancel my account then because I don’t want to keep getting billed and another added late fee he then tells me I can’t over the phone you would have to come in and do it or go online to the planet fitness website witch I tried and there no help because it’s independently owned I need to go back to the north Hollywood planet fitness they actually work with you if u get behind

I have been going to Lancaster for a few years now. I noticed over time some of the machines were very outdated. I decided to stop by Palmdale for a tour. The young lady at the front desk didn’t have a relief so she showed me as best as she can without being away from the front too long which I appreciate her for not saying no come beck. I went to work out this morning and I was completely satisfied with the machines. There was 2 of the main
machines I usually have to wait in line for. Although the bathroom was dirty I overall enjoyed this location. I was hesitant because of the reviews but I just work out and leave so I didn’t see it as a big deal and went for it.

Honestly, the front desk staff was subpar. I felt as if the lady who helped me was rude for no reason and under educated on the policies at the gym. After helping me sign up for a membership, she did not even inform me of how to sign in to the gym the next day. I was supposed to be provided with a code for the app, which I was not, and I was also not even told about the app. the gym is small but has everything required for a Planet Fitness.

Love the place.
Can’t believe you don’t do maintenance on your towing machines. They’ve been horrid for months and no one seems to care.
I never leave one star reviews, but I like to row and I like all the other planet fitnesses that I’ve been to that all have rowing machines that row smoothly have fully retracting straps and have electronics that work. Yours don’t.

As an update they added extra Smith machines and because of the change from one manufacturers machines to another they have reorganized the gym. While some of the reorganization is good other parts and don't make sense and to get rid of an entire room of machines and create an area that is three times the size of the training area

They are good for their prices, but when you try to cancel be prepared to pay for cancellation which is crazy I lost my job due to finding out my job was scamming me and others so I had to stop paying for my membership. I went into the location to cancel and I was told I'll have to travel from Palmdale to Fresno to just cancel my membership which I wouldn't be able to. Also they charged my card for months well up to a year after I had stopped going I made a complaint and it was put on my credit instead of them working with me due to the inconvenience. I even put an application in but it never got accepted I was willing to work there to be able to pay my membership. I would just say If you can afford it just know it's worth it but when the unexpected comes just know they don't work with you they are about the money and don't care if you can't afford to cancel they still will charge you so be prepared! But other than the cancellation they are a good investment unless you just save and buy the equipment yourself!!

i know it's known as a no judgment zone but some people should shower more than once a week...it's a good gym for the price although now they get you on a 12 month commitment as before it was month to month. the more expensive plan is now month to month

I've always assumed that Planet Fitness was on the lower tier of the gym world. Due to the extremely low rates, areas of interest, and hearsay. Today was my 1st experience at this gym due to locality, and I would have to give it a big thumbs up. Not only is the gym well taken care of. It isn't crowded like you would assume. It's way better than its counterpart, like 24-hour and LA fitness. I'm still unsure if it's the location or the true nature of the quality.I was able to get an amazing workout with great equipment and didn't have to wait like other places. Don't get me wrong, they could use another 2 pectoral fly machines because it seems that this is the most popular machine amongst gym goers. Overall a great experience and find. Top quality 👌🏾

The culture here is terrible. I've never seen so many people sitting at machines not doing ANYTHING. Every single day, people are just sitting around for over 30mins at a single machine, on their phone, not using the machine. I have gone multiple times now and wanted to use the chest machines. Nope. People are too busy on their phone. Ask if they're done soon, they say yes and they will still be sitting there by the time I'm walking out the door.

I don't understand why Planet Fitness allows this. This is not conducive to a fair exercise environment and should not be allowed. Coming here feels like a huge waste of time as I never really get to do the exercises I want to.

Half the sinks in the men's bathroom have not worked for over 6 months.

Its probably because it's a gym, but it's almost unbearably hot in there. Do they not have AC?

The gym itself and the machines are fine, but the people here, customers and workers, make this place unbearable and quite frankly, useless. Guess I'll be finding another gym.

I have been coming here for years and always enjoyed the environment. June 12 2024 they added machines and changed layout. HUGE MISTAKE. New cardio machines are horrible to use and feel like cheap plastic. Incline settings did not respond at all. They added more of the same exact upper body and leg machines that they already had and just crowded them all together in 1 area. They even moved the cable machine facing the walkway so you can step out to do cable flys in people's way. Very disappointed in the new direction this gym is going.

Tired of coming here at this point. Overcrowded at ALL hours. I went at 11:30 and couldn't a chest bench or a machine. I was Racially harassed at this Gym by three Hispanic males ,who where peeing behind the wall has I use work out . I stood up and saw one of the man pressing his back against the wall in a peeping position with the two other men standing against the wall next to him , they stared me down intensely. They and took at front close by the door not work out has they wait for me to leave the gym, they saw that I was about to leave.I stop that the front rest report incident to the staff member Raymond, point men n out to him ,he reply he saw them, but he made no attempt to local police station to assiste exiting safety.I to Raymond I was calling myself which was also a member, he responded ok. When my husband arrives Raymond came walking towards me and push the trash can aggressively almost hiding twice, my husband pass the tree men and Raymond can running up yelling you can't walk up on a member like that , I responded no one said anything to them but why did not say anything to them when where harassing me, also those men did not chekin when they enter the gym it's unclear if they're even gym members. I ask Raymond what a manager would arrive at the gym and he said 6am a lead would arrive name James. James arrives I told him I need to report an incident to him and he reply I'm not a manager, I said aren't you the lead James no then Raymond whisper to James I thought you were the lead. I saw these two men James and Raymond relieved each in the morning several times for over two months, so how's it that Raymond did not know James was not lead, very unprofessional behavior clearly his attempt was to dismiss and ignore my report of harassment.

I love this planet fitness their trainer Rose is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! she knows how to help you get in shape EVEN if you have injuries. She will modify the class for you so you can still get moving and stay motivated. She is an all around WONDERFUL person and Trainer. I come here with my family and we always get wonderful advise and tips and classes with Rose! It's wonderful to see how much our confidence has grown from 1 year ago. I was there had a cup of coffee but when I went for a refill they wanted to charge me full price instead of the refill price because they forgot to put a sticker on my cup. Wow. To top it off, I was about to buy like 100 dollars worth of cups for Xmas.
