Parking is not easy at this location and the elevator ride up can be hot in the summer, so it may not be a great option. I think you'll be willing to look past it once you step inside. This location has a great Black Card Spa room I'm ready to provide great massages. Friendly staff and a well-kept facility adds to the experience. The first Planet Fitness that I've ever visited that provided hot water the entire duration of the shower.

This water bottle refill station has been broken off and on ever since I joined here nine months ago. I’ll be happy to delete this review once it’s been replaced/permanently repaired.

Edit: the owner has responded to this review, so they now know (if somehow they didn’t before?) that the filling station is still broken. Let’s see how long it takes them to permanently fix/replace it!

I want to like this gym, but I ALWAYS have to wait for machines being used by inconsiderate members who spend more time on their phones than using the equipment, the water fountain and several cardio machines are in various states of repair, and it's always always crowded. Only recently started coming to this gym. The service by staff was great, the gym was clean, the people coming here tend to mind their own business, and there's plenty of machines strength training and cardio that are well maintained.
I only have 2 complaints of the gym. The first is there arent enough free weights or free weight machines, thus a fully rounded workout won't be possible, if you're seeking a more aesthetic approach, but then again for 15 bucks a month it's still a steal. Honestly, my only real issue with this gym is that staff blasts music loud enough to were i cant even listen to my own music. Sometimes it simply ruins the workout vibe. So don't count on listening to your music when you come.
All in all, a good gym would recommend coming.

I rarely post reviews but this gym is awesome, I've been going for more than a year now and the monthly membership fee is a great deal for what's offered and it's always very clean, which I really appreciate. I've seen 2 staff members cleaning the ellipticals together, one cleaning the handles and one cleaning the peddles, instead of just using the same wipe for both, and I've even seen a staff member give the fire extinguisher a few wipes, just wow lol Some of the equipment do go through wear and tear, I wish they would replace the broken fabric quicker but people still use it and it does eventually get replaced, and I would say popular machines don't stay broken for too long, if it has a broken sign on it, it might get fixed in 2-3 weeks max from what I've seen? It can get packed sometimes after work hours. Free parking in structure.

I love Planet Fitness, the people who work there are so friendly, the areas are always very clean and the gym atmosphere is great. I’ve been to this PF a few nights ago. Because it’s located in Pasadena, and I was there around midnight, they were not crowded at all. There’s this one female in the locker room appears to be a homeless, because the gym is open 24/7, and that attracts certain people. She was on her laptop for about an hour and never left a locker room, so I felt uncomfortable. Other than that, all the machines I wanted to use such as total beauty enhancement, massage chair and hydro lounge were available. Unlike other 24/7 open PF like Midtown location where the homeless people took over those hydro beds and sleeping there and refuse to leave when I wanted to use. I also noticed that they have EV charger in the back of the parking lot, so if I decided to go next time, I can charge my Tesla while I’m at the gym. I live in Hollywood, so the closest PF is North Hollywood location, but their parking lot is infested by people sleep in their cars and the homeless people are either walking around or even sleeping on the ground right next to the PF entrance. Pasadena is kind of far, but I can say this is the safest and cleanest location near LA area. If I haven’t seen the homeless woman in the locker room, I’d have rated 4 stars.

Love this gym but like the last reviewer stated, some of the staff is really not cool. Today I was forced to spend extra money on disposable crap just to use my black card perks after doing like 10 sessions without it. The red light machine doesn’t damage eyes, it’s well documented. It even says on the machine that it doesn’t require eye protection. But I was sassed into buying eye protection, very poor attitude and cold interaction. Not the kind of thing I want to experience from the get go when I come to the gym.

I haven’t seen any uncool staff lately. The people working there now are always kind and helpful.

I’ve added 80lbs to my max in the last 5 months of coming here consistently. So I’m pretty happy with the machines available, although it’d be nice to have a bit more variety, I’m not sure the size of the space would allow it.

Pretty good but negative star for having a billing issue pending since I joined in 2023, I finally spoke to the right person at the counter who deleted all the payment methods and re-entered it correctly. I don't appreciate being treated like I'm trying to get in for free when I attempted to fix the payment method twice before. Shouldn't take 3 times. Another negative star for not having a 2nd pec fly machine, it's always occupied and not to mention it's also a rear delt machine so sometimes you have to wait over 20 min for it. I like the gym otherwise.

***Update to PF's reply: I asked for management with my billing issue, they took my info to get a call back and I never received the call. That's why I asked the next person on my following visit to help me, wish I could remember his name since he was actually helpful. I also left feedback regarding the equipment through the app. Where is the manager's contact info if the front desk people can't even get them to call me when requested? This place has the full range of clients, which is interesting to me. The monthly fee is so low that even serious athletes are working out here. Lots of cardio machines, but enough free weight/barbells, too. There is not enough space for stretching, tho. But the hydro massage tables and the massage chairs are great. Make recovery much faster.

I have been coming here 5 days a week since about October, and being a newer location this PF is in better shape than many, but the signs of things slipping is apparent. Every week there is something they are out - hand sanitizer, paper towels for wiping machines, or even the water bottle filler working. Today an entire row of treadmills is not working, which accounts for about 75% of them.

The location is great, and the staff is cordial enough, but I’m hoping they start picking up the slack and actually get ahead on maintenance.

It is interesting that the Pasadena location can enroll new guests but cannot cancel existing ones. I tried to cancel my membership in person on February 23, but they claimed that their computer systems were down. When I called today, February 27, after being kept on hold for a long time and having to call back, they still said they couldn't cancel my account. It is very interesting that the management, specifically Johnny, doesn't have the authority to cancel memberships. This place is a joke and a waste of my time!

Smaller place than most of the others. Crowded a lot, and have to wait to use equipment. Because it’s smaller, they don’t have as many machines as most other places. The parking is not as easy either, it’s a parking garage, and you have to take an elevator up a couple floors. it’s kinda a rooftop place next to a Trader Joe’s.

I had to experience someone very close to me be disrespected and discriminated against because he was a black man who was racially profiled. He was then told he was BANNED from ALL Planet Fitness locations because he violated “policy” by using his phone while working out in the gym. When he asked to see said policy it was never provided to him. The female and male customer service representatives were completely rude to him as he was walking out the door. The Male employee even went as low as calling him in inappropriate name while at work and on the clock. The female employee provided him with a fake name and stated she spoke with corporate who advised her that my close friend had called corporate and that’s the reason why she was speaking up. The level of customer service I had to witness was unacceptable and it saddens me that a place that promotes to be a judgement free establishment did in fact judge my dear friend. I made this review to bring awareness on the type of behavior that this company is representing.

This locations staff is very unprofessional. As I was working out I had witnessed one of the regulars get treated very poorly. I over heard slurs and curse words from the employee to the cub member. All while I was on FaceTime with my boyfriend. I will never come to this gym again and because of the very judgmental prejudice environment I will be cancelling my membership and joining where my peace isn’t disturbed and I am welcomed. Great equipment, poor management. I get it that it's inexpensive ($10/month for me, I opted not to do the "Black Card" membership, which is ridiculous). For another $30 per month I can go in a room and sit in a massage chair. No thanks. So the basic one I have is sufficient but for that I have to put up with, not so sure it's worth it: Super loud music that I hate and is sometimes offensive (I complained and they told me they have no control over the music volume) The crowded times are unbearable. People sitting on machines looking at their phones while I am waiting to use it. They have a so-called "functional" workout area with a multi-station cable machine where you can pull on a rope pulley (which I love) and a battling rope, and a TRX, etc. Except it's usually crowded with people on mats blocking my access to these or so close I can't work in the space I have left. The Smith machine area has a line set up right in front of the two sort-of-like spin-bikes I use, a little too close for comfort. One bike has straps missing on the pedals and has been that way for a long time. Sometimes one or the other is unplugged or not functioning. Complained about that too...no results.

There are several spray bottles and rolls of paper towels that you have to pick up and rip a piece off of. I really hope they recycle or compost these because there are mountains of used paper in each trash bin. One bin is set up near the stair machines. If you are next to it, the mist from the cleaning spray (for which there is no info on what kind of chemicals it contains) drifts up and you are going to be breathing it in as you are breath while exercising on the machine). Again, complained but it hasn't been moved.

The women's locker room is nice and spacious and plenty of lockers, but the changing/shower room is so badly designed and poorly maintained. There is one large changing room with a bench and two small ones the size of a toilet stall without a stool, bench, or any amenities. So you have to put your bag on the floor. Often the large one is occupied by people seemingly taking up residence in there (for the entire time of my workout in many cases - - an hour and who knows how much longer before or after that). There is often filth on the floor (clumps of hair, used ear swabs, etc.) the showers are so poorly designed that water is always flooding the floors. Especially in the handicap shower...water pools in the large changing room facing it. There is hair, left over toiletries and debris in the showers often seen the next day after I first noticed it. All complained about to the management to no avail.

It's clear the staff are all in entry-level, minimal pay-scale jobs and they are all pretty young. They have a lot to learn about customer service. I have managed large fitness centers and I know about customer service. Planet Fitness is not the place to experience it. For now it barely serves my workout purposes, but if I find a better deal somewhere, I will be leaving in no time.

This location is great but the one complaint that I have is that the Smith machines were installed backwards. The catch hooks for the bar are facing the opposite way of the mirror wall so if you’re trying to squat or deadlift facing the mirrors, the natural motion rolls the bar towards your body causing the hooks catch on the pegs and that creates a potentially dangerous situation. All of the Smith machines need to be turned around to face the correct direction to keep the catch hooks from constantly banging against and catching on the pegs.

Sooo happy that they finally opened one in planet fitness. I've been going to both the Alhambra and DTLA one, and maybe it's because this location is new but all the equipment is phenomenal! Been going for the past month and it's nice to workout with my Pasadena peeps.

Love the new equipment. It's also less crowded right now, probably because it's still new. I think it's definitely better than the LA fitness a block away, I've tried both.

Glad to see PF in Pasadena! It is very much open sooner than I was told which is a plus. It's on top floor next to Trader Joe's, lots of machines brand new machines and weights! All digital of course! So glad this will be my new home gym!

Had a great Shoulder/Back/ Bicep workout. Parking lot is big I think 4 floors of parking available. Close to all stores on the strip of Lake Avenue. The restrooms are amazing, great lighting, and spacious. Lots of new machines, higher weight lbs on the cable machines than the regular max weight of 200lbs seen on other PF's I've been exploring to in the LA area. Employee's seem nice, doing their job cleaning the machines from dust and germs. The security system of CCTV'S are in well put areas that can oversee wide angles for safety measures. The mirrors have good lighting for those who enjoy taking them great photos of their physiques. Overall you got to come check it out for yourself, put your headphones on, feel the vibe of your workout and see If this location is the one for you. It is for me.

Cons: Men locker room area was small in square foot.
The free weight section is small but I would suggest the hrs after 11pm to 5am to have that area to yourself.

I’m so Glad to have a new Planet Fitnes near me because before I had to drive from my house to alhambra like 22 min and this one is now just 10 min from my house. Definitely I’m so happy ☺️
