They always greet you at the door. The bathrooms and showers are super clean. I love that I can fill my water bottle up here anytime. The hydro beds are so relaxing and I use them more than once per day. They have tanning beds and red light therapy.

After going to PF regularly 2 or 3 times per week and referring many patients and friends there for years I was shocked when staff turned off my Alma Mata game 15 mins before closing Sat. While i was doing leg presses.
When I asked to speak to manager I asked if that was in contract I was told they could turn it off if they want to and asked to leave.im a professional psychologist who s seen over 31,000 patients in the northstateand know how to treat people.Your staffs behavior was surprisingly disrespectful and a violation to the contract. I was going to say something snarky about the cringe "judgment free zone" thing but this place legit pulled me out of a heart crippling separation with my ex wife. So I guess I'll do what I do at family gatherings, keep it to myself then make fun of it later with the cool cousins. Seriously though, you'd be amazed how effective repeatedly picking up heavy things and putting them down again is at keeping you from thinking about your crippling loneliness and depression. I used fitness for coping so hard I looked like I was getting ready to star in a marvel movie by the end of it. I'd post a pick, but I don't want to be 'that guy' ya know? But honestly, you can't beat the price, $10 a month for the run of the place $20 and you can tan there too. Anyways 10 outta 10 would recommend

Joined this club because of the 24 hours during the week and opening early on Monday then they went and changed the hours. This sucks for people that are trying to get a workout before work and are cut short. Also love when you go to take a shower and the hot water doesn’t work….well I should clarify it’s either extremely hot or ice cold!

Planet Fitness has been the best gym experience I've ever had. Their emphasis on a 0 judgement environment has made me feel comfortable coming in regularly to work out. The facility is clean and accommodating. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Updated review moved from 5 stars to 3, lately the gym has changed its hours cutting into my usual workout time during the week while other planet fitness gyms remain 24 hours. As well as opening very late on some days with the worker showing up looking disinterested and unbiased by opening the store late despite a crowd waiting outside. Disappointing to see this gym decline so rapidly in such a short time.

I’ve gone here everyday with my boyfriend as his guest but today I was profiled. They say judgement free yeah right. The female worker was yelling at me and I had a black card guest pass. I came in 60 seconds after my boyfriend. I was told to find him or leave and she was rude. I know it’s because I am fat. For those looking to cancel your membership, you have to use a browser and go through the membership portal. PF was too petty to put Cancellation in the app. (Oh. As for the gym itself, even at $10 this gym is too crowded, poorly staffed, and the locker rooms always smell like urine. They respond to reviews here but lose that energy in once you step foot inside.)

It only takes one bad apple to spoil the entire bunch. Most of the employees are cool but there is this one girl with glasses, who talks 5 levels higher than everyone else to draw attention to herself. I pay double the membership to use the spa, and when i went to use it she decided to do a thorough review of my account, while talking to me like a child. Then let another member go in front of me in the process. Companies need to understand one toxic employee can bring down your business. Im definitely shopping for another gym.

I was ok with the weekend hours starting at 0700 because I knew that when I signed up. Now this place has announced “summer hours” and will NOT be open 24 hours at all. I was in town for work and dropped in to get my workouts in for the week. All of the staff members I interacted with both on the phone and in person were amazingly friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well equipped. It is laid out well so that even though there were a lot of people there it didn’t feel crowded.

Love planet fitness. Yes I am a gym junky and yes people ask why I go to planet, but I like the cleanliness, the employees are great and welcoming, and being in Redding,CA where it is sooo hot they keep it nice and cool in there. Very Disappointed. I was a member a few years back in Idaho and it was nice. Coming back to Reddi g I decided to go to this one. I've been a gym member for about 30 years and have been in some rough gyms. By far the worst kept facility ever. You can tell a lot about a place by the bathrooms and this told me no one gave a (you know what) about the place. I paid for a year membership up front and lasted 2 months tops. I went to cancel, and get this, because I paid for a year up front they couldn't reimburse me? I was so disgusted with the place I gave up the fight and found a great one that takes care of their stuff and bathrooms. Remember, you get what you pay for. I'd love my money back so beware if you pay for the year in advance.

I have a membership to planet fitness but my my membership was purchased in Reno and for the most part I've been happy with their services in what they have to offer in Reno that is and since one membership gets you into all of them when I travel for work it's rather convenient . Even if I don't feel like working out after I'm done working I can get a shower there and then I'm a black card member and that includes use of their hydro massage tables and their massage chairs or sometimes really helps after a long day of construction. I've gone to several across Northern California and through Nevada and I have no complaints . Now as for the planet fitness located at hilltop drive in Redding California, I can honestly say I've given it several chances and I would not go there anymore. On the five or so occasions that I decided to go there I have left displeased with the rudeness of the staff or simply disgusted by the uncleanliness of the facilities bathrooms and showers , at first I thought it was maybe an isolated thing and that's why I returned more than once to give it another chance but after the last time I went and got me a membership at another gym in town that also has several locations , and even though my membership there is triple the cost, at least when I show up their service is done diligently with appreciation and kindness and I do not leave disgusted by the unsanitary conditions because their bathrooms are are always clean unlike the 5th that I seen at planet fitness in Redding . Not only will I not go back I will not even hold my membership with them for the other locations because of my experience there. I wouldn't even give him a single star except I had to register something for the rating as far as I'm concerned there a minus five

Oh man, poor Redding only has this Planet Fitness (PF) to chose from! I have used over 25 different PFs and they do vary, even the related clubs under one owner. However this is by far the worst club, not only with cleanliness but the amount of rules and lack of open hours.
Look at the walls in the tanning rooms or the tops of the stalls or touch the shower walls, it's a hint at the lack of cleaning performed at this location.
Surprising with the rules in place that management has for this cleaning to be an issue. Never had one other PF not only insist to see your eye protection for the tanning but not that but this location charges you for the stickers they require. And never had another close them prior to closing time, 30 mins before closing but not one sign or notice to indicate that arbitrary rule.
Bad enough only 4 days are 24 hours, but two of those days (weekend) are 12 hour days. They are open the least amount of hours of any PF I've been to before.
One day couldn't shower, no water for two hours, no prior notice since I go everyday, just closed one morning. Next evening couldn't tan because of arbitrary rule no tanning in last 30 mins, only to show up Saturday to find them closed when sun is still up at 7pm. Went from bad to worse. I wonder if the manager with the smug attitude is also the owner cause he is someone I can imagine with all the rules and doesn't care the members are members, he has rules. Wizard of Oz don't look behind the curtain to the man pulling the ropes

Cancelled my membership in 2018 in person. Have had to call multiple times to cancel the membership that was already cancelled. Been a member here for a few years, went in on Saturday January 20th and had a terrible experience. The gym was incredibly hot and humid! It was so uncomfortable trying to work out and not have a heat stroke. I informed the front desk and was told "sorry, I know it's hot and humid but we're not allowed to touch the air conditioner. Only the manager is allowed to touch it and the manager does not work on the weekends." I think it's ridiculous and a sign of poor management... LET THE EMPLOYEES TURN ON THE AIR!!!!

Very nice facility that had plenty of space and no one doing the 30 minute workout when I arrived on a Friday morning. Locker room was clean and after some curls and bends and lifts, I had a comfortable shower. Plenty of space in the changing area and good hot water.

- Inexpensive ($10-25/m - or $17-28 when you count the yearly fees)
- Most of the equipment is new - and refreshed often
- Staff is polite and attentive to supplies
- Gym goers are friendly, willing to share equipment and wipe them after use
- Plenty of parking space
- Properly lit if compared to other PF's

Cons:
- The middle sink on the men's restroom doesn't work (since July 2023 - it's now December 2023). Already informed 9 different team members and the manager. Was told that a plumber will come eventually, but not worry as not everyone washes their hands.. and although this might be true, it's sad to hear such things post-pandemic
- No tools to measure your progress
- The men's restroom always smells funny (it's a user's fault on whatever asparagus supplement people use). Some fresheners might be welcome.
- It gets oddly crowded on Monday/Tuesday (supply/demand, I know; not reducing a point here)

Was promised I could get a refund, which is on a recorded line.
I had to go through so many loops to cancel, and mine wasn't even a contract.
1st was told had to call customer service. I did that. They told me I absolutely can get a refund and cancel, but I have to do it by email.
So I emailed, for both cancelation on membership, and another email for refund.
In the email, they told me that once I cancel, I am able to get a refund, but that I have to cancel at my local gym... which they told me I had to call.

After a few weeks, I was finally able to cancel, and then I got an email from Skyler the GM here, and he said, "No, we don't do refunds."
I was promised by email and by phone on a recorded line that I could cancel.

They charged me $49. Plus, late fees since they take a week to actually take out, plus $10/monthly fee, which this while time for a month, I've been trying to cancel. So not only will they not refund me, but now they are saying I owe them $30.

I'd say it's time to lawyer up guys, this isn't the first time they've done this.

Just read the reviews.

Thinking all of us who have experienced this, we could get together for a class action law suit, not only for lying on recorded line and by email, but falsely making promises.

God forbid you want to listen to an audio book or your own music. The thumping music is too loud and you're forced to listen to it. By joining this club, I was looking forward to some "alone time" away from my busy household. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

It's a pretty good gym. The hours kinda suck, though. They're open 24 hours on days most people don't have time to go to the gym, but they close at 7 on the weekends. There's also too many cardio machines and not enough weight machines. I'm constantly having to wait to use a machine I'm after, but there's always treadmills and stair climbers open. I do really like the 30 minute workout area. It's super handy when I'm trying to get a workout in on a Friday after work and dinner and only have til 7 to workout lol.

You get what you pay for.
Called Corp to cancel, was told to contact local. Was told in order to cancel membership I have to send a letter to local office. At 1st the $10 was worth it. Until they did this. I'd sooner pay $50 mo to a legit gym that will cancel when I ask, without 10 miles of red tape.

Sure, you produced a lengthy contract that would require a law degree to understand. I get it. Its more important to be less than simple, over complicated, and in the end shiesty - then to just cancel the agreement. No bother to me. I won't be back. You chose $20 over a returning customer. I lose nothing.

Remember columbia house records? And that 1 penny, but it was all BS and near impossible to cancel because of the fine print.

Save your time and ethics, this business is shady and outright created a loop hole you can't escape.

In short, you have to send smoke signals on a full moon, in the summer solstice while chanting "im an absolute bag of bad ideas" while sitting on a trash can to get them to cancel.

And then, even if you cancel your card, they will charge you another fee.

I'd rather set my hair on fire then give them another dollar, purely for the sheer frustration amd annoying list of BS you have to go through, for a simple $10 cancelation

Don't go to this gym! They're amateurs running this place! I never in all my years of gym memberships at other facilities heard that there's an age limit of 13 to allow your children to join! I have a son who wants to go to the gym with me and they won't even let him join or work out with me because he's 12 years old! That's stupid! I totally recommend against coming here! What a joke!

By far the worst company to trust with your personal information. I was furious to find out that a friend of my daughter who is homeless needed a free place for she and her boyfriend to shower, was able to sign up for 2 separate memberships very easily with very little effort using only my account and routing number. I only found out when my account was charged $50 for memberships I never signed up for. When trying to contact the gym to get this resolved I was told that I would have to speak with a manager but one was not available. I was told they wouldn't be in until 5 am Monday morning because they didn't work weekends. So I set my alarm to wake up extra early to catch one. Only to be told they actually wouldn't be in until 8 am. But come 8 am still nobody was available to talk to me. After about a week of trying I was finally able to reach someone but to no surprise they were less than helpful and were very rude. When I asked how it could be possible for someone to sign up so easily using only basic information and an account and routing number without ever ever requiring any sort of photo ID. I was told that it could be done either online or through their app. I then I asked how it would be possible for these people to even use the membership or even attend the gym without having to show some kind of proof of identity first? Apparently these fraudsters could attend any of the gym locations besides the location they listed when signing up and be able to walk right in and use the membership with no questions asked or ever having to show ID. I was completely flabbergasted. Even though I was not the one who signed up and have never even stepped foot into any of their locations they were going to be keeping my money and if I wanted it back then I would have to dispute it with my bank. Which is exactly what I did but only to find out that it could take up to 6 months before I can even get my money back. My husband and I are both elderly and disabled and with living on social security you can't afford to lose $50. But this place could care less. Yes folks apparently all you need to sign up is very minimal information and a routing and account number. So any homeless person off the street can shower regularly for free while costing you dearly. And it amazes me that planet fitness does nothing to prevent this kind of thing from happening and continues to allow this type of behavior to continue. Deplorable.
