The San Dimas Planet Fitness has made some significant upgrades. The new machines and equipment have really revitalized the gym, making for a much better workout experience.
The most notable improvement is the increased selection of free weights. This is a huge plus, as it provides more options for strength training and a more comprehensive workout. The addition of 10 new stair masters is a game-changer. This is a huge relief for anyone who has had to wait in line for those machines, especially during peak hours.
For the price, the new additions make the membership an even better value. The only drawback, as with many locations, is that it's not a 24-hour facility. However, considering the excellent upgrades and the affordability, it's a small trade-off for a truly enhanced gym experience.

Thanks so much to the kind staff who've lowered the volume when I've asked to tone the music down (some places blast it like a club and it's highly distracting) and kept the women's locker room and bathroom clean. It is hard to do that kind of job, so thank you to the ladies who manage it well. I also want to point out that the community is considerate - they do re-rack and clean after themselves. Update, 6/23/25:
As a TravelingDoulaNCS.com, I've been to many Planet Fitness locations across the country. Of all the locations, only three staff members have gone above and beyond in providing stellar attention to detail in their cleaning both on the gym floor/equipment, Black Card Spa, and women's bathroom. Two of them were at the South Broadway/Littleton, CO (in 2023-24) and, after being in Chicago for the last month on contract, I met the third, Nancy, here at this location today.

I went into the bathroom and noticed the freshly clean floors and sink/mirror areas; and then came out of the bathroom stall to see her spot treating the bathroom walls. I asked her name and profusely thanked her for the quality care and attention she was giving to the cleanliness of her workplace. I went out and sang Nancy's praises to Manager Briana. When I left this location over a month ago, it was dirty; but I'm so glad to return to my homebase gym knowing Nancy has this place cleaned spick and span!

Side note:
Prior to my leaving town for my previous Postpartum Doula contract, I forgot to update my review on the new machines they brought in as well as the reconfiguration of the equipment on the gym floor - LOVE it - with the exception of a couple machines that directly face each other instead of all facing the same direction. Today I noticed the sign saying that even more be equipment is coming - AWESOME!! If I can put my 2cents equipment request in for a sissy squat and a incline plank, those would be phenomenal additions too.

I came here a couple weeks ago on a day pass and was so impressed that I bought a membership to this location. Of all the corporate gyms I've been to, this location ROCKS!!! The whole place, including the toilets and showers, are CLEAN and well maintained. Nothing is out of place here. Even the machines are respectfully, appropriately, and, as a female, modestly placed. Weights are always reracked and all the machines are wiped down by most members and the proactive, attentive, warm, friendly staff. It can get "busy" but the place never feels crowded. You can tell the members appreciate, respect, and follow suit on the way this location is managed. I can't say enough positive things about this location, their staff (HUGE shout-out to the early morning crew!!!), and positive vibe environment they've built for the members to enjoy. If you're looking for a new, quality gym in the area, THIS is where you want to be!

Black card is a scam, you have to pay to downgrade!

If you want to upgrade your membership it's free. That way if you ever run into financial trouble down the road they have you locked in their black card membership. But if you reeeeeaaaaally want to just go back to paying less. You have to give them over 2 months of a black card membership upfront first! This does not get included in your annual fee!! Emailing them did not help they just copy pasted instructions for how to downgrade from their website. Also they do the scumbag gym move where you have to downgrade and cancel your membership in person. Corporate nonsense from a gym that already has a bad fitness reputation.

I'm in a DPT program and I can assure you that I will steer anyone in my cohort, the year above and below me, as well as any future patients away from this franchise.

This membership model is outlandish. Going from black card membership (where the massage beds are regularly broken) to regular membership you have to pay a $49 fee…even already being a member. But to upgrade? Free of course, because then you’re locked in to additional fees. Cancellation fees I get, but wasn’t the plan to cancel until maybe now. Which you also have to do in person. PSA If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is.

I have to say I'm really sad today. I've been going to this Planet Fitness for a few years now and I walked in today to see that they have completely removed their 30 minute workout circuit training area. That area was the only thing that got me to go back to the gym any time I was in a workout slump. It was convenient, low-impact, and gave such a good workout in a short time. Not everyone has all the time in the world to spend at the gym.

It's not lost on me that the room was rarely utilized properly.. a lot of people that used the room just hopped on random machines for as long as they wanted instead of using the timer and going through the circuit. And when people weren't using it "improperly" like that, there was barely anyone in there. I'm sure Planet Fitness higher-ups viewed it as a waste of space, but I nearly cried when I saw the change. I even saw a few circuit regulars looking forlorn about it; kind of wandering around wondering what they were supposed to replace this really great workout with. I thought about walking out immediately and cancelling my membership... and I might still do that. But mostly I just wanted to write this review in case there's a chance more people want that room back-- to add my voice to it.

When I go to Planet Fitness San Dimas first thing in the morning, I feel tired and sluggish. As soon I walk in through the front door I am greeted by Desiree. She has a great positive personality. She really makes my day! Now I enjoy going to Planet Fitness first thing in the morning, The gym is always clean in the locker room, Black Card Room and on the gym floor. They have all the equipment that I need to get a great workout. I enjoy coming to Planet Fitness San Dimas for my workouts!

I've been developing a new morning exercise routine and I've been to many of the planet fitness gyms in the local area such as Pomona, Ontario, and Upland, and I could honestly say the San Dimas gym is my favorite. It's big and spacious, it's two levels and has a elevator! The location and the layout is great and I always see people cleaning and the staff is very friendly, shout out to Frankie and Romero! Especially for waving and saying hello every single time that I arrive making me feel welcomed. Oh I met Darcy and he is a cool guy too.

Now that we're back at hitting the gym up on the regular, we're happy to be here.

Not as busy as some of the other gyms and on the machines, they have duo machines right next to each other. So a couple can work out simultaneously and side by side.

Employees have have been friendly, helpful and professional. Hygiene is a priority at this location in San Dimas

Overall, it's a well out gym with space to move around. And most importantly for me,space to move around.

This location is one of the best PF I’ve gone too. There's just one problem they need to make time limit on how long people can use the smith machine. In the morning there’s a woman and a bald man always doing super sets. They leave the smith machine unattended with only their water bottle, keys and other belongings. The man specifically goes somewhere else for 10 minutes and comes back then leaves for more time then comes back. This is upsetting when gym goers like myself need to use the machine that’s just sitting there not being used.

I love this PF! I’ve been to a lot of them in the area and this one is by far the best, I love that it’s two floors. The staff is wonderful and always say hello and goodbye! My favorite aspect about this gym is not necessarily the gym itself rather the community vibe and silly traditions the gym has (they love squirrels at this PF and leave nuts for the gains) and it really encourages me to keep going! Keep up the great work!

I would rate at least 4.5-5/5 except 1) staff is slow to respond to fixing equipment. For instance, there are a limited number of stationary bikes. If 1 or 2 are clicking or broken, that is a problem; 2) rules are good esp. no lunks and take calls outside, but staff often do not enforce. I am here because I do not want to hear loud phone guy's convo next to me and I do not want to hear bro's grunting and dropping weight they can't handle. These two problems detract from a gym with 5 potential.

Nice gym. No pool, hot tub, sauna or basketball but I don’t need those things. It has everything need.

Good hours. Machines in good shape. Very few people just camping out on the machines surfing the Internet.

One nice thing: at least 80% of the people clean the machines every time they use them. This is opposite of my last gym (LA Fitness-Glendora) where 80% of the people did NOT clean the machines. Nice change.

Been a paying member here for many years, and this new thing where they allow teenagers in for free for the summer is ridiculous. I only have time to go after work, seems this is the same time the kids go, gets really crowded and can't get on the machines. You know, I really like this gym and the mentality behind their business model. Every weight is covered on the opposite side of the user and it really does cut down the weird competitive nature that some gyms get. The place is CLEAN and most members wipe down their machines after use. Good mix of music, all equipment in top shape, friendly staff, no "pick up" vibe. Love it

So far I have like this gym. Is small but I was content with staff keeping it clean and staff have been friendly and respectful.
However, I did not like how they closed early on weekends but I work my schedule around it… Now… they change the schedule and close early even on weekdays 5am-11pm…

Don’t they think of their members, some of us have jobs at 7am far away and 5am is too late, Others can only make it after midnight because they work evenings. This has surely screw up my schedule.
There are other planet fitness that never close… maybe one day on the weekend they close early but not every day.
This is insane, looks like I will have to look elsewhere that works better for me.

This actually used to be my favorite gym until the hours were unexpectedly changed and now they open at 5am daily.
