I am sorry to say this as I am a resident of Simi Valley and I have been going to this gym for about three years. I have recently decided that I want to visit other planet fitness or go somewhere else completely because while it used to be one of the most clean facilities I’ve ever seen when I first started going for the first six months after that, they stopped Having a cleaning service come in and cleaning their restroom and shower Area anymore like they used to have and now the restrooms are nasty. The floors are slimy under your feet from peoples bodies, sweat and filth on the floors. I am not kidding you you get out of the showers and you better watch out you might slip on your head that’s how slimy the floors are now because no one takes care of it. No one goes in there and mop the floors daily They used to clean that place from top to bottom every night now they don’t clean it from top to bottom any night and this has been going on for the last couple of years so they’re lucky to get three stars. I should give them one.P.S. Just a footnote to their credit they do Go around, wiping off the machines And they do put paper in the restrooms and they do mop for aesthetic purposes at least because I’ve seen it, but as I said, they actually used to be clean, not just look clean. There is a difference and for that reason I am saying these things not because there isn’t any effort put out at all and not because they don’t appear clean, but appearances are deceiving and they know, and I know that they do not offer the quality of care for that facility anymore that they used to offer they used to pay a service to come in that service for some reason started flaking out on them, but then they never followed up by getting someone else They just started delegating it to employees who didn’t really want to do the work and it shows after the last couple of years that going on it’s bad and I mean bad that’s all.

This is my local PF, but I don’t come here every day since I usually go to the one near my workplace. I’ll admit, I might be a bit spoiled by that location, it’s cleaner, well-ventilated, has a great parking lot, and overall offers a much better experience compared to this one.
Unfortunately, this location feels neglected. It smells, looks dirty, the locker room mirrors are tagged, and overall it has the vibe of an old, worn-down gym. I’ve visited twice, once early on a weekend morning and once on a weekday afternoon, and the difference in conditions between the visits was noticeable, though still not great.

I came in this afternoon 04:15 and got completely useless service. You can always easily create an account and start paying for services to visit this fitness club, but it will be very difficult to refuse payments for this account to terminate the contract. Especially if you noted that you would go to one office and then decided to change that to a different office address.

Unfortunately, the bathrooms are often dirty and smell like urine. Recently, the machines have also been noticeably unclean. I used to see a cleaning team regularly, and the restrooms smelled nice and the mirrors were spotless — but not anymore. I hope the gym brings back the level of cleanliness it once had, especially now that the membership cost has gone up.

If it helps, look at the surveillance tape for the front counter near the soft drink refrigerator on Sunday, 7/14/24, around 12:30 noon...

On Sunday, 7/14/24, around 12:30 PM, I approached an Asian guy near the counter (I can't recall his name) and asked him about the lack of fans or AC operating. Instead of addressing my question, he started walking towards the soft drink refrigerator, turning his back to me. I later told him that when someone is speaking to him, he should not turn his back but instead offer eye contact as a courtesy. He responded by saying he was checking the refrigerator. I replied that it could wait and that he should never turn his back on anyone, especially a Planet Fitness customer. I suggest providing common courtesy and customer service training for all workers, especially the younger ones...

Super friendly staff and the machines are never broken down, what more could you ask for? Every time I come here I'm greeted right away by the friendliest people. There are tons of sanitizing stations around the gym which is a huge plus. There are tons of TVs which are a helpful distraction on the treadmill and you can even select songs that will play over their speakers at the Rockbot station. I really enjoy coming here and always feel great and accomplished when I leave.

I was really disappointed with my visit today. A month ago, I spoke with the manager about replacing a broken massage chair—the part for leg massage is damaged, with the soft padding missing, which makes it painful to use. When I arrived today, they assigned me chair number 10, the same broken chair. To my surprise, it was still in the same condition and hadn’t been fixed or replaced. When I asked for a different chair, the receptionist said it wasn’t possible since I had booked chair number 10. This is frustrating—why should I have to deal with the issue when the manager hasn’t addressed it? It made it impossible to enjoy my experience.

Simi Valley location has nice staff and the cleaning staff are cleaning the equipment and general area but the men’s bathroom is disgusting. The shower curtains look like they have never been cleaned or changed. The shower walls are in need of a good scrub to get rid of the smell and accumulated mildew. The shower drains are clogged and water is stagnant. Even though there are newly installed waterless urinals the smell is very bad and unpleasant. I come at different times of the day and hardly see a manager. Without a manager insight I have spoken with the front desk staff more than once about these issues and I’m always told someone will look into it.

The worst customer service ever! I was visiting Westlake village for work, and decided to go to the PF in the area, but the closest one is this place in Simi Valley. It was a long drive, but the review was positive and most says it’s clean environment. But that ends there. I was at the woman’s locker room and no one else was there. Then this elderly female employee in her 70’s entered and walked straight to the mirror with a shelf where I placed a bottled water and she asked me in a harsh voice if that water is mine. It’s kind of obvious since there’s no one else in the locker room. It wasn’t what she said but how she said made me mad. I’ve been to many other PF and the employees are ALWAYS young and fit except this Simi Valley location. It’s not that I’m discriminating about her age, but her attitude sucks! Just because of her, I’d never return to this PF again! She totally ruined my mood! Many days later I’m still mad every time I remember this. So here’s my review on them. She should get fired and the hiring manager should hire someone young and not mean!

It's about 1:30 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon and I tried to go in and use the facility here I signed up with the Camarillo office Planet Fitness there and they can't was the lady was very rude to me she said oh this is not your home store and apparently I told her that when I went to my home store the other day home gym that my payment for some reason didn't go through and they said you have till Wednesday well when I came here it was still showing that I said well I just need to use the shower please and I'm taking care of it Wednesday she said well this is not your home gym so you're not allowed to even come in here and it was very rude of her she was not nice and made me feel bad made me feel really bad and you shouldn't feel that way at any Planet Fitness that you go to her name was onyx and she said she was the general manager and I asked her why she couldn't just call Camarillo and make sure that they arranged that and you know at least let me go in this time and say Hey you know take care of it tomorrow that would have been a nice thing to do especially if you paid $25 a month

The staff here is awesome, very patient, and caring, I'm almost 62, and they designed a workout for me that is Age appropriate for me, not for a 20 year old. I'm so happy to be working on getting my 62 year old body stronger, not perfect, just stronger!!

Very strange workplace-staff-culture. I have received flashcards with notes written on them wrapped in sandwich baggies by who I believe was a staff member, because both times I received them the maintenance door was open in the locker room. Very young staff who appear to be very drama oriented and must be hypersensitive and lacking in professionalism. And, recently, the cleaning crew unplugged my treadmill while I was running on it, nearly causing me to fall off. Other PF Clubs are NOT like this. Mature folks, beware!

Came in today with no mirrors?!?! A courtesy email would've been nice. As anyone who goes to the gym, mirrors are key for motivation and checking form AT LEAST. I was also notified that there won't be mirrors this weekend? What's going on here.

Not to mention before that tonight was the second time we've been here with no water in the water fountain or bathrooms because the "women's bathroom is getting fixed"? You can seal / stop water at a certain area without having to stop water THE WHOLE DAY.

This is ridiculous. Come on Planet Fitness.

Really good gym. Good value for the price too. It's clean and if you go at the right time, you won't have to wait very long for the equipment you want to use, if at all. They have everything the average gym-goer needs, but if you're a powerlifter, you'd be better off somewhere else. The stretching/calisthenics area can be overcrowded if you show up at the same time that the personal trainers are having a session with their members. The employees are always nice to me!

Update 27NOV2022, so I've been here a few times. It isn't too bad of a gym. One issue I did have, though... I have the PF black card... I needed the extra caffeine kick. I selected a zero sugar Rockstar. Not wanting my workout to go to waste, I proceeded to purchase it and turned out it was $4.49!?!? For 1 drink!? I honestly regret purchasing it, but I'd figure being a PF member, the purchase would've been way less. .. do not purchase, go to a 7-11..

Fairly non busy. Got a decent workout in but the only issue I had with this particular location was the lack of cleanliness. I would rather put up with an overpopulated operation than a dirty one. Staff should patrol and restock their supplies more often as the restrooms were not impressive.

The layout of the gym was a lot better than others. Most of the cable machines were alligned per workout while other locations have them scattered.

I am visiting from Canada and I was so happy when I found out that there's a planet fitness in Simi Valley. My first impression was "WOW" it looks small from the outside but when you go inside the space they have is huge. There are plenty of machines to use. The staff are friendly. It was nice of Jesus to introduce himself and offer his help if I needed any assistance. The facility is well kept clean. They have staff non-stop wiping, and dusting the machine. The locker room and washroom are also kept clean. Keep up the great work!

The place isn't extraordinary but it gets the job done. They have like 7 mats to stretch on so I guess bring your own. They have probably 6 workout benches for freeweights but nobodys going to bring their own lol. I often have to ask people if it's ok to share a bench or wait for someone to be finished. The people who go are typically nice. The people working there seem like they are drones reading off scripts they were told to say. But theyre young so I get it. The showers though, my god did anyone teach planet fitness how to scrub down a shower? Im tempted to scrub it down myself with industrial bleach before using it. Stuff will be left in there for more than a day and come on thats not right. I tried just wearing shower shoes but got atheletes foot. I now have resorted to wearing socks AND shower shoes and spraying gold bond after as a saftey measure cause atheletes foot aint cute. But I digress, get in get out be happier and healthier fir it.

It was a good gym until they started allowing the summer program for teens which is ages from 14 to 19 years old, They are allowed to join for the summer for free. Which has made the gym a nightmare to go to. It’s always packed with kids and they come in groups, they don’t clean the machines nor do they put weights back. I was super excited about this gym, I signed up and paid in advance for a whole year wish I would have known about this teen program I would have waited til summer had ended to re-enroll.
Looks like I will be going back to anytime fitness down the street until summer is over.

Walked out of Hobby Lobby with the intention of walking into Planet Fitness to sign up. I’m currently with Gold’s and was looking for a change. As I was about to enter, I witnessed the strangest behavior to come from a grown man. One of the Planet Fitness employees was standing outside with another man and literally told a stranger walking by that he was overweight and laughed at him with the man next to him. To his face! That’s the kind of behavior I see in high school drama shows. I felt so embarrassed- not just for the poor man who had to walk away upset- but also for the supposed man that works at Planet Fitness who has the need to go out of his way to berate a stranger who was minding their business. To point, laugh, and say something so incredibly rude. I will absolutely not be spending my time or money in or anywhere around this gym. If I needed any kind of sign to stay at Gold’s Gym, it’s this. Absolutely abhorrent behavior. What a disappointment in humanity. I cannot believe an establishment would allow these kind of people to work there.

As travelers throughout the US, we have had the pleasure of using Planet Fitness facilities across the country.

A couple months ago we came to California on an extended vacation with an exploration and possibilities of moving here permanently. We have visited nearly all of the planet fitness facilities in southern California. Although we are staying in Malibu, we drive to this facility as a direct result of the superior customer service we receive here.

Extremely disappointed with the lack of staff enforcement pertaining to the requirement of members to wear masks and social distance when walking through the club. The fact that there are members that don't think they should wear a mask or abide by the club rules is bad enough. When an un-masked member stands right in front of you, scrolling through his/her phone is just unacceptable. Front desk and roaming staff know who these individuals are. I have no idea why they don't ask these members to follow the rules. I've brought this up with the corporate PF office and club management. Unfortunately, some members continue to defy the rules.

Absolutely ridiculous that this location discriminates at random on their mask policy. There are people all over the gym not wearing masks, but the employees on a particular day choose to target my blackcard guest on not wearing a mask, and make up some excuse about why they aren’t concerned about the other people not wearing masks, including “but they are working out their lungs” while working out on a treadmill vs weightlifting, or “but they are at least attempting to wear a mask”. Which makes zero sense, completely not medical and unscientific not to mention arbitrary policy. If you aren’t going to enforce your mask policy consistently and fairly too each guest, then why bother?

They’re mandating and enforcing all masks and vaccination in LA County, Ventura isn’t as bad, but the one in Chatsworth and the one in Northridge are serious. It’s good for some people, not my style.

This is easily my favorite location. Great equipment, space and service. One staff member in particular Alberto is always well spirited and extremely helpful! The entire place is consistently cleaned and very impressive. We appreciate you!

New gym for me. I used another big name gym for a number of years and hated how busy it was with people who were very friendly or welcoming. I focused and survived the pandemic without a gym and dropped almost 40 pounds over the last year. Now that the winter is here and it's dark by 5,i decided I needed another option as a back up to the great outdoors. For the price, the ease of use and the convenient 5 minute drive from my home, planet fitness fits the bill!! I don't have a single complaint after about a month of use.

Hands down one of the nicest Planet Fitness locations I’ve visited. Extremely clean and staff is so friendly. Very large with 50 treadmills and tons of other workout equipment.

This is a new look at doing your Fitness. I was amazed on how this gym functions. Very Modern and Functional. They have easy access to all equipment and as a Bounus Judgement Free Zone with amazing Hydro Massage machines, And a collagen a production machine that you stand in that promotes a youthful skin care. You have to give it a try. The staff here is amazing 👏 good Job Planet Fitness
