I’m a truck driver and parking is my first concern. This location doesn’t have an issue. Hopefully it doesn’t ruin the privilege but park in the Sam’s club loading dock area and make the short walk, there’s signs all over about overnight parking but I spoke with the property security guard and he said we’re good to park in that area. Couldn’t give 5 stars and probably deserves less than 4. Showers hot but dirty like they hadn’t even been swept in a while, bandaids and hair on the ground. Also the tile job was done so poor that water pools in the changing room. Water fountain was also not cold which seems to be a trend around the country unfortunately that I don’t understand. Smaller location missing some machines that I like but it got the job done I guess. Better than nothing. And no I’m not going to talk to a manager, it’s not my home club and we also leave reviews here for you to use and shouldn’t have to speak to a manager

I have been a member for about 8 years.. I now noticed the stinky women’s restrooms (it’s really gross), people recording which is very uncomfortable, the staff is no longer kind nor helpful. A man fell from the treadmill he was unconscious and the staff member just strolled to him with no care as he bled from his head.
Lastly they never upgrade equipment or bring new machines like they do in surrounding cities, they have rows of elliptical and stair machines that no one ever uses. Why not bring something new. Us members in S. Gate deserve new and good working exercise machines too.
If things don’t start to change I will need to terminate my membership and go else where.

what's going in with the smell in the restrooms? it smells like old sewage. it gives me a headache. A lot of the machines are not working . the elliptical starts and re starts during workouts. the bikes have no straps on the pedals. the treadmills feels loose ,unstable. And this happens with a lot of the machines its not just one or two. the guy and blonde girl that work together are rude. the short guy that is by himself is really nice. I'm going to start going to the Downey PF. the machines work, it doesn't smell, and the front desk people aren't rude.

I think this gym is sad and a let down to those fellow people who care to go in and simply workout. Sometimes these nosey managers don't know how to be managers and I guess it's due to the community we live in. When I had an issue with this gym, the manager had no courage and no intention of helping. How can you help others and then single someone else out? There's nothing cool about that and it is definitely not judgment free at all. You have to check yourself. Big time. I think you and your people are going too far to allow BS to spread and it is not safe nor cool. Disgusting.

I really like this gym. I mainly go in the nighttime and I got say the staff there is very friendly and helpful and they are a clean gym for the most part. Always stocked and I see them cleaning every time I go. Its 3 different people from what I've seen so far throughout the week

Been coming to this gym for years and it finally occurred to review this place! I’ve came in mornings, afternoons, evenings, you name it! Just want to give a shoutout to all the great staff but the night shift in particular have been so great that I’ve switched my schedule to come in at nights!

Juan and Jermaine are always friendly, accommodating and make coming to the gym enjoyable, their energy makes you want to workout even more! I always recommend this gym to my friends!

I was walking around in the gym Omar a stuff member and the other guy at the front was really rude to me they say that I was not supposed to have my back but as I walk around I saw others with bags I honestly felt discriminated by them I would like to to talk to management or HR about it . Good area that is centrally located with plenty of parking AND visible security patrols. However, the gym itself has maintenace issues. The bikes have straps missing or broken and some dont work, also there are frequent leaks from the pipes around areas of the gym -- pretty gross to have "something" dripping on you.

As a black card holder, I've visited many gyms throughout the States, and this is one of the best gyms I've ever visited. It might not be the biggest, but it's one of the cleanest gyms out there. Also, the night staff is one of the friendliest and most welcoming people I've ever come across, very attentive, and it gives out very welcoming vibes.

Machines are limited, there are more treadmills and elliptical machines than others. Also, there are 4 bench press machines that are always busy, usually users take forever either meditating on life, chatting away with others and/or browsing away on their phone while undermining those on the side waiting. Some get bothered when asked on remaining reps, with no chance for me to build a sexy body! No, in all seriousness, maybe put time limits on these machines to give everyone a fair chance or make space by getting rid of elliptical and bring 2-4 more.. They also need more leg extension machines.

I have been flexible enough to attend this gym at all sorts of hours. For example, hours varying from 10 am, 3 pm, and 12 am. Within my experience of being there at different times of the day, and with being greeted by different faces and staff, I can assure everyone on this platform reading this that the best treatment is the N͟I͟G͟H͟T͟ staff. Specifically the staff after 11 pm. No other staff members have greeted me, listened to me, or made me feel as welcome as they have. As I am doing my workout, I visually see the staff members actively cleaning the gym, sweeping everywhere (or vacuuming), and organizing the equipment. As a black card member, they are the only team that make me feel I am getting my money's worth. With those hours being some of the only times where the gym is impeccable, the drinks are neatly organized, and the service machines (massage beds, etc) are well maintained. So with that being said, before the year ends (and I forget) I wanted to give the N͟I͟G͟H͟T͟ staff a huge shoutout. Thanks for all you guys do.

Best planet fitness in SoCal.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. I was having issues with my membership and the staff took their time to help me troubleshoot the issue.. unlike the planet fitness in Downey who straight up just denied me entry and had an awful attitude About it… the South Gate location was the total opposite. They actually took the time to help me every step of the way to help resolve my issue and it didn’t even take more than 5 min. I was granted access and my account membership was updated and restored. Not only is the staff very polite and professional, the place is also very well kept and maintained. The entirety of the changing rooms are also clean.. from the showers to the restrooms to the changing rooms. Seems like they have a staff member checking in on The changing rooms every 10-15 min. Very clean. Definitely would recommend visiting this location. Special shoutout to Alejandro, David, Omar and Michelle who go above and beyond and deliver exceptional customer service. Overall great experience.

Bathrooms are disgusting. Just saw an employee mop the floors of the men's locker room without sweeping first. I mean what's the point of moping if all you're going to do is spread the trash around instead of picking it up. The employees are not to blame here, it's management. This gym is filthy, bathrooms are absolutely disgusting at 10 am when there aren't even a lot of people here. No toilet paper in a stall that should have 3 rolls. Why are the people who come to these gyms so disgusting, and why can't the gym pay someone to keep it decent? All the employees are too busy playing on their phones

And even when the gym isn't busy there isn't enough equipment, it's a slow time and still every single machine I want to use has someone using it. Most of the time ppl are using things wrong or playing on their phones, but does this gym monitor it or do anything about it? Nope, they play on their phones. Don't come here.

Oh. Several exercise machines and a shower are out of order and a sink. Apparently no one is keeping up on this place to make it usable for the customers. I wish I could go less than 1 star.

Not to mention they only ever have two massage beds available/working at a time.I would love to see some changes in the morning crew. Last time I couldn't get access to the massage bed because the blond hair girl was in the bed for 20 minutes and the other bed was being used. Employee shouldn't use those in the morning during rush hour.If you plan to go and get good customer service from them go at night time. The night crew is always attentive and very polite.

Gym was alright. When I come home from college for the summer I always sign up, right on time for the yearly fee too, but for the most part it's still worth it. This year, though, they closed for a few weeks for renovations and improvements and I had the chance to go to another location.

When I returned the renovations were not complete and there was no indication that it was open during construction. Today I went in for the last time. The water refill station is down, and I didn't really mind the bare patching of walls. What got me was a contractor that was just hanging around (not my business) until I walked up to a cleaning station to get a paper towel, and he started sanding the patching on the wall next to me. I got drywall dust all over me and the contractor just said "mucho polvo, no?" Without any apology or indication it wasn't on purpose. I'm asthmatic and while I take precautionary measures since I'm ready to work out, getting fine dust all over you isn't the best thing for your breathing. This was at around 7:30 AM today, 07/19/2023.

If you take the bus or have no other way of getting to another PF, you'll be alright here. But if you can, go to Downey's PF or Lynwood's PF.
