Horrible experience with Hammer Lane & trying to get ahold of District Manager, she doesnt return calls or help. We tried to cancel our membership in person at Hammer Lane, was told no because computers were down. Was not told you can cancel on app, was not told I had to cancel at original location we signed up. Was not told we had to cancel by the 11th. We were scammed out of $200. The manager at THIS March Lane finally & THANKFULL helped us, cancel. Not one other person, including the District Manager helped us. No way to get ahold of District Manager, she doesnt return calls. Just overall horrible experience with Hammer Lane but thankfully management at THIS March Lane location saved us. & also it wasnt easy to cancel on app either. I hope somebody sues. For all Planet Fitness says no lunks & theyre for the people, they will happily scam you out of money & make it impossible to cancel your membership

I joined this gym a couple months ago and overall it’s been a pretty good experience. The place is clean and the equipment looks well taken care of. The staff are friendly and usually greet you when you walk in, which is nice. It’s never overly crowded, even during peak hours, so I can get my workout done without waiting too long for machines. The only thing I wish they had was a few more stretching mats, but other than that it’s been great. Definitely a solid spot for regular workouts.

I know everyone has their own idea of what “clean” looks like, but the women’s locker room honestly feels like when you’re rushing to impress a guest and just shove everything into closets or under the bed to deal with later, except the “later” never happens. Like laundry!

The sink, toilet, and outer changing areas always look nice and put together, but the second you walk into the actual changing rooms or showers… it’s another story. It’s filthy.

I’ve mentioned it before since there’s that sign asking to report anything that’s not up to standard, but nothing was ever done. I shower here almost every day as this is my main location and half the time I feel like I might catch something resting against the walls. It’s definitely not the same across all Planet Fitness locations though. Hammer Lane is a little better, and Lodi and Manteca? Spotless.

A few weeks ago, I decided to speak up again (even though it gave me major anxiety because I hate coming off as a complainer), but the next day there was actual improvement! I talked to a woman named Judy, and when I asked how often the locker rooms get cleaned, she said “every 30 minutes” or something like that.

She happened to be there the next day, and I made sure to find her after my shower to personally thank her. It really meant a lot that she took my concern seriously and didn’t brush me off. Ever since then, the showers have been noticeably better, less mildew, less leftover hair and conditioner stains.

I totally get that it can get busy and people are constantly coming in and out, but that’s exactly why those 30-minute checks are supposed to happen I thought? There’s just no excuse for a wad of hair to stay in a shower for two weeks (sometimes a month!). I wish I was exaggerating.

Shoutout to Judy again, she’s always so kind and greets everyone when they come and go. I told her I’d leave a review, so here it is (even if it’s mixed in with my rant).

And hey, if you’re hiring a part-time custodian, I’ll gladly take the job. I’ll scrub that place top to bottom, I actually like cleaning!

If you are giving this place a 5 star review you must either work there or own it because after what I'm hearing about this place... somebody stole some items used a credit card at planet fitness on March lane, has it on video and will not cooperate. watch your stuff do not go to this place. People that won't help other people get their credit cards back after they clearly have it on a video they do not need to have anybody's business they were probably in on it to begin with

My girls wanted to workout so we join this place. Staff is nice and friendly. No intimidation in this gym. People just do any workout routine that they may have. But really busy on weekdays. I've been going for most of the summer and im so happy they just got a bunch of new equipment. The older stuff was fine but the new free weight platforms and weight loaded press machines just feel so much better! The layout is a little weird, but I still love the variety of equipment and don't have to wait too long to exercise on a machine I want.

love this gym and have been going for years but have noticed a change since renovations. I pay for a black card membership to have fresh paint and broken machines. There are a total of atleast 10 stairmasters and less than half work. They are missing the bottoms to most where you are supposed to land if an emergency happens and wires are exposed. I honestly keep this membership for the black card spa “perks” but i have been leaving without my services. I had one actually break when I was on it on February 23rd and it has not been fixed. The last three times I was in, I get put in my service and the door is locked. I go to the front counter and let them know and each time I’m met with confusion, which is understandable, and they go and open the door to “reset” it but it never goes on. so I end up leaving each time unless you call the club to let them know you are in their machine and it is not working again before getting fully redressed. I’m not sure if it’s their Tmax server that isn’t being manually reset since they do not go reset them each time, but it seems pointless to pay extra for this if this is something that also needs to be updated.

The worst ever.. They remolded and had a grand reopening.. While the roof was still leaking.. The same machines have been broke for months..I have to go to another planet fitness that is completely out of the way. And the people get on a machine and won't leave for over an hour which makes it hard

Went from 5 stars to 1 star. What’s the point of putting money into renovations just to skimp on sanitary stuff? There’s no toilet seat covers in women’s bathroom. They also took away paper towels that we use to wipe down equipment and replace it with ONE towel at every station that we all need to SHARE. This is transmitting sweat, germs and god knows what else.

This gym is horrible I used to like coming to this gym when management changed it all went downhill. New renovations thought it would be better came back worse they are not keeping the gym clean a lot of the machines are broken they don't have paper towels to wipe things down reusing microfiber towels and everyone's using the same towel nasty bathrooms filthy. I'm so disappointed with the progression of this gym. I've been a member since it first opened. Ever since the previous manager Ramon has left everything has declined. Equipment stays broken, it's so hot that I'm not sure how people are not passing out. It does not smell clean like it used too which was the biggest selling point. Bathrooms are atrocious constantly closed or out of order, it's uncomfortable and unsanitary. No circulation, doors are open. The perks used to be enough however putting gym members at risk with health conditions is ridiculous. If your staff are that cold then have them move more. Lack of drinks is constantly occuring. There's no joy in the staff anymore. I can say with great sadness I may be letting go of my membership here. You'd think a renovation would have sparked cleanliness and a well air controlled environment. I feel bad for your staff who do work hard, it's evident whomever is running it does not care about your guests overall experience. It's a constant sauna in here, and it smells awful. This is beyond disappointing.

Spoke with the front desk about the audio on the TVs not working. He said that he had reported it to management and submitting that report was the extent of his authority to get them working.

The remodel is pretty, but doesn't provide any added value. Like the episode of "Bob's Burgers" where Bob complains to the landlord about the hot brown water in the hand wash sink of the bathroom. The bathroom gets a complete remodel, and the actual problem is never fixed.

You would think that corporate listened to some flashy consultant instead of their customers. I intend to keep my membership because of the competitive price not because of the quality.

REVISION - remodel, really nice setup. They actually have benches in the dressing area! Yay! More machines so you don't have to wait so long now.

Joined with them on a Sunday online and then canceled my membership online 3 days later on Tuesday. Bathrooms are dirty, there is no gym etiquette by other members, you go to use a machine that no one is on and this guy comes up and says I am using this, when I walked up he was working out on another machine next to it, not sure if he was going back and forth but good gym etiquette is you can workout in between the other persons workout, in another share your work out, while they are between sets there is no reason another person can work out in between, then paying the PF Black membership for the perks but they don't check if you are a Black member and just let anybody use the extra perks, why should I pay for the higher membership if you are going to just let other that don't pay use them as well, I know they don't check and they never checked when I went to use them. Also, back to gym etiquette a lot of people don't wipe down the machines when they are done and can't put the weights back when done, as well as they put the dumbbells wherever they want and not back in the proper place. Highly disappointed. The Hammer Lane location is better but still no gym etiquette it's like they hold the machine hostage and just sit on them between sets, so nobody else can work in and I do not have all day to wait for people just to work out. Pretty dang rude, but I don't expect less in this city.

My experience at this gym has been extremely pleasant, the employees are nice and welcoming, the new machines are great, and the locker room remodel looks amazing. I’m a big fan of the functional training area with the hip thrust machines and the free weights. I recently tried their new cryo therapy after my workout and it was awesome! There is still a few things I asked about that they are actively working on like the wifi and also adding more disinfectant bottles. Overall the new gym smell is motivating and I’m here for it! 😁 Great job Planet Fitness!!

The hours SUCK on weekends! Having to wait until 7am on the weekends to work out is not customer service or serving customers! 6am would be better service. The amount of ppl lined up every weekend at 6:45am is like waiting for the mall to open on Black Friday. Close early on weekdays as an alternate, but weekends are for the customers. Open for us @ 6am!

And, fix some of the worn equipment! The pads are worn & torn on the stand up equipment where u do leg lifts. I’m tired of my elbows being sore/marked up.

This gym. Gets the job done. You can bring a water bottle and fill it up and just go into town. What physically you need to work on. The staff here are pretty polite. I do admit. This is my second time at a gym membership. I should’ve keep the old one. It was 10 bucks a month. I do recommend if you get a gym membership a planet fitness. Stick with it don’t cancel it..

Just remember when you get the classic membership, all you need to go is once a month and you pay for itself . Remodeling but it looks like things are getting done quickly. There’s nothing bad to say about this gym. Come and bring up friend.

Recently Joined on the Corporate level of PF memberships! So far not bad, very decent cleanliness wise, 98% of the fitness machines work properly and are functional and kept up. From what I've seen and experienced the vast majority of their clientele are well behaved, mature conduct, respectful of others and non-confrontational. So far I've only seen and heard one ongoing prolonged problem recently with a single "Karen" type, that was starting and carrying on a rant against various male customers in a co-ed area of the gym. She was addressed quickly with both male and female staff quietly, quickly and most of all professionally not to mention all the males in the area fled so as not to be singled out for further confrontations by this "Lady"! So all in all I give this PF a solid 4 Star rating. The only thing is they don't provide towels, but they will sell you a thin smaller than medium (but not small) low end quality towel for $10. If not for the towels it would have been 5 stars. Thanks

This location has shaped up a lot. But I would like to give a special review for the new guy my man Jovaughn. On numerous occasions he has gone above and beyond to help my wife and I. With various little things when needed. Most of all everytime we go to the club we are excited to be welcomed by him. He is always in good spirit, smiling, laughing and joking with us. The perfect college gym. It's affordable and contracts are easy to understand. The atmosphere is lively with all ages. The weights are always turning so if you don't find what you need available, just return after a set and it'll normally be freed. Dress code has gotten slack as the years went on but it doesn't hurt the atmosphere, instead I feel like it motivates others around. There is always staff available. The equipment is as clean as the people using it, don't be afraid to wipe it down before using any machine.

This place sucks now how is it 24 hours and now only 24 hours on Tuesday -Thursday doesn’t make sense for the longest time it’s been 24 hours all day every day is why I even signed up and go there also keep getting transactions took out my card more then once a month very disappointed if this continues I will not be returning back here I think it’s time for me to start looking else where they are false advertising saying 24 hours when it’s not if I could I give them a Negative Star

RAY is the worst manager I have ever encountered going to any establishment. RAY can't even handle a disgruntled customer asking questions without calling security on them. P.S. all I asked for is the store number and corporate number when Ray called security on me. Every answer was "you can find it online," and didn't want to handle anything. Up until calling security. RAY should be fired. Just know if you go here and have problems, RAY will laugh at you with other gym members, call security and won't help you. Horrible management!!!

Did 30min workout while in there 8 people came and went 3 used sanitation to wipe down their machines.. showers are dirty and no place to set soap or shampoo.. changing room is empty no chairs no benches nothing.. the machines on the floor are ok tho some have bearing issues...staff could care less about anything

Changed the hours from 24/7 which is the main reason many people go to this gym. Extremely disappointing, if managment is reading this , please open then gym at 4am Monday through Friday, for those who have to work busy schedules .

An Unpleasant Experience Due to Employee Behavior

I had a bad experience with a worker named Gio at Planet Fitness. I went there to relieve stress through a workout, but Gio was rude and unfriendly. This has happened more than once, making the whole experience at Planet Fitness not so great.
On the day it happened, I wasn't feeling good emotionally, and I thought working out would help. But Gio's attitude not only ruined my workout but also made my whole day worse. It's disappointing that a staff member could be so unfriendly in a place that should care about customers.I had an overdue balance, and I was aware of it. I planned to go in and pay it, but when I walked up, the guy was already in a bad mood. I tried to be friendly, but right after he saw me scan, he said, "You can't work out today. You have an overdue balance. If you don't pay it, you gotta go." This caught me off guard, and I even thought about canceling right there and then. However, I didn't want to waste my time or give him the satisfaction.
I want to mention that there was one positive experience with another staff member, a girl with dye hair. She treated me well, which stood out compared to the negative experiences with Gio.
Because of these ongoing issues, I'm thinking about switching to another gym where I can feel valued and respected. I hope this review makes Planet Fitness pay attention and improve how their staff is trained, creating a friendlier environment for everyone.
