I'm a member at different clubs for different reasons. However, my best experience and interactions are at PF Torrance. Keith and TanR (management) are professional and will go the extra mile to help with any issues a member may have. Although, the entire staff is worthy of praise - Yanni would be my MVP - I observed Yanni display the patience of a Nun ☺️she was incredibly nice and helpful to 3 elderly ladies.

It was like watching a "Hallmark" special. Honestly, I would have weaseled my way out of what I perceived to be an exhaustive exercise of customer service. However, around the 20min mark I appreciated her efforts and how shallow my thinking was. I thought about how I would want someone to treat an elderly family member. Management is top notch but Yanni is an absolute star!

I am not one to write negative reviews, but the music is so obnoxiously loud that it made my entire experience today miserable. The place is clean and the staff are nice, but you can’t have music blaring so loud that you can hear it over your headphones and it makes you want to run away when you take them off. I have been traveling the US for over 15 months and been to hundreds of different Planet Fitness locations and have never had music so loud! And the staff says there is nothing they can do about it! How can you take pride in your gym but not in your customers comfort level…..

As economical as this gym seems—it’s a net negative in the end. This gym is so packed all the time—7 am on Saturday mornings, 3 pm on Wednesdays…ALL the time. So much so, that you can’t get a decent workout in without waiting 10-20 minutes for pieces of equipment. Want to use a smith machine? Best of luck. There were always 2-5 people waiting for one. Not even worth the $15 or $25 a month.

I am a regular member here and the staff is always nice respectful and direct with me.Today I misplaced my purse and they helped me every step of the way.They went above and beyond!To the team that was there between 11 ish -12 ish on Friday September 12 2025 today you are awesome and you all deserve raises! used to be 5 stars. Some months ago they had "work" done to the air conditioning there. Now it's very cold in the place. I suggest layering up unless you like working out no sweat and chills......I have updated this review to 1 star. Too make a long story short, I left my expensive Oakley sunglasses in the tanning room on top of the paper towel dispenser on accident. When I went back in a couple of minutes they were gone. The only person who went into that room ON THEIR SECURITY CAMERA was a employee DESTINY. She was questioned, and said she didn't take them. I filed a formal complaint that was filled out by the manager Keith. Nothing was done, they continue to employ thieves. If you get to this location keep a eye on your things or keep them under lock and key . A visit cost me over a hundred dollars that day.

I followed the exact cancellation instructions provided by Planet Fitness Member Services, which clearly stated: "Cancellations must be received by the 25th of the previous month to avoid the annual fee charged on the 1st." I cancelled on July 25th yet I was still charged a $49 annual membership fee in August.

I had only been a member for about 10 weeks while I'm in town for a summer internship, and this fee felt completely unfair. When I called to resolve the issue, the front desk agent was dismissive and unhelpful, telling me I’d need to physically come into the gym and bring documentation just to request a refund. That’s unacceptable in 2025.

Planet Fitness talks a big game about being judgment-free, but this felt like a money grab.

First the positives: all of the staff are nice and I love the attention to cleanliness. The negatives: the music. It is unnecessary. Almost everyone has headphones. For me, I don't like it anywhere in the building. The second thing is that it seems like at least one weight machine is ALWAYS broken. I do understand there are many people who use the equipment and not always correctly. However, it would be helpful if the staff were briefed enough to gently correct people wo are using things incorrectly.

The last few times that I have gone in to this Planet Fitness I always ask which room has the newer bulbs I am met with attitude and then I'm informed room 7 but that's not true those bulbs are lukewarm appears to me that it is a waste of my membership and you need to get a whole new staff.
I miss the old staff that were very accommodating they were also very friendly these kids rather stand around talking about their weekends rather than to work

Went in for my morning workout and had HORRIBLE customer service today. I was on the water rowing machines and neither monitor was working so I went to the desk and was assured by George. He stated it neeeded batteries and only replaces one of the machines batteries even though I told him BOTH of the machines needed batteries. Then when I was using the machine the monitor kept freezing. I went back to the desk and George was not available. So I was assisted by Yanni who was VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! She said she would leave a note for George to replace the other machine batteries. I said I could replace them so I can continue my workout. She said she didn’t know where the batteries were which I knew was a LIE and she didn’t want to bother to help a customer and couldn’t be bothered to leave the desk. I find it hard to believe employees don’t know where batteries are to fix equipment. I told her she just ruined my workout & her attitude was she could care less. When I asked what her name was she told me don’t worry about it. Again HORRIBLE service and NOT how you treat customers. I asked for a manager and was told Keith doesn’t work on the weekends.

Keith you need to train. Your employees on how important it is to treat customers with respect and to help them. I have a very busy schedule and it’s not easy for me to always get my workouts in. I work two jobs and I wasn’t asking for anything difficult.

So basically if you are just coming here for a work out and not have to ask questions you will be fine. If you need help these employees especially Yanni doesn’t want to help if she has to leave the front desk. She definitely needs to be retrained and I will be checking out other planet fitness gyms in my area. I really hope the manger at this location trains his employees on what real customer service is and how to make customers happy especially since I am paying more with a black card . Very disappointed in this gym today.

I love the attentive staff every morning when I walk in. I get there at 6am most days, and there is always someone excited to greet me. The machines are always working, and if one goes down, it's not down for over 2 days. Staff is cleaning regularly and making sure that the space is presentable and spotless. The bathrooms are always fully stocked and immaculate! Honestly, Planet Fitness Torrance has been my best gym experience, and I've been a trainer for 20+ years in and out of a plethora of gyms.

So I guess it's someones idea to turn off the hot water at this location and Carson!! I came to this nasty ssa gym to get a hot shower after my workout and it's freezing cold like Carson. I don't believe in coincidences so what are y'all trying to save money!! Torrance showers also smell terrible, sinks disgusting with mold around them, shower gunked with hair and dust all on walls. I was in love with all PF. But this one had a employee in the woman's locker room on facetime with her boyfriend all while holding her cellphone up talking loud for some odd reason. while me and 3 other woman in there getting dressed. I turned around to see if we where in the background of her facetime. yup! we were! her boyfriend looking at us and I'm looking at her & her boyfriend on facetime. I spoke with the manager. He said she was a new hire & will speak to her about it. welp, oddly enough she was standing in front of the mirror with the sign that warns everyone about no cellphones in the locker room. other then that. it's clean and at times the water can get nice & hot. other times it can be lukewarm. Be careful the staff will come into the locker room and have you in there background while they on facetime as they carry on a full blown loud convo. 😨

The worst. As a travel nurse I’ve used planet fitness in many different areas. I get off work 2am go to PF in whichever area take a 15 minute Power Nap in my car front seat then I work out. Here a strange woman who I assumed worked their sue to her attire African American loud was yelling into cars looking to see who was in them for personal reasons. As a sinks traveler who prioritizes safety this is very disturbing and weird. Was this woman attempting thefts? I was so scared I pulled off and went to speak with the proper authorities. This location is very unsafe employees are looking into cars. She also shouted as she looked in my car “ someone is sleep in the front seat of that mug” thank god I wasn’t fully sleep just a power nap who knows what she would have done.

This experience led me to pause my visits for nearly a year, despite continued membership fees, as it didn’t reflect the welcoming environment I had expected.

Actions like these contradict Planet Fitness’s mission to provide a space where everyone can feel accepted, respected, and like they belong.

When trainers impose personal judgments or create their own policies toward individual members, it risks alienating those who depend on Planet Fitness for a supportive and inclusive community.

The “Judgment Free Zone®” is vital to creating a space where individuals of all fitness levels feel comfortable, supported, and motivated.

Allowing behavior that undermines this mission jeopardizes the trust and inclusivity that are fundamental to Planet Fitness’s success.

Sad but true too many times in America. The wealthy areas have PF Gyms with steaming hot water that never seems to run out while the poors get luke warm piss temperature water with barely any water pressure. It's almost as if we are a classist/racist society or something. I once read that in a book in college.

I have no doubt visited every PF gym from LA to San Diego because I drive a lot for work and need to stop by for workouts/showers. There's no excuse in 2024 America to not offer steaming hot showers. If I go to the Coasta Mesa PF where everyone has money and look a certain way, all of a sudden, they have hot water....amazing right? It's like magic or something. I canceled this service on April 30th. Since then, I have made numerous attempts to call and visit the location to finalize my cancellation. Each time I try to cancel, I find that only the manager can assist me, but the manager is often out of town or unavailable. They have also been unable to provide me with a phone number or email address for further contact.

I even called corporate, but they were unable to help me either. It feels impossible to complete this cancellation process. I have gone over my situation with the manager several times and filled out the necessary forms, yet I am still not receiving any responses.

To make matters worse, they charged my card without my authorization and applied several late fees, despite my cancellation.

Pretty typical planet fitness. My main gripe is that the water pressure is so low that I can’t rinse shampoo out of my hair effectively and there is no hot water at all, only lukewarm for a few minutes and then cold (I usually go between 2am-4am). Also the water bottle refill station dispenses room temperature water which is a little different than any other planet fitness I’ve been to.

At around 3:50 pm today, I walked up to one of the curl machines for my last workout. I said hi to the guy using it while he was resting and asked him how many more reps he had left.

He ignored me and mumbled something under his breath that sounded rude. I stood there for about 40 seconds and asked him again.

He looked up and said, "Never, and you don't belong here." I asked, "What do you mean I don't belong here? You must be racist or xenophobic."

He got up and left the machine, so I went to get one of the assistant managers, whose name I believe is "Tanair."

I told him that I thought we had a racist or xenophobe here.

"Tanair" walked over to the guy with me and then took us both to a quieter area to ask what happened. I explained the situation, and "Tanair" asked the guy. The guy said he had been coming to the gym regularly, and no one had ever approached him with that question before.

Interestingly, instead of addressing what the guy said, "Tanair" started lecturing me about the first-come, first-served policy. His whole attitude was dismissive; he tried to blame me for asking the guy how many more reps he had left. I told him that's not the issue.

I walked away because I found "Tanair's" behavior biased. He never really listened and didn't know how to handle conflicts with facts.

I wonder if his bias is due to a lack of training, incompetence, or the fact that I have a different accent.

I found his behavior appalling.

Horrible customer service. Lady at the desk turned me away cause she told me my membership hasn’t yet been transferred. I thought I did three months ago when I paid 5 bucks. She told me that’s just to use the gym for the day. I asked for a expection for a military vet. Nope. Had to go all the way home and transfer it online. Phone call didn’t work. Never coming back. Canceling my membership right now. Horrible.

The staff is so friendly and personable. The gym is always clean and I love the operating hours! 24/7 with the exception of reduced hours on Thanksgiving and being closed on Christmas.

This place has only one "Machine Fly" and 99% of the time it is occupied. Does the management go around and observe what types of machines and equipment are lacking and which ones are extra? For example, we need more bench press and machine fly. You could easily cut 20% running treadmill and bicycles, which, most of the time, around 50% of them are not in use. Efficiency is everything.

Of all the PF gyms I’ve been to, this is by far my best experience. The staff is always friendly, the machines are great, and it’s just an overall great atmosphere. Showers and restroom are clean, and the hydro massage beds are amazing( especially number 3!) I would definitely suggest this one if you’re thinking about joining!

I’ve had the worse experience at this location. I really wanted to keep my membership here, but some of these staff members are so rude. I’ve gotten this more from the evening shift. A couple of the girls need an attitude adjustment, and some of the guys come off really aggressive. I felt so unwelcomed that I cancelled my membership. I’d say the best location for planet fitness would be the Alhambra location. I give this 2 stars because it’s clean and 24 hours, but some of the staff members act like it’s Burger King.

3 employees pulled up in an Black Jeep SRT next to me in the parking lot. I wouldn't have noticed except that the driver swung her door open into mine so hard it shook my vehicle-- once she realized someone was in here she got back in and pulled forward into the next spot-- SHE DINGED MY DOOR. She knew she did.

I'm PF Blackcard member passing through town on a family visit and was about to come in to use this gym.

3 employees waking in with burgers and drinks. 2 girls and a guy. About 215pm Monday. I'm too pissed to come in.
