As far as planet fitness is concerned, this is exactly what you should expect. Lots of cardio machines, lots of lifting machines. Just like all of them, it's lacking in free weights (dumbbells).

But other than that, it's pretty nice at this one. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is they don't have some equipment that a couple other ones have. An example is decline benches. Not a big deal, but those are nice to use sometimes.

This facility is always clean and well lit,
In the mornings you will be greeted by the staff. Alec and Shawntay are extremely personable. You will find that staff goes around every hour with a cart to restock towels and wipe down any equipment that needs it. There is nothing to complain about this establishment. I’ve been a part of 24 fitness and anytime fitness, for the value that Planet fitness offers YOU WILL NOT FIND A MORE SUITABLE GYM! Unless you wand a pool and a sauna, but at least we have tanning beds and booths with massaging tables and chairs. I don’t think the competition has those amenities. Over all this is a 5/5 Star Facility.

Night and day difference from when I first started coming here last year to now. Ever since there has been a management shift a lot of the amazing employees that used to work here seem to have been driven out. There are still some amazing employees that improve the gym experience here but not like it used to be. Under the new management cleanliness has gone down drastically. They seem more concerned with quadruple checking my black card status every single day then they do about customer service. I'm literally in the facility 5-7 times a week and the price is great for what you get but I don't feel welcomed like I used to. Hopefully things will get better.

Update 1: After multiple attempts, over weeks, to get the missing clips and down machines fixed all I get is excuses. Dropped this from a 4-star to a 1-star.

As someone that travels a lot and frequents a lot of Planet Fitness facilities, I am very disappointed with the performance of this location. I expected better Planet Fitness.

Update 2: Apparently there is a maintenance guy in charge of the east bay all the way out to Vacaville (a dozen locations) and any request is weeks to months out! Worst run location I have ever seen. They are not interested in keep a well maintained gym for its members. Shame.

Final Update: Mist be because I am the only member to care, but now I am being told I have to pay a $5 “franchise fee” every time I show up. Way to not make a guy feel welcome. This is the worst Planet Fitness I have ever visited and that is saying a lot with how much I travel. I went to the Fairfield, CA location and it is 1,000 times better. I will never be going back here. -5 stars

In a desperate attempt of control they tell me I can't have a backpack aka my gym bag with me while I workout. I asked why and got a horrible answer of "that's just policy" 🤔

Manager in the morning/afternoon is the most unprofessional person. I was trying to unfreeze my account since I was on medical leave. I couldn’t even unfreeze it “because I had to wait till the next billing cycle” I offered to pay and she said that wasn’t an option. I’m super disappointed and I am actually canceling my monthly membership. I’ve probably kept this membership longer than I should’ve. But so many factors were keeping me here. The other night I came in to quite the disappointment. My favorite part of planet fitness was a 30 minute circuit workout. There was a dedicated station to work out my entire body in 30 minutes. And to my sad surprise when I walked in, the yellow room had been dismantled and the equipment had been randomly placed around the gym, with no rhyme or reason. Why?

Management is extremely unprofessional. Gym is filthy and gross. Cleaning is there last concern. They have enough equipment for a highschool football team. Don’t get your hopes up about coming here. This gym is in a great location. It is clean and I always see someone on the floor doing cleaning rounds as well as in the bathroom. The Total Body Enhancement machine is clean. There is a reasonable amount of equipement although it can ger busy so there may be a wait. The staff are welcoming and pleasant.

Has anyone else noticed how much dust aka dead skin cells is just lying around all over the gym?! 🤢 I've noticed it more since they brought the new equipment in. The new equipment is nice, I just wish they had more ellipticals and less weight lifting shit, I do all my lifting and calisthenics at home and mainly just come for their machines to run b/c I don't have a machine at home, but I do have a weight lifting set (who doesn't if they're truly into fitness) anyways, when I first come into the gym I'm not even greeted anymore b/c the gym attendants are too involved in their own conversations, I've never seen a group of ppl at work not do any work like them, but I swear all they do is get paid to talk to each other and stand their all day and do absolutely no cleaning. Every where I've always worked, it's always been, "if there's time to lean, there's time to clean", maybe the attendants can actually start doing their jobs a dust the gym a little, then it would be clean and company hours would be used wisely. Just saying planet fitness, you need to monitor your workers a little more and actually make them work, otherwise fire them 💁🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ otherwise it would be a nice clean gym, but it's not as of rn. Hopefully something gets done abt this soon or I'll literally just have to switch to in shape for my health, that way I won't get sick.

Was told there's personal trainers but so far this location and one other that I checked do not have any. The 30 minute work out area has people hanging out doing it at their own pace instead of following the plan, or just sitting on machines playing games on their phones. Place is always crowded no matter the day or time. They say to join a small class but those do not exist either. The hydrobeds always have 1 or 2 broken not sure why. I know of a different gym outside the area that has never had one broken in 3 years that my husband has been going there. Not well maintained and false offers. The young people working the desk will say hello but never look up from their phones.

Tried to cancel was told just go to the app, but you can't, called the local gym was told to just email, now being told no you have to come in. This place is a joke no one knows their heads from a hole in the ground. So yes with a medical issue I will come in and do this.

Went into see if I liked what's offered @ Planet Fitness. Before joining and what membership fits my needs.
The staff was very informative. I even got to sit in the hydro chair. For a few minutes.
This is an excellent deal. Hour 24/7. Black card has nice perks. But lockeroom, shower bring your own lock and key 🔐 No biggie. Large facility lots of machines.

Employee made false accusations and called the cops on me, only to be called a liar and bad tempered by the police. I’m still waiting for management or corporate to to right the wrong, I did not deserve the roid rage and exaggerated lies that got me banned. The fact that police watched the footage on the security cameras and took sides with me shows how spiteful the employee is. It's very unfortunate that you you cannot lock your goods up in the locker rooms. I prefer not to walk around with my keys and gym bag but now I know why so many people do. I've been a member for many years and never had a problem. Lately the locker rooms have been very sketchy and my belongings being stolen has made me not want to utilize the lockers at all. There are always people hanging out in there charging their phones and watching videos or even sports games. There used to be more staff that was actively cleaning and walking around the gym making their presence was known. These days you'll be lucky if they even look up from their phone when you walk through the door. I understand that the gym cannot be responsible for the lockers and people stealing but you can atleast put some effort into prevention. Im hoping things improve. I will not be leaving because of a theft. This has been a good gym and location and I hope this was only and isolated incident. To any new members I would be very cautious of your surroundings and what you store. One last note before I get off my soap box Not all of the employees have poor customer service, its just been a while.

Planet Fitness goes above and beyond for the community and I am so thankful for that.
They’re doing a “lot it your kids in the gym” thing for the summer (ages 14-19) during the day.
Both my kids are Wrestler’s so they Love this and it gets them out of the house, and not running the streets!
Planet Fitness has All the essentials + additional stuff like a massage table thing and tanning. They don’t have a pool but Im 100% okay with that. the employees are great as well! Perfect group of younger people to do this job. Planet Fitness clearly takes their time hiring staff because there is not 1 “bad” employee- They’re ALL great and helpful.

Just recently transferred from another city/ gym. When I first showed up (midday) the staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to immediately take a tour. The signup process is a little different, you do it yourself on a tablet, and you will need a routing number for membership fees. But, you can pay all of your startup with a card. Signup fee and yearly cost is a little higher than I'd like ($40) but I'm happy w the $10/mo membership. There is plenty of equipment to use, and they're open 24/7. So, the cost is worth it to me (I like to workout at night). All equipment looks to be maintained well, and the variety makes sure you can work whatever group you need. If you Pay a little more a month, you have access to special amenities (red light chamber, hydro massage, chair massage, tanning beds, training, guest passes, and use of sister locations). Not for me for now, but can see upgrading in the future.

I think that this is a great location with an open concept and plenty of space with a lot less people than normal. But I am a black card member visiting a friend and apparently if I want to lay in the water massage bed, my guest cannot join. What harm are they doing? I have been to several PF locations around the country and they have never given me this issue before. If this is a policy change, then they need to change it back. I was very upset that my guest got turned away, and I was insulted that they made me feel like less important of a customer in the process.

I have a Black Card membership at PF because my job requires me to travel quite a bit in NorCal and SoCal so I have access to all PF gyms when I am away from my home gym. I rate the Vacaville location at or near the top of the +12 PF locations I have worked out at. Very clean, spacious, well-maintained equipment, good overall vibe in the gym and friendly staff. Because the gym is large with many duplicate pieces of equipment wait times are non existent even during the 6 pm time period when the work crowd is at the gym. Just a very nice atmosphere to get a work out in after work.
