The cleanliness is great but the one complaint is the fact that the front desk controls the music. One of the receptionists that’s always here either plays heavy metal or the worst type of jazz music imaginable. We are trying to work out and get a good pump not listen to your horrible taste in music. Please let the patrons choose. Isn’t that why you have the app?

Terrible service and inflexibility with premium members

Had an absolutely frustrating experience at this gym. My phone broke right before my workout and I brought my driver's license as ID, thinking that would be sufficient to access the facilities.

The problem: Staff flat-out refused to let me use the gym because I "needed a smartphone" for check-in. When I explained my phone was broken and showed my license, they said they couldn't verify my membership without the mobile app.

Most outrageous part:I have the PREMIUM membership that allows me to visit any gym in the chain, but they denied me access because this "wasn't my home gym." So what's the point of having the premium membership if I can't use it when I need it?

No backup systems: It's unacceptable that in 2025 they don't have an alternative system to verify memberships. What happens to people who don't own smartphones? What about elderly members? They told me they "don't have access to the member database" from the front desk, which sounds like a cheap excuse.

Non-existent customer service: Staff was inflexible and unprofessional. They offered no alternative solutions and showed no willingness to help a paying member.

Would not recommend:If you're looking for a gym that values its members and has functional systems, look elsewhere. It's a shame because the facilities are decent, but the service is terrible.

BEWARE OF CANCELATION FEES. Even if you cancel your membership, if you dont cancel by the 27th, you will be charged THE ANNUAL FEE. The worker Raul failed to mention that to me when I signed paperwork to cancel my membership at this location. I have been a member since 2021 and despite my loyalty, they refused to give me a refund. I cancelled in August yet I woke up to a FOURTY DOLLAR annual fee. I called multiple times and even the manager said there is nothing they can do on their end. I will be calling corporate because it is unbelievable that they still charge members to CANCEL. They should be transparent and open about these expectations. However, Raul failed to communicate this to me. Planet fitness is not worth all this hassle and I will NEVER step foot into this gym again.

El local es amplio, limpio y el 99% de su personal es muy amable. Tengo la membresía Black carb sqa. Está membresía te permite visitar varios locales y usar el ambiente de masajes (sillones) se paga un poquito más pero te puedes relajar. El tiempo del uso de sillones es de 10 minutos, por lo menos en los locales de Azusa, San Dimas e incluso West Covina Los he usado así sin pedirlo y para mí se hizo normal. Sin embargo la Srta. Jordan me atendió en 3 oportunidades me asignaba 5 minutos, en la última interacción le dije porque el cambio con ella, que no entendía el porque y me dijo que ella asignaba 5 minutos, le expuse lo indicado anteriormente y me indicó que otros locales no era igual que el de West Covina, le dije que en su local me asignaban 10 minutos y puso en duda lo que le dije. Pedí hablar con su supervisor y me dijo que era ella la supervisora y que no podía hablar con nadie, le comenté que presentaría me reclamo y que reconsidere su decisión y me dijo que si deseo me podía dar el teléfono para quejarme le dije que no, que gracias que yo haría mi reporte por la app del gimnasio. Hice mi reclamo por la app, me llamaron ayer y me dijeron que respaldaban a su supervisora, que solo tengo derecho a 5 minutos que lo lamentan por mi. Le dije que gracias por su tiempo y que una empresa que no escucha a su cliente está mal encaminada y que no volveré mientras sigan actuando sin importar la opinión de un cliente. This location here is much better than the Covina location on Azusa Ave.

At this location here they don't have all their equipment (Machines) right next to each other, where you feel like you can't even workout and you're going to bump into the person next to you or in front of you since they're so closed together like the Covina location on Azusa Ave.

Here you actually have room to do your workouts, not overly crowded with machines being placed so closed to each other and best of all enough treadmills for everyone to use, no waiting here to use the treadmills.

Also these treadmills are much better than the new ones they got at the covina location. I see the staff here putting in work, cleaning the machines and under the treadmills. They keep up with all their equipment here, I don't often see out of service signs here like other locations, where their equipment is often out of order. So clean gym, clean equipment, clean locker rooms, clean showers and restrooms.

Their cleaning stations are well maintained they always have paper towels and cleaning spray. Moving on to P.F staff, "for the most part", here they are much friendlier, welcoming attitudes, professional and greet you on your way in and out of the gym unlike other locations in the area.

Best times to get your workout in, I would say early mornings. Overall best P.F around the area.

Update on my review- I’ve been asking the staff and managers at this PF for the simple channel change for TV6 since I posted the initial review over a month ago. Still nothing. I guess that’s customer service these days

I’ve been going here for 2 years now and they do a great job cleaning. The only issue I have is I asked management and the staff to keep the Travel channel for over 6 months. Each time staff says they will bring it up to the owner but it never happens. My previous PF Oakland the team would change the channel with the remote for you. Instead of the travel channel it was MTV and now Fox. Clearly, the channels can be changed at free will but the staff won’t even bother helping. ABC Channel 7 isn’t playing anymore and it should be they are the ones that promote PF on New Years Eve.

Clean gym. Nice and cold, but not too cold in my opinion. I overheat so it’s a plus. I moved to this gym from Crunch Fitness due to the hours I’d like to go. Around midnight. Crunch closed around 11:00 pm so it’s just a waste for me. Mostly machine type weights here. True free weights only consist of the dumbbells and the rack to the left. To be honest, sometimes, all you need is the machines. There are plenty of other balancing exercises you can do with dumbbells anyways. The big thing is that you can progress up in weights/ get stronger.

I currently have the black card membership. Honestly, pretty worth it. The massage machines really help after a heavy back day. I can’t say much about the other two amenities. The tanning I don’t use. I’m already tan. The red machine thing really has me curious though. I’ll have to try it.

I came here to this location and was denied access to the gym due to the fact I got a new phone and didn’t have access to the app. (Provided my phone number)
This gentleman jumped in front of his co worker and just told me to leave.
Such a small issue turned into me never going to this gym again.
My advice to corporate is please make sure your “management” has basic customer service. I will keep my friends and family away from this location for sure.

This is my weekday gym, because of the time I usually go (5:30-7:30 M-F) it is often very busy. However, if you go in with a plan that has some alternatives, you rarely have to wait for equipment. Biggest drawback is that it sometimes has a very peculiar oder. It doesn't stink, but doesn't smell nice either. Located right next to a Walmart, sprouts and target, which is a huge plus!

I started coming here beginning of August. My regular time is 5AM. The crew usually changes up between a few people but let me tell you they are all amazing! Always cleaning and disinfecting the machines, refilling the disinfectant sprays, paper towels. Restrooms are always clean. I live in Ontario and that’s my “home gym” but I come here to work out and shower before work. The difference between my home gym in Ontario and this one is night and day! The staff here are always friendly and helpful. Good job guys. You all are great !

You know. Planet Fitness advertises it “crowd tracker” quite heavily. It’s extremely frustrating when it does not work. The app says this gym is basically empty. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to come to a less crowded gym. Walk in. Full. People everywhere. Not only that but it was hot and musty as well. It’s extremely frustrating when your front desk staff has no idea about the app either. But it’s understandable. Two were laughing on one phone huddled together. The other was way more invested in chatting up a friend. Also, the restroom was pretty janky.

First off, I called to see if I could cancel or if there was a contract bc the app wouldn’t show me and they looked at my act and said I just needed to come in and cancel no problem. Made the drive- get there and they tell me actually you’re on a contract you’ll have to pay a buyout fee. Wasted my time and very frustrating bc I had other important stuff going on but went then bc guy on phone said he could give me refund for another charge they just charged me.

Also, this company has been stealing from its members as long as I can remember including my husband who’s gym membership we’ve been trying to cancel for TWO YEARS! They constantly give the run around nd have been stealing 10$ a month from him ever since. We’ve written letters, called and emailed to cancel to no avail.

Sadly, this gym is going down the drain. The machines are not properly maintained. The bicep curl machine has a ripped pad for months, and no one cares to replace it. Some of the weight machines feel stuck and don't give you the smooth motion that you are looking for when weight training.

When I call about this extra charge. All I got was, I don't see it and I would have to email customer service about it. I am the customer and showing you the extra charge on my online bank app. Like you asked to show proof. So I stop going to covina planet fitness and resigned with the new planet fitness at Eastland shopping center. Same thing. Lazy, rude and unprofessional employees that don't understand the importance of great customer service. It all starts with a smile and proper communication. Also the same thing. 6 months in they double charged me one month January 2022. Went throgh the same thing, And this time I did email customer service. 3 weeks later I get an email that I should get a refund. Never got it. May 2022 they charge monthly the $22 and a week later $10 and week later another $22. Call the planet fitness at the Eastland shopping center and they give me a number to call after explaining the issue that they can't even resolve or like they say, I don't see the charge. So I call the number and they also don't see the charge. After disputing it for about 30 minutes. The representative tells me it's because of a late fee. I say How is that if you take it out automatically out of my bank. Also you have me for 30 minutes telling me you don't see the charge. Just a bunch of excuses. But that's what I get for coming here for the price. Rather oay a little more just so I don't get ripped off and the worst customer service representative at the gym and on the phone. Need to stop pointing fingers at each other and just be honest and resolve the issue. Hire some gym employees that care and have some understanding on how important is customer service. It goes a long way to maintain a business. I did research other local gyms and I love paying the extra $10 Yes $30 total and I get better service and no over charges and much cleaner. Do your online research before signing with planet fitness.There are free day trial at other gyms. Check it out and you'll see and compare the gym and service to planet fitness. I recently started attending plane fitness and my experience has been awesome so far. When we first arrived, we were given a tour by a friendly staff member, and he answered any questions we had. They do have a lot of equipment, but it would be more beneficial to have more Smith Machines as they only have 3 and that creates a big wait for them when others want to use them. Joined PF today after years of being a 24 hr fitness member - I am so impressed! Facilities were SO CLEAN, didn’t have to wait for a single machine, and it was not crowded. On top of that, there are tons of extra amenities like showers, hydro massage, etc. Staff was polite and overall atmosphere was not intimidating like some other gyms. Keep in mind that building a fit body is a milestone not a finish line. After a year and a half of absence we’re finally back. Planet Fitness is a franchise health club gym that is dedicated to fitness and health. They have different locations across Southern California. This location is clean, neat and organized. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking lot is available. Monthly price was bargain and reasonable. Overall, it’s a great gym and location.

Beautiful new location and therefore VERY clean and everything looks and smells new. Just transferred. Conveniently located right next to everywhere I shop and bank.

I switched PF locations just prior to the Stay at Home Order in California. I was nervous about returning to the gym, but this location seems well prepared.

I visited around 4pm and every other machine was turned off with a nice reminder about social "fitnessing."

The cleaning stations were well stocked, and check in was touchless as well.

The women's showers and locker rooms were in great shape and allow for plenty of distancing.

I will say this does feel like a smaller location that the Covina location on Arrow Hwy.
