I was kicked out of the gym because I complained about how filthy the gym bathroom is always dirty. I was going to leave anyway., because I was ignored, and they acted like it was a bother to clean.up planet fitness. They don't care about having a healthy environment. Only getting your money. They don't keep the showers clean, nor supply us with the necessary cleaning supplies to clean machines, and clean the showers. Even get upset if you say something. They are filthy.
Hair on walls, and drainage, and on the floor for days sometimes. One time it was there for 3 days. I took a picture of it. To show the manager. Toilet paper all over on floor.
Getting hair on your toes that isn't yours is gross. But the staff doesn't care. The manager acts like she cares, but doesn't really. It's sad that they don't care about a better image. The clients pay their salary.

Story time on how I got harassed at Planet fitness 2 times in yuba city!

I was just at the planet fitness in yuba city, when I got hate crimed, AGAIN! The first time it happened, I was taking my rest and getting some water when an old man tap my shoulder asking me how many sets I had. I didn’t really care because he is old and probably wanted to see when the machine is done. I almost done, then he comes up starts harassing me saying I was sitting on my ass the whole time I was there. He then said he’ll get a manager and he ended up walking to the front to get an employee. I told him that the other machine was open for him to go there, and he told ME to go to ANOTHER MACHINE. The manager gave us a free month and gave a warning to the other man. TODAY, I’m doing my leg workout again 😂, then an old lady comes by snaps in my face saying “wakey, wakey” I got creeped out and gave her a dirty look. Then this other OLD lady came up to me asking me for my sets. (Turns out the old man from before sent her to me to harass me!) I told her 3 more sets and she can have the machine. She walks away and I told my sister what happen. Then the same old lady came back and started telling me to hurry up snapping her fingers like I’m a dog. “We don’t have all day other people have too do a workout in their time spans” keep in mind, the same machine I was doing, the other one of it was OPEN.. OPEN!! She ended up getting an employee, and the worker came. I blocked her with my hand because she was like yelling when I’m talking to the worker. She SLAPS MY HAND AND TRIES TO PUSH ME. The worker took us to the front to fill out a form. Turns out you can’t even change your music when you want too?

I love my gym! But I want to give and extra Kudo to an employee, Wendy, she works the early shift. Not only is she aray of sunshine, she always has the sweetest smile. I always know when Wendy is working, all the stations are full with paper towels and disinfectant, she is always cleaning, she makes sure the gym is spotless. You have a jewel, she deserves a big raise!

Subject: Incident Report – Staff Conduct, Policy Clarification, and Perception Issues

Dear management team / Planet Fitness Corporate,

I’m writing to formally document a concern that occurred at your Yuba Sutter Marketplace Planet Fitness on Wednesday, May 21st 2025, and to share some broader observations.

After completing my workout, I left briefly to grab my shower bag from my car and informed the front desk I’d be returning. As I walked back in with my collapsed tripod in hand (used only to hold my phone upright so I can view timers and workout demos), I was stopped by a manager who questioned whether I was using it to film. I explained clearly that I do not record anything in the gym and that I use the stand solely to avoid placing my phone on the floor or in my pocket.

Despite this, the manager continued to press the issue and cited a policy against tripods on the gym floor. I responded that another manager had previously told me it was acceptable so long as it wasn’t extended and didn’t pose a hazard or involve recording. The manager stated that if anyone complained, we’d “revisit” the conversation, which I found unnecessary and accusatory, especially since I was upfront and respectful in my response.

After taking my shower, I returned to follow up and file an incident report, as I felt publicly accused of something I didn’t do. At that time, I found that:

The manager was gone, and

None of the staff present were wearing name tags, nor did they know how to locate or process an incident report.

While trying to explain why I felt the need to file the report, another staff member interjected (Carlos) and said “there was no incident” and that “it looks like you’re recording,” which only reinforced the false impression I was trying to clarify.

I want to be clear: I’ve never used my phone to record anything in the gym, and I care deeply about respecting others’ privacy and following club rules. That said, I’ve decided to stop bringing my tripod altogether—not because I’ve done anything wrong, but because I don’t want to be falsely accused again or viewed by staff or members as expecting special treatment.

That brings me to one final concern. Since we’re talking about perceptions, I’ve noticed that during several recent visits to the gym, there are often five or six staff members gathered at the front desk for extended periods, laughing, talking, and appearing disengaged. To be clear—I understand social moments happen—but when this is happening while locker rooms are not being cleaned and other areas go unattended, it gives the impression that staff aren’t being productive or accountable. Just like my tripod looked like something it wasn’t, that front-desk crowding looks unprofessional to members. Everyone should have clear tasks or be rotated through responsibilities—not just congregated in one place.

In summary, I respectfully request:

1. That this situation and my experience be formally documented.

2. That staff receive a refresher on wearing name tags and how to respond when a member asks to file an incident report.

3. That leadership re-evaluate staff floor presence and task management during busy and quiet hours to avoid negative member perceptions.

I usually go to another gym when I'm in town visiting my bf but this time I went here bc I have a black membership in Mexico City. But it's the first time I have a bad experience with someone, in Mexico we're used to shared the machines with others and so I tried to do the same with a girl here and she don't want to, so when I begin to do my workout another girl start to fight me saying that I kicked out the other girl and that me and "another mexican girl" tried to take over all the machines at the gym to do only "4 exercises" she even going to the front desk to accuse me lol and I appreciated the staff didn't mind much about her baseless complaints I know it's not the gym fault but in the future I prefer to avoid interactions with people like her.

Also I felt bad about the situation and gave an apology to the other girl and she was super friendly. Now I know people don't like to share 🤣

Soooo besides that, the gym itself have a lot of machines, like 4 or 5 smith machines and between 8 and 9.30 it's not too crowded and clean also the staff it's friendly.
They have some 30 min express circuit machines but they don't have a specific place to do the circuit with the lights green and red and the step up to do the cardio.

The showers have curtains instead of doors I don't like much that.

I love this place until they took the short circuit workout room out and put more weights in it! Use to be able to get a full body workout in 30 minutes. It sucks now you have to go all over the place looking for the machines you need

Edit: Planet Fitness listens! All new machines, double the amount, and machines I've only seen in the more expensive gyms. Can't beat $10 per month. I had a medical emergency and surgery that left me in my bed for 4 months.. they froze my account and didn't charge me for all that time. Something to consider if you can't work out for awhile.

I like going to Planet Fitness especially for the price. But, actually working out there is almost impossible. It's very frustrating that people just sit on the machines watching tv, tic toc, etc and visiting. I dont feel like this is a no judgement issue I just think that if you're at the gym workout or move so that other people can. The circuit room is a joke. Very few people workout in there the way that it is intended to be used.

I went for a whole month and until one day this young girl ( employee )reprimanded me in the middle of my work out to tell me that the rules say no bags in the work out room,( which I didn't know and I had a little small enough bag that held my wallet and keys) hanging in the middle of the elliptical. No one showed me around. Or told me the rules. I just went in there to tan and to use the elliptical for 30 min. Always cleaned off the machine. Never said anything just minded my own business. I had been going almost a month and that same girl who had checked me never once said anything about my little bag but instead had to come ruin my workout and embarrass me telling me I need to either go take my bag to my car or put it in a locker. Absolutely rude! I was so embarrassed I grabbed my little bag and left and have not been back. Never once did I complain as to why I didn't get a tour or shown where everything is at, they just signed me up at the front desk and was told to log in on my phone to learn how to use equipment.

Love using this gym! I've lost 35 pounds since going here. I enjoy using the hydro bed at the end of my gym session but have noticed the beds are in not the best condition. Every time I have used them they either shut down due to having enough water or smell rancid. I have pointed it out to multiple employees and they swear they will tell their manager. It seems as if they never said anything or they didnt care to address the rancid death smell coming from what I can only assume is a dead rat behind the machine or rancid water inside the machine itself. I haven't used this service in a few weeks due to this issue never being resolved. It makes me wonder why I even pay for the upgrade since these amenities are not maintained.

I cancelled my membership because it was always dirty. This was about a year or two ago but it has been the worst planet fitness I have dealt with. Guests weren’t wiping down machines and employees weren’t doing so either. They were messing around behind the desk gossiping with each other. I cancelled my membership and when an email asked for a survey, I gave an honest review. A few days later a trainer from the facility called me all angry asking why I gave the score I did. First of all, I thought the surveys were anonymous and didn’t expect to be contacted nor did I sign up to be contacted. Second, why would a trainer think it’s okay to call me and angrily ask me questions about the survey while I am at work? I cancelled my membership, I no longer want to be associated with the gym. The policies are woke and cleanliness just isn’t there. They also make cancelling a membership nearly impossible and include fees unlike other planet fitness in the area. They also make you sign up with your bank account information because they don’t want you blocking charges with your credit cards.

They let my MINOR child sign up for an account WITHOUT PARENTAL PERMISSION and when he tried to close the account, they charged him a $25 FEE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT, and then CONTINUED TO CHARGE him monthly. After several requests to stop, I called the bank to BLOCK FUTURE PAYMENTS and they did - so Planet Fitness CHANGED THE NAME they were pulling under and CONTINUED CHARGING him. According to my bank, Planet Fitness is notorious for doing this. Ultimately, I had to CLOSE THE BANK ACCOUNT TO STOP THEM. This is absolutely ridiculous and they should be charged with theft!

I've been a member of this Planet Fitness for about six months, and unfortunately, the recurring issues have not been addressed. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but they seem to be left making excuses for the poor maintenance and unresolved problems that persist month after month.

**Pros:**
- The staff is friendly and great.

**Cons:**
- Almost all of the bikes, except the center one, have had problems since my first visit. Despite repeatedly informing the staff, these issues remain unfixed.
- The music in the locker room consists of spa/meditation sounds that are quite depressing and discouraging. This has also been reported to the staff but nothing has changed.
- The water fountain for filling up bottles has been broken for at least two weeks, causing long lines and inconvenience.

Overall, I will not be returning to this Planet Fitness, as it appears that the management/ownership does not know how to properly maintain the facility.

Update: I emailed the help email with no help. Very unhelpful and unpleasant experience with their "customer support "

I had the basic membership. I have brought my 13 year old in on multiple occasions , with no hassle. Today some worker in dreads decided to enforce the rules apparently. He didn't offer up any solutions. Saying my 13 yr old missed the cutoff for a highschool membership. There were no other alternatives mentioned and I felt as if pf didn't want my membership, so I cancelled my membership. On later reviewing of website I saw that there were options never mentioned by the worker with dreads and the manager that cancelled my membership. My 13 year old could have his own membership or I could have upgraded mine and been able to have a guest at any time. None of these were mentioned to me, so again I felt as if my membership was not wanted here for whatever reason. I might be paranoid but pf has always felt like a discriminatory type atmosphere. They apparently have an issue with a type of person that looks and acts a certain way. I believe the term they use "lunkhead". I don't plan on returning even though it is a popular est. Judgy atmosphere. Staff I've encountered (especially guy with dreads) made me feel judged and uncomfortable. I'm thinking Anytime Fitness. They seem like a decent gym.

The worst gym in Yuba City. The staff is hands down garbage. I dropped my membership due to the rude staff. They do not police members hoarding five sets of dumbbells, yet will tell you where you can or can’t lift. It’s not worth the cheap price. This is a Taymax issue and nothing more. I asked what the policy was for people taking a selection of weights over to the Smith machine and never leaving for their whole workout. The lady said she would make it aware to management about it and it continues to happen. Isn't there a time frame someone can hold a machine? How is it OK to grab weights from other designated areas then bring it over to a area specifically for the Smith machine then do other workouts and not use the use Smith machine? Or use the Smith machine once then use the dumbbells the majority of time for a hour and get around to the Smith machine later? Use the designated areas like they're suppose to be.

Valerie was the rudest associate I have ever encountered at a Planet Fitness. I was the only member at the counter and I wanted to pay for a protein drink and she looked like she was taking a typing test she was focused on the screen and typing as fast as she can and after about a minute I asked her to please ring me up and she told me just a second very snotty. This club is the most unprofessional fitness club in Yuba City, Ca. It starts with their supervision, Patty, to their management, Adrian. Patty has literally harassed and belittled my son every time he goes in. She is a bully when it comes to my son.
I have asked to speak to management, Adrian, about this matter but she refuses to call me back because she is so busy running a gym.
So if you want a membership to a gym that likes to harass you and bully you because they are a "Judgement Free Zone," then this gym is for you.
It's so sad that businesses are still bullying and harassing people who just want to workout.
It's sad that the owners of this establishment have an inexperienced management team running their business.
I will definitely pay more for a membership to a real gym in town.

As others have stated, the gym is clean and the staff is great, very comfortable atmosphere to work out in. My only minor gripe is that there are some people that will sit on a machine for long periods of time idle, not allowing others to use them. Tried to call and talk about my bill with the manager Adrian and let me tell you she is the worst manager I have ever spoke to she just kept over talking me and was very rude and short I will definitely be canceling my membership as of today.

The manager Adrian is horrible at this place. I had only been to this gym twice I usually work out at the Woodland location. But when me and another member had a disagreement she realize that the Yuba City gym is not my primary gym location. She treated me differently automatically she told me that those were members that go to her gym and that I hardly go there and that she's never had a problem with them before I told her I've never had a problem at the one in Woodland either but the way that she was treating me is so unfairly when you can clearly look at the cameras and see what had happened she refused to refused to show me what was on camera and I know the cameras there really suck because one of the employees told me that they do. But because she knew the other members better than she knew me she automatically picked their side and she told me I was not allowed to go to that gym anymore I wasn't planning to go to that gym anyways. I'll keep to my nice gym in Woodland where they actually treat people fairly very good management. Adrian deserve to get fired. The way you talk to clients is so unprofessional. This should be a no judgment zone. And you are the most judgmental person that works there.

I’m not the type of person who writes reviews but what I went through at this establishment on November 10th was surreal. I’d been a member here for a little over 2 years and never had any issues with my attire yet last friday morning I was unprofessionally told I needed to “cover up more” the next time I came in (I’ve attached an image of exactly what I came in wearing). I didn’t want to seem confrontational so I said okay and asked my mother to help me figure out what in their policy says I can’t wear biker shorts and a sports bra. We went to the front desk to ask the woman who addressed me but we were interrupted by the very hostile manager on duty, Adrian. She came at us very aggressively and unprofessionally. She told us that what I was wearing went against policy but never actually explained or showed us evidence of this. Her and my mother got into an argument because of her foul attitude towards our questions and she revoked our membership for “creating a hostile environment” when in reality the only one creating a hostile environment was her (if you look back at the camera footage, you can easily see this 🙂). I went home and looked up the dress code on the PF website only to see that it clearly states short shorts and sport bras are very much allowed. I also asked a previous planet fitness manager and even he told me that that’s not apart of the policy at planet fitness. Even if it was apart of the policy, the way this woman addressed us was so out of line. I’m disgusted ❤️

Adrian if you see this, do us all a favor and book yourself a therapy and a salon session 🫶

The fact that the manager (Adrian) of this establishment does not uphold their own dress code standards and likes to make up their own rules is why this place gets a 1 star. DO NOT go here and waste your money. People are singled out and treated unfairly and this poor excuse of a manager gets to get away with it. I couldnt believe what i over heard and witnessed. I felt bad for those being escorted out when others were wearing the same exact gym wear. I hope something is done or this is very bad for business cuz i wont come back so i dont have to see this again

Clean gym, bathrooms always working, users typically re rack weights and sanitize after use of equipment. I've never seen the link alarm go off, the VIP lounge in the back (hydro chair and bed, massage chairs etc) typically has availability. If you go at a good time, u can avoid people all together lol. Would recommend. I travel 30min each way to go there. The bathrooms have lighting that makes your muscles look big in photos 📸 lol 😆

Old men like to stare at underage women. One old man started to record my underage sister and I told the employees and they did nothing about it. So this gym sucks. I don’t recommend going to this gym and there was also another man that kept a napkin my sister handed to him and told her he kept it all these days because it reminded it of her. He’s 60 and she’s 15. Weirdo.
