Joined the gym On Aug 25. Went to the gym a total of two times. Men’s bathroom is old, stinking and unkept. Equipment is old vintage 80s juxtaposed with newer but not useful stuff that seems to have been bought seconds. Asked for a refund of the steep enrollment fee, was denied because I was 3 days over the 5 day trial period.

I love going to PLSC. It is located in Liberty Station which is a beautiful location and the club itself is one of the best in the city. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the equipment is top quality and they are always updating it (especially like the new spin class bikes), and the club is very clean. The trainers are excellent, Couron has made a big difference for me in a short period of time. If you are looking for a top-quality club in a great location I highly recommend PLSC, you won’t be disappointed.

I have been going to PLSP since 2014! I absolutely love this place. The environment is always full of happy people who WANT to be there, what a good feeling. The equipment and gym is always clean and everything is high quality, the spin classes are so much fun, I especially love the newer cold plunge addition ~ it’s obvious that intention and care is put in to every detail. Jes is so caring and considerate of the guests and it’s beautiful to watch her step in to such a high demanding role of responsibility with such grace.
The mega parking lot is amazing and the location of the club is so ideal.
Highly recommend πŸ™πŸ½

The best gym, with an excellent variety of yoga classes, I love all the types of yoga here. Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga... and more i'm sure i'm missing. The teachers are really dedicated to their practice and to the yogis and gym members who show up. Getting to know the yoga instructors and connect with them is really been what's keeping me investing my time, money, and energy into this gym. Couron is a fantastic instructor who teaches many kinds of classes and he really inspires me to work hard in his Iyengar yoga class and Bodyweight strength class. I am more strong and limber than probably ever due to his classes. Rebekah has amazing Vinyasa classes that always help me feel limber and mindful afterwards. I am very thankful these classes are apart of this gym and that this gym is a community of really nice people. Also the colorful wall art around the gym of beach scenes is a really calming and relaxing vibe. The people who work here are always on their game and greet you when you enter, which sets a really great tone for the whole place. Thanks everyone who works here, you really inspire me to keep working out!

Great gym. But my stars goes to the unsanitary trainer. There's a tall trainer with long hair who never flushes or washes her hands unless there's someone who has seen her come out the stalls. It's really gross.

Wish this gym would enforce all trainers to flush and wash their hands.

Best gym I’ve ever been a part of. Truly. They continue to re-invest in the gym β€” Constantly adding new machines, cleaning the facility and improving amenities. It’s a great community with a friendly staff. There is so much to offer - Lots of classes, recovery zone, 10/10 locker room, turf area, basketball hoop, and SO much more. The only reason I left is because I moved. And no other gym will compare!

So, my friend and I pull up to park, and out of nowhere, this guy starts throwing threats our way. Checked out some reviews later, and it seems like this isn't a one-time thing. Went inside to chat with the staff about it, and all they said was, "Oh, he's a member here." Like, seriously? I don't care if he's a member or not; you can't just go around trying to get into people's cars. Clearly, the staff's more concerned about their precious member than anyone's safety. Anyway, shot a complaint over to ClassPass about the whole mess.Gyms wack too.

Still my favorite gym I've been a member of and I've been a member of 7+ gyms. The facility is HUGE, the staff is thoughtful and attentive, the equipment is state of the art and updated frequently, sauna, stretch room, basketball court, and there is just SO much space to get any sort of workout in. I wish I still lived in SD so that I could workout here! Wouldn't change a thing about this gem - give it a try, you won't regret it!

I love this gym. The employees are always welcoming and helpful, the facility is sparkling clean, and even when it’s β€œbusy” you can still find open equipment and space to do your workout. Hands down, best gym in San Diego. I’ve been going here for a little over 2 years now and every month they upgrade the gym. Whether that is new equipment, class offerings or other services. This gym really has everything for every kind of person. From yoga studio & spin studio, serene stretching room, and every type of equipment you can think of. Basketball court, plenty of free weights, even aerial silks. They just recently added a cold plunge tub and hot tub with red light therapy and vibration plate, and their sauna is infrared! All the way down to the nice simple touches like chilled eucalyptus towels. Love it here!

As a former student to one of the schools nearby it was always great hitting the gym after school. PLSC is a great gym that offers nice general facilities as well as surprising features like the sauna, the cold plunge, the liquid IV and wellness center. The workout area and the locker room is very clean, organized and functional. Not only that, they also offer group workout classes! The price was the only con for me since I was looking for just a gym with a High-School-Student budget, but as it turns out PLSC was so much more than that and I ended up really enjoying it (plus I got a student discount for each month!). Thank you Point Loma Sports Club for everything!

I’m in San Diego every other month, and I love coming to this gym when I’m out here. It’s a 15-20 min drive from my place, but I make the drive because I know once I’m at PLSC I’ll feel better just being there. PLSC has everything you need in terms of equipment, space, helpful staff, etc. Love the versatility of options to move your body however you choose! Some highlights: stretch room, turf, half court, pole, aerial, cycling, boxing, the list goes on. I got a massage done here once which was also amazing and unlike any other massage I’d gotten before. Thank you to PLSC for giving me a great gym to workout at when I’m in SD, I so appreciate it!

The best gym and the best team! I love that they have an app where you can sign in for so many good classes + they have discounts with other partners at Liberty Station. The gym is huge and always clean, never too crowded. Kudos to Jessica on the management and to trainer Couron - he is so knowledgeable and really listen to your body, guiding you to the right movements based on your goals. I’m learning tons about body awareness and they keep me motivated to come back.

Eight years ago, I bid on a 30 day pass PLSC donated to the Warren-Walker School auction. Parents bid on donated items and it raises money. I never left! My sons were in 4 & 5 grade at the time and both have graduated high school. I'm still going to the PL Sports Club. Never crowded, never wait for machines, members and staff are courteous. I can't say enough nice things about it. I tore my knee and had to have surgery so I didn't go for about 10 months. They let me put my membership on hold for the months I couldn't use it and then just reactivated my account when I could return. That speaks volumes about who they are, what other gym would do that? You get what you pay for, they aren't cheap but they are the best.

I can’t believe this gym doesn’t turn on the AC! Instead they leave all the doors and windows open whether it’s winter or summer. So either people are cold or sweating all over the machines! Sometimes it’s so hot indoor that it’s hard to work out!

This post is definitely overdue since I’ve been a member for a couple years now, but PLSC is the absolute best gym in San Diego! They have gone above and beyond to space equipment out and create an amazing outdoor setup during this crazy time. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming every single day. The space never feels overly crowded and they have pretty much any piece of equipment you would want/need. 10/10 - love this gym.

I'm so glad I found this gym. This gym is well equipped and very spacious. The equipment is modern and clean. The space is very vast, I lvoe how open this gym is. There is also a large gymnasium area with a basketball half court. The weight racks have light weights to very heavy. The change room is on the smaller side, it has all the necessities but can get a little busy at times. Upon checking in at the front desk, Emily was very helpful with taking me on a tour of the space. The gym has parking and is located in a shopping area. I recommend Point Loma Sports Club.

I miss this gym! I use to live in liberty station and I have a 3 year old so I loved and appreciated that this gym actually has a daycare. Not only that but Aiyana in the daycare is wonderful with the kids and my daughter loved being thereπŸ˜€πŸ‘ The classes were amazing, I did body pump and spin classes both twice a week each.. I actually had never done classes before coming here and they make you feel SO comfortable and unjudged and it's a blast too! It would be nice if there was AC throughout the gym that was the one thing I'd want different but it's nice that they are so clean and accommodating with lots of towels and a nice perk is the mini fridge of cold, eucalyptus infused towels in the gym😊😍😊😍 Loved those after a good workout or a sweaty spin class!! Lol

Anyways, this was a LONG review but seriously I miss and loved this gym so much. My new gym doesn't have a daycare so it's hard getting use to only working out later in the day when my hubby is home :/ Also they don't even have TOWELS at my new gym lol getting use to how non fancy and uncleanly it is compared to PLSC!πŸ’” Missing the staff too, I loved them and Brian the manager was always super sweet to me!

So I am in San Diego for work and picked up full access week pass. This gym is great, got a great reception when I called to see if they did weekly rates and than when I showed up at the door by the first person. I have read some of the other reviews, my experience now almost done for the week has been great. Only one of the 4 nights has a male been working the desk and he was not your typical meathead. The GM was showing me around on the and had to take a phone call, so the founder who works out at the gym all the time continued the tour until the GM was done with his call. Was able to be part of one of the kick boxing classes and Abe rocks. Got a great workout and learned some technique. I will agree with one of the reviewers the sauna and the compactness of the locker rooms makes it for a tight squeeze. I guess playing sports through college I have been in worse and the shower stalls are separate so you are not in the gang shower around the pole. If I lived in SD I would be a member here with no question.

Male-centric staff all sit behind the big desks in the lobby and strut around all day while young females work the front desks and hostesses and tidiers. Good gym but management needs a wake up call on what they stand for and what kind of message they're sending for gender equality and representation.

I'm so saddened to share this review but felt it might protect someone.

I had been a member for months, going 5 or 6 days a week. For some reason, management insisted on installing a large wooden sauna right in the middle of the locker room. There was no space for it, but all of a sudden there was a big wooden sauna with all of the benches facing the changing area. Not just facing, but literally 2 foot away. It was like a front row seat to everyone changing. Why would they put members in this situation? In any case, I - like most members - ignored the compromise of the locker room until one day I looked up and there was a guy in the window, filming me as I emerged from the shower and started changing.

When I reported it, I was not taken seriously. The GM blew me off. He was rude, inappropriate, and refused to connect me with the owner (who is usually on site). Never once did anyone ask fore details (who/when/where). It was suggested that the sauna person was checking their email. I have a BA in photojournalism... I know what it looks like when people are filming. The Club also suggested that it would be unfortunate if the person was merely checking Facebook, etc. and being wrongfully accused. Again, they were speculating on a situation they never investigated, trying to cover their ass. Blame the victim.

What's really sad about this whole situation is the club always espouses positive vibes/karma in all of their messaging, but became combative and leaderless when called to act. In all their messaging, they keep implying that I might be wrong.

Why would anyone pay for such treatment?

I've been with PLSC since 2/15 and I love it. The best part is the 5:15am classes with Nacho! Fabulous for us working early birds and now I can't live without my morning routine. He changes things up and keeps it interesting each time and the classes fly by. I miss not being to hit the 6:30 TRX with Natalie as now I have early morning meetings on Thursdays but those are fantastic as well. Each TRX session had me knocked out but feeling great (odd as it sounds). The facility is always clean with friendly and professional staff. Thank you PLSC!

I have been a member at this club for over a year now. Amazing facility. Has most of the basic machines aside from my fave'd deltoid lift and standing calve lift, so I still occationally go to my 24hr fitness for those basic needs. My only real issue is the unbearable heat and stuffiness throughout the entire facility. At times, it's so over the top hot, I just leave defeated! And go run outdoors.... Large ceiling fans are effective so long as you are directly under them, and assuming they are on full blast. Otherwise it just blows hot air around. I intend to give it a few more months, and then I may just have to retreat back to my dreaded but climate controlled 24hr. Cheers!

I have been a member at Point Loma Sports Club for about 6 months now and I am so glad I made the choice to join. It is the most clean, spacious, and well equip gym I have belonged to and offers a great selection and variety of classes. Everyone that I encounter at the front desk and all of the trainer are always kind, friendly, and helpful.

I love how they provide both wet and dry towels. A nice plus. Also, the bathrooms/locker rooms are always sparkling clean!
There is tons of nice and new equipment and it never feels too crowded.

The early morning (5:15am!) Body Pump and Kickboxing with Nacho are great! He is really an awesome instructor. It's tough to find classes that early so that is really nice.

I have also been doing personal training with Brittany for the last two months. She is Amazing. Great trainer, motivator, and really helping me to work to achieve my personal fitness goals. I continue to receive complements as I continue to progress with her. I can't say enough good things about Brittany!

I LOVE the stretching room - great machines and quiet space for stretching before and after working out. Also, it's nice to have the giant "machine" room separate from the giant multi-function room with the TRX, ropes, medicine balls, turf and tires. You can literally doing almost anything here.
I still need to try the spin classes - that is next on my list!

Let me start by saying, I am NOT a "gym" person. But this place is close to my office and I had to do something to get in better shape, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I've been going for 3 months and I've lost 8 pounds, have more energy and my balance has seriously improved. I go 3 times a week and love it. It has a wide variety of machines and classes and everyone that works there is super nice, knowledgeable and obviously enjoys what they do.
I can't believe that I don't have to force myself to go, but I don't. I enjoy it. And with the instructors I actually push myself to do better, everytime. And when you improve (even in a class of 10) they notice. I am inspired!
Thank you Crystal and Brandon

Point Loma Sports Club is one of the best gyms I've ever been to (and I've been to a ton if gyms). My favorite part about Point Loma is their turf space. You can free workout with tires, ropes, kettle bells along with other cross training type of equipment which is near impossible to find anywhere unless you spend an arm and a leg on joining a crossfit gym, but even then you have to perform the WOD and don't get to go at your own pace. Very awesome gym and also very clean and beautiful too!! Gives you the feel of a private club but without the ridiculous prices.

What a great find! I looked all over San Diego for a gym that would have everything I need and finally found that in Point Loma Sports Club. They have great group classes (yoga, kickboxing, cycling, TRX, Les Mills and way more) and a clean, open space that is never crowded and always well taken care of. They have a variety of different equipment: all the standard stuff (but the nicest, newest models of the standard stuff) plus TRX straps, a basketball court, battle ropes, this big tire thing, and way more then I could ever think of off the top of my head. So far I haven't found another gym in SD that offers all that in one place.

But honestly its all the little things that make this place a world above the rest- like the locker rooms that feel more like my bathroom at home then a gross gym locker room, or the staff who always make it a point to remember your name and say hi as you walk in and out. (I don't know about anyone else, but this is the only gym I've been to where a trainer I barely recognized noticed I came in twice in one day and immediately ran over to high-five me and say good work. What?! Yes please to that level of customer service.)

All in all, it has everything I could want, and I couldn't be happier to spend the money every month to be a part of it.

This is hands down the only gym/fitness program that I've tried in San Diego that I've stuck to and for good reason! They have all the equipment one could ever need and none of that super macho vibe you'll find at many other gyms in Southern California. This is seriously the kind of place where they make you feel like home. I'm from a small town so I dig that.

In addition, PLSC is clean, never too crowded, in a great location down at Liberty Station and offers plenty of classes and other amenities. The staff is awesome - they genuinely love what they do and it shows. Ryan, who opened our accounts, knew our names by the second day and makes a point to say hey every time my roommate and I are there. That goes for all the staff - super personal, super helpful and just all around good people.

Long story short, if you live in the area and are looking for a gym - this is your place!
