Cool little local gym. I saw they had a special drop-in deal with the Guest Harbor where I was staying at, so I took advantage of it. Good amount of machines and free weights available. They had some classes going on too! I’ll definitely be going back next time I’m in town.

Port Town Fitness is an awesome local gym with a real community and family vibe. The equipment is clean and well-maintained. The trainers here are top-notch—knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in your progress. I joined during one of their FREE 30 day weight loss challenges and not only saw real results, but also felt supported every step of the way.

When I first heard about Port Town Fitness. I went in talked to Mary. She's very sweet, loving, etc. I tried out my first week trail, I loved the gym so very much. Then I got my 3 months membership, then I will be renewing my membership again.🩷😊 The workouts are very intense but very worth every single sweat. The staff there are very amazing! Anything you need help with they are there to assist you! Even the coaches! I wanna give a HUGE THANK YOU TO LAWRENCE! He’s been helping me with my weight loss journey doing it in memory of my brother!

My experience with the staff at Port Town Fitness has been life changing. I initially met Lawrence Alcera in 2011, and he helped me lose some weight and gain a lot more strength than expected. Life intervened and I followed him later to another gym in 2022. There I met Kristina Rivera who convinced me I could lose weight and keep it off. I accepted her challenge. In the ten-day challenge I lost ten pounds. I kept the exercise routine and modified the diet slightly. At my heaviest I weighed more than 245 pounds. I am now at 185 pounds and in the best shape in my life at 60 years old.

This is a great secluded gym to train at. If you're like me and hate dealing with over crowded gyms after works hours this is a great spot to get lifts in or hit the heavy bag if you're a martial artist. Lawrence and Nick are exceptional owners who will treat you well from the very beginning. They have created a great community space at Port Town and I have really enjoyed getting in my training here. Highly recommend it!

I had been shopping around for a new gym in the San Pedro area, close to home or Carson area near my office. I went in person to check out a few places, what their hours of operation are. Are they a HIIT / Circuit Training / Cross-fit class facility only, a Kickboxing class facility only, or an open gym. All were class-based trainings only except for Port Town Fitness.

I had an instant great vibe about them, when I reached out to inquire about their facility, asked if I could come in to do a walk through, they responded to me in under 2 hours of me messaging them. Mind you, I reached out to other local places in San Pedro, and no one, to this day, has responded to my inquiry, which to me is bad customer service.

I went and did my walk through and was thoroughly impressed with the location, the cleanliness and very well ventilated for being located below street level. I met with Mary and Lawrence and again, an instant great vibe from them both! They had a special taking place of a 1-week free trial, and I took advantage of it in a heartbeat! I went the next morning to their 5am kickboxing class and it was great. The following morning, I went to the 5am circuit class, that was just as great as the kickboxing.

I had a planned vacation the following week, but once I was back in town, I went back to sign up as a member!

What sold me on becoming a member there:
- 3-minute drive from home.
- Their morning and evening class times are perfect.
- Accessing the Open Gym during business operation hours between them and Physical Therapy San Pedro.
- They offer both Circuit Training, Kickboxing classes and an Open Gym.
- The other members are great to workout with.
- I participate in DEKA events and Port Town Fitness has the equipment that is used in these events, and I can train with their equipment.

If you are looking for a new gym, with a Great vibe and Great Trainers, I highly recommend Port Town Fitness!!

After a four-year break from fitness, I chose Port Town Fitness to jump back into my workout routine. Choosing a gym that felt welcoming and motivating was crucial for me, and I found just that here.

What really stood out were the versatile workout options. Beyond traditional workouts, I was excited to find kickboxing classes that offered a dynamic and fun way to stay fit. The circuit training sessions are also a hit, providing a time-efficient workout that pushed me to my limits.

The supportive environment created by the coaches Lawrence and Kristina, along with other members, made my return to fitness seamless. Unlike some gyms where newcomers might feel out of place, here I found people of all fitness levels, each focused on their own journey but always willing to offer a friendly hello or a quick tip.

Port Town Fitness uses the Gym Desk app, which makes finding the schedule and booking classes incredibly easy and convenient.

Whether you're a seasoned gym-goer or someone like me, Port Town Fitness is definitely worth checking out.
