Prevail Conditioning Performance is an exceptional establishment that I have been attending since the end of 2023. The staff is absolutely amazing, attentive, and supportive of my wellness goals. My trainer, Kaleena, has customized my program to be conducive with my body needs and ambitions. I have learned so much from my sessions already. My posture and overall alignment has improved, as well as my stamina and strength. I highly recommend Prevail Conditioning!

The Prevail team really knows their stuff. I've been training with them for a year now and have trusted everyone I've worked with. They have listened and and suggested methods and exercises that work for my body and have given me confidence in it again!

Training at Prevail Conditioning has been a great experience. The workouts are structured and purposeful — every session builds strength, mobility, and overall fitness.

My coach, Krystian, has done an excellent job teaching proper technique and helping me build real, functional strength that carries over into everything I do, including beach volleyball.

The whole team creates a supportive, motivating environment that makes it easy to stay consistent and keep improving. I always leave feeling stronger and better than when I came in.

I just renewed for my third year at Prevail, count me among their growing number of fans. I was looking for a program focused on my fitness and health, fancy smoothie bars and vast mirrored walls not my thing. Prevail is perfect, first Wyatt and now Andrew are skilled, professional, and engaging trainers, (and Josh for PT) helping me increase both strength and mobility and easing the path to my 7th decade on the planet. I give them an unqualified 5 stars.

I initially started with Prevail through physical therapy sessions with Brook, one of the most knowledgeable and intuitive physical therapists I’ve had the privilege of working with. From there, my journey evolved into a tailored training program designed to reinforce and build on the physical therapy recommendations.

I’ve had the good fortune to work with several trainers, including Kyle, Wyatt, and now Andrew. Each brings a depth of experience and expertise, finding unique ways to motivate me and customize each workout to my individual needs. These sessions have become the highlight of my day—the perfect transition from work to home.

I’m so grateful to be part of the Prevail family.

I highly recommend Prevail for anyone seeking to get stronger in a supportive, motivating environment! I have been lifting weights for almost a decade, but never in the context of group fitness. I started attending a class at Prevail about a month ago, and have been very impressed. The instructors are passionate and knowledgeable, the workouts are well structured and the community aspect inspires me to push harder than I do on my own!

I whole heartedly recommend Prevail Conditioning to anyone hoping to get in shape, stay in shape or come back from an injury or long term issue or weakness.

My husband and I train together twice a week in semi private sessions with a knowledgeable and professional trainer. He created an individual program for us which is updated every 2 months. Most importantly, he provides supervision, which ensures that our form is correct and that we are doing the exercises correctly.

During the last two years we have both grown in strength and endurance. My back problems have all but disappeared after adhering to my personal program. I am happy and grateful for the results we have achieved and look forward to continuing this never ending pursuit of health and well being through smart and appropriate exercise.

Full disclosure: I was the founder of Prevail and a former business partner with Peter Blumert.

That said...I just had a chance to pop back by Prevail when I visited Santa Barbara this summer and spend some time with the new staff as well as catch up with some of my old peeps (shout out to Pistol, Alexis, Prez, "Steel Fingers" Dr. Brook, Kyle) as well as several of the OLD members who are still training there (you know who you are...and I love you!). I also was able to jump into the morning group with Peter. So fun.

May I just say what a true joy and blessing it is to see what Prevail is doing, the lives they are invested in and changing, and the impact they are making. Yes, they have great training and PT. Yes, they have great groups. Yes, they are doing the work to stay educated and informed. Yes, they have great systems in place to make sure every one of their staff are onboarded well and know the "Prevail Way." Yes, they get results. Yes, they have the recovery options that we are seeing such great importance for now. They are an industry leader in so many ways.

Yet, the thing I am most excited about and touched by is that they are...well...they are just good people.

Seeing how much they care and invest in their clients, their community, and their employees is something you simply do not see much in this industry (and quite frankly...you do not see it much period, in any industry). They are people of character, integrity, high work ethic...and they just love on people.

To the team at Prevail: well done. You are seen and you are known. Thank you for being great. Keep kicking ass.

To those who are looking for a great place to train...I hope there's nothing else that needs to be said. Check 'em out. It will be worth it.

I went in to see the PT, Josh. I injured my knee in a snowboard crash and spent 6 months circulating through different PTs, primary care doctors, orthopedists, x-rays, MRIs with everyone suing different things and giving me generalized guidance. The experience with Josh was much different. He was very curious and confident. He asked a lot of questions, took me through many different movements, tested and retested till we found the problem areas and identified how to approach improving them. When we started I could not squat down to 90 degrees. Within 30 min I was able to sit down in to a full squat. Within the next 30 min Josh talked me through his logic, we filmed bespoke videos of movements to practice and reference for after I leave. Josh is just one more great experience I’ve had at Prevail that continues to set the bar for all my expectations in any other gym, fitness class, personal training, or physical therapy… I drove up from Los Angeles just for this appointment, and it was beyond worth it. Thank you Josh, thank you Kyle, thank you Prevail team.

I love Prevail with my whole heart. I gave myself the gift of PT and strength training this year for the first time, and I now talk to my family and friends about it constantly like it’s my job :). It is such a luxury to have manual Physical Therapy from my PT Josh Fong for the first 20 mins of my appt, and then delve into about 40 minutes of functional fitness training. Josh is smart, encouraging, professional, kind, and keeps me moving forward. I’m so grateful to have found him. The trainers are often encouraging and will give me fist bumps and notice when I’ve pushed hard (even though I’m not working individually with them), which helps me leave out of breath and with a smile. I highly recommend Prevail Conditioning, both PT and trainers to anyone looking to do something loving for themselves and their physical and mental health.

WONDERFUL staff at Prevail—knowledgeable, dedicated, encouraging, and committed to their clients’ needs. I joined Prevail because I was looking for expert help getting back into strength training after many years away from it. I signed up for semi-private training with Alexis, and have also had the opportunity to work with other excellent trainers. In the beginning I struggled with neck and back pain, but Alexis and the PT staff were very helpful in finding a program that worked for me. After working out 2 days a week for 3 months, I have noticeable improvement in strength and flexibility. I can feel differences in how I move as I go about my regular daily life—what I can carry and how I carry it, hiking, walking, going up and down stairs, etc. I appreciate all of the support I’ve received, and look forward to continued improvement—thank you!

I began training at Prevail in January. I was in pretty good shape going in but was looking to maximize my fitness level.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I am strengthening muscle groups that I can feel in everyday activities. I can definitely see it in my golf swing.

The facilities are 1st rate and clean. The staff are friendly and encouraging. The clientele are a pleasure to be around.

Christopher is my trainer and I couldn’t be happier. He is diligent in ensuring my form and movement will maximize my time there. He’s also very encouraging and supportive which is very motivating to me. He’s a great trainer and a really good guy.

Training with Prevail Online Coaching has completely transformed my approach to fitness. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for both my physical health and my mindset. I've gained more strength, more energy, and—most importantly—a sense of structure and self-discipline that’s carried over into every part of my life. The coaching is personal, consistent, and truly empowering. Kyle has been a pleasure and will work to help you accomplish any goals you set!

Prevail's unique approach to fitness has allowed me to keep moving and growing stronger while working to address the physical challenges that have impeded my progress in the past. I have struggled with a thoracic outlet compression since 2007 and am overjoyed to see gains for the first time in my upper body strength after starting at Prevail in December 2024. The secret sauce is their attention to learning what works for my body through their educated and proven ways of movement. I am finally able to listen to my body and still move forward.
The trainers work hand in hand with the excellent PT's and allow me to push my limits without re-injuring myself. I felt stronger than ever skiing this winter (even after a full knee replacement last year). In fact, I feel stronger every day and 10 years younger than when I joined 6 months ago!
Shout out to Jake who is patiently behind me, working to support my physical fitness journey.

Prevail is more than a gym it’s a true community. My 91-year-old grandfather joined after losing his wife of 68 years, hoping to improve his mobility. With Josh’s help, he now walks 2 miles a day and works out several times a week. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable with older adults and have helped him regain strength, confidence, and joy. This place has been a powerful part of his healing. Highly recommend!

Great Community and Gym! I’ve had the privilege of being apart of the Prevail Community for over a year, and I am super thankful for their dedication towards each individual who works out with them! Being a student athlete comes with a lot of rewards but also challenges one of those challenges being injuries, but since joining Prevail my performance has increased significantly, have prevented injuries and have increased my strength and conditioning. Prevail has become like a second family and I can always count on their support with a nutrition, injury prevention , and recovery plan !

I retired at age 70 after working 35 years at a desk job. My daughter and her husband were both training at Prevail and encouraged me to join. I had never done any weight training or conditioning and thought I was too old to start. It took me a couple of years, but a year ago I decided to give it a try. I met with Josh for an evaluation. He took into account my limitations and discussed with me my goals. I started private training two days a week. I loved it so much I decided to switch to three days a week last month. The trainers at Prevail are all phenomenal. They put together a customized strength training program that changes every few weeks. I am never bored as I am always trying new things. I am working with Krystian and Jake. They are both incredibly knowledgeable. They watch carefully to ensure all exercises are done correctly to prevent injury. They are excellent at helping me with my form and making suggestions so I get the full benefit of the exercise. In one year I have seen great improvement. My strength, balance, stamina, mobility and range of motion have all greatly improved. I see improvements in my daily tasks with bending, lifting, stair climbing, and walking. The workouts have even helped with my ability to focus. Best of all, I have experienced better sleep. If you had told me at my age, I would not only start but enjoy strength conditioning, I would never have believed it. It's been rewarding to challenge myself and to experience something new and out of my comfort zone. I highly recommend it. It's never too late to get started.

I can’t say enough good things about Prevail and the amazing physical therapist, Josh Fong, As someone dealing with two severely damaged knees, I honestly wasn’t sure how much strength or mobility I could regain. When I started with Josh a little over a year ago, I was using walking sticks all the time and sometimes even a walker. In the past, I had had several bad falls, even breaking my nose, so my confidence in walking was very shaken - but working with Josh has been a game changer. Not only is he an incredibly knowledgeable physical therapist but also a smart, attentive trainer who meets you exactly where you are.

His approach is both challenging and supportive. He knows how to push just enough to get results without pushing too far - and I’ve seen real, measurable improvements in both my mobility and overall strength. When I started, I had very little hope I could regain much mobility or strength. Today, I hardly ever use my walking sticks - only for long distances - and I’m walking consistently. I’ve increased my daily steps and can now walk three miles at a time with ease.

I also want to thank Prevail Gym and the entire staff for creating such a positive and welcoming environment. Everyone there has been incredibly friendly, supportive, and professional - it truly feels like a community. I’m so grateful to be part of it.

If you’re dealing with chronic injuries or just want someone who truly understands the body and how to get the most out of it safely, I can’t recommend Josh enough. He gave me back my mobility - and with it, a whole new level of confidence and independence.

I began using the Recovery Room to support my overall wellness and sleep quality. In addition to experiencing increased energy, the most remarkable change occurred. I had been dealing with Achilles tendinitis for over 9 months. After about 6 weeks of using Red Light Therapy and PEMF, I suddenly realized my symptoms had completely vanished. It wasn’t just an improvement; they were gone. I attribute this healing to the Recovery Room, as it was the only change I made to my routine. Recently, I’ve incorporated the sauna into my regimen and enjoy sweating it out. This addition has further enhanced my sleep and overall well-being.

I've trained at Prevail for well over a decade, and I am incredibly thankful for their physical coaching as well as attention to nutrition, sleep/recovery, as well as the community they have built. I am certainly stronger, more mobile, have more functional and healthy movement patterns than I would have training on my own. One of their goals is well-rounded fitness, which admittedly would be difficult for me to achieve (and know how to) on my own.
There is coaching available for every level of fitness, age, and physical ability. It's not intimidating - there's no ego. The owners and staff have always been inviting, encouraging and have created an atmosphere of challenge, education, and fun.

I was never a gym person until I found Prevail and it has changed my life. Stronger after having 2 kids and I love it. If I miss a workout, my day isn’t complete. Grateful for our Prevail community.

We stumble in, hot mess express,
At 6 A.M., in full distress.
One shoe untied, hair all askew—
Yet somehow, we always push through.

At Prevail, the music starts to blast,
Sleepy grumbles fading fast.
Steel and sweat, a steady beat,
Yet laughter rises, light and sweet.

Rowan greets us, cool and calm,
With circuit plans and perfect form.
“Let’s go!” he shouts, with zero fear—
While we just try to shift a gear.

Burpees, squats, and shoulder presses,
While dodging yawns and yoga messes.
Still, somehow, we find our flow,
Fueled by beats and that Rowan glow.

Not just a gym—it’s sacred ground,
Where joy and struggle both are found.
Where music bumps and spirits rise,
And half-asleep, we claim our prize.

At Prevail, we show up tired but true,
And leave as warriors—through and through

Ode to Prevail

Three times a week, I cross that line,
Where sweat and grit and heart combine.
The music hums, the dumbbells gleam—
At Prevail, we chase a stronger dream.

The walls don’t boast, the mirrors don’t lie,
We show up bold, we lift, we try.
Rowan’s there with his bounding cheer,
A sunrise soul—we mock, but cheer.

He fires a question right on cue,
“Would you rather…?” or “What’s your view?”
We groan, we roll our eyes in jest—
But somehow, it brings out our best.

He’s young, he’s wired, he’s all-in fire,
Pushing us higher, rep by rep, entire.
Every lunge, each shaky squat,
Fueled by that voice: “Give all you’ve got!”

Our bodies ache, our spirits lift,
In every strain, a quiet gift.
Not just a gym—it’s will, it’s grace,
It’s Rowan’s laugh, this sacred space.

So here’s to Prevail, where limits bend,
Where strength is built, and hearts transcend.
We chide, we sweat, we rise, we rail—
But deep down, we love it. We Prevail.

After 37 years of working behind a computer, my body was starting to feel the effects of a sedentary lifestyle.

I'm not someone who naturally gravitates toward the gym, but my wife and I decided to give Prevail a try. Six months later, after working with Krystian and Chris, I’m now able to take on physically demanding tasks that I wouldn't have considered before.

The team at Prevail is approachable, supportive, and tailors our programs each week based on our progress and feedback.

I highly recommend Prevail to anyone new to fitness who’s looking to build strength, improve flexibility, and feel better overall.

I come from a background of college sports + a pro soccer career. Prevail has been an awesome gym to step into because you basically have a personal trainer. You show up and the program is already written and you can tell that a lot of thought has been put into the program. Wether you come from an athletic background or just getting into the gym the program works for anyone and the trainers are always helping you perfect your form and point out the muscle group you are targeting and why. If you are unable to do any of the exercises they have back up exercises to help you achieve your goals. Highly recommend!

Prevail is phenomenal! The community at Prevail is what keeps me coming back. There’s a sense of connection, mutual respect, shared growth, and I feel genuinely seen as an individual at this gym. It’s rare to find a space that’s both high-performance and heart-centered—Prevail nails both.

I also can’t say enough good things about Rowan’s group conditioning classes at Prevail. Rowan brings such a positive, grounded energy to every class and makes tough 6am workouts something I actually look forward to. He’s incredibly skilled at creating a welcoming environment and offering modifications and encouragement that meet each person where they’re at. So happy I was introduced to Prevail!

My favorite part about Prevail is that the owners, instructors, and fellow classmates give me the sense that I am a stakeholder in the gym. Prevail has a true community feel, from the small classes, individual attention within a group setting, really nice classmates, and a chill vibe. The workouts are as challenging and worthwhile as one should expect from this type of gym, and the results are deeply satisfying, but the people here are why it’s easy to come to class at 6am.

At Prevail gym, the strongest hearts are made,
Where sweat and drive outshine the fleeting shade.
The clang of steel, the thrum of music loud,
All lift your spirit high above the cloud.

Yet more than gear or walls of iron cast,
It’s Rowan’s fire that truly makes it last.
With watchful eye and voice both kind and stern,
He sparks the will to grow, to strive, to learn.

Each step he guides with wisdom deep and true,
He knows the path, and walks that path with you.
Through grueling sets, he teaches strength and grace—
You find yourself, reshaped in body’s place.

So if you seek to grow, to rise, prevail,
Let Rowan lead—you shall not, cannot fail.

I first started going to Prevail in 2022 after years of back spasms that kept getting worse. I had tried physical therapy, but it wasn’t enough on its own. I began with Chris in a small group setting With zero strength in my glutes. Chris was so encouraging, especially when my back spasms would reappear and I’d have to be very patient with my body. Eventually, I “graduated” to the group class! I have been enjoying the community and connection of the Tuesday/Thursday 6 AM class with Rowan for last several years. I am stronger at 44 than I ever have been before and am now able to get back to things that I love: long hikes, biking, swimming and keeping up with my kids! Rowan is an amazing coach. He motivates me to push myself with positivity, watches my form, constantly to protect against injury, and is just an all-around awesome person! If you are on the fence about trying Prevail, do it! You owe it to yourself to live life feeling stronger and without pain.

Prevail Conditioning has an amazing Recovery Center that we were able to use for about a week when we were in Santa Barbara. We went once or twice each day and enjoyed the Compression Therapy, Infrared Sauna, Red Light Therapy, and the Pulsed PEMF Electromagnetic Field table. My neck has caused me pain for years from car accidents. When I first used the PEMF table, I needed a rolled-up towel under my neck. By the end of the week, I didn’t need the towel. Both of us felt so much better after being at the Recovery Center with more relaxed muscles and nerves. Thank you all for creating such a place to get restored. (Steve and Diane Blumert)

I feel extremely fortunate that I signed up with Prevail about 4 months ago and it has without a doubt been the best investment I have ever made in my health. I struggled with energy levels, inflammation and a diet that wasn’t so great.. but now I feel so much better virtually all the time. I’ve lost 20lbs, have so much more energy and my passion for running has unexpectedly returned - most importantly the increase in energy levels and enthusiasm has changed how I am able to show up in all areas of my life, for myself as well as the people I support.

I have been blessed in working with Krystian who truly is an exceptional performance coach. Working with her has been transformative for my motivation and performance. She has helped me set goals, tailored my workouts to meet those goals, paid great attention to how my body is responding and adjusted the workout type or intensity based on my energy and skill levels, and helped me adjust my form to avoid injury and maximizing benefit. She is incredibly dedicated - staying late when sessions run long and celebrating my progress with genuine enthusiasm. Beyond her expertise she’s built a strong rapport with me, bringing a lighthearted spirit and sense of humor that makes the sessions fun and enjoyable. Having such an attentive and inspiring coach has skyrocketed my motivation and performance. I couldn’t ask for better guidance. I have also had the great pleasure of working with Jake a few occasions which has been fantastic and I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Beyond the skill of the Prevail crew I personally also really appreciate the culture of friendliness and care. They make a point to see you and encourage your growth (from a friendly greeting by Maddie, to things like conversations about nutrition with Peter and advice on probiotics, Erin following up on how it’s working for me, or Chris asking about my upcoming race, Kyle offering encouraging words, and Alexis as well on a post card celebrating my wins!). Prevail is a special place, and a force multiplier for growth and positive change. Much love and gratitude! 🙏

I started training at Prevail in the fall of 2021, after not training or really doing much working out for about 5 years, especially during Covid. The team or trainers, the space itself and the other clients in the group classes make it enjoyable to work out. The best part is, after 4 years of training my posture, mobility, strength, energy levels are improved. I'm 4 years older (42) but my body feels younger than it did at 38. If you're an athlete you'll love the classes, if you're a beginner you'll love the community and welcoming atmosphere. Can't recommend Prevail strongly enough.

Disclaimer: I am a coach here at Prevail, but I am not here to discuss how proud we are to have the best training community and coaching staff in town!

This is a review of my experience as a user of the Prevail Recovery Center. Compression, sauna, PEMF, and red light therapy are available. My "why" for using the center is to shift myself towards a more relaxed parasympathetic state for improved mental health and better sleep. I struggle with trying to get too much done in a day and often feel like a hamster on a wheel, endlessly crossing things off a to-do list that will never be empty anyways.

Blocking out time in my day for downregulating has been very helpful. My two most used modalities have been sauna and PEMF. Sauna provides me with greater immediate relief, and the cooling down process my body does in response afterwards leads to a great night's sleep when I do it in the evening. As for the PEMF mat, I specifically use the setting intended to help with sleep interruptions, and have still never woken up before my alarm when I've done a 15 minute session the day prior, regardless of when I do it in the day. (The other pro of laying on the PEMF mat is there is no added time of changing and showering like there is with the sauna.) Hopefully my experience gives you more insight on how the modalities could help you.

Last point: I'm sure you've experienced that you are more productive in certain environments (office, coffee shop) or times of day. On that note, even if you just look at the Recovery Center as a way to block out time to breathe, get away from screens/distractions, meditate, etc., there is great value on also having a separate space in your life and blocked out time in your day dedicated to unwinding. I'd highly recommend checking it out.

P.S. If you think you're too busy for it, you probably need it even more.

Before I started working out at Prevail Conditioning five months ago, I came to the realization that I wasn’t going to meet my health and exercise goals on my own and that I needed some help and motivation. I found Prevail and, from the first phone call through the introductory meetings and all the training sessions, everyone has been supportive, knowledgeable and welcoming.

Five months into semi-private sessions with Erin, I’ve made distinct and noticeable progress towards my goals of losing weight, gaining strength and just feeling better. She’s continually adjusting my workouts (often in real-time) for better results and in response to my evolving fitness levels. An unexpected (to me) result of the training, is that my balance, posture and flexibility have improved noticeably, and are something we now focus on. In addition to the semi-private training, I have had a couple PT sessions with Josh. Like everyone I’ve encountered at Prevail, I’ve found him to be professional, realistic and to have my best interests in mind.

I’m constantly learning and being challenged at Prevail and it’s built up my confidence in and out of the gym. I wholeheartedly recommend Prevail to anyone, regardless of fitness or confidence level. You won’t be disappointed!

Prevail is a game changer. I was struggling with low energy and knew I needed to be more active and was curious about strength training but had no clue where to start. I knew I wasn’t going to figure it out myself and that’s where Prevail came in. I was pretty intimated at first but the Prevail staff made me feel so comfortable and welcome. The 50 minute strength and fitness classes are a good mix of mobility, strength, and conditioning. The other people in the classes are fantastic and make it so fun. The vibes are always immaculate. I primarily work out with Kyle and Chris and both are awesome, knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, and patient coaches. Under their instruction, I now feel confident that I could go to a gym by myself and get a good work out in with proper form. Now with over 2 years of consistently working out with Prevail I feel more confident and energized than ever. And I have accomplished one of my long time goals: to be able to do a proper push up on the floor. If you’re curious about starting in them gym but feel intimidated, reach out to Prevail. It’s the perfect place for beginners to start and you won’t regret it. The community is full of wonderful people of all ages and abilities and the coaches are warm and welcoming. This place has truly taught me that the gym is for everyone.

Prevail has been one of the best experiences for conditioning and weekly workouts. I used to go to the gym and attempt my own fitness program but never felt like I was making progress. Since training with my group trainer Wyatt I feel more involved and can actually see results taking shape. All of the staff at prevail are so welcoming and nice, it defiantly feels like a family. They offer not only classes but multiple other services that really help fine tune yourself and give you the best path to a healthy and strong body.

Recovery Center is a welcome addition to the Prevail experience. I’ve been using the PEMF, Red Light, Sauna a few times each week. I noticed a reduction in DOMS, better sleep, and over all less stress, with a better mindset. The 90 minutes is a great way to unwind at the end of the day. Highly Recommended!

I have been going to Prevail for almost six months and it has had the single biggest positive impact on my health and fitness journey. I ran up against several injuries over the past several years and felt unable to break back into a healthy routine without proper guidance. I had previously tried what felt like everything including physical therapy and personal training elsewhere in town and it simply was not working until I found Prevail. I personally worked with Wyatt but everyone I have encountered there has the same level of professionalism and knowledge that will get you where you need to be.

Update to my previous review, re the Recovery Center:

The Recovery Center is a great concept for promoting post-workout recovery in a spa-like setting. An infrared sauna and compression therapy are available, but I’ve primarily used the Red Light Therapy (RLT) and the Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) after sessions with my excellent trainers (thanks Kyle and Wyatt!) and my excellent PT (thanks Josh!). Both modalities make me feel better, with less muscle soreness, stiffness and joint inflammation; and both promote relaxation and sleep.

RLT has also helped with a neurologic condition, clearing away brain fog, and improving my gait and balance. Bonus: it has reduced the depth of my laugh lines and improved my skin texture overall!

PEMF also improves my mental clarity and is relaxing and energizing at the same time – a great combo. I’m optimistic that both RLT and PEMF will facilitate cellular repair, keep my symptoms at bay, and preserve my ongoing well-being. Thanks to Prevail for creating this health and recovery oasis!

****
I couldn’t be happier about returning to the Prevail family after the pandemic stopped their offsite strength and conditioning classes, and then I had to have hip surgery. I was initially intimidated at the thought of returning to workouts, not only because I had to start from scratch physically but because I’m a “senior” among the young and the fit. I opted for one-on-one training to make sure I didn’t learn any bad movement habits or court injury from any of my physical issues. I’m fortunate to now be training with Kyle and Wyatt, who have both brought me back from my totally deconditioned state and put me on the path to getting my strength, mobility and flexibility back. Kyle has patiently guided me through the process and motivated me, modifying my program when necessary to still achieve the goals if I need to go easy on old injuries. He has the instincts of a physical therapist and has some neurology insights as well, all of which comprise treatment as well as great training! Wyatt is also flexible in adapting my program to my issues, and he is a great motivator for me to keep aiming higher.
I also benefit from seeing the talented physical therapist Josh, who is great at holding me together, and it’s convenient to see him in the same facility. They all coordinate with each other with respect to my programs, which is a plus and makes me more confident about my movements as I’m continuing to progress.
Peter has assembled a great team that make Prevail a first-rate and friendly place to get fit, whether you go for private training, group classes, or anything in between. Their new facility on State Street is well- and efficiently designed too. Oh and, seniors are also welcome! This is not a warehouse full of treadmills and elliptical machines, but a place for excellent and personalized training. I highly recommend Prevail to anyone who is looking for a fun but serious place to get strength training and conditioning!

Prevail has become an integral part of my life over the last year! I have a reconstructed ACL tear from 10 years ago and when I came to Alexis, my trainer at Prevail, I told her I don't do split squats. My previous trainer had me avoid them because they caused pain. Not Alexis! She worked with me in tiny steps until today I can do raised front foot, split squats with weight and NO PAIN! I used to wear my knee sleeve almost every day to help with stability and pain. I haven't worn it in a month! I'm super grateful to Alexis. She is so encouraging and positive while at the same time she gets me to work hard. And I'm seeing amazing results!

I have had the absolute pleasure of working out at Prevail for about a year, and cannot say enough good things about the program and the team. I started when I was in the worst shape I’d ever been in, and was met with positivity, enthusiasm and encouragement, and a strong focus on meeting my body where it’s at in order to gain the strength and mobility I need to continue my active lifestyle as I make my way into middle age. Kyle finds a way to inspire me to work harder even through my own tough days or when I’m lying on the ground and yelling expletives at him, and the work has become an important part of my regular routine. I was a regular at Prevail from 2010-18 and got in arguably the best shape of my life (specifically around golf and cycling fitness) ... then life got in the way and I "let myself go" - Fast forward 6 years and a couple of back surgeries later - I'm so glad I found them again! (And even that part is a testament to the personal attention you get- Peter -the owner- would reach out occasionally to check in despite me basically ghosting him for years. So technically, they found me again!)

Coming off back surgeries I thought I couldn't perform anywhere near my previous levels and had quite a bit of trepidation... that was immediately alleviated by the knowledgable training staff. It's only been 5 months since starting back up but I feel like I never left AND I'm back doing activities I honestly thought I'd have to give up after my surgeries. I truly have Prevail to thank for giving me my lifestyle back!

Prevail has been awesome! I originally joined with the hopes of building strength and getting safely coached through olympic and powerlifting movements, while working through muscle imbalances and a couple irritating injuries. Over the past few years I've continued to see consistent improvements in each of those areas. I've enjoyed the challenges of each program, -every one with new patterns being mixed in with the staff demonstrating and correcting form along the way. However my favorite aspect of Prevail has been the encouragement and accountability from the coaches and the rest of the group. -If I'm honest, the sleds move a whole lot faster, those nordic curls and accessory movements actually happen, and the slow eccentric lowers are spot-on because no one counts quite like Peter:)

I cannot recommend Prevail highly enough! After years of hip surgeries and recoveries I was feeling very deconditioned and was looking for a gym where I could begin more serious weight training and rebuild my strength. A friend suggested I try Prevail and from the moment I met Peter (the owner) I knew it was the right fit.

Peter really took the time to get to know me - my background, the challenges I’d faced with my surgeries, and what I wanted to achieve with my workouts. Our conversation helped me understand the philosophy of training at Prevail (over time “progress, not perfection” became my mantra!) and gave me the confidence to jump into class and start training.

What really sets Prevail apart for me is their commitment to personalized workouts. Whether it was modifying exercises to fit my needs, helping with my form, or adjusting weights on the fly, they were always there to support me. And the encouragement and camaraderie from my fellow Prevail-ers kept me going through the toughest days!

Although I had to leave Prevail after a year because of a move, the progress I made and the confidence I gained will stay with me forever. Whatever your fitness level or experience, Prevail is the place to help you reach your goals in a safe and supportive environment!

I am a musician, web developer, and a senior. As a pianist, I’ve developed excellent fine motor skills, but otherwise could be uncoordinated and had concerns about balance and lower back pain going forward. Sitting down all day definitely didn’t help. I was finally PREVAILED on by my wife and older son to work out at Prevail. I needed the help of their excellent physical therapist, Josh Fong, to help me get going. I’ve been doing this for several months now and my balance is solid and my back pain has pretty much disappeared. But the big surprise is that moving the support from my upper arms to my back has resulted in greater agility and speed in my fingers. I've been attending semi-private sessions at Prevail Conditioning on State St with trainers Christopher Prezotti and Matheus Alonso, and it's been nothing short of transformative. I sat on the couch a lot during the pandemic and ate a lot of ice cream. So that had some negative impact I needed to work off. However, Christopher and Matheus have been phenomenal in guiding me back into strength training with professionalism, expertise, and a personalized approach that truly sets them apart.

Christopher and Matheus are not just trainers; they are dedicated professionals who take the time to understand your individual needs, goals, and limitations. Their approach is holistic, focusing not just on physical strength but also on overall wellness, which has significantly contributed to my progress and motivation. Their sessions are well-structured, constantly rotating, challenging yet achievable, pushing you to exceed your own expectations in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What stands out the most about training with Chris and Matheus is their exceptional ability to motivate and inspire. They both possess a deep knowledge of fitness and nutrition, and they apply this expertise in a way that is both educational and empowering. Their passion for what they do is evident in every session, making the journey back to fitness an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Their professionalism extends beyond the training sessions. They are always available to answer questions, provide advice, and offer support. This level of care and dedication is rare and has made a significant difference in my fitness journey.

Prevail Conditioning is a game-changer for anyone seeking strength and conditioning. Since joining in October for twice-weekly sessions, I can't believe how much much stronger I feel.

One of the standout aspects of Prevail Conditioning is their outstanding physical therapy offerings. I initially sought help for persistent neck and shoulder pain, and Josh's expertise played a crucial role in alleviating my discomfort and getting me back on the pickleball court!

Prevail Conditioning has built genuine sense of community. The team creates an environment where you feel motivated to push your limits and achieve your fitness goals. It's more than just a workout; it's a supportive community that propels you towards success.

I take most of my classes with Coach Kyle (although the entire training staff is stellar). Kyle's coaching has been instrumental in boosting my strength. Every session brings noticeable improvements, and Kyle encourages each of us to own achievable goals and guides us towards reaching them.

My health and fitness journey started when I was 10 years old and faked a knee injury to get out of running the mile in PE. For the next 8 years, I used every excuse imagined to get out of every required PE class I attended.

My whole life, no one has ever considered me athletic, especially myself. I never had any interest or desire to “be in shape” until I turned 42 years old and had a shoulder so weak I had difficulty raising my arm above my head.

I’ve been working with Chris Perozzitti at Prevail for over 6 months and repaired my shoulder, gained tons of strength and a lot of confidence in my fitness. I recently went to Santorini, Greece and breezed up and down 2,000 ft staircases.

Chris is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about fitness, the facility is fantastic and the entire Prevail staff is so kind and encouraging. Prevail is the reason I am here in the Sierra mountains having a great hiking day, completely pain free! Two years back I had an Achilles injury. After visits to two different doctors and PT specialist hd attempted to help I found my way to Prevail. After being evaluated by Kyle I began working with Erica in the Masters class and then added doing PT with Josh. The coordination and teamwork between the two did the trick. It was so efficient! This is the place to go if you want results.

I was referred to Prevail Conditioning a year ago when, yet again, starting up on my health and fitness journey. Joining this gym and the community they have built has been one of the best decision's I have ever made for myself. While I wasn't a complete stranger to the gym - I was never consistent. I've learned so much, and gained such a supportive group of friends. The trainers (shout out to Kyle and Rowan) are so much fun to work with and very knowledgeable in their craft. They care about form and progress, not perfection. They also have a nutritional program that is optional, it is easy to follow and is based on slowly building better habits which has made such a huge impact on my performance in the gym and feeling/looking better than I can really every remember. It's not a diet, but learning how to better understand food and how to fuel your body well for better health.

No matter your goals, this gym has different programs to match them. 100/10, highly recommend!

I started at Prevail about 11 months ago and it has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. When I first started I was constantly sick, had back pain and was just not in a good place. After 11 months of going twice a week I have lost a little over 45 pounds, I have grown so much stronger mentally and physically and I have joined an amazing community. Everyone in the class is so uplifting and fun to be around. Kyle is literally the best coach I have ever had. Couldn’t recommend Prevail more!

I worked out for a couple months at Prevail, and really enjoyed it. They have a great crew -- friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, and a beautiful facility. I'd particularly like to give a shout out to Rowan, as well as the owner Pete -- thanks guys, you're awesome! They have in-house PTs which is very useful. I got a lot of very helpful tips to rehabbing my increasing stiff and uncooperative body, and always looked forward to coming in.

So as not to bury the lead, I went to bed last night thinking, "I can't wait to go to Prevail at 6am!" Frankly, I can't remember the last time I thought something like that. For background, I have been a gym member both here and abroad, and was a competitive swimmer until college, so I have a solid idea of what training is. After years of nominal exercise, I was overdue for real fitness. Prevail has great energy, the trainers are amazing and knowledgeable, and everyone is super supportive. For me, Prevail manages to strike the elusive balance - they are simultaneously encouraging yet never pushy or overbearing. The training is fantastic, flexible for all ages and conditions, with a variety of sessions, and they keep moving so I'm able to really just focus on the exercises and body form. The program structure really makes it easy for me to stay mentally grounded in the moment. In a short time I have lost weight, built up my heart health and physical fitness, and really enjoyed the process along the way. Thank you Prevail team!

I recently had the opportunity to attend a group fitness session at Prevail and was blown away by the entire experience. I appreciated the plentiful parking, clean facility, and welcoming environment. My trainer demonstrated incredible skill in providing a workout that was both challenging and appropriate for my fitness goals. I left the facility feeling both tired from the session and hungry for more.

I have been going to Prevail Conditioning for more than 7 years. During this time, I experienced several heart procedures which restricted how I exercise . Prevail helped me structure the workouts within my capability. Currently,, I exercise daily and go to Prevail twice per week. On a recent trip to San Diego my old friends noted that I was in better shape than 10 years ago. In addition I was able to finally beat them at golf! I can’t thank the whole team at Prevail enough for helping keep me healthy and vigorous even at 72!!

I was in a terrible car accident in college (30+ years ago) and was thrown out through my windshield. This caused major damage to my body and resulted in a stroke caused by a head injury. I initially went through years of rehab to learn to walk again. Because I was young, I was fortunate to recover eventually. However, because of my brain injury I was left with some balance issues and my left side has always been weaker as a result of left side paralysis from the stroke.
Over the years I have worked out-practiced yoga- Pilates-you name it- to really try to help my balance. As I’ve gotten older some things have shown up in my body because of old injuries from the wreck.

My husband started at Prevail and really encouraged me to join a couple years ago. I was on the fence but acquiesced-haha! I have had trainers throughout the years and I have done a lot of exercise…BUT I have never had someone who really took the time to understand MY body and challenges like Alexis has! From day one she thoroughly went through everything, understanding, magically, what to do with me!

This is the first time since college that I actually have improved balance! Noticeably so! I have to say after all this time I just sort of accepted that these issues couldn’t really improve much, but they have with Alexis's commitment to help me. Not only has my balance improved, but I really love how she pushes me to work on strengthening my left side. I have always hated doing work on that side of my body because it was hard and no one I worked with got it. But she does!

Also…I always HATED squats because they hurt my knees. I think I told her in the beginning that I just couldn’t do them. But she had different plans for me! Now I do squats like a champ and they NEVER hurt my knees. Why? Because Alexis taught me to use my glutes and not my knees…in other words…the right way. You would think one of the many trainers I’ve had in the past would have noticed and corrected me but the difference is that she took all the time to get to actually know and care for me, just like she does for all her clients.

Thank you a million times over for really helping and changing me for the better. I am forever grateful.

Having some knowledge and experience with fitness, I always programmed for myself and never really reached out for help with programming. However, Prevail helped me realize the value of having other smart and experienced coaches program for you! They changed variables I usually would not change and push me in a different way than I usually do myself. Those density training days are brutal! My conditioning is much better and it shows when playing sports with my friends. My consistency has also been much better since working with Prevail. It was a great way to get out of my comfort zone in fitness. It is also extremely valuable to have coaches you can bounce questions off of and a new online community to connect with!

I dropped into Prevail during my vacation to Santa Barbara, and my experience was incredible.
From the first point of contact with Jordan and the admin team to the welcoming atmosphere, and intelligent program design, I cannot say enough good things about Prevail.
As a coach myself, I was impressed with the coaching, attention to detail, compressive program, including mobility, strength, conditioning, and recovery breathing.
If I lived in the area, this would hands down be the place that I would train.
Thanks to the team for welcoming me during the trip! I’ll be back.

My partner and I started going to Prevail about 7 years ago when we retired. We wanted to be able to handle our large dog safely, travel extensively without needing help, keep up with the grandchildren, and walk the golf course! Prevail enabled us to do all that and more!
I recently had rotator cuff surgery and have really seen the value in having enough strength and flexibility to move around, reposition myself, all without help. The training in our Masters class has been invaluable to making me more comfortable and has helped in my rehab. (A side bonus is the wonderful camaraderie of the other “older” masters, as well as the love and support from all the trainers). Our lives would be much harder without Prevail, and certainly not as fun!

I've been at Prevail for a little over three months now and I'm so glad I took the step to join this team. Before joining I was very sedentary for a very long time, working an office job and eating poorly. This really took a toll on my energy levels, my mood and my just my overall outlook on life. With two young kids and a whole lot of work stress, I realized I needed a change to help get me out of my rut. With Prevail, I now have a healthy habit built into my week that I use to expand into other areas of my life. I feel stronger and healthier even after just 3 months. I have more energy to keep up with my kids and no longer struggle to pick up laundry off the floor.
Thank you to the whole team. It can be intimidating to be in a new gym, especially when others are much farther along in their journey, but I always feel a sense of community at Prevail, no matter who is in the gym that day.
Thank you to Wyatt for being so supportive, adaptive and for keeping me progressing every week. I appreciate you laughing at my lame jokes too(even though I know youre paid to do so). Thanks to Peter, Kyle, Alexis and the rest of the team for being so welcoming, supportive and accommodating. Can't wait to see where we'll be in another 3 months!

One day, my golf coach Stephen Douglas at Golftec literally walked me over to meet Peter Blumert, the owner of Prevail Conditioning to help strengthen my golf swing!
I knew of other excellent trainers in Santa Barbara but Prevail offered testing to quantify where I would begin and where I needed to go ... with balance, flexibility and strength!
Peter teamed me with Prevail's General Manager and Performance Coach, Alexis Anderson as my personal trainer. Alexis created customized exercise routines for both the gym and me at home EVERY day, with handouts and easy directions to follow. She both challenged and encouraged me tirelessly and with great kindness to develop the strength, balance and flexibility to walk gracefully and confidently, without the past experiences of tripping, falling and breaking bones.
And my distance on the golf course has much improved, too! Thank you All and God bless,

Let me start by saying I have worked out and/or played sports for most of my life. Now that I’m in my mid thirties and have kids, it’s hard to find the time for both of those. I started experiencing lower back inflammation and was lacking in motivation to start working out again. Prevail conditioning and the team there put together an at home workout routine that was flexible and challenging at the same time. My ankles, knees, hamstrings have never felt stronger. Plus, my lower back pain is gone, I have renewed motivation and I have more energy. The team at Prevail are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. As a work-from-home mom to an eight month old, I love that I can accomplish Prevail’s remote training sessions during my baby’s nap! For the first six months postpartum, I was doing postpartum workouts and knew it was time for something a little more challenging. I was nervous, but Prevail totally took care of me! They’re familiar with both pregnancy and postpartum modifications if needed. If I could describe Prevail’s style in a phrase, it would be “poco a poco” or little by little! I’m getting stronger, more flexible, more energized, and developing healthier eating habits little by little!

UPDATE: I’ve learned so much through my online training program. I learned my pelvis may be out of alignment and have been giving exercises to get my body back into alignment. When you know your body well enough to know something is off, but don’t have the language or tools to combat the problem, it can be frustrating. Prevail provides the language and the tools you need to help you feel at home in your body again and not so cooped up. I feel stronger and I know I’m on the way to more balance and alignment. For the past eight years I have been dealing with a mental roadblock. After I stopped running for my college track team I lost the desire to workout and stick with a nutrition plan. I didn't have a “why”. If i'm being honest, because I had (have) an awesome girlfriend and was no longer competing in track, I found myself sleeping in and skipping the gym. If I was feeling lethargic, I would skip the gym and tell myself tomorrow is a new day. This would go on for days, weeks and months.

At least once a year I'd try to aggressively get back into the gym and it would work - but only for a few weeks or a month. Eventually something would come up. I'd get sick, have a trip or just want to do something else. I was stuck in this terrible cycle of wanting to get back to who I used to be as an athlete but frustrated because I couldn't make any long term progress.

They say during the course of our lives we will meet around 10,000 people. The majority of these 10,000 we will never see, hear from, or interact with more than once. Occasionally, we will make a new friend or a pickle ball partner. But, every so often, we are blessed to meet individuals that will impact our lives. In my case, I am very grateful to have met Peter.

We met last September at a mutual friend's wedding (shoutout to Sean) where we exchanged numbers and connected a few months later. I explained my history of trying to get back into exercising. He shared a lot of great advice about the need to evaluate and design daily systems to accomplish our goals. Then Peter told me about a fitness app they were launching in early 2023 and asked if I wanted to be a part of testing it.

Since February I have been using their virtual program. It’s been extremely helpful for someone like me who likes to make sure I'm doing things the correct way. There are videos showcasing proper form and descriptions on the areas where I should be targeting. There are 3 workouts per week and it's a great mixture of upper, lower and core. Although it's remote, the ability to message Kyle and ask for advice has really been a big benefit!

Nearly four months after my first call with Peter I am proud to say my weight is up. But more importantly, I continue to monitor my systems for sleep, nutrition and exercise. When I first met Peter, I told him my goal wasn’t just to gain weight, but to enjoy working out again. Four months in, I can say this goal has been achieved. I am grateful and blessed that Peter and Kyle are among the 10,000 people I have met because it feels like the journey is just beginning.

Prevail Conditioning is such a different gym then I have experienced before, it really is amazing. I have been attending metabolic group classes and my body just feels incredible. My range of motion, flexibility and core strength have improved immensely. My joints don’t feel stiff, they feel loose and fluid. I don’t think my body has felt this good since I was 19 or 20 years old. Now that I recently entered my 40s, I can really feel the difference when I ski, play golf, swim & most importantly…play with my kids.
The ownership & trainers truly care, this is incomparable to any other gym I’ve ever been to. Their trainers are intelligent, encouraging, supportive and most importantly positive. I retired 15 years ago with the range of hip and upper back imbalances you expect after a career of seated office work.  I had tried a variety of training modes but still had postural and balance issues when I walked into Prevail a year and a half ago.

The team examined and tested me in detail and developed a program that worked on my specific issues and evolved as my body responded.

The result is big improvements in how I move.  After reviewing my x-rays, my orthopedist said, "Who's your trainer!?"  He couldn't believe how well my shoulders move.  I've had similar great results throughout my body.

I totally trust Prevail's guidance in making my body work better and can recommend Chris and Peter and the team they have built without reservation.

Prevail has definitely set me back up for success in terms of my own health and wellness. As a personal trainer and coach myself, I saw the benefits from this facility as soon as I started my employment. I was in the beginning stages of training for 'The Endeavor Team Challenge", a challenging yet awesome adventure race. I, like many people had slacked during the lockdown. Taking the Sports Performance class has me focusing on the fundamentals and getting my body moving efficiently. I can't thank Erin enough for teaching it and "The Mad Scientist Kyle for the programming." Thank you both for your awesomeness.

Another aspect of Prevail that has and continue to contribute to my success in training and the way I feel is Kinstretch, which is led by James. I tell members and people outside of the facility alike that this class is nothing short of life changing, and that is exactly what it is. James, thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge and pushing me to create that space.

When I got serious about my health and fitness I checked out a lot of gyms . Nothing measured up to what I found at Prevail Conditioning.
Prior to signing up I had a meeting with one of the owners who discussed with me my current and past health issues and my goals. I found him thorough, friendly and genuine. I immediately signed up for a semi private training program where I work out alongside a supportive group of a few other members who are, under the trainer's watchful eye, working on their own programs to achieve their goals. For me it's a great situation. They also offer one on one private training and group classes in person or via zoom. My husband who as a now retired entertainment executive, sat at a desk for 40 years. He is currently working privately with Kayla to strengthen and work on balance and movement and is feeling better each week.
This is a very purposed gym for people who want to age well into their later years as well as student athletes and anyone who cares about themselves. I am 60 + and mentally I think of myself around 30 but after working with Christopher at Prevail for 1 1/2 years, I am truly aging backwards physically. I am stronger, more confident and have better balance and endurance and amaze myself with what I am able to do now.
I had a small setack about a year ago when I pulled a muscle near my knee and was unable to walk. Peter called me every day to see how I was doing, suggested exercises to strengthen the muscles around my knee and referred me to a well regarded doctor and physical therapist. Within a few weeks I was back and feeling better than ever. Do yourself a favor and check out Prevail. It's money well spent and one of the best thing you can do for yourself.

I can't recommend Prevail enough. I spent a year and a half working out here after a sedentary life, and they've changed me for the better. When I first joined, I was weak and recovering from back surgery. The whole team made me feel welcome and comfortable in the gym despite plenty of self-doubt. They worked with me to focus on my core and help me get back to a baseline fitness level and then exceed it.

THe Prevail approach focuses on the whole person. Weak or strong, old or young, small or large, they will customize a workout for you and make you feel welcome and like you can achieve anything. I worked with Chris P. and Kyle during the 18 months or so I spent at the gym and cannot recommend them highly enough. Both trainers were amazing and pushed me when I needed to be pushed, but never harder than I could handle. I am in their debt. Peter, the owner, is very hands on and clearly cares about the results of each and every client. The whole team is beyond anything I could have imagined. If you're wondering if this is the right gym for you, I can assure you that it is. I've had a chance to work with almost everyone on staff and they're all wonderful.

The only reason I don't train here anymore is because I've moved out of state. I miss them dearly.

I got 3 months of one-on-one training at Prevail for a birthday present this year. I have a middle aged body and a handful of typical issues, mostly with knees and shoulders. Kayla patiently taught me a bunch of targeted excercises that have made a huge difference! I have graduated to a group workout and get stronger by the week. Prevail is a great operation run by a great crew!

My Husband started working out at Prevail months before I did, after some persuasion I decided to start going in with him. We started working out with Kyle in March 2022 and I can honestly that the last few months have been life changing! I have seen great results physically, but I have also experienced amazing results mentally. Having the support and consistency of working out at Prevail has allowed me to realize that I can do it and become stronger! Kyle does an amazing job breaking down exercises and moves in a way that makes it easy to understand, and provides feedback along the way to make sure I am perfecting the move and getting stronger. Even though it might hurt me to say it must be said: my Husband was right and working out at Prevail is worth every penny!

I came to Prevail to simultaneously rehab an injured shoulder and train in order to emerge from my injury recovery stronger and in better shape than before I got hurt.

What set Prevail apart for me was the seamless integration of the assessments done by their physical therapist (Brook) with the semi private workouts I do with Kyle & Chris.

After around six months of PT and training, my shoulder is strong and healthy enough that I can surf in solid waves for multiple days in a row, and miraculously, I have legitimate quad muscles for the first time in my life. Perhaps most important of all, I was able to avoid another shoulder surgery.

The vibe is rad, and the training staff know their stuff. Prevail rocks!

Prevail has changed my life! I came in about 3 years ago with serious back problems and walking with a limp. Now after working with Alexis I am able to move pain free and I feel strong. I love their approach to fitness and the community of trainers and clients is so positive. I am a larger person and I have never been able to go to a gym regularly and feel comfortable. Now I hate missing even a day. Highly recommend this gym for any level and ability, you won't regret it.

Prevail changed my life, quite substantially. 10 years ago I had a back injury which required surgery. Other PT and training did not stick well after the initial recovery. I had resigned to be in moderate pain and be mostly sedentary for the rest of my life.

I can’t remember quite how I got connected with them, a referral maybe, but Prevail and specifically Alexis met me where I was. They encouraged me every step of the way. They have accommodated every scheduling issue I could throw at them. They created a plan that got me back to pain free and being able to enjoy the outdoors again. They did all this through COVID, and me moving out of the state (we do virtual sessions).

Peter and Alexis are great people AND great trainers. They have a tremendous staff.

Go speak to them and work with them for a few session. I promise you won’t regret it.

I have been training with Kayla from Prevail for just over 6-months. I started based on a recommendation from my husband (also a client). As I reached 40, minor aches and pains from old injuries and bad habits started occurring more frequently and lasting longer. Kayla developed programs that targeted and strengthened those problem areas. I’m now able to go on short runs with my daughter without knee pain and throw football after football with my son without shoulder pain.

I’m so grateful for Prevail Conditioning and the wonderful people there that make it so special! I’ve always been an athlete and have struggled with injuries. I started working with Peter and Brook years ago and it changed my life. They helped me overcome an injury, make life-long changes to my nutrition and habits, and compete at a high level. Recently, I have been struggling with a persistent knee injury and returned to Prevail for help. Kyle took the time to understand my history as well as my goals. He worked with Brook to create an individualized plan to help me get back on my bike to ride hard and often. Kyle is extremely attentive to my needs and helps adjust my plan to keep me improving. I’ve been able to push myself again and tackle technical trails and features, feeling strong and safe. I’m so grateful for their support and the Prevail family! If you’re looking for injury prevention, to heal an injury, learn how to move through the world, perform at a high level, and work in a beautiful space with brilliant and attentive coaches, Prevail is the place!

I have been with Prevail since 2019. I can say without a doubt it is the best gym I have ever trained at. The vibe is so upbeat and friendly that when you walk in the door, all stress goes away. My semi-private sessions with Kyle are outstanding. He puts a lot of thought into each program and I always see progress by the end. He has even included exercises to improve my golf swing! Peter and the entire Prevail team are fantastic.

I've been training with Erin for the the last 5 months and this is the first time in years that I have done any sort of exercise consistently. Erin is genuinely invested in me reaching my fitness goals and works hard to keep me progressing with workouts that are fun and challenging. She even trains me virtually when I'm traveling which has been a game changer. The whole approach at Prevail is multi layered and goes beyond the workouts to nutrition, stretching, and learning about elite level training techniques. Her talent being an Olympic athlete has inspired me to want to carve out the time to focus on my health and strength. I love working out thanks to Erin and look forward to that time to focus on my goals with her.

I've been a Prevail for about 3 months and have seen tremendous improvement in my speed and endurance.

The best part is that Erin has been working on areas of my body that I didn't even know were weak. I've been steadily gaining strength in those areas which is why I set a new PR with the Las Vegas half marathon of 2:07:02 by shaving 5 minutes off my last PR. Ask any runner and they will tell you this is a really big deal.

I've been stagnant with my pace for over 5 years and had actually thought about giving up endurance running, and was feeling sad about that so I decided to start strength training, that decision has been one of the best I've ever made. I placed 2,998th of 13,524 runners, how great is that!

I ran a full marathon about 10 years ago and wasn't able to complete it due to having been sick and just gave up doing them because it was so hard on my body and took so long to recover.

Their support and encouragement has given me new confidence and I know I will be able to complete the full marathon if I continue to train at Prevail, I'm so grateful to everyone at Prevail because I have found my passion for running again and at 60 am convinced that my best running years are ahead and plan to continue running hopefully into my 80's.

I’m training at Prevail with Kyle to strengthen my brain! An illness left me with dizziness and balance issues that affected my everyday life. Something as simple as walking from the car to the front of the store made me dizzy and lightheaded. Kyle’s brain-based training approach has pinpointed specific areas that could benefit from targeted drills—for me, those areas are my visual and vestibular systems. After working with Kyle for just one month, I’m excited to tell you that I have seen big functional improvements! I now intentionally park far from the store just because I can—easily! Kyle seems so happy to hear of my small successes; he has been very understanding, supportive, and encouraging. I can’t wait to see what improvements come in month two!

PREVAIL IS A GREAT GYM FOR ANY FITNESS LEVEL. I LOVE GOING THERE TO WORKOUT BECAUSE IT'S SUPER CLEAN, THE INSTRUCTORS ARE AWESOME AND HIGHLY TRAINED- THEY TELL YOU WHAT TO DO IN PROPER FORM-I DON'T NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT-JUST DO WHAT THEY TELL US. THEIR EXERCISE PROGRAM IS A TRAINING SYSTEM-NOT JUST RANDOM EXERCISES-AND FACILITATES MOTIVATION, STRENGTH, MOBILITY, FUNCTION, BALANCE AND CHALLENGE. BECAUSE I AM OLDER (66) I MUST WORK WITH TRAINERS WHO ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN JOINT MOBILITY. ALSO BECAUSE I CANNOT YET GET UP OFF THE GROUND WITHOUT MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE I FEEL CONFIDENT WITH THE TRAINERS PRESENCE AS THEY ARE EAGLE EYED DURING THE CLASS AND ALWAYS ON WATCH FOR INCORRECT POSITIONING AND TO RENDER ASSISTANCE. ALSO, THE MEMBERS, THOUGH MOSTLY IN THEIR 20s, 30s and 40s ARE VERY KIND AND ENCOURAGING FOR US OLDER FOLKS. ITS FUN TO BE TRAINING WITH THEM. THEY ALSO HAVE A MASTERS CLASS TWO DAYS A WEEK SPECIFICALLY FOR SENIORS RUN BY DYLAN DEBROUWER WHO IS AN EXCELLENT AND FUN TRAINER.

I HAVE HAD THE PRIVLEDGE OF WORKING WITH THE OTHER TRAINERS, KAYLA BRENNAN, ERIN BLUMERT (AN OLYMPIC MEDALIST) AND CHRIS PRIZOTTI-ALL CREDENTIALED,TOP NOTCH AND HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEY MOTIVATE AND ENCOURAGE WHILE MINDFUL OF THE CLIENTS LIMITATIONS. ANY QUESTIONS I HAVE CAN BE DIRECTED TO PETER BLUMERT WHO IS ALWAYS ON SITE. HE IS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON TRAINING AT ALL LEVELS AND AN ALL AROUND NICE GUY. CONSIDERING THE CALIBER OF TRAINING AT PREVAIL, THE COST IS RIDICULOUSLY LOW AND AN INVESTMENT IN A HIGHER QUALITY OF LIFE WHICH OCCURS IMMEDIATELY AFTER EVERY CLASS. NO MATTER HOW I FEEL WALKING IN, AFTER CLASS I FEEL STRONGER, REJUVENATED, LIMBER, RELAXED AND READY TO FACE THE DAY.

Prevail Conditioning changed my life--genuinely. I have been working with Prevail for two years now. I came to Prevail with a chronic leg/back issue, which no one had been able to consistently help me with (including physical therapists, neurologists, other doctors). When I came in, I had just had a bad set back and could barely walk without pain. I started seeing Brook Phillips, physical therapist, and had a regular stretching regime. After a year I had improved significantly, and was actually running again! At this point I started working with one of the personal trainers, Alexis Anderson, with an at-home workout program. Between strengthening my body and continuing my physical therapy check-ins, I am the most fit and healthiest I have probably ever been. Not only has my chronic issue basically completely gone away, but I know that if it comes back, I can work with Brook and Alexis to manage it. On top of all of this, Prevail is just a very friendly, great place. Peter (owner) took a lot of time to talk with me on the phone when I was first considering Prevail to make sure it was a good fit, and helped me figure out a program that would work for me that was also financially viable since I am a graduate student. They really care about their clients at Prevail. I would recommend this place to anyone, and do frequently! Thank you, Prevail!

I am a musculoskeletal physician I have been with prevail since 1/2019 and it was the best present I ever gave myself.
I am 5’4” and two years ago I was 137lb and sedentary. Now I am 105lb and all lean muscle. I still work out twice a week over Zoom, as I changed to video classes during the pandemic.
Peter has been an incredible teacher, who is patient, kind, forgiving (my schedule is crazy!) and flexible. He has helped me eliminate the aches in my trapezius and low back which I had just come to accept as normal.
Prevail has clean and modern equipment, is a large airy space with friendly and varied clients, and boasts some of the most knowledgeable trainers I have met. They also have an in-house physical therapist evaluation and a masseuse service that can be added on.
This is way better self care than getting your hair and nails done—you’ll live longer and prettier for it!

Chris and his team of competent individuals are truly a blessing. I started going to Prevail to see Brook to address a chronic hip condition, and with his care I’ve seen a tremendous amount of improvement in terms of mobility and pain level. Additionally, I met with Dylan for a personal training session, and in tandem with Brooks’ manual therapy his guidance has vastly improved both my lifting form and mobility. I cannot recommend them enough - for all things body related, please do yourself a favor and go to Prevail. I just moved to LA, but still intend to come to Prevail for monthly sessions.

Prevail is not your regular gym! You do not get a “key” and a program with a good luck note, you do not get a screaming coach that after a few days you’re talking like them!
At prevail you get a small group class where the coach gives you the attention you need, to correct your posture, to advice on modifications you can do if it doesn’t fell right, to push you a little more!! And to be part of the little family Prevail is was one of the best things I did.

Best workout/gym experience ever. I've been a member of Prevail since 2009 (!) and here are some of the reasons why. The staff are exceptional. You get personalized, focused attention, including helping me train with a broken ankle, and returning to workouts after a few random surgical experiences. The facility is great - clean, open, and spacious. The clientele is stellar - I have met some of my very favorite people in the Prevail classes. I started at Prevail when I was in my mid fifties, and I know that Prevail is a major factor in my fitness, happiness and quality of life as I get older. I am a client for life!

Why do we go to Prevail Conditioning Performance Center? Because they deliver results in a positive, engaging environment.

My middle school-age son plays club sports and was looking for help to increase his performance and deal with typical "growth spurt" issues that affected his running.

After unsuccessfully trying to manage it ourselves, with home exercise, we took the recommendation of a teammate and joined Prevail Conditioning. The results have exceeded our expectations.

Not only does my son feel stronger, faster and more confident. He loves going to Prevail each week! Chris, and the team, have created an environment that is something different than I have experienced at any other facility.

My wife and I have been part of the Prevail community for almost 10 years and in that time we’ve seen them expand to a bigger facility and have benefited from the training by their experienced and knowledgeable staff. We’ve also seen personal growth in improved technique, increased energy, better eating habits and also in my muscles! The staff has always been mindful of my level of training experience (or lack thereof) and they have always helped me move along my training goals one hinge, one get-up, one rear-foot-elevated kettle bell squat at a time!

The last 15 months have been particularly difficult for me due to a fractured shoulder which caused me to abstain from training for a few months, but as soon as I was able to return to Prevail, it was comforting to know that the trainers would help me modify what I needed to to still get in a quality workout without compromising my recovery. With the advice and guidance from Peter, Josiah, Dylan, Chris, the new Chris, Kayla, and of course Alexis, I’m almost back to full strength and looking forward to additional gains!

I can see myself improving each week and nothing gets me more excited or keeps me motivated like seeing that improvement, and Prevail is a huge part of that.

As just one example, the adjustments to my form and body position that Dylan provided me recently on my trap bar deadlift have allowed me to move with confidence in an exercise that I've always struggled to synch up correctly and had me hitting a PR.

I am excited and happy with all the PR's I've hit recently, like in the trap bar deadlift, zercher squat, weighted pull up, and weighted push up.

Thank you again,

I stumbled upon Prevail 2 years ago through a referral from a friend and my first reaction was "How did I not hear about this place sooner?" The facility is super clean and the equipment is top notch. Beyond that, the team of coaches have been extremely supportive, and over time have become a wealth of a support system to help me accomplish and exceed my original goals. As a client in my late 30's it's important to avoid injury, and make sure I maintain mobility, and the coaches go above and beyond to ensure each individual, regardless of ability is looked after with careful detail. Over the past 2 years I've displaced 30 pounds of body fat with 20 pounds of lean muscle, and have honestly never felt better about my physical ability. HUGE THANKS to the coaches throughout my journey, and I would highly recommend Prevail to anyone looking to improve their physique and physical ability.

I’ve been training at Prevail Conditioning since 2007 after recovering from a bike crash. Through the years at Prevail, I’ve experienced group workouts and private strength training sessions that are thorough, safe, and designed to improve how my body functions on and off the bike, with the additional benefit of injury prevention. Thank you, Prevail, for all the corrections on my landings, form, stances, and knee positions. I have learned to move and jump without worry or pain--in bare feet and with shoes on. I love being able to move from exercise to exercise and working hard during the circuits. My trainer has helped me develop healthy strategies for sleep, hydration, and refueling. With the advent of COVID, Prevail stepped up to the challenge and hit the ball out of the park by providing training sessions with experienced, professional coaches. Just one year ago, if anyone had told me that I would be happy to roll out of bed before sunrise to take a virtual group training class with Peter that includes burpees, side bridges, single leg squats, and bear crawls, I would have said, “No way.” Yet that is exactly what happened, and I am so amazed at how efficient and beneficial the early morning classes have been. It's a whole new level of fitness and has become an integral part of training for me!
