Location is great. Its private which is great. Hard to find a pool, sauna, hotub and lifting combo in the area for this price point. Every machine needs to be swapped out for new equipment. Locker rooms need renovation. The the bottom of the pool is held together with patches. Under utilized Raquet ball courts could be converted to squat rack and kettlebell lifting rooms They spent money on now under utilized pickle ball courts. I don't know why the owners dont invest in the gym. Its old but It could be maintained better to make up for the lack of renovation. Shampoo or replace the carpets. Keep every piece of equipment and showers running in a timely fashion. Get front desk and cleaning staff that don't sit around on their phones. Some staff are great some are bad. Do better.

The gym staff are extremely rude and unhelpful and highly snobbish. Would not recommend; for much less you can get a membership with 24 Hour Fitness, which has better lifting equipment, and several other dedicated athletic facilities in the area.

A membership is $145/month- the equipment is really old + carpet in the weight room. I asked if they had plans of upgrading their equipment and they said no so I personally didn't think it was worth it....

Thereβs no transparency around your membershipβ¦ when I sign up, the manager said I can freeze/hold my membership for a whole month period. The flexibility is part of the reason I signed upβ¦ then when I ask to freeze/hold, they said I could only freeze for 3 months every 12 months? This critical piece of info was not relayed at allβ¦ would not recommend.

I would like to bring to your attention my experience with Imelda, the receptionist at Primetime Club. From the very first day of our membership, she has been incredibly rude and unkind to me. She often spoke to me in an angry, dismissive tone, looked down on me, and always addressed me in Spanish, her mother language, even though I was speaking to her in Englishβsomething I can only interpret as stereotyping me.
What should have been a positive and enjoyable experience turned into a dreadful year. Unfortunately, we were locked into a contract and didnβt even have the chance to use the facilities for half of that year.
This kind of behavior does not reflect the rest of the staff. Ashley, Aira, and Regina have always been incredibly kind, upbeat, and welcoming to me and my family, and I truly appreciate their professionalism and warmth.

Have been a member of this gym for many years now. It is a large and spacious gym and very convenient for me. The courts and pool are great. But the gym equipment are badly outdated, stay broken for months, the steam room and sauna are closed more often than open. The staff is kind, but unable to help with even the smallest requests. Overall, definitely not worth the $...

Be cautious if you're planning to attend the Thursday Pilates class; the instructor can be quite difficult. Good luck! Instead, I recommend trying Zumba, Cardio, or Strong classes with Karlaβthey are very friendly and eager to help you. However, if you do decide to go to the Pilates class, good luck dealing with that instructor! She's a KAREN

Weβre obsessed with Prime Time Gym!
Walking in feels like stepping into a big, happy family. Youβre greeted with smiles, good vibes, and the kind of energy that makes you actually want to work out (yes, really!).
And can we talk about Ashley?! Sheβs pure sunshine. Seriously, she lights up the whole gym and makes everyone feel welcome and loved!
Even my 2-year-old is a fan! He loves hanging out in the kidsβ space and splashing around in the pool like itβs his personal playground.
This place isnβt just a gym itβs our happy place. πͺπ thank you prime time team. We love you all.
With love,

I have been a member for 15+ years. Haven't had any interactions with the management but the group fitness instructors and staff at the front desk are the best. Love the Zumba (Vanessa), Cardio/Kick & Core (Mary) and Step (Melinda) exercise classes and instructors...the best, friendly and informative.
Front desk staff....Regina (positive energy) and Kevin (friendly and professional). Both eager to answer any questions and wish you a nice day.

I was on the fence about continuing with my membership because itβs an expensive ($145/month) gym where everything is just a little too gross and a little too worn out, but when the manager with red hair was *very* rude to me, I invoked my no tolerance policy about giving my money to a gym that clearly doesnβt want it.

Iβve had a very disappointing experience with this fitness club, particularly with the accounting and membership departments. Despite multiple attempts to communicate my concerns and needs, I was met with unhelpful and at times outright rude responses. The staff seemed more interested in enforcing rigid policies than in actually listening to or assisting their customers.
What should have been a straightforward membership issue turned into a frustrating ordeal due to a lack of transparency, empathy, and professionalism. I expected better customer service, especially from a place that promotes wellness and community. I would not recommend this club to anyone who values respectful and responsive service.

Not a bad place. I like it, it has everything you need at a gym. The only problem I have is the basketball court. The court is always slippery. You take a few steps and immediately start to lose traction and grip. I wish they would clean the court.

Itβs has the bones to be a good gym but itβs just not maintained. The steam rooms are always broken. Some of the urinals are wrapped in garbage bags. The carpet in the locker room is deteriorating. A little work would go a long way here.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but my experience has been excellent so far. Just 2 weeks in, and Iβm happy as a bee. They have just what I wanted: 1) a huge heated pool with leisure area 2) cleanliness!!! and 3) open, spaced out workout areas. I hate crowded gyms and nothing bothers me like a sweaty person next to me. The cost is a lot ($145/mo) but Iβm ok with it. The cardio machines are older but they work and thatβs all I care about. Plus they have tons of tennis and racquetball courts.

I used to love this place but since I came back after covid, the place is run down. The carpets need to be replaced, the showers need to be replaced. The women's locker room needs an update. The women's jacuzzi, steam and sauna is constantly broken and no compensation and no one that really addresses complaints. I would steer clear of this gym until updates are made.

Great club for work out and family friendly staff. Specially Kevin at the front desk.
Parking is fantastic.
The club should do something about the outdated TVβs of which about half does not even work. Theyβre paying Comcast $200/month for each 1970βs TV set that sometimes does not even work.
The club can purchase new TVβs and just get streaming TV either from google or Apple TV and save thousands of $$$ in monthly cable charges.
They can replace each TV with brand new 65inch sets and still save tons of money

they should offer a day pass [$50]
One of the only gyms with a locker room troika of steam room, sauna, whirl pool and classic old school prison showers.
If they offered a Day Pass they could make easily an extra $5,000-$10,000 a month selling them for $35-$50 a pass. Very foolish for them not too as Lifetime Fitness and Equinox make a sizable extra income selling single use Day Passes. (Itβs modern way people want options with their finances and also tons of business travelers visit the Burlingame area and they are missing this market and opportunity by not offering a day pass option).

Prime Time Athletic Club is a gem for anyone who loves to blend fitness with a touch of indulgence. Swimming in their outdoor heated pool is an absolute joy, especially with the unique bonus of it being located next to the See's Candy Factory, enveloping you in the delightful aroma of hot chocolate as you do your laps. It turns exercise from a chore into a treat! The club doesn't stop at just a fantastic swimming pool; it also offers a hot tub with relaxing jets, a steam room, and a sauna to unwind after a vigorous workout. The fully stocked showers, complete with body gel, shampoo, and conditioner, add a luxurious touch that makes getting ready after a session hassle-free and comfortable.
The only drawback I've encountered is the class schedule, which unfortunately doesn't align well with my work commitments. Despite this, the quality of the facilities and the sheer pleasure of swimming in such a delightful setting make Prime Time Athletic Club a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy their fitness routine in a unique and enjoyable environment.

First off the intake tour guide was extremely rude, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. Did not greet me (say hello) or shake my hand upon arrival. Basic meet and greet protocol.
However I gave them a chance and signed up anyway because they donβt offer any free trials.
After my first week this is my assessment. Itβs just as crowded with extremely old machines over hoarded by gym members. Dusty and filthy place overall. Carpet looks like it hasnβt been cleaned in 20 years. Jacuzziβs in the restroom are always closed. Sauna is also closed every other day.
Very y pleased and not worth your money at all. Spend a few more bucks and go to Equinox

I have been a member on and off for 30 years. This is the best family club around with something for everybody. The addition of the cafe was huge and so useful! We love spending summers at the pool. The kids can spend all day in the water! The huge price increase during the pandemic has made it a little pricey for those of us with larger families, but with there being limited options, we make it work and try to enjoy all of the clubs amenities.

Prime Time is a fantastic gym. It has the only racquetball courts on the peninsula. I'll bet you $10 you can't sneak in or out past the front desk without being welcomed or wished a good day.
Despite being quite busy, I have never wanted for a place to park or had to wait long for a piece of equipment, court, or shower.
The cleaning staff is amazing. They are omnipresent and the place is pretty spotless.
Some machines are showing their age, but most everything feels new which makes me think they have a good rotation of replacing and servicing equipment.
Oh...and heated pool. Not too warm like bath water...or the jacuzzi they have. Warm enough so you're not freezing in the pool on a cold day.
It's worth mentioning that every other patron I've encountered has been nothing less than polite and there are plenty of friendly faces who might say hi. I've also never seen anyone fail to wipe down the equipment after they have used it or leave the locker room in a mess.
I'm very happy to be a member of a gym where both the staff and the members take care of and take pride in the place.
Definitely pricey, but completely worth it.

I've been a member for a few months now and while I'm not going as often as I'd like, I've been so, so happy with the offerings.
This place has got it all with lots of space, and it's less expensive than the equinox in downtown San Mateo.
For me, the biggest benefits are arguably in what would be considered "value adds." Because they have a hot tub, sauna, and steam room, I am able to both wind up and relax, which means I'm incentivized to go for any reason. Feeling cold? Go sit in the steam room! Wanna work out but don't wanna do traditional cardio? Check out a racquet and go play racquetball or go swimming.
All in all, I've been enjoying myself, and at a price point that's expensive enough it makes me feel guilty if I don't go, but not so expensive I had to opt out entirely. Very happy here :-)

I'm glad that my wife talked into coming to check it out. The staff here, everyone is so nice and professional. They greeted me and my wife the minute we entered the building. Prime Time should feel obligation to it's members and return to normal hours of operation.
There are no requirements for the gym to continue to close early, and there is not increased risk from COVID during later hours. On the contrary, restricted hours force increased crowding that increases COVID spread.
It is apparently the decision of Prime Time to maintain restricted hours, and I'm about to give up waiting for a return to normal hours of operation.
Prime Time should be aware there are new Health Club competitors in the area that are making expanded hours available to it's members.

Primetime is not following state guidelines for fitness centers to be open during the pandemic. The GM has said masks are not required in βcardioβ rooms inside. Revised 8/2019
Used to be a great club but now, always dirty. Carpets are worn and covered with ground-in dirt and stains that are never cleaned. Sidewalk is probably cleaner!
Exercise machinery is mostly old and too often, broken, sometimes for weeks at a time! Rubber grips on machines are mostly torn or missing. Pins for weight blocks on machines are often missing.
Outside windows and mirrors are cleaned infrequently and as with the rest of the club, dirty most of the time.
The only staff you see on the floor are the contract personal trainers.

This rating is based on my impression as a potential member. I am shopping for a gym and Prime Time looks like a great facility. However, they don't list the price anywhere on their website. I find this tactic, which is quite common for gyms, to be frustrating and condescending. I promise you that forcing me to spend time speaking with you on the phone and giving me a sales pitch is NOT going to win me as a client! What are you afraid will happen if you post prices for the public to see? I don't get it at all. Well, I'm off to look at some other options around town. Stay strong!

I've been a member for about a year. Here is my humble opinion:
Pros: large pool, hot tub and saunas, friendly reception staff, wide range of activities
Cons:
1. Pool gets VERY dirty on Sundays, somebody's hair always sticks to you and one time I saw a guy spitting in the pool. I just left the pool at that point.
2. Group programs: it looks like there is variety, but honestly, only one legit trainer of group programs there is Val. Others that I've tried are just low pace trainers who just CHAT with their fellow attendants about TV shows, news etc instead of focusing on giving a decent training. This is not a book club, ladies! This is a fitness center!
3. I had to move, it happened suddenly, and I had plane tickets booked to provide as a proof that I am PHYSICALLY won't be around. I requested a termination of the contract and still was charged for the full month ahead! I asked a manager (who instantly turned his arrogant and irritated tone on) if he can at least put the last month of freeze (as they do for vacations) so that I pay $25 instead of $105, and he said NO. I changed my card number to not be charged, but they filed me to a collection agency!
Summary: if you want to pay $105 for a dirty pool, lame group classes and get filed to a collectors agency after, here is a place to go. You be the judge!

I love this gym because it doesn't feel like a warehouse. It feels like a nice club with many rooms and different environments. Doesn't feel mucho or competitive. Very opposite of 24 fitness.
Although it's a bit expensive for a single person, for couples it's just about the same fee as other gyms.

Has the potential to be great. Cardio equipment and weight machines are very dated. So e improvements have been made such as new carpet and large Tv's in lobby.
