Pure Barre has made a positive change for my body and mind. In just four months It's done more for my mental health than any physcian prescribed pill. I love Pure Barre.

Pure Barre Brea has been a great experience! All the instructors are sweet and very helpful. They take the time to correct you during the workout and are always available after class to answer any questions. The studio offers a variety of classes and time slots. I’m very grateful to everyone at Pure Barre Brea! 💕

I initially trusted this business and provided my credit card to enroll in monthly training sessions for my wife and me. The secretary assured me that I could cancel any classes by simply calling, which seemed reasonable.
However, after two months, I discovered they were charging $30 for every class we canceled. When I reached out, they claimed we had signed a policy agreeing to these charges. Neither my wife and I ever signed such a policy. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, they refused to refund the unauthorized charges.
Fortunately, my bank resolved the dispute in my favor. However, the company followed up with unprofessional and threatening emails, which I found unacceptable.
Conclusion
This business lacks transparency and professionalism. Be cautious—they may charge you without proper authorization and fail to deliver quality service. I strongly advise others to avoid this place.
Updates:
I said $30 because the studio deduct for me and my wife from the same card. So it's same meaning but the management like to play with the words to make you feel that you wrong
I didn't sign any contract me or my wife. We trust the secretary that she was talking to us and she said just call me and I will cancel for you. I was calling all the time but in the same time they was deduct the $30 for me and wife.
When I call the secretary she said that she sorry for that and that's happened automatically and she will fix it. Now the management have time to reply here or by the e-mail but they don't have time to call and fix there problem
Again. This place has a very bad management and very bad service. And they will use your information and you cards to take money from you

The worst fitness place I've ever been to. It's dark and dusty, and if you are late by 2.5 minutes, they don't let you in, although it depends on who you are and how you look—some people are allowed to be late, while others are not. They say it is a policy, however no one ever mentioned it. You have to pay a $20 fee. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Similar to other reviews, I’ve had a terrible experience with management. I froze my membership for a few months through staff at the front desk. The staff member assured me that I would not be charged for the upcoming months. I realized I was being charged $139 every month my account was supposed to be frozen and when I contacted management they said they couldn’t do anything and I was not going to receive a refund for those 3 months.
Also, you MUST give a 30 day cancellation request via email to cancel your membership. Meaning if your billing cycle is within those 30 days, you are obligated to still pay.

If you’re pregnant, beware and keep everything in writing because the contract at this studio is a total trap. This studio has a couple great instructors who really care, but the management and business are going to bring you more stress and frustration than you need during this important time in your life. I used to work at two different Pure Barre studios, and the care at the Brea location is shockingly impersonal.
I’m near my due date and have pains that are making it difficult to attend classes. I called the Pure Barre studio a week prior to my membership renewal date, and a nice woman told me she’d text her manager to get my membership freeze or cancellation squared away. She said he’d contact me, which he didn’t. I waited a few days, then followed up via email. First of all, for some reason, it’s difficult to speak to a person with the authority to alter your membership on the phone - which creates a delay in communication (but this could’ve been because I was calling around 6pm, at the end of my work day).
Secondly, they didn’t even bother to check my records and tried to tell me I couldn’t cancel. They had confused me for someone else at the studio with a similar name and just didn’t even respond to my email until I called and emailed again. Then, they tell me I have to pay another month of unlimited before I cancel because they are backdating my request to the email follow-up (do they not keep track of client communications?) - my other option would be to freeze the account and contact them 30 days prior to every renewal, so even while I’m delusional and recovering from giving birth, or they’d charge me for unlimited classes that month.
I expressed that the loopholes are frustrating, and they gaslit me saying (verbatim): “There are no loopholes in these agreements and they are rather straightforward.” No bedside manner, empathy, or regard for why this whole process might be frustrating.
I’ve asked them to call me, so we’ll see if they do. My mother had also signed up at this studio so that we could attend together, but I am frankly disgusted by the way that this location operates. I can tell you that Pure Barre locations elsewhere operate differently, and I am incredibly disappointed that a gym that touts care towards expecting mothers would treat their clients this way.
Lastly, worth mentioning for any other Asians in the community - a few Asian American friends of mine have gone to this location and have expressed that they experienced micro aggressions from staff. I haven’t experienced this myself, but I know that my mother was uncomfortable because she felt the instructors were avoiding her because of her “broken” English. We will recommend to our friends that they not waste their time or assets supporting this location.

Be careful if you join. They make up contracts that haven't been signed by you. Then they keep charging you the over priced monthly fee. Oh, and they always canceled classes.

The classes are effective, and the instructors are wonderful, however, the business model is terrible. If you decide to try the studio out, do NOT buy a membership! When you purchase a membership you have a limited time to use your credits and if you don’t use them by the allotted time you lose them. (Even though you already paid for the classes) This is a terrible way to do business! If you pay for a product, you pay for a product. They should not expire. If you are someone who would never miss a work out then the membership is for you, but for those with intense work schedules or traveling for business etc, beware.

I'm loving my pure barre experience thus far. I've attended six classes and love the way my body feels.... stronger and more toned, which are the results I was looking for. Yes, the classes are difficult but the instructors are good; they push you, but also provide options for exercises your body can't just yet handle.
I'm happy to say... I'm becoming addicted to pure barre.

I’ve always wanted to try out Barre and I finally made the decision to do it, thanks to my friend. I am so glad that I’ve joined! It’s definitely a good challenge and a good sweat. And working out those muscles that I never knew I had. I feel and see the difference in my body and leave me to wanting to come 3x more a week. I look forward to class and the instructors and staff are motivating and so friendly.

Absolutely love Pure Barre! Started with a free week trial, went every day, and now I'm a member. They offer a lot of different packages that could fit pretty much whatever type of schedule you're looking for. This studio is located right by downtown brea so there's always people around and I feel safe going to class at any time of the day. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. The class is fast paced, which I wasn't expecting, but it makes you work in a good way. The instructors also do a really good job about walking around the room and checking everyone's form so you don't feel forgotten. If you want a fully body work out with a nice burn in your abs, arms, and booty, I highly reccommed this class!

I purchased the Groupon for 5 classes and quickly decided to buy a package. Pure Barre is a great workout, and everyone at the Brea location is helpful and friendly. From my very first visit, they made me feel comfortable. The place is clean, and their website makes it easy to get information and reserve a spot in the classes. The instructors modify exercises for all fitness levels and each instructor changes the workout slightly so you are always doing something new and challenging. You feel it working every part of your body. I would definitely recommend trying Pure Barre - it's challenging, but well worth it!
