Here at PIT FIT (Pure Interval Training Fitness), we’re committed to helping you achieve your fitness goals. Our founder, Tawna Hutchinson, spent years as a personal trainer and eventually decided it was time to turn her vision for a personal training studio into a reality. We tailor your workouts so you can get the results you want -- no matter where you’re starting from. We offer private sessions and group classes, making it easy to work out the way that you want to. And with our variety of exercise and nutritional plans and encouraging atmosphere, you’ll get to work toward a healthier you in a safe, enjoyable way.

My two favorite trainers are Phil and Andrew. Phil’s classes are not only super effective, but he also genuinely cares about your overall health, including your diet and habits, making sure you’re on the right track both inside and outside the gym. Andrew brings a friendly, youthful vibe that instantly lifts your mood and gets you energized for the day. He’s very encouraging, always there to fix your form when you’re not doing it correctly, ensuring you get the most out of every workout safely.

If you want a gym where you’ll feel welcomed, supported, and constantly motivated, this is definitely the place to be!

The people at PIT FIT are amazing! I feel pushed and motivated to achieve my fitness goals. The personal trainers helped me identify a nutrition plan catered to me, coach me through a variety of different workouts, and support me through encouragement! I started out at 2 classes a week, but I'm definitely investing in myself to enroll in as many classes a month as I can make!

Update:
I restarted my fitness journey almost a year ago. My wife had talked me into trying out a class, and I can say that the first class is always the hardest. I was gassed and acutely aware of just how out-of-shape I had become. We all have to start from some place, whether that's getting back into a fitness routine after the COVID lockdown, or an injury.

Some reasons I would recommend PIT FIT:
- The Trainers: Tawna, Tyler, Andrew, Phil and crew are invested in your growth, return to fitness, injury prevention/attention, and nutrition. They'll push you if they think you can go harder/heavier. They'll put you on a nutrition plan and teach you about macros to hit for your specific fitness and body goals.

- The Program: Classes are 50 minutes, 10 people maximum. There's plenty of weights for everyone in the class to have a wide array of options for the exercises of the day. Calorie burn, heart rate, and activity levels are tracked through an activity monitor and app, and there's even a gamification element where awards are handed out at the end of class. Personally, I prefer to show up to a class and have a quick, efficient workout planned than go to a large gym and durdle for a couple hours to get in a workout.

While I don't have any specific fitness goals in mind, I've noticed that I feel stronger, my posture is better (maybe due to the increased back muscles) and I've upped to the unlimited class plan, up from the 2 class per week plan.

PIT FIT is AWESOMEEE!!!! I've been going there for about 6 months and I've already seen and felt major improvements. I have Andrew as a personal trainer, who I see once a week, and I couldn't be happier.

Andrew is an excellent trainer who has helped me with my weight loss goals, developing better eating habit, and all around confidence boosting. He is a great, down to earth trainer and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a PT.

Also, the rest of the staff is really nice and friendly and fun. I haven't personally tried the boot-camp classes but they look intense, sweat-inducing and run by great trainers.

I can't speak enough good about this gym. The trainers really do care about each member and are constantly checking in to make sure we're staying on track with our fitness goals. They're highly knowledgeable, friendly, and motivating. The other members are welcoming and there are no egos here. Everyone pushes each other. The gym is incredibly clean, well stocked with a wide variety of equipment, and parking is easy and free.

If I could give 100 stars I would. Besides all the amazing trainers, the clients are next level as well. I was diagnosed with a medical condition that has been a difficult road to navigate through. I have never felt so welcomed and so comfortable in a gym until now. The trainers and clients support each other. When you walk in down , they bring you up. They route for each other and help get each other to their goals. It’s a team sport. They have helped me through the hardest times this year. I've been a member for over a year now, and I'm in the best shape of my life. The workouts combine strength, cardio, endurance, and agility. It's low impact, so injuries aren't a concern. I joined PIT FIT in June 2021 and I have absolutely loved coming here! The atmosphere here is wonderful and much more personal than a large gym.
Gagik “G” is my personal trainer and he is amazing. In one month he helped me lose 6 pounds of fat and gain a pound of muscle. He is very professional and knows how to inspire you to keep pushing yourself even when you’re tired and your muscles are burning. He changes up the workout on a weekly basis to keep it fresh and challenging and I am learning so much from him. “G” is very conscious of form and makes sure you are doing the workouts properly for the best results.

I started at PITFIT a little over two months ago and what a difference that has made. I went from barely being able to lift air to working with 12-15 LB weights. I have notice a difference in how my clothes are fitting and more importantly how I feel about myself. More confident.

Finally, I am doing the well-deserved thing - writing a review for the place that has changed my life to some extent. When I first called the place in November 2020, and was offered a one-week free pass, I had little to no intention of even completing a week, and after that, conveniently retiring to my sedentary workout free super busy life style. Little did I know that this call I made would lead to a transformation of body and mind!!! I hate working out and all my life have done everything not to join a gym or hire personal trainer. However, there was something about this place, that kept me coming back for more, and before I knew I was a fully paid member with access to unlimited sessions! I can't believe it is mid-April of 2021, and I am still a full member of PitFit.

I started with Tawna, who made me feel comfortable since day 1, and supported me in my transition. When I met Tyler on the weekend during my first week, I was convinced that I wouldn't last there more than another week. However, I realized that both Tawna and Tyler often tailor the workout sessions based on individual needs (even though these are small group classes) and find ways to make them fun. It feels like a second family now that I know most of the members in my classes. Working out has become a source of enjoyment, fun, and socialization for me now and I regret not finding this place earlier. Anyone who has known me all my life, wouldn't believe that I look forward to my classes/sessions. I am more energetic and have a more positive look towards things in life, who knew working out in the backyard with other like-minded individuals can be this metamorphic for someone like me.

In addition, my teenage son also joined the personal training sessions with Tyler and looks forward to his 1:1 session every week.

I am normally too busy to write reviews, however PIT Fitness deserves my time. I am a 64-year young woman who has always worked 12-hour+ days with constant business travel until COVID hit. Spending more time at home, I realized how weak and out of shape I truly was.

My sister talked me into going to PIT Fitness with her twice a week beginning in late September. Tawna Hutchinson is our personal trainer and I am astounded by her professionalism, her training knowledge, as well as her support and guidance during each session. Every week we are pushed a little more and we never have the same routine, same weights or same # of repetitions. We are constantly improving and getting stronger and more fit.

As a matter of fact...it was super embarrassing at first, because I had not realized that besides losing my strength, I had also lost my coordination, my balance and my ability to remember multiple sequences. This deterioration can happen to us when we age...but it doesn't have to. So, not only am I am getting stronger, I am recapturing my lost skills.

In regards to safety, we work out outside with plenty of distance between us. At the end of every session we cleanse all of the equipment thoroughly.

I can’t say enough about Pit Fit. I have been working out here for 2 ½ years and will continue to do so as long as I have breath! It truly is a life changer and one of the best decisions I have ever made! The classes are challenging, yet fun. No two work outs are the same so you don’t get bored with repetition. Class sizes are smaller which enables the trainers to give you one-on-one instruction on form and how to get the most out of your workout. It’s the cleanest studio you will ever find, prices are affordable and there are several class times available to fit any schedule. The Workouts are intense and effective no matter your age or fitness level. The other folks who work out here have their own personal reasons and goals for doing so and are so motivating to be around that you find yourself tapping into that energy and pushing yourself further. If you have any physical issues, the instructors will create workarounds that are effective so you can burn those calories without worrying about aggravating an existing injury or condition. Not only do you get personal attention and encouragement during your workout, Tawna also helps you with nutrition, meal planning and learning what combos of food are best AND she doesn’t shame you when you have a crazy weekend as tomorrow is another day! What kind of instructor at a gym or studio gives you that kind of one-on-one help and encouragement? Tawna does! You lose weight and get in shape at Pit Fit without feeling like you’re missing out on life. Thanks to Pit Fit, I lost 50 pounds and my insecurities and gained a new lease on life. A nice little gym with no thrills but has the basics down to a tee. Like well stocked gym equipment that is in good working order, fresh supply of towels (free of charge), cold water, clean floors, nice selection of music and last but certainly mot least, highly knowledgable staff who are invested as much (if not more) in your success as you are. Great little gem of a gym in North Glendale with free parking. What’s there not to like? Pit Fit keep up the GREAT work and thank you !!!!

I’ve been training with Tawna for about 5 yrs now. She helped me lose my 1st pregnancy weight and also trained me through my 2nd pregnancy. When I did private training I used to say that she was also my therapist! The group workouts are also great because it’s always different and the other members are so nice. She will definitely push you during the workouts. You may hate her during the training but will definitely love her afterwards. =)
I think her facility is clean and well maintained. Parking is easily accessible which is always a plus for me!

I was really reluctant to start working out again, got dragged out by my mom to Pit Fit. By the first few minutes I had a change of heart. Tawna is fantastic, she understands that everyone is different and we all work at our own pace, and she's open and so much fun to talk to! Working one on one was great and we achieved great results. I have been at PitFit for nearly 2 years. A great community of people plus great training. Questions are always answered and the trainers are very knowledgeable and workouts are well thought out as to avoid any injuries. If you have an existing injury they always modify and think of ways to help. It is a small enough group that you have accountability. Everyone is comfortable working out at each ones level, together. Those days when one doesn’t want to be there, I always leave glad to have gone.
For me the routine of 3x a week is perfect.

This place is great! The atmosphere is very positive and motivating with a laser focus on personal goals. Some days I want to go heavy, other days I want a slower pace. My comfort is never jeopardized by a pushy trainer yelling in my face. The emphasis is on wellness and bettering myself at the pace I'm most comfortable with. Highly recommend!
