RagaYoga is my place for yoga and to recharge, because of the great teachers there, the tranquil environment, and the well organized studio.
Wes Linch and CJ, the two teachers I follow, are the big reasons for me to haul all the way from Orinda. After the pandemic and leaving the gym scene, I made a conscious effort to advance my yoga. The environment at RagaYoga gave me that chance without the restrictions from the gym.
One of the best yoga teachers I have found and follow is Wes Linch who is one of 7 teachers at RagaYoga. He is old school at the same time he blends modern medical information to his practice. This means he is very sensitive to alignment for both the stiff people and the mobile people while preventing injury. I have always been impressed by his gentle spirit, while motivating me with his positive attitude. Wes has the ability to “read the room” meaning he can analyze people’s mood, abilities, and strength. At the same time, safety is his biggest concern with a healthy approach to yoga. Students call him Dr. Wes since he has the skill to help those with pain or movement difficulties . His sequencing of poses has a purpose from beginning to end. His attention to props such as the chair is specialized, something the gym yoga couldn’t do. He gives me the tools to put into my tool box when it comes to overcoming my physical pain and regulate myself.
Another reason I love RagaYoga is CJ. She has a sensitivity to the challenges of the female body, at the same time she can kick butt for those guys who want the strength training movements. I enjoy her hammock system that blends movements of yoga while isolating parts of the body to reveal my weaknesses and focuses the need for strength. Never did I know how weak my left hip was until she knocked on its door. She is the queen of props too, using blocks, straps, blankets, balls etc to challenge my body in surprising ways. Students come in either as beginners or advanced practitioners, but she caters to both. She focuses on helping people with their issues and I see her navigate the classes with that in mind. Both teachers are clear in their instructions and each day there is a plan of course. There are other teachers at RagaYoga, but unfortunately I cannot attend all of those good people due to my weekend and end of the day schedule.
RagaYoga is beautifully set up. The large practice room with hand painted walls has draping colorful hammocks from the metal girders above. Even the decorated lobby and bathroom feels welcoming while the studio is organized and clean. This peaceful environment with great teachers is why RagaYoga has many loyal students. I love the special workshops or classes that are taught from well recognized teachers such as HS Arun from Bangalore, Eddie Modestini from Maui, etc. RagaYoga has the best package for me, great teachers in the best environment that is well run.

Our aerial class with Katie was amazing! Clear instructions, soft and gentle guidance, and smiles and giggles were shared among the class. Such a wonderful time, I would totally do again.

I’ve been a regular student at Raga since they reopened after the COVID shutdown. The teachers at Raga are committed to providing a tremendous learning experience and can work with all levels of students. There is a wide variety of class types, including aerial and more restorative teaching. My favorite teachers are Wes, CJ, and Maria - each bring their unique style to this great studio in our local community

A beautiful studio in Walnut Creek with authentic practice. I am brand new but have done yoga for 12+ years and instructors seem very knowledgeable and lead great sessions.

Updating for our times... Raga is streaming daily classes live and offering prerecorded classes for us to follow along at home. Connecting in the time of social distancing -- thanks CJ!
Previous Review: I've been coming regularly 3-5 days/week since the studio opened last fall and I loooove this yoga studio. CJ and her team are the best! Super supportive and student-focused with something for everyone from beginner on up. In addition to the usual range of yoga classes, they offer innovative classes using hammocks for restorative, stretching, and strength building classes. Check out their drop-in $5 Friday flow class at 6 pm.

So glad I came across Raga Yoga! I usually go to yoga studios in SF but recently been wanting to find one in the Walnut Creek area especially one that includes aerial yoga classes. CJ and all the instructors here are amazing and patient! I automatically feel calm and more in tune with my body/inner being whenever I step into this cute studio and after each class I feel peaceful. I love that they have a wide range of classes (which welcome beginner levels like myself) including roll model method therapy balls which include self-myofascial release - these help SO MUCH with my lower back tension. Also, they have a new special going on for new members to try out classes which is a super great deal! I even got a friend to join me. Definitely give this yoga studio a try you wont regret it - I've been going at least 3-5 times a week now so it has easily become my sanctuary and happy place. :D Thank you CJ and your awesome team for all you do!!!

I practiced with CJ before at a previous studio and loved her strength and grace style of teaching. So, I joined Raga Yoga right when memberships were available and the space that CJ has created is stunning! Light, bright, clean. The classes are great for all levels and there is such a wide variety offered. There are always fun little things happening at the studio and I simply love coming each time. If you need a space in the East Bay offering some different, creative approaches to growing your practice, this is it!

So much LOVE for this place. What a GEM! So happy that I found Raga Yoga — and that I have been able to (re)discover Yoga with CJ and all of the amazing instructors (I have mostly frequented classes with Tamalyn, Maria and CJ — and they are spectacular). Its a bright, beautiful, open space, and so welcoming. Music is always on point, and I always feel fantastic walking out of there. Really can’t say enough good things. Thank you, Raga! 🙏🏼❤️

The space CJ and her team have created is EVERYTHING! When I practice in this sanctuary I’m flooded with emotion - light, love, abundance, warmth, comfort, growth, calm, community, peace, strength, empowerment, gratitude and everything in between. The classes offered are both physically and mentally dynamic, versatile and purposeful. I am so very thankful to be able flow, glow, and grow at Raga Yoga.

This yoga studio is amazing! Bright, clean, beautiful, eco-friendly setting. I have taken the flow, raga flow, and the get lifted classes. Each were fun and challenging. Staff are courteous and the teachers are super knowledgeable and experienced. I would highly recommend this studio.
