We joined Red Dragon Karate February of 2024 right after my daughter turned 4. Prior to starting karate, my daughter couldn’t be without me. She needed me right next to her to try new things which many sports aren’t fond of. Sensei Joe Class understood right away and allowed me to stand next to her or simply be near her inside the dojo until SHE was ready to let go. And sure enough, her self confidence grew, her social skills improved, and from one day to the next, she was walking herself into the dojo. We appreciated Sensei’s patience and commitment to our class (mini dragons). He definitely has a way of teaching young kids, making it fun, but also instilling discipline, a growth mindset, and life long skills one can only get from karate. After a day of practice and discipline, he always ends the class with a game to keep the mood light and send the kids home laughing and smiling. Thank you Sensei Joe Class!

When I was looking for a Dojo, I found Red Dragon Ontario. I’ve been a student for 1 year and I really enjoy training there under Sensei Joe Class. Master Joe Class is an exceptional sensei here at Red Dragon Karate Ontario dojo. He gives all of his students the attention that they need and deserve to be successful while learning sparring, weapons and judo techniques, among others. In his small classes, all of the students and their families are very supportive of us and one another. Master Joe is consistent and keeps the dojo very clean and organized, and my son, Jeremiah, really likes that his sensei makes learning karate fun! We have been here for over 2 years, with my daughter recently joining as well and we appreciate learning from a 6th degree black belt who really knows his stuff! Sensei Joe is dedicated to his dojo and to his students, we wouldn't go anywhere else.

BEWARE: Read his other reviews. Joe is extremely disrespectful and uncomfortable to discuss with. He makes you pay for so many things and gets mad if you question anything. There is barely anyone within the age group you practice with, so you practice against little kids or hit a bag for an hour. We spent over 300 dollars with this guy. He just wants your money. 0/10.

Best dojo ever! Sensei Joe, hands down is the best sensei around. Red Dragon karate is by far the best Karate program around and has been for over 50 years. Kids love red dragon. American Karate is a mixture of many Martial Arts including Ninjitsu. Which makes it fun. Kids love learning all the different weapons. I highly suggest you try Red Dragon! Not only your kids, but they have adult classes too! 5 star!

I am beyond happy with this karate studio. My nephew is not only learning karate, and excelling, he has really come out of his shell. I believe so much of this is due to the incredible staff, in particular Master Class. He has a wonderful way with his students, he pushes them to be their best and it has had a huge impact on my nephew. Would highly recommend this studio.

Joe (owner of the gym) painted a good picture to want to enroll my kids. Yes, we had high expectations and enjoyed the classes for 4 weeks until we decided to drop out. My daughter was attacked at school and none of the technics that were taught were used. Therefore we decided to go elsewhere and Joe was not supported at all. Instead, was very rude and disrespectful over the phone. A person that can get that low should not be trusted to teach children.

Waist of money and time, paid hundreds of dollars to get my kids out the house, we could do that at the park for free, most days my 2 boys had no other kids to fight against, when kids do show up, all random ages . I was told something completely different. Find a better school if you want your kids to learn self defense and want to be challenged, bring your kids here if you want to spend hundreds a month for them to play karate for fun. Then he wanted to charge me for another month lol nope.

Red Dragon Karate-Ontario: THE CLOSEST THING TO A CURE!

My adult son was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe Autism at age 5. We were told he would "never be able to do" many, many things. Well, let me tell you what happens when you surround a special needs individual with the strong, POSITIVE role models at RDK Ontario:

-Improved Mood and Facial Affect
-Improved Fine and Gross Motor Skills
-A Lifetime of Tip-Toe Walking...ALMOST COMPLETELY RESOLVED!
-Reduction in Need to "Stim" on days he's gone to class
-Increased ability to follow multi-step directions...he was stuck at 2 steps...he can sometimes track with 3 (familiar) step directives now!
-45 pounds......GONE!!!

I'm thankful that Master Class was up to the challenge when it came to taking on a student with so many needs. This instructor is COMPLETELY invested in, and committed to his special needs student base.

Additionally, the atmosphere is just fantastic. You've gotta come check out the RDK Ontario dojo and join the family!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The teacher is rude to the point where my kids and I felt so uncomfortable we had to cancel our contract after only 3 classes...last class I got there early enough to get good parking but the "sensei" said to move because the space was just for drop offs..but soon enough after we moved another mom parked there and wasn't asked to move..we were waiting outside with 2 toddlers and got called out by the "sensei" because my toddler took out a dead green leaf...omg tell me how much I owe you for a green leaf??? Will not be returning to this location ever...rancho and chino locations are completely different we were treated with respect and our business was appreciated...

Please Beware also look at his Yelp reviews. My experience in the less than two weeks with Joe has been the absolute worst. I have three children 13, 10 and 6. My 13 year old wanted to learn with a similar age group and therefore before we began we spoke to Joe about this matter he convinced me and ended up charging me an additional $60 dollars in order to start her with her brothers, the first payment I gave was cash and I did not receive a receipt. I was told the white belt classes were 3 x per week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for 1 hour starting at 6:30 pm. The first day we went in the class ended at 7:20 pm I figured it was fine not a big deal. But there were no kids at 7:30 around the same age group as my 13 year old instead there was 7 year olds. My daughter decided that she did not want to be learning with children in that age group later that night I texted and called Joe and we got into a discussion because he stated there were no refunds. I said he can use that money for next months payment and he said "No" I explained that he technically lied to me because there were no kids her age group. Next day he realized he was wrong and said he can use the money for next months payment. On day 2 and 3 he ended the sessions at 7 pm. When I asked him he about it he said that class was 30 minutes, again lied to me. On there 6th day my boys arrived on time with Spanish speaker Grandma he asked all the children to go in for kickboxing and because my kids are a white belt they did not go in. I arrived at 7:30 and my mom says to me that they had yet to be called in. Joe sees me and I sit we are waiting for him to finish at 7:45 it occurs to him to acknowledge us and he tell my children that there class already passed and that he called them in and they did not go up. My son said to him that he called for the kickboxing not white belt. With a disappointed face on my 10 year old boy he still manages to try to blame them. I decided to step in at this point and told him that he was rude for doing that especially since it was only there second week. I was talking to him in a low voice in order for no one to hear us and he starts screaming and being disrespectful for the 3rd time in a matter of 2 weeks. I needed to ask my children to step out of the building because my son was going to cry. Joe is rude and a bully he teaches and expects respect but does not give it back. I asked him for a refund and he refuses to give me any money back my kids only went in for five days of training and I was charged $260 dollars. Joe wasted my time and money. Please make sure you get everything in writing and get your receipt. I will not tolerate this therefore will be taking him to court.

Master class is a great teacher he knows how to work with students of all ages. Me and my sons joined four months ago and we love it I have been fortunate to meet some of his black belt students that have grown up and I am truly happy with the results of their training. It shows that master class is like a good parent and raised his students right.

What an amazingly great martial arts gym to train at. The instructor sensi Joe Class is a well respected black belt in both karate and judo.
When I train here I feel as if i am surrounded by an encouraging eviroment and friendly individuals.
Every day I find myself losing weight, and accomplishing small goals. One step at a time.
The students are well taken care of and taught correctly in both martial arts and technique.

I have two boys. My oldest has ADHD some days he has a hard time because he gets distracted very easily but Sensei Class is very patient with him. He believes in them and they know it so they try their very best. They've gone to two tournaments so far and they've gone in very confident and excited and we have three 3rd place trophies and one 2nd place. Proud parents of two very happy and confident boys.

My sisters and I go here and we have had an outstanding experience so far. Master class is very patient especially with children with disabilities. I just want everyone to know this Karate place is amazing! My three children go here and absolutely love Sensei Joe Class ! He is
a iwonderful teacher with alot of patience. Especially with Disabilities .Two of my children have Disabilities and they are doing so good and are so focused! My children have learned so much and look forward to coming and learning new techniques every week! They look forward to the tournaments and bringing home medals and trophies! It has taught me good self-defense moves when I started in January. It was also fun when we went to competition and I went as a master white belt and I got second place. I have been taking my kids to Red Dragon Karate for 2 years now. We love it. It has taught my 9 year old daughter some great katas with and without weapons. And she is now also taking kickboxing. My 4 year old son is now being taught the nun-chucks and catching on great with the excellent teachings of Master Class. I take kickboxing and absolutely love it, even though it kicks my butt. I totally recommend Red Dragon Karate to anyone and everyone. Everyone should check it out, from children and adults. Master Joe Class is an outstanding Instructor. He is fantastic at teaching Mixed Martial arts. He spends quality time with each person to ensure they are obtaining the correct fundamentals into the training. My kids have coming here since 2009. My niece suggested it after she saw how withdrawn my daughter was becoming because of bullying. My niece at that time was becoming a black belt herself after years of training. She too was a victim of bullying. It had really helped her and she was actually able to defend herself after being attacked by 4 girls at school. My daughters bullying wasn't as severe but it had started very early in her life. She was only 5. I wanted to make sure it never got to that point. My now 12 year old daughter is a black belt herself and well on her way to 2nd degree after years of consistent training, practicing and dedication. My 10 year old daughter who was diagnosed with autism has also been training here since she was 4. Of course at the beginning she had a lot of problems with two or more step directions but Master Joe Class and never gave up on her. With years of patience and consistency she has been able to learn nunchucks, kamas, bo staff and various form katas. She had even been able to participate in tournaments. She is now learning Muay Thai kickboxing which to my surprise and amazement is becoming very good at. Thank you, Master Joe Class.

My kids have been coming here consistently for over 6 years. With structure discipline and dedication they have learned some impressive self defense skills, they have competed in tournaments and have gained pride and self confidence. They have learn to set goals and achieve them, which I feel have carried over into their school work, where they also excel. I've been going here for a little while now and I'd have to say that I enjoy it a lot ! Sensei class is an awesome teacher. I really like that the class is not only building our self defense skills and mind but that we are having fun at the same time. I know from past karate places the teacher had been to strict or just boring . But master class makes the class very fun and enjoyable but also teaches us what's necessary. I also take the kick boxing / cardio class that I believe is just the greatest thing ever . Not only am I getting fit but I'm having fun . I have been a student of master Class since I was a little kid. I think I may have been 8 or 9 when my dad signed me up. He signed me up because I was getting bullied at school and he wanted me to protect myself when the time was right. I am now 24 years old and not once have I ever had a confrontation with anyone ever since I joined. I have never looked for trouble. I joined in order to become brave but I sure have learned so much more from Sensei. I learned to respect my parents, to care about others, to have discipline, a good attitude, to cherish the bonds and interactions that I have with everyday people. Now a lot has happened in my life and Sensei has been there through the good times and bad. After my dad passed away when I was 19,Sensei acted as a father figure to me. Being one of his students he has always looked out for my well being. I can guarantee that he cares and wants the best for all who step foot into his dojo. The martial arts part of the studio is amazing. I have had so much fun learning on the never endless journey of knowledge, I can definitely say I can defend myself, but I can also avoid any situation where I won't have to put myself in any risk. The best way I can describe sensei's teachings are that they are superb, ultra high quality, tough at times but man do they pay off. I've learned many different forms of martial arts, and one of the best things I've learned is to try to be humble and noble. Maybe you want to sign up your kids for the same reason my dad signed me up, maybe you want to sign yourself up for adult classes, either way it's a decision I promise you won't ever regret.

My two daughters started training with Master Class around February. I have seen very well improvement in their attitude and school work. Master Class is a great instructor. My daughters have been in Red Dragon Karate with Master Class for about six months now and are almost ready for their blue belts. He works great with kids and takes the time to fix their mistakes to make them better and better. It is great to see them improve on their motor skills and hard tasks. Coming from a Christian home, karate has helped me impose more Christian values with more discipline and has helped our family be more alarmed.

My son Czedrick has been training under Master Joe Class since he was four years old and now that he's almost eight, I can see so much improvement not only in his martial arts skills but in his personality as a whole. If not for Master Class' patience and dedication, Czedrick would not make it this far, even winning competitions since he was five. Red Dragon Karate made a huge impact in boosting my son's self confidence, discipline and getting along well with others. I have been training with Master Class since 2012 and if it was not for his attention to detail in self-defense situations I would not be where I am today. He takes great care in making sure his students are prepared, aware, and able to defend themselves in real life situations. I have trained under other instructors but never to this degree or enthusiasm. This studio is not about pushing students through the ranks but making sure they know their techniques to a point that it's second nature when and how to use them. This is not just a studio, it's my second home. It's a place for every age, size, gender, and ability. Master Joe Class is an outstanding martial arts instructor. I joined first as a way to lose weight, and learn to be able to defend myself. While training under Master Class, I lost over 30 lbs in just a couple of months, as well gained the knowledge to defend myself. I then signed up my kids, loving the positive effects I was having. My daughter started through a Bully Defense Class, and learned how to use her voice and body to defend herself. She gained self esteem, and self confidence through learning martial arts. My son has ADD and I thought his "issue" would present a problem for Master Class. However, again to my surprise he was able to not only get my son to focus but also keep his focus. I have tried other martial arts school, but here at Red Dragon you're not just a customer, they treat you like family.
