Setup/cancellation and management is unprofessional and just a headache. Took weeks of phone tag just to try to cancel my membership, and I've still been getting charged despite them saying it was cancelled. Like other members, I also had to put a block on my account.

I went up for several days for New Year’s and was looking for a gym. Rim was great little gym that had everything I needed for a great workout. Hans was great at setting me up and it also was a friendly workout environment. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others

The owner of this gym took money out of my account by accident 3 times and screwed up my bank account. When I ask for my money back he never showed up to meet with me. I never received the money back and quit. They don’t allow the curtains to be open so it’s very claustrophobic. I would work out around 9pm and always seem to run into a group of young men that used it for a hangout. I felt very uncomfortable being in a room with about 7 young men that just used it as a meet up place. Not recommended if you’re a woman who goes alone. Not recommended if you don’t want them taking money out of your account even though it was their fault. I gave it 2 stars because they did have good hours and for the most part the machines worked

Gym is terrible, waited months for a heater and we were working out without a heater. Be ready to workout in a room 45-50 degrees. Paid in full for one year and only went for 3 months, it’s that bad. The guy obviously does not care for the gym and is cheaping out his business to maximize profit

Where to even start…

Pros:
- rarely busy, come at a good time and it’s even empty
- central location with decent parking
- no weirdos, only nice people, including the main staff guy I’m sorry forget your name
- has more or less all you need to work out
- basically open 24/7

Cons:
- if death metal is playing on the radio it will blast through your noise cancelling headphones
- depressing atmosphere, no TVs, not allowed to open the blinds
- roof leaking in winter (but think they fixed it)
- cleanliness is concerning. gym is cleaned once a month at best, nobody wipes down equipment, and no paper towels just rags to wipe machines that don’t get washed
- water machine always broken so have to buy their 3$ water
- no lockers, just cubbies, but always been super safe
- can’t touch the lights, second room they’re automatic so they turn off sometimes mid workout
- price of essentially 80$ a month is painful for what you get. no showers and just one toilet with no paper towels
- equipment is never inspected, lots are rusted (eg weights and lat pulldown), lots are broken and weren’t fixed during the many months I’ve been going. genuine safety concern
- no AC just some ceiling fans so summer is super smelly, sweaty, and hard to breathe
- signing up here felt like a burden cause they kept rescheduling our visit
- sketchy they only take cash and second + third time I paid no receipt

Only place in Crestline to workout until they open that altitude gym, so if you need exercise beyond running the lake, it definitely fits the bill and you’ll get your workout done no problem. Perhaps this is hearsay but everyone in town talks down about this place and the owner. Him, his wife, and daughter are always nice to me. Unfortunately, gotta leave an honest review

The old owner, Jim was very helpful and friendly. The gym was clean and not crowded. Plenty of equipment and the month to month fee is very affordable. Alot has changed.

Amazing little gym has everything you need for a great workout. I’ve been a member for months now and have had no issues. I’m not sure why so many bad reviews about cleanliness? There’s disinfectant spray on both ends of the gym. As members clean up after yourself. I have nothing but great things to say about the owners! Great customer service, available to answer any questions I may have about the equipment available. Equipment works fine and gets the job done. I love the privacy and all the extras provided. If you want a place to hang out, this is not it but if you’re a real gym goer this is perfect place for you.

Shady new owners came and ruined the place

Edit; hello gym owners you don’t have to know me lol I have in fact been to every place I reviewed. You bought the place and took all the good equipment away and it no longer became a good place for people who wanted to work out. Insulting someone because you can’t track them in your system says a lot about your business practices.

Seriously the worst gym I have ever been to. The area is not cleaned at all. Some of the equipment doesn’t work. The owner is very shady. Good luck cancelling your membership once you enroll. Took me 6 months…

Edit for the reply: I was told when I was enrolling that I would be able to pause my membership for two months because I was going to be traveling. I was guaranteed that it would be possible. Well it never happened. Since the terms of our agreement was not hold by Hans when I returned I wanted to cancel my membership. I was told that it is not possible and I KEPT my membership for 6 months and wanted to terminate it when the time was up. It took two more months to be able to cancel the membership. My phones were never answered. Messages never answered. Had to put a block through my bank account. I can post the communication here because I was on the verge of going to small claims court over it.

Dirty gym. I tried to cancel a month after joining naturally wouldn't be let out of contract despite still being on lock down for covid.
Then after being advised by a lawyer to pay out contract then sue after. I paid out contract not worth it to sue . canceled called left messages to cancel texted the owner and they won't cancel me and are now trying to go after for more money. DO NOT TRUST.

One of the best gyms I’ve been too. I vacationed in Crestline for a couple of days and was able to get a week pass at a reasonable price for it being the only gym in the town. All the equipment is pretty new and up to date. It is well sanitized and Covid-19 precautions are in place. The owner Hans is a nice and professional guy. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Crestline and Lake Arrowhead.

Excellent personal training. My trainer, Hans, really cares and goes above and beyond to help me achieve my goals. Very knowledgeable. Small and private gym that feels more personal with all the equipment of a large gym. Highly recommended!

The owner is completely dishonest and has THE worst business practices I have ever encountered. Completely disrespectful. He does not conduct the proper maintenance on the equipment and it very obvious from several of the machines, 2 of which were broken the entire year I used the gym. Good luck if you choose this place as your gym, you’re better off getting your own equipment at home.

I am going to RTWF for about a month now. So far great experience. Especially living in the mountains, very convenient to have a gym here.
The owner Hans, one of the nicest person you will meet, very sincere and genuine. He is very personable and knowledgable for any questions you will have. Place is always clean and tidy.
So far every person I met there who are exercising is also so nice, everyone is friendly and talk to each other unlike in the other big chain gym companies, you feel like you are being a part of a community.
And I have everything I need to work out every muscle group in my body. What else I can ask for!!!

DO NOT JOIN! I signed up for a 6 month membership which was to end April 2020. Since the gym has been closed due to COVID I emailed the gym to confirm my membership had been cancelled and also inquired about a credit for the months it was closed. The owner Hans informed me that I had to give a 30 day notice to cancel my 6 month membership. This made no sense and they never gave me a copy of the agreement. If you sign up for a certain time frame it should end when expected with no hidden fees. They are not upfront owners!

This is an excellant gym. The owners are very nice, personable and very knowledgeable on instruction on all machines. They have given me the confidence that I can do the exercises on the machines and I can! It is clean and maintained very nicely. The big advantage is it is right here on our mountain.
