Predatory marketing with many text messages from multiple phone numbers, no way to opt out or block the constant marketing. Attend one class and regret it.
The class itself was fine, albiet a bit of a chaotic flow sequence. The studio could be cleaner.

I started going to Ritual Hot Yoga as a complete beginner to yoga. I did not own a mat, and I did not want to purchase any supplies in case I decided down the line that yoga was not for me. I had certainly never exercised in a heated room before. So, when I learned that this studio would provide all the supplies during class, I went ahead and gave it a try.
I met with a teacher for a short private lesson before starting my first group class. I got a tour of the facilities (very clean) and received a short demonstration of some common poses that would come up in class a lot. The instructor set my expectations for how a typical class would progress, so I did not feel caught off guard during my first group class.
Every teacher that I have met has been personable and supportive. The group classes are done in a very, very dark room. I typically can't see much at the beginning of class, but my eyes adjust by the time we finish the meditation portion of the class. I appreciate the atmosphere because it is easier to focus on myself despite practicing in a group setting. Transitions between poses become faster as the class progresses, and I still struggle to keep up. However, the upbeat music keeps me motivated. Also, nothing feels better than the cool eucalyptus towel on my forehead at the end of the stretching portion of the class.
I love how many classes they offer each day, so I am always able to find a class to join that works with my schedule, last minute.
My health has steadily improved since I started coming to this studio. Highly recommend!

Practicing in the dark with candlelight feels grounding and safe, and I adore their affirmations deck and mindful guidance during shavasana. Always leave feeling lighter and more centered.

I originally left a 2-star review after my first class because it felt unsafe and impossible to follow. The studio actually reached out and invited me back for a complimentary class with Sydney — and wow, what a difference.
Sydney gave me about 15 minutes of one-on-one guidance before class, which helped me finally understand the flow and what to expect. During class, she also placed me between two experienced students so I could easily follow along when I felt unsure.
The result: I actually enjoyed myself, kept up with the pace, and felt like I was learning instead of just struggling. Sydney is amazing — she turned my experience completely around. I’m updating my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars (with Sydney).
Old review
Told the instructor it was my first class — she stuck me in the dark, across the room, in a yoga session moving faster than a car chase, with pose names that sounded like inside jokes. Spent half the time craning my neck, the other half wondering if I should sign a liability waiver. If you want calm and mindful, skip it. If you want to flirt with injury, welcome home.

I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but after giving this studio 5–6 tries, I’ve noticed it has gone downhill with each visit. To start with the positives: the staff is always incredibly kind, the music is fantastic, and I genuinely appreciate the heated space. That said, sometimes the heat tips over from invigorating to suffocating, which can make it uncomfortable.
The main challenges for me are with the transitions, pacing, and overall flow of class. At times, the instructors lose rhythm, which breaks what should feel like a rigorous yet relaxing workout. The room itself is also extremely dark—so much so that it’s difficult to see demonstrations, which makes balance and following along unnecessarily hard.
I really want to keep coming back because the studio is so conveniently located, but I’ve found myself going to other neighborhoods simply because the classes are too disjointed to enjoy. It’s not that the workouts are too challenging—it’s that the overall user experience has become frustratingly poor, which makes it hard to commit.

Ok, oh boy. Let's start with positives:
- The studio space is expansive and well-maintained. There's a nice seating area, coffee bar, restrooms/showers, and lockers (the kind where you set your own code...in other words, you don't need to bring a lock or trade your first-born child to borrow a lock from the front desk).
- They provide high-quality (IMO) mats, towels, and props, for FREE. This is a huge plus for me as I travel a lot and don't really like lugging my yoga gear around.
- The instructor was sweet and welcoming. He offered a tour of the facility and gave me a brief intro/explanation of the class format. I honestly liked him.
- The heat was on point!
Now for the less great feedback:
- When I first moved to the Bay in 2021, I remember looking up studios I might want to apply to teach at and being immediately turned off by the culty vibe of this place. After taking class there, my initial assessment seems accurate. This an insular community that prides itself on being exclusive and "unlike other yoga studios." They've given their own unique names to numerous postures, and some of their sequencing is truly bizarre. As a seasoned yogi, I had no clue what was going on for about 80% of the class.
- Classes are "candle-lit" in an otherwise dark room. Fam, I've taken candle-lit classes before, and there's typically some other form of gentle light in the space so you can actually see yourself and other people in the room. This class was DARK. I genuinely could not see anything except my hand in front of my face.
- Which brings me to my biggest issue... the instructor was offering hands-on assists and massages (?) in a pitch black room, without any verbal consent. As someone who has experienced their fair share of sexual harassment and assault, I don't love being touched by a stranger in the dark with no warning. This seems like painfully obvious feedback that I'm shocked the owners hadn't already considered. If you're looking for trauma-informed yoga, this ain't it!!
- Lastly, the pace was way too fast. Although I couldn't see much, it didn't seem like anyone in the class was keeping up with the insane pace. Moving too quickly compromises the integrity of the practice and increases risk of injury. It also means the instructor has no time to offer meaningful feedback or adjustments for their students. Not a great combo, though you will certainly break a sweat.
TLDR: if you're looking for a Soul Cycle-type experience or want to feel like you're doing yoga at a Hollister in 2004, this is the spot for you! If you'd prefer to feel safe and good in your body and want to receive thoughtful, tailored instruction, look elsewhere.

I really wanted to like this place, it's a beautiful studio and a very cozy lounge/locker area. However, I have never been to a class with as wacky of transitions between poses as this studio (think one leg staff pose to bird of paradise???). The transitions continued to be weird and uncomfy, and I was just hoping that I was not going to slip on the mat towel and hurt myself. Also - they only have one working shower and it's pretty scummy looking inside and there were no more shower towels left so I had to use one of their provided mat towels for my shower. I'll continue to practice yoga at other studios in town instead

I want to start by saying I am passionate about yoga and was super excited to try out a class here based on all the great reviews. I am visiting SF so the full service aspect was really helpful.
The studio itself is very nice. Clean, open, and the instructor seemed very nice and friendly. However, the class itself was a very poor experience.
I am a 200hr certified yoga instructor. The room itself is candle lit and heated, but at the start of class the teacher turned off the lights completely. I’m all for a dim lit class for the vibe, but it was totally too dark that you couldn’t see any demos and it made it very hard to balance. ALSO! The studio is fully tilted from right to left. I thought I was going crazy but it made it so hard to balance and caused me to tense up in my calves.
There were several things flawed with the flow of class - first, there was no integration to the flow. No spinal warm ups, no forward folds, no hamstring or lower back opening before jumping immediately into it. We did half pidgeon within the first 5 minutes of class? That’s very strange and not safe for people who have tight hip flexors. Second, there was absolutely no cueing. The instructor simply said the breath and then the pose without any explanation on how to get into it safely. If I didn’t know the name of the posture it was very difficult to keep up with the class, and it was so dark that you couldn’t even copy your neighbor if you tried. Lastly, she said she offered hands on assists at the beginning of class. I expected form corrections or at least offering blocks or deepening. There was none of that. Instead we got massaged with oil??
Overall I left the class more confused than relaxed. I’m not sure if it’s just this class and not a statement about the overall studio? But I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re expecting vinyasa flow.

I have been going to Ritual SOMA for about 6 years now. The instructors are all fantastic and the hot Yoga and Abs classes are very challenging, while the Yin classes are nice, gentle stretching. The facility is clean and they provide yoga mats, may towels and lovely short massages at the beginning and end of classes.

I have been going to Ritual for 5+ years and it's been an absolute pleasure! The staff is inviting, friendly, and willing to help any way they can. The experience can be intense for newbies but I highly recommend sticking with it by attending multiple sessions and you'll be hooked. Members get a monthly private session with instructors to work on form, too. Overall, happy to have this studio so close to home!

Ritual is such a unique hot yoga studio! I've tried many other studios and none are like it. You flow in candlelight (so fun and vibey!) set to upbeat music. The workout is 50 minutes and always challenging yet doable (even to a beginner yogi) since they level out the poses 1-4. They always incorporate at least one inversion and one standing pose in addition to the traditional yoga poses so you really get to work on your practice.
At the end of class, right before savasana, they put a cool eucalyptus towel and your face and THE BEST PART, a mini massage! They will also do hands-on adjustments (if you want) during the workout so that you can be in the correct alignment.
One of the other amazing things about Ritual is the community - each class is limited to 20-something people so that the teacher can really see everyone and it makes it a great place to know people before- and after- class.
Keep an eye out for pop-up events too! The staff gets really creative and they events are so fun. There's also yin yoga (more relaxing with deeper stretches) and sound baths.
Ritual is also all-inclusive - in terms of acceptance as well as providing mats and towels and all the things! I highly, highly recommend that you check it out!

Thought it was just opened because the chandelier is too long and candles on back wall were clearly in the way of several poses. Kept banging against the chandelier myself and someone else kicked the candles in the back.
Novel instruction aside, it’s so dark you can’t see the instructor modeling the poses, and the music is so loud you can’t hear the *other* instructor who is speaking into the headset.
They’ve also renamed certain poses because it didn’t quite fit their four count format…. So if you’re familiar with traditional yoga poses that doesn’t quite help you understand.
Just doesn’t quite work.

Nestled in a gray industrial building on Howard Street, marked by striking flame imagery and the mantra "Breathe to the Beat," Ritual Hot Yoga has masterfully transformed a raw SoMa space into San Francisco's most atmospheric group fitness experience. This isn't your traditional yoga studio – it's a high-energy, music-driven physical practice that borrows from yoga's rich traditions while boldly stepping into modern group fitness territory.
THE SPACE & AMBIANCE
The moment you step through the door at 1122 Howard, you're transported from the gritty SoMa streets into an urban sanctuary that perfectly balances industrial edge with thoughtful luxury. Exposed beams and concrete floors meet elegant orbital chandeliers and plush leather seating areas. The studio has crafted distinct zones that flow seamlessly – from the welcoming retail space featuring carefully curated activewear, to the comfortable pre-class lounging areas where members gather barefoot on designer rugs, to the immaculately maintained shower facilities for post-practice refreshing.
THE PRACTICE
Ritual's signature offering is a mirror-filled, faux candlelit hot room where traditional yoga meets high-intensity training. Electric candles dot the perimeter of each mat space, creating an almost ceremonial atmosphere that belies the sweat-inducing session about to unfold. This is where Ritual truly distinguishes itself from traditional yoga studios:
- Format: Quick-paced 50-minute classes that maximize every moment
- Temperature: Heated room that promotes flexibility and heavy sweating
- Music: Carefully curated playlists that sync with movement sequences
- Instruction: Dual instructor format with surprising hands-on adjustments and standard verbal cues
- Structure: Progressive sequences building to challenging peak poses
- Options: Four levels of pose variations accommodating beginners to advanced practitioners
THE EXPERIENCE
Each class feels like a carefully orchestrated production. The mirror-lined front wall serve both functional and psychological purposes – allowing practitioners to check alignment while creating an infinity effect that makes the space feel vast and immersive and provides a chance to check out more of your peers. The darkness, punctuated by strategic faux candlelight, helps participants focus inward despite the group setting.
What sets Ritual apart is its ability to create an experience that's simultaneously personal and communal. While the practice is undeniably challenging, the studio's emphasis on options and modifications means everyone from fitness newcomers to seasoned athletes can find their edge. The dual instructor format ensures both expert demonstration and hands-on guidance, creating a secure environment for pushing boundaries.
AMENITIES & EXTRAS
Ritual eliminates common barriers to practice by providing all necessary equipment:
- Premium yoga mats
- Mat sweat towels
- Blocks and straps
- Shower facilities with premium products
- Spacious changing areas
- Filtered water station
COMMUNITY VIBE
Perhaps most impressive is how Ritual has cultivated a community feeling within a premium fitness environment. The studio's layout encourages pre and post-class mingling, with members often gathering on the leather couches or browsing the retail section. Despite the high-end touches, there's a decidedly unpretentious atmosphere where everyone from tech professionals to fitness enthusiasts feels welcome.
INVESTMENT IN PRACTICE
While Ritual positions itself in the premium category of fitness experiences, the all-inclusive nature of the offering (no need to bring or maintain your own equipment) and the efficiency of the workout format make it a compelling value proposition for busy San Franciscans. The studio's presence on ClassPass offers flexibility for those wanting to sample the experience before committing.
Ritual Hot Yoga bridges the gap between traditional yoga and modern fitness needs. It's not for purists seeking a traditional breath work centric yoga.

This yoga studio is top notch. The instructors are great, the studio is very clean, beautiful and offers a lot of amenities and supplies. I love the touch of the lights off, lit candles, and a eucalyptus cold cloth at the end. You really get into the zone with the whole experience. They also offer different levels of poses to fit everyone’s ability while in class—so you can be a beginner or advanced and you will get a good workout in. It is the perfect end to my work day everyday and it really helps keep my mental and physical health in check. Everyone is so welcoming and kind as well. Can’t suggest this place enough!

I love this studio so much. It’s so welcoming to any new yogis. I also love everything about the ritual class: loud upbeat music, dark/candle-lit studio, two teachers per class one providing hands on assists, massages during opening and closing meditations, cold eucalyptus towels during savasana. If you’re a true traditional yogi, you probably won’t like their spin on the practice, but if you’re open to new types of yoga, it’s amazing. It also is fast paced and can sometimes take 2-3 classes to really understand how it flows…in my opinion though, once you get it, you’ll be hooked! I was a member from 2015-2018, moved away for four years and couldn’t find a studio that even came close to what they offer, and was so excited to move back to practice here again.

This was the first yoga class I’ve ever taken where there were no cues to move between poses - eg(from downdog.. step right foot forward between hands, back foot at 45 degrees, sweep the hands up - warrior 1)… instead the pose was called out and then one movement that was part of the pose afterwards -absolutely backwards.
it was at such a rapid pace - there was no time to focus and engage into the majority of poses.
the transitions made no sense - high plank to handstand was a transition or lateral lunge to reverse warrior on the opposite leg - these are nonsensical transitions for a vinyasa flow.
No true prep for peak poses - doing camel pose without a set of chest and back opening poses like cobra, puppy, or bow is dangerous at best and because there were no cues beginners wouldn’t know about variations of camel… that or moving into handstand/headstand without cues will likely lead to new people being injured at this studio.
Maybe it was one class but since it was at a main hour on a weekday, have to assume typical.
Studio is nice and modern.

Ritual is a super unique yoga practice where you flow to the beat of the music. First timers, don’t shy away after your first class! It does take some getting to the ritual flow style. Love the all inclusive experience, no need to bring anything, just show up. They have all the tower and equipments you need for class and shower etc. very continent. Taco Tuesday smells so good.
Con is I feel the class is best for ppl who are used to their pace, it was dark and fast pace, hard to follow for new comers. It’s like a yoga HIIT class. Not suitable for ppl who have injuries, and I felt it’s was a bit easy to hurt myself I’d move too fast or do it wrong. They have TA to help on correction but felt not enough instructions overall. My bkg: I’ve done yoga many years, knows most typical poses, but have leg and wrist injuries.
But the teacher’s voice was beautiful and the ending towel was nice. Not much massage though, it was more of holding your upper arm for 5s.

Comically bad. Instructors call out poses in lieu of giving instructions or demonstrations, postures aren’t corrected, moments at the end of class which should be for contemplation or at least relaxation are always punctuated by the instructor telling a grim story about their past transgressions or traumas. Very strange. At least the room is warm
To their credit they do provide good amenities - many class options, yoga mats, towels, water bottles, and kombucha on Fridays

I've been coming to ritual hot yoga for over a year now and I Love Ritual.
Every teacher is unique in their own way but the style of the class is the same. It's a challenging 1 hour yoga class in a hot room (inclusive of intro meditation and savasana). They welcome all bodies and styles. You get a warm up, then a flow that we reeat 4 times x2 for each side. 2 with guidance and 2 in our own. There is also a bit of an ab workout and finally more flow. There is a peak pose each week and you can see how much you improve. Levels are up yo you but they do from 1 to 4. I can personalize it depending on my goals and how my body feels.
The music and flows depend on the teachers. For example, one will have more arm work and another one zero.
They also offer yin restorative yoga classes and I use these to work through any pain.

I know most people don’t carry cash, but $5 is always a nice gesture to your instructor. Good:
- Good amenities - showers, towels, mats and blocks
- Fun class - felt like it was pretty hard for a yoga class - they even had some pretty long core sections in the middle of it and the instructor was great about teaching
- They even did a mini massage at the end that I enjoyed.
Bad:
- Smelled pretty funny in the studio
- Super hot in the studio - wanted more water break cues

Unlike other yoga studios in SF. Ritual has a fun, high intensity, beat driven, but also mindful approach which I love and does not get boring (even after a year now). The staff instructors are all super professional and friendly with different teaching styles, music and flows. Don’t get me wrong it is hot and challenging! On the flipside there is tons of encouragement and inspiration from the teachers plus a cold eucalyptus towel at the end. I found this place while on a vacation trip to San Francisco. Went to a class unannounced and was warmly welcomed by Kelly. She offered me the ten day special, signed me up, and showed me around. They have everything and are a full service studio. They provide all the needed supplies and so many amenities- mat, towel, face towels, blocks, straps, water station, showers with goodies to use, and lockers come with a lock. The class is very unique than most yoga I have done. The hot room (FiDi location) is painted a deep maroon and class is performed in the dark. Kelly’s class was fast paced, challenging and so fun. I sat on the struggle bus—-but as an advanced yogi that was excellent. During the 50 min hot yoga class, Kelly gave cues for the flow with beautiful demos. She offered encouraging remarks by name to all the yogis in attendance. She empowered me with the offerings of levels one to four for each pose. By the end of the class, I was trying higher levels of poses I don’t typically do in my practice. The class also included a few moments at the beginning and end with some essential oil massage and a cool eucalyptus towel during savasana. What a wonderful experience the entire thing was for me! Thank you Kelly for the energy you shared with me. I can’t wait to go back!

I contacted the studio and they provided an explanation, mentioned they would refund me and offered another class later that day. I asked if I could do the free class the following day and never heard back. I also had to follow-up on the refund as it wasn’t done when they mentioned, but only two days later.

It took me a few classes to get the hang of it, and every instructor is a bit different. After several classes with each instructor, I feel I generally get a great workout, and if I ever find myself unable to keep up or get lost, it’s fine to hang in a static pose until I figure it out.
Super helpful instructors, and always a good workout. I find it is sensory overload, music, lights, etc, but I am super focused and feel amazing all day after class.
Rachel in particular, whom I had my free yoga sesh with, was detail oriented, thorough, and super helpful to guide me to further enhance my growth.
As a minimum wage worker in the city I do find the price to be high, but also feel I get FULL value out of it—it is my one fitness investment, and I am super happy to get everything I need and more from a workout in one location.
Might not be best for beginners, one should definitely know a few poses before coming to help feel established.

Tried the 10 day trial- I've been doing Hot yoga for over a year at another studio. It was cheap enough that it was worth a shot. I was pretty disappointed
Pros:
-they provide towels and mats, but they also don't let you use your own if you want to. The mat towels are not Yogitoes or towels with grippers on the bottoms, so despite the clamps they slide. I would much rather be allowed to use my own equipment.
Cons:
-The studio bathrooms and showers are pretty beat up, it seems like they're charging fancy gym prices (ie. saying they have Eucalyptus towels) for YMCA facilities.
-Super crowded classes. The room is too packed to see your reflection in the mirror or use that for balance. I tried multiple instructors but found the cues to be unique to this studio and hard to follow.
-Instructors are yelling instructions the whole time so there is very little meditation
-The website only works on certain browsers, so its inconvenient to sign up or cancel classes.
-Biggest one for me: There is no pose correction or feedback! Because you are barely holding a pose for 10 seconds, nobody is giving feedback to people holding poses incorrectly! This seems like the biggest red flag to me- a huge part of learning yoga is learning form, not forcing your body into a posture that you "could do" but really aren't ready for. Tons of people around me were new to yoga or not regularly going and nobody was helping them with form. I would far rather have a simple studio experience with no frills, towels, massages, etc. but actually have an hour long class with attention to poses.

This was my first experience attending live yoga classes. At first, I was attracted to the dark atmosphere that contrasts from everyday surroundings. Though, the new facility is not what I'd label as luxury. It's more about the class. After a few sessions, I became impressed by the song selections, variety of flows and detox sweating. (Don't be ashamed to wear earplugs - you'll never go back to raw audio). Classes typically begin with a moment of calmness, then they kick off with some quick ab work followed by a power-esque intro to each pose, and a fast-paced flow that demands your full physical and mental focus. With only a few breaths in each pose, you are challenged to do your best in the present moment and transition with graceful control. Over the course of several months, the Ritual Hot Yoga practice dramatically improved my physique and posture. The instructors are superstars.

Completely different type of yoga. Great for all levels, but it helps knowing the pose names and fundamentals ahead of time. Mixed crowd from seasoned yogis to classpassers just giving it a try.
The teachers are all exceptionally talented at developing challenging but rewarding flows. Try taking a Yin class for intense deep stretches after a normal Ritual class!

One word: amazing. This is the one of the best yoga studios I have ever been to. The atmosphere and the many details make this a great spot for yoga. I also love the hot yoga and the ambience with the candles. I’ve been mainly working with Sophie and Danimal, both great teachers. They give you a free bottle of water and you can use showers afterwards. They provide the yoga mats and accessories you could need. This is the new standard for hot yoga and it’s hard for me to to back to the other places now.

I loved all the classes I took here! The most impressive part is how well they accommodate all skill levels. Not only did the main instructor offer different poses for different levels, but the secondary instructor provided great hands-on adjustments for those of us who need the extra help. In short - Ritual classes offer the benefits of private instruction without all the pressure, which is awesome. Plus there’s a pretty fantastic mini-massage involved.
I highly recommend Ritual to everyone!

Will forever recommend Ritual from those just exploring (like myself) to the master yogi's. Instructors ensure that this is MY time to check out and give full focus on myself with all the craziness going on during the day.
Ritual is more than just a Monday night physical work out its a Monday night mental break as well and they've set the environment up just perfectly for that.

I truly love attending yoga classes at Ritual Hot Yoga! I’ve been going to both studios since they’ve opened in San Francisco and it’s been life changing. It’s my lunch time ritual where I get one hour of me time - my escape and my ritual - everyday. The yoga is fast paced but you can choose your level from beginner to advance. The instructors are all amazing and they truly love teaching yoga to the beat of the music. It’s my yoga forever home and my daily ritual. Namaste Ritual Hot Yoga.

I found this place to not be worth the money. The actual yoga part is 30 min max. It’s trying to be trendy, which makes it pretentious and the opposite of a yoga practice. So if you want trend vs wellness, go for it.

This studio offers way more than just a workout, it's a totally relaxing session for me. So they focus on hot, fast yoga. You will move way faster than in any other yoga class. They have pretty nice music to accompany the workout and the whole session is done in candlelight. What I enjoy most are the little rituals, they have body oils you can use before class, a cold eucalyptus towel at the end and even a short massage. It's just the perfect way to start your day or finish it or at anytime really. You will leave this place feeling like new!

pros- clean, efficient, nice shower area/accoutrements, lovely space, eucalyptus towel at the end is a nice touch.
cons- found that the music was so loud that I couldn't focus at all on my breath or finding a medative state. the instructor (while knowledgeable and sweet) talked over the music loudly throughout the class and didn't allow much time for silence or introspection (it was a yin class.) there was also a lot of spiritual chatter thrown in which isn't my jam personally.
if you like "trendy" yoga you will probably like this studio. honestly, I just found the vibe was distracting me from my practice and ability to focus.
staff were really chill and did end up refunding me the new student fees and I only paid for a drop in. seems like a cool studio if it's what your into, just wasn't for me.

Love this yoga studio! I feel like it's one of the best in the city! It's clean, and you don't have to worry about bringing a yoga mat or towel. They have thought of everything to make your experience comfortable, from the hair ties, lip balm, yoga blocks, and clips to keep your yoga mat in place. The room is heated, lit by candles, and sometimes has incense burning. Each class has slightly different postures and sequences, but I get a great workout each time. It's a fast flow and gets your heart rate beating. I like how you flow with the music in class. The instructor also places a chilled eucalyptus towel over your face at the end of class during savasana and gives you a little back, neck, and head massage. Highly recommend!

Love the ambiance, however I was locked out of the first 5 minutes(during the 5 min. It's dark, the teacher is talking) of the 50 min. class, while I was being showed how to lock the locker which was next to the yoga room. Then when I asked how much the class was? I was told it was 30$ for a drop-in. I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to having the whole experience. I could go in after the introduction but decided to go to CorePower where my first class was FREE. I also was not locked out for the first 5 min. I could understand if I was late but I was literally standing right there!

I've been going to Ritual Yoga now for about 6 months and I'm a huge fan. At times my job can be stressful, but starting off my day with a ritual class makes a considerable difference in my mood and energy levels. The instructors each have their own styles, and it's nice to have this variety. I love that I don't have to bring anything to class except myself. It's less so a "class" and more so an "experience". I rarely write reviews, but I wrote this one because I'm a true believer in what they offer.

Truly Outstanding. I have never written a review of a yoga studio (or any service / product) before, and yet, had such an incredible experience at Ritual, that I felt compelled to share. Four reasons:
1. Studio is clean, warm, and full of great energy; the mats are neatly aligned, and given that I was in SF for business from NYC, I particularly appreciated the seamless nature of the experience (ie, visitors do not need to bring mat, towels, etc.) "Just bring yourself." Awesome.
2. Classes were a perfect combination of meditative, exhausting (in the moment), and energizing (way I felt for the rest of the day). The instruction was excellent. I liked how in addition to the main instructor, there was a facilitator walking the room that assisted in various poses.
3. The Signup process was very easy; I registered for the 10-class beginner package via the mobile App, and it took less than 3 minutes.
4. Biggest reason, however, is the Ritual team. I have done yoga less than 10 times in my life, and felt a little self-conscious walking in. They welcomed me, got me set up, and when I came back a second (and third) time, were warm and gracious; greeting me by name, and making me feel as if I had attended the studio for years.
Excited for my next trip to SF; I will be back to Ritual.

This is my second time here ever, but I've been to countless yoga studios and guess what?! Ritual Hot Yoga is my favorite!!!
I came and found this place through class pass, and I came in with my boyfriend last minute Sunday morning. The classes, unlike regular hot/Bikram is that this class changes things up. Which, compared to regular yoga classes, stay the same..
After my first class Sunday, I immediately signed up for the intro and I'm here again Monday evening for the 5:10pm.
Going to see how consistent I am this week and probably sign up for the $200 membership next, which gives me unlimited personal and ritual classes. How awesome!?
So why!? Why is this yoga studio the best? Because the vibe is amazing, it's upbeat, and the instructors are all great. They brand themselves and differentiate themselves by offering full service (yoga mats, towels, water, etc)
The room is candle lit and dark, hard wood, and it smells like euculiptus/tea tree. It's awesome cause you don't see everyone sweating their face off and it doesn't smell, like a lot of other hot yoga studios.
This is by far the best best yoga studio I've ever discovered and it's one I plan on sticking with!!!

I go to yoga classes for meditating environment with good instructors that can relax me with words and music into deeper stretches and movements. I look for a peaceful workout that allows me to increase my flexibility and ease my nerves. This place is a soul cycle. Walked in with boyfriend on a Saturday morning. Loud pop music, screaming instructors, very very crowded room, dim light like in some weird massage parlor, all resulting in a Zumba class style fast food yoga experience. Do not recommend for serious yogis.

I took the Thursday morning class, and out of many hours of yoga, it is the best class I have ever taken. They provided everything including a mat, towel, mini massage during and cool lavender towel for your brow after. The lighting was candlelight, the music and instructor's voice were uplifting and positive. I was so happy and at peace when I left that even traffic couldn't shake my zen. I almost don't want to recommend this class for fear it will end up so crowded that I will have to share this amazing space with the whole city! Peace, love and music, Ritual. You rock!
