Love Roar!! My sister brought me along to four classes while I was visiting from overseas. Supportive classmates, awesome instructors, well-designed classes - and the facilities are super clean and no-frills. Thank you!!!!!

Went to the Lower Body Focus class this morning and it was hard! Still, I know it's making me stronger. This is my 3rd class at Roar Ocean and it's taking me a while to get used to the flow of the class and style of the instructors. I definitely needed to give myself more rest breaks. I'm totally coming back though! I've also taken the Upper Body Focus and Total Body classes. I do prefer those although it's great that there are other focuses because I have a sore shoulder so a bunch of glute and leg work was perfect for me today.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll always work harder for an instructor in a group class than slogging through it solo. I LOVE the vibe of Roar: supportive, but not saccharine, challenging but not shouty and stressful. It’s really telling that it seems like a lot of the ladies know eachother from having taken class together. Plus, the music is fun and it’s nice not having to think about the workout plans. Highly, highly recommend!

This is the best studio with the most talented instructors. The workouts are so efficient and thoughtfully curated. I leave feeling like a better version of myself every single time. The instructors are also amazing at watching your form and giving feedback for all levels. I love both their Noe and Ocean Ave locations and mix it up during the week according to my schedule. It is such an empowering, uplifting, and judgement free environment for women who want to get stronger.

I go as often as I can to personal training and classes. I am a local physician and prescribe Roar to my patients as well. The ladies who work at and own this business are treasures. I'm so grateful that they are in the neighborhood!

I’m obsessed with Roar and the ladies who run it! I’m so grateful to have found such a safe space to get strong. I’m going through chemo for breast cancer and want to do strength training during my treatment as I’ve noticed it helps mitigate my side effects and also makes me feel powerful during an otherwise challenging time. I recommend Roar to folks at any level who want to get or stay strong.

I’m new to strength training. In fact, I actually hate working out…

I’ve been coming to Roar for just over a month, and I can’t imagine my life without them now. The classes feature a super wide variety of ages, athletic abilities, and goals. There are women in their 20s and some in their 70s, new moms, etc. The instructors offer a solid pace of movements and modifications based on the abilities/injuries of the attendees. I’m able to slowly build up my strength from 0 without feeling any judgement. That’s not easy for me to say as I have a lot of trauma from the American gym class curriculum (if you know, you know).

All in all, the classes feel supportive and focused. The instructors are matter of fact with their leading of the classes. I appreciate this greatly, because I want to make sure I’m doing things correctly, with good form, know how much time is left, and be told what’s next. I don’t need a steady stream of “okay ladies here’s some inspiration! 🌈🦋”, and prefer “let’s try the heavier weight on this one and see that you really are stronger than you think ⚡️🔥👏🏻”

With that in mind, the classes are extremely efficient and I’ve felt my strength grow in just over a month. I leave the classes feeling super tired and accomplished.

If you’re scared of trying it, this is my way of saying: just try 1 class! If you hate it, you never have to do it again.

But I hope you’ll be inspired to give yourself a shot at getting stronger. This is the perfect place to do it.

Enjoyed my first class here! Studio was welcoming and the instructor was a good communicator and I felt she picked exercises that were intentional and actually useful. I’ve been to many group classes where they seem to prioritize getting your heart rate up over using the correct form. I really appreciated that this wasn’t the case here, the instructor didn’t rush and still felt like I got a good workout in!

I had a great experience taking my first class at Roar. The studio is beautifully done. It is spacious and clean with thoughtful touches. The class was fun and challenging. I’ll definitely be back and encourage other women to give the gym a try! I hope to see it stick around Noe for a long time!

Had a great workout here. The facilities and equipment are super clean and new. It's rare to find group classes that focus purely on strength training. I would be ok training with men (and would actually like to invite my husband to a group class) so the all-women environment is not a priority for me. I would sign up for a membership or package if they were a bit less expensive, especially relative to other group class options.
