Rock Steady Boxing VCLA changed my life...I am not kidding. In May of 2024, when I joined, I could not stand longer than 5-10 minutes. Two months later, I could stand for the entire 75-minute class! But there's more...I gained strength, increased balance, stamina, and most of all I got my life back. Depression and isolation are real when one is diagnosed with Parkinson's. Now I no longer allow my feelings to influence the choices I make in my life. I ran/walked a 5K in June and it was awesome. If you're on the fence about starting your new life with Rock Steady VCLA, just do it. Everything else will work itself out. One last thing...the coaches care so much about each person's success in working to beat Parkinson's.

Yesterday was something special at @rsbvcla. My grandfather has been struggling with Parkinson’s, not just the symptoms, but the emotional toll, the anxiety, the isolation, the shame.
But in just one class, I saw him light up. He smiled, laughed, and connected with others who get it. It was the most alive I’ve seen him in a long time. Thank you Coach Lisa, Asst. coach AJ, and the whole team for creating a space that heals more than just the body. If you have a loved one facing Parkinson’s, please check out @rock_steady_boxing. It’s more than exercise, it’s community, and its hope.

I joined Rock Steady Boxing April 2023 and have been attending 3 times a week. I have seen tremendous increase in flexibility and strength. Because of my improved flexibility, I have become a much improved pickleball player. My Movement Disorder doctor at Cedar Sinai Hospital recommends Rock Steady Boxing and Pickleball to all his Parkinsons patience. I love participating in both exercises. Before boxing exercises, I used to have pain on my shoulder when I turned to my side while sleeping. Glad to say the pain went away for good. Bottom line, my Parkinsons has not advanced since I joined Rock Steady Boxing. All the coaches are fabulous. Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing to all Parkinsons patients.

I am visiting area and was welcomed with open arms. The coaches are super friendly and more important very knowledgeable on PD in all phases of the disease so they do their workouts that are beneficial to all participants no matter how advanced or newly diagnosed you are. BIG THING...you are having fun , having a laugh here and there during the whole workout. Highly recommend this chapter of rock steady.

After about three months attending Rock Steady Boxing, I am happy to report it addresses Parkinson's issues across the full spectrum. It has noticeably improved my abilities. And . . . it is loads of fun.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in August of 2020 and found that exercise, for me, is the most effective way of delaying the progression of the disease. At first, after my diagnosis, I tried developing my own exercise program, but struggled to maintain a consistent schedule and I was unconvinced it was helping my Parkinson’s symptoms. My son told me Rock Steady Boxing is an exercise program that targets Parkinson’s Disease and can slow the disease’s progression. I joined an RSB program near me in July 2021 and I haven’t looked back. Since then, I have seen improvements in my balance and my strength, two areas where I had been struggling. And Rock Steady Boxing is fun, both in terms of the exercises you do, especially the boxing, and the people you get to know. But the greatest asset to the Rock Steady Boxing program is the quality of the instructors. It is clear they put a great deal of thought into each class to maximize the benefits to the participants in delaying the progression of Parkinson’s Disease. Their knowledge of the use of exercise to delay the progression of Parkinson’s Disease is impressive. I highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing to anyone dealing with Parkinson’s Disease.

Rock Steady Boxing is an amazing program to help fight the progression of Parkinson’s. My husband, Russell, was diagnosed over 8 years ago. Walking, balance and standing up straight are his biggest challenges . The boxing has helped him immensely to get out of his wheelchair, use a walker and gallantly stand to punch the bag and mitts of the amazing, encouraging coaches. In addition to boxing, he learned stretching exercises and lots of jokes from Yvette!
There is a wonderful community atmosphere of boxers and caregivers cheering everyone on. Rock Steady is the best medicine to fight Parkinson’s Disease! They rock it! Lisa and Yvette and staff lead the way to a better life for all involved.

These classes help to keep me functioning on a high level. Although I take the classes on Zoom, I feel completely connected to the group. The coaches go out of their way to make sure each participant is observed and gets individual attention. When I hurt my knee and let the coaches know, they suggested modifications so that I could participate. I feel good every time I take a class and highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing VC/LA!

I take Zoom classes for Parkinson’s from a group of coaches at Rock Steady Boxing, VC/LA. My neurologist sent me. They make one key promise which is that doing this boxing will delay Parkinson’s symptoms and improve overall health. After two years my symptoms have not progressed (hurray!). Just as valuable, my overall strength and flexibility have vastly improved. Finally, the environment during the classes makes using an hour or so of my time a “can’t miss” experience.
