Root Fitness has completely changed how I approach strength training and Pilates. Thanks to Shannon, I’ve been able to strengthen my core and manage my back issues in a way I never thought possible. But it’s not just about the workout—Shannon brings an energy and vibe that makes this place feel like home. The people, the community, the culture—it’s all amazing.
Shannon and her team have become part of my daily ritual. I leave every session feeling stronger, more confident, and just overall better. What I love most is how intentional the workouts are—challenging but mindful, with a peaceful moment at the end to reset.
I’ve tried so many different strength training and Pilates classes, and nothing comes close to this. The small group setting means Shannon actually watches and corrects you (seriously, I think she has eyes in the back of her head). She makes sure you’re in the right form, which is a game-changer.
Root Fitness isn’t just a workout; it’s a place that makes me feel my best. I can’t imagine ever leaving because of what Shannon has built here!

Root Fitness has quickly become my favorite workout studio. I have been doing Pilates for years, but have never seen the full benefits of the workout until I started attending Shannon and Sarah’s classes. Their class is never the same which is great for someone like me who gets bored quickly. The workout is challenging, fun, and has restorative elements. The Root fitness studio is bright, airy, and has a fantastic vibe. The owner Shannon is warm and full of great energy. She truly makes Pilates transformative and fun!

What’s there not to love about Root Fitness?! Shannon is absolutely AMAZING in all respects. She is extremely knowledgeable about Pilates and fitness. The classes are challenging yet safe and each workout is unique. My persistent aches and pains are gone and my posture has greatly improved. You’ll feel like a renewed person - mind and body - after EVERY workout. First class instruction, high quality equipment … you won’t regret it!

Having just gotten back into working out from consistent injuries, Shannon has completely CHANGED my body. I feel (and look) strong - and I can tell I’m already less prone to injury. She focuses on your individual needs (even in a group setting), pushes you to the limit while keeping you safe, supported and allowing options to revert back to if it gets too much. Can’t recommend root fitness enough. Go to Shannon if you want a strong lean body and a six pack!

I absolutely LOVE this studio…Shannon and all her instructors are wonderful. I’ve tried virtually every pilates studio in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa and Root Fitness is the best!!
I’ve been working out with Shannon for over 8 years. She always keeps the workouts fun and interesting – and she really is an expert in every aspect of Pilates. The hour long sessions are a perfect start to the day and help keep my mind and body healthy and feeling good. 10/10
