I was a first time student on October 11th. I want to write this review to reach management. I thought the class and coach Sara were wonderful and besides this one terrible experience at the Santa Monica location, everything else was great. Sadly, the front of house person that day ruined my experience. I was a new student trying to figure out the gym and this staff person was extraordinarily unhelpful, and close to verbally abusive. I was mystified by the treatment. Until that person no longer works at the gym, I unfortunately will not be going back and can not recommend the gym to anyone.

I have been a Rowhouse member for over 3 years and love this gym in general. I have had nothing but awesome experiences here in terms of both working out and the community of friends and coach friends I’ve built. So 5 stars, in general.
In terms of coaches, Sara and Maggie are top notch. These wild ladies will push you to the limit and encourage you to keep going when you need it most and make you feel so powerful and strong both physically and emotionally.
I just finished a Saturday class that Sara coached and I am exhausted in the best way. She coached “full row“ the way it SHOULD be coached. Non-stop, crazy INTENSE workout. I feel like not a minute was wasted and I got everything out of today that I possibly could have. I’m leaving the gym feeling SO strong. Absolutely looooove!

My first Row House class, wow, thanks Piper... great job, I can row across a lake now, see you again. 24th, will check on on the progress every month on the 24th, my measure for when I start a new practice, or one I stopped practicing years ago, why? Great encouragement thanks Row House.
Well it's with sadness that the row house refuses to take my payments from my insurance debit card. They are just about money. If you don't cancel you can't quite without paying them $150. To quite. I'm traveling over the summer. But they way they treated me as if it was a favor to pay them for not taking classes for a month. Or that they can't do what's good for their customers. I would come back in the fall but no thanks will find a gym or row machine at another facility... the instructors are great. Management of accounts and policy... lacking.

updating my review: I have loved Sara as the RH manager and excited to see she is now coaching too! I just went to her Hamilton themes class. So fun! So hard, but in the best way! Left feeling so good (and I am not even a fan of musicals, but great stories and tips shared). Thanks, Sara! Shout out to Maya too who consistently rocks it.
I love my mornings with Colman and Jenny and my afternoons with Piper. They all leave me feeling so strong and inspired. I was never one for going to gyms or workout classes but when Row House opened on the way to work I thought why not and am so happy I did. There is a great variety of classes and the instructors are fun so the time flies by. Row House is such a welcoming and friendly place too!

Maggie is a great leader/ instructor who remembers names gives individual attention, and encourages you with "screaming-spirit". Honestly. She gets you going, but not in an overstressed way. She makes you laugh, too. (Why not?!) In addition, she'll give you private attention about your row-form and all after class if you have some minutes to spare. Rowing isn't just pushing and pulling; it's an art in itself, while strengthening. Hop to it! Real water around us rowers would make the experience sensational...imagine it for now :). RowHouse is a way to get strong for some eventual water-works? Or whatever else. When you go to Row House to try out a session, ask for Maggie as your go-to "coach"! Enjoy!

Elijah is energetic and "holistic" in that he explains step by step regarding form...and gradually leads you to high-energy rowing. And makes sure there is "recovery" rowing or other brief down time before you pick up again.
The exercises he gives at break time are fun, inclusive of deep stretching after the hard work. And I think very appropriate are the couple of deep stretches after the session.
Also he sort of has a sense of humor and dances around, coming to you to give "corrections" and suggestions.
I felt great after today's class. Both Maggie and Elijah are favorite coaches! Check out Elijah...! he's a brilliant addition to this fun Row House.
Now. while getting row-strong, let's get some water on that floor (or at least a "splashing water" strobe light) while we energetically mozey on through! LOL -

Just took my first class at Row House with Elijah and it was an awesome experience! He was super friendly, brought great energy to the room, and made the class feel really welcoming. The music was fun and motivating, and I really appreciated how he took the time to help me with my form. The class itself was definitely challenging, but in the best way. Before signing up to work with Maya, I had struggled with my weight for a very long time. I had been on Prednisone for 2 years in High School and developed habits around over-indulging in food. I had tremendous success losing weight on a low-carb diet, but eventually my hormones and body started to rebel, and it wasn’t working for me anymore. I had the misconception that the only way to lose weight was to cut out carbs, and that left me depressed and avoiding all social functions and opportunities to meet friends.
Working with Maya has been life changing for me. This nutrition program uses the plate method, which is different than cutting out entire food groups and feels a lot more balanced than other programs I’ve tried. Maya is incredibly compassionate and non-judgmental, which is a huge change from other people I’ve worked with in the past. Other nutrition coaches may shame you for making mistakes, which can lead to feeling worse about things you already feel bad about (and backfire). Maya is gifted at pointing out your successes (even when you yourself don’t notice them).
I realized that this nutrition program was working for me when I started going out more to social events, without having fear that I wouldn’t be able to control myself around food. I no longer view entire food groups as “evil” and my overall mood is much better.
Maya’s support and enthusiasm during this process keeps me motivated to make changes to my life that had been hard-wired into me from a young age. The app that is included with the program is a great way to connect with Maya and stay accountable.
I would strongly encourage anyone to join this nutrition program. You will be amazed how much it will change so many aspects of your life (not just weight loss)!

I love this place. Great low impact, full body workouts. My favorite class is the Signature class, which blends rowing with floor/core/strength exercises. I love all the coaches though I have my favorite (Maggie). Love her energy, atmosphere, positivity, and how much stronger I feel after each class.

I needed to get a workout in after staying indoors ready to evacuate during the fires. it was nice that RowHouse was open so I could squeeze in a quick workout. I took the 45 minute Signature Row with Jenny Savage. Jenny’s enthusiasm and expertise as a rower and personal trainer got us energized and ready to go in a 8:15AM class. This class mixed rowing with 2 breaks in between with a weight workout. Today’s focus was on legs. By the end of her class I was ready to face work and anything the wildfire situation was throwing at us. I highly recommend Jenny and RowHouse to my friends and family.

I’ve been loving the Row House. They’re very positive and upbeat, and I’m getting into great shape. I’ve lost 20 pounds. If you have any sore parts of your body, like knees or back, this will help. It’s low impact, and I have zero problems with my back or knees in these classes. I highly recommend trying a class to see if it’s a good fit. I love it.

The Studio is spotless, the equipment is modern and well-maintained and *regularly sanitized. Public parking is readily available and safe. The front desk team is consistently helpful and encouraging.
ROW HOUSE delivers an amazing sense of COMMUNITY without the TOXIC CLIQUES!!!!!
The combination of guided cardio, strength and stretching has contributed to my transformation; particularly after healing from major surgery.

It was a good experience overall. Julia was a fantastic coach. Highly recommend. I tried ClassPass at the beginning of the year and tested a few different places, but Row House is what stuck. Going to class weekly this year has felt like going out for a fun night of dancing. I’ve walked away feeling strong and rejuvenated every time. I just moved, so I’ll be going to a different Row House now, but I didn’t want to leave without saying how much I appreciate Maggie and Maya- their playlists and enthusiasm can turn around anyone’s day. I tried the morning class via ClassPass and there were only 3 people total in the class (including myself), so the atmosphere was pretty dead. Went a 2nd time to try it again but there was a glitch with my ClassPass reservation, so they refused to let me join the class despite there being plenty of room and I was offering to book a different class time so they can still collect the points. I woke up at 5am for nothing so it left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't bother arguing with them and just went back home. Don't think I'll try it out a third time.

3+ years in and I still love the high-energy social dynamic of this full-body workout! All I need to do is drag myself into the class and participate and the intensity just happens - I burn almost double the calories per hour than I would just rowing by myself! The instructors (Maya H and Piper N) are very positive and just generally wonderful people. Obviously, I love this place.

Their inflexible cancellation policy has left a bad taste in my mouth. It is insane how these companies get away with forcing customers into an extra month of membership when they don't want it. It is so short sighted too! Many Row Houses have closed, and I can see why. We would have been back in a few months! We would have used this place for the next five years or more! Instead we will be switching to iRow Fitness. I am so sad for this company that they chose to squeeze one more month out of us now instead of having happy customers (on and off--we travel a lot) for many years. What a dumb, customer-alienating policy to be so devoted to.

I’ve been going to Row House Santa Monica for almost a year and it has been a great experience for me. It a most efficient workout because it is muscle strengthening AND cardiovascular strengthening while protecting your knees, back, etc. The coaches are pros. Did the 7 day trial and was hooked by day 4. Really great work out that's basically as hard has you want to push yourself. Manageable class lengths. All the coaches are great -- everyone at this location is very nice in general. Maya is one of my favs -- she is just the right amount of push and motivation and has a very sweet and strong energy. Maggie is new and also awesome -- she has a very genuine energy and will really cheerlead you to the finish.

I came to Row House to increase my aerobic capacity (and also get a general workout in that was easy on my joints) as I was having lung surgery. They encouraged every step of the way. They even called me to see how I was doing after my surgery. I am several months post surgery and they are still encouraging me and I am still loving my row classes. I truly feel like my crew is my family….. oh and I am getting more tone!

A fun and rejuvenating experience with Nathan today. His directions were easy to follow and flows smoothly with the right combination in addition to really good music. As my first time taking his class, I easily felt at ease from the moment I entered until the end. Staff were very attentive and assisted throughout the program. I highly recommend if you are looking to start a fitness routine. I look forward to my next session with Nathan as well as trying out new classes

I always have a great time at Row House! My main instructor, Piper, is fun, funny and incredibly supportive. Being new to Row House, I needed instruction. She has been very helpful and her great sense of rhythm keeps me on pace. The facility is clean and parking is easy to find on adjacent streets. I highly recommend!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! The Row House staff, environment and classes are out of this world fantastic. No matter the coach, I get the best workout in; each coach pushes me to be better than I was the day before. The front desk staff are the sweetest people, and they are so welcoming. Rowing has become my favorite workout, and I love that it’s low impact. Thanks for all y’all do ♥️

SCAM…. Be aware .
I signed up for a month worth of classes to try it out and make sure that I like rowing . Unfortunately I got sick and was no longer able to attend .
Later I found out they had automatically enrolled me to monthly membership without my knowledge and have been charging my credit card for the last 5 months without my knowledge. Unfortunately this is another SCAM MEMBERSHIP ENTITY .
Please watch your credit card statement to make sure they are not doing this to you .
Do Not give them your credit card number .
Really disappointed and sad that they do this kinda business in my neighborhood.

With so many fitness options to choose from, Row House has everything I need. An individual cardio & strength training workout while still feeling like I’m a part of a team. All the instructors there are great, particularly Maya, Julia, and Jackson. Everyone is friendly and motivating. The facility is clean with good air circulation. The machines are kept in good condition.
It’s also a great place for beginners.

I've taken a couple of Maya's interval classes and they're great for all levels (I did a couple well into my third trimester of pregnancy). The interval class splits up rowing and weights so the time goes by quickly. Plus there's great music and the lights are low so you don't feel judged.

I used to row crew in high school, but it has been a long time since then, so I was a bit nervous to see how I performed at this class. It became very clear that I had nothing to worry about and I was in great hands. Adam at the front desk was very welcoming and helped me fill out all my first timer paperwork. From there the trainer Julia took me into the room with the erg machines to give me a 1-on-1 demonstration and walk me through my form.
Julia hosted an incredible class, I loved her music choices and the way she paced everything and kept us all motivated! Highly recommend Row House and taking a class with Julia!

I joined Row House Santa Monica for about a month and unfortunately had an accident at my private practice and wasn’t able to continue to use my membership. Sara, the manager insist, I needed a doctor’s note to have my membership canceled, Sara, then stated if I didn’t have a doctor’s note she would bill me the following month. I contacted my attorney and my attorney sent a letter and stated I was protected by HIPPA , and my medical privacy is protected therefore I would not be submitting a doctor’s note. Sara, then stated she would credit my account until I was physically ready to come back, I stated to Sara , I wasn’t coming back . I felt Sara was angry that I was canceling my membership and she was given me the proverbial runaround. It’s a shame this company didn’t act in good faith and their motto is about profits over people! It’s illegal for Row House SM to ask for a doctor’s note, it’s in their contract and Row House clear across the board need to rewrite their contract!! Buyers be aware! Its a shame, I needed to have my attorney write a letter in my behalf to SM Row House to cancel my membership!

I can’t say enough nice things about my class with Julia! She was so fun and encouraging! Her little motivation dances during the sprints were adorable and made me work so hard! She not only gave excellent form cues, but she also went the extra mile to observe each of our forms and make adjustments to them. I feel like I learned so much in her class! I tried Row House the first time with my friend this week. It has been such a fun experience! My friend calls it a clubbing atmosphere with row machines 😂. The work out is great. The instructors are awesome! They really take the time to help you figure out what to do, they keep you on beat, and are super encouraging and fun.
Nate has the best floor/strength work! I like how he isolates one area for a period of time rather than rush to the next movement.
