Ryan Z is the man. After two years of working out at home, I decided to get back into the gym, but I wanted to get some 1:1 training on some of the Olympic lifts that I wasn’t as familiar with. Also, I have a history of sports-related injuries, so I just wanted ensure my form was looking good. I signed up for four sessions with Ryan and they were awesome. He took the time to understand my background, my injury history, and my goals, and all of our sessions were very focused and I saw visible improvement from session to session. Additionally, he has a great understanding of physiology, so he was able to train me on the right stretches that I needed to do to open up my tight shoulders. Finally, he’s just a good dude to chat with as well, making each session fly by. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I recommend Ryan for a number of reasons, but mainly because he’s thoughtful and highly skilled. It’s rare to find a trainer/coach with a strong balance of knowledge and compassion- Ryan excels at both!

Ryan was a really great trainer. I’m not the easiest person to motivate, but he always managed to keep me going. If you’re looking for a great trainer with all the knowledge you could want who motivates you without all the shouting, Ryan is the a perfect choice.

I have worked with Ryan for three years, and at the beginning I barely knew what a barbell was, and had my sport training derailed with nagging overuse injuries. After helping me rehab, he patiently and diligently taught me the Olympic lifts and many other strength movements and variations that I use to this day in my training. Beyond just helping me have a solid technical foundation for my lifts, Ryan also helped instill in me confidence in my ability to surpass my perceived limits by guiding me through PR after PR.
Finally, he wants his clients to be self sufficient which shows he truly is a selfless trainer wishing to endow his clients with the skills to better themselves.

Ryan is a freaking AMAZING trainer. He's knowledgable about exercise, but a lot of trainers are - what's different about Ryan is that he WILL motivate you to work your hardest because he wants you to be the best version of yourself - not just tell you what to do, but actually encourage you to do it. He's not just an instructor, not just a coach - he is right there with you, he listens, he caters to what you want and need, and cares about your fitness goals like if they were his own. I started classes with him unable to do a single chinup. I thought I could never...but he's gotten me through the hard work - not just physically, but mentally. Whether exercise is fun or not for you, a habit or not, Ryan makes the experience awesome and pushes you to work to your full potential. Thank you Ryan!
