THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! 🤩 I started bringing my daughter when she was 2 and she is now almost 4. My other 2 year old daughter is also enrolled now! Most of the coaches we had experience with are nothing short of amazing! They are all so great with kids. Very patient and kind with them but also knowledgeable in skills and teaching the kids. Best coaches are Coach Ty, Coach Kiana and Coach Albert! They all are so amazing, fun and energetic. My daughter talks about all of them she loves them so much. Both of my girls look forward to gymnastics all the time and talk about it. That’s how I know this is a good program. I think having the best coaches makes this place stand out. The facilities and staff at San Diego Gymnastics – Otay Ranch are outstanding. I recently enrolled my three boys, and they’re absolutely loving it. My daughter loves San Diego Gymnastics at Otay Ranch. There’s plenty of space and lots of equipment for the kids to learn new skills. The staff is always friendly and helpful, particularly Ty. I also appreciate that the staff is diligent about keeping the spaces neat and I frequently see them sanitizing. There are a variety of class types and times, and there are enough levels for my daughter to progress to. Bonus points for regular kids night out, and being a friend for free week.

I visited today to inquire about a class, and while one staff member greeted me, they seemed preoccupied with supervising the children in the gym. Unfortunately, the front desk was unattended, and I couldn’t find anyone to ask about their services or classes. I visited twice, but no one approached me to offer assistance. If they show this level of disregard for a potential new customer, I wouldn't feel comfortable entrusting them with my child.

When you enroll your kids in a gymnastics class, you expect a professional instructor to provide quality coaching and make your investment worthwhile. Unfortunately, this place employs an unprofessional coach who bullies the children, causing them to leave in tears due to the coach's irresponsible and mocking behavior.

One of the biggest disappointments I’ve had. Where should I start? They are like a joke, with horrible communication and organization skills. My daughter has been attending for two months, and during this time, I observed numerous issues that highlight the management’s lack of attention and skills.

First, the coaches prefer to chat among themselves instead of focusing on the kids and their classes. Some of them lack the experience to keep young children engaged. I purchased a private lesson package, and the experience was extremely frustrating. They are terrible at scheduling classes and do not communicate with each other. Initially, they scheduled two classes and didn’t inform me that I had to come in weekly to schedule the private lessons. On the third week, they acted like they had no idea about the class. Miscommunication happens, but it got worse.

On the day of a scheduled class, they told me my daughter wasn’t on the schedule, despite my having it on my calendar. Another time, the coach called out, and they assigned a random coach, claiming the regular coach was stuck in traffic and would be late. Thirty minutes later, the coach still hadn’t arrived, and I was told she had car problems.

I also made the mistake of signing her up for their summer camp. When I observed the camp, it looked like a poorly organized daycare, not a gymnastics camp. When I expressed my concerns, the CEO dismissed them and acted like nothing was wrong. When I pointed out that their snacks were just overpriced, low-quality crackers, the response was, “You are welcome to bring your own snacks.”

The lack of management is evident from the top down. To top it off, my daughter came back from a kids’ night out with a swollen, purple lip, and no one informed me until 3-4 days later.

You’ve heard my experience; decide for yourself if you want to waste your money or find somewhere more organized.

I have my 4-year-old great granddaughter participating in gymnastics. She has a lot of energy and I thought this would be a good way to direct that energy in a positive way. The coach is there are outstanding. Coach Dion, which is her coach, is young but so knowledgeable in dealing with young children. She's very patient and gives every child in that group their time with her on each specific apparatus. Every time I had an personal inquirement, the staff went out of their way to see what they could do to assist. It's a great place for kids to engage with other kids, a place to release energy in a positive way and a place that I would highly recommend. They also have a zillion other activities going on from spring Bay camp to Easter egg hunts. You name it, they got it!

Yesterday, a situation arose where our granddaughter initially resisted participating in her gymnastics class. However, we witnessed firsthand the extraordinary efforts made by the coaching staff and management to engage with her.

Coach Dion, a remarkably talented and compassionate coach at just 15 years old, dedicated several minutes to her encouragement. Another coach followed suit, and finally, the manager stepped in with an innovative approach involving a lollipop, engaging the child's imagination.

To our astonishment, within moments, our granddaughter's reluctance vanished, and she wholeheartedly immersed herself in the class activities. This unwavering support and determination extended beyond this isolated incident, contributing to our granddaughter's flourishing growth in both gymnastics and confidence.

We attended a few classes with them last year. My daughter never felt comfortable there. There was no efforts put by any of the instructors to make her comfortable at all. When I went in to help I was asked to leave and was told it is not a mommy and me class. The instructor was teaching toddlers but never had a smile on her face or showed any excitement while talking to them. The kids in the class did not enjoy what they were doing at all. The manager was extremely extremely rude all the time.
I am glad we left without even finishing a month.

Staff at Otay: whoever Mary is that works Friday is the rudest person I've ever dealt with in my life! She's abrasive, lacks compassion, and needs a major lesson in customer service. Every question I asked, her response was "that's policy, I don't know what to tell you." She should be fired!

I am really disappointed with this gymnastics program. My daughter is more of a number than an actual student.

In the past 6 months there have been so many coach changes that I can’t keep track. The teacher to student ratio is not ideal and my daughter spends most of the class talking to other students or waiting for instruction.

I am paying for her to learn gymnastics and not socialize. Also this place is so packed with people sometimes there is no seating. After a long day of work the last thing I want to do is stand and watch my daughter hang out.

This place is not a good fit for my daughter. Which is disappointing because it is so convenient to our house and it started off so promising.

My daughter has been here for two years now and loves it. She has so much fun, has learned a lot in her classes and likes all her instructors. She is now in the Level 2 class on Mondays with Coach Amy, and she always leaves the gym with a big smile and positive words. I have a happy kid because of SD Gymnastics! I've been to several gyms with my children when they were younger and never had a problem with any of there coaches all very experienced and patient, however this is not the case in this facility. I found it very unorganized and some of the coaches were unorganized and had communication issues with the children and adults. The director herself is very unprofessional and lacks communication and child development

Enrolled our granddaughter in the summer camp thinking she would get a introduction into gymnastics. It's basically a baby sitting service. They color, play, free time but no gymnastics instructions. Today the last day of camp my granddaughter chose to skip camp and go to Santee Lakes to have fun. Her reason for not going, I just do what I do on my trampoline at home. Sad, we were hoping to continue on after she liked it. (Other parents say the same and that the coaches do not teach the camps.)

So, this is merely based on recent/summer experiences. We pay quite a bit of $$$ for gymnastics. We understand that the rent at the Otay Ranch Mall is expensive, and that the days that are considered “extremely hot,” in SD are far and in between. With that being said, in the last 2 weeks there’s been a minimum of 5/7 days with temps above 90 outside and tell me why the A/C here is at 86?! Our kids are hot (not accustomed to this heat). I have a problem with how much we’re paying for 1 practice a week and there’s over 10/12 per class/session you’d think they could keep the a/c at minimum 78/80 degrees. We (a. Friend and I pulled out girls i with 15 minutes left) due to the heat. Just wish they’d take that into consideration.

My little guy enjoyed his first day of gym ninja. Zoe is really good with kids! He had so much fun and that definitely put a smile on my face!

The only thing I disliked was most of the kids were wearing mask it’s unfortunate because they are all hard at play and shouldn’t be accustomed to wearing mask during physical activities!
