Coaches from SDR can help any girl who wants stay in RG journey! My girl is the exact example. My girl started RG in Irvine in 2022 Sep. And stay in Level 3 for two years. In the late second year(March 2024) of Level 3, her first competition was Rising Star held in SD, she got bottom place. 2024 Summer vocation, I took her to Pasadena and SDR for summer camp and trail class. When my daughter first met the coach and professional girls at same level in SDR even out of her imagination, she requested me to send her here right away. We joined SDR on 10/1/2024, the new season had stated for a couple of month. What suprised me, her competition results beyond all same level girls with her before. In the end of the season, she got 11th place in State and 14th in National! Less than one year ago, she was in the bottom in all SoCal area!! As a parent, you will touch my feeling how lucky I feel that I brively made the choice moving home to SD for SDR. And coaches from Pasadena, who know my girl from 2024 Summer camp came to our SDR coach in National competition to praised our coaches have the magic power to change a girl totally. Besides, parents, don't treat self, we must admit not all girls can reach the top, since girls are on the way to explore their potential with life time friendship in the team since childwood, their life benefits far more than just an college entrance ticket.

This long-overdue feedback comes from a grateful parent whose 6-year-old daughter has been with San Diego Rhythms since February 2024. From the very beginning, we have found it to be a tremendous value for money, but more importantly, a tremendous value for the heart and character.
The coaches, including the owner Sofia and Lina, are exceptional. They pour their hearts and extensive knowledge into every session. Their goal is not just to teach gymnastic skills, but to instill vital life skills like determination, perseverance, respect, and hard work. They take their role seriously, aiming to help children become self-sufficient human beings who know how to "withstand falls" in every sense of the word.
As a sensitive person myself, I can truly feel Sofia's genuine love for the little ones. She creates an environment that is both challenging and incredibly supportive. San Diego Rhythms has become a second home for us, a place where my daughter is encouraged to grow with confidence. We look forward to continuing our journey here for years to come.

My daughter has been in SDR couple of years. The coaches here are very professional. My daughter has improved a lot under the scientific instructions. Not only about rhythmic gymnastics, girls also learned how to overcome difficulties, analyze problems and make themselves stronger.

I highly recommend San Diego Rhythms for anyone that is interested in rhythmic gymnastics. My daughter started in beginner class outdoor during the pandemic. She is now in 2nd year with the competitive team. She never had any experience in any sports, dance or gymnastics prior to taking the class.
Coaches - SDR has extremely passionate and dedicated coaches. If your girl is willing to put in the work, they will help your daughter become the best gymnast that she can be. The coaches have high standards from appearance, punctuality to work ethics. I have texted her coach at night and received constructive criticism, which helped her to practice efficiently. This shows her coach's dedication.
Gymnasts - my daughter has made some of her best friends from SDR. They support each other and genuinely wish everyone to do well.
Parents - parents have helped each other out numerous times. Everyone is so supportive of each other.
Last thing to add is the coaches are very honest, they will not put your child in a competition unless they feel that she's ready. The coaches will tell me what my daughter needs to work on and will not sugar coat it. I am the type of parents that want the honest truth. This club definitely helps my daughter build grid.

Awesome and competitive rhythmic gymnastic academy with great coaches and achievements! My daughter loves rhythmic gymnastics and is almost always happy to go to practices and competitions (sometimes nervous when she’s not feeling well). She has lots of fun with the girls from all the levels and is builing lots of fun memories. She is also becoming better gymnasts with great supports from the great coaches! She is proud to be part of the group and cheers for all the girls during practices and competitions.
There were of course times when she (and even my wife and I as parents) got frustrated and stressed due to various reasons but impressively, my daughter quickly overcame them and focused on RG again with or without the suports from us and/or coaches. I believe this helps my daughter to be stronger and more confident, something I would wish my daughter to learn from playing any sports.
As parents, none of my family was in competitve sports so it wasn’t so easy to get used to with whole new gymnastics world. But by seeing my daughter being so happy, competitive and confident gymnast with nice achievements and great supports from the coaches, I’m happy to support and cheer my daughter and coaches.

Update:Being abused from this owner ridiculously. I never met a person as evil as her. Glad we left this club just like many parents did. The owner is so mean and what a hypocrite!Your reply is lying and misleading, can you swear in your family’s name that you are telling the truth?
Here’s my original post. Be sure to check the other 1star review with more details why she’s lying in the reply of this post.
I would give this club 0 star if I could. Be prepared to endure tons of mental pressure as parents from the owner if you come here. The owner is crazy about money and fight back with all reasonable requests from parents. For private lessons, they charge almost twice the price compared to other clubs. During the private class, she will say:" I know you're tired. I'm tired too"---excuse me, we paid for it, right? Then she will talk to others for 15mins, verbally play down your child for 15mins, then let you child leave early 15mins. She teaches 15 mins and charged for 1 hour $110, with a mentally hurt kid. She also has 0 tolerance for students who try classes in other clubs, no matter you have moving plan or new job offers that hard to accommodate parents' pick up/drop schedule . When you explain to her, she doesn't care and say you're lying, which is so rude. They keep saying their competition results are the best but they are not, plus considering they require even 5 years old take at lease 2 privates mostly 4 privates monthly for competitions. I feel my daughter is under pressure and wants her just do the group team 3 training, she threatened me if we are not taking privates, she's not going to allow her for any competitions. We took privates but she's not teaching seriously and keep abusing her verbally. She's only 5 and she's just sitting their verbally teach her, how could she understand that ---Their young kids team have good results in competitions. In other clubs, it's not mandatory.

My daughter came to SD Rhythms after being bullied in another gymnastics club so I was a bit nervous at first, but she has made lots of friends and absolutely loves the coaches. She has very high regard for the owner of the club, and I am always impressed in how the owner l, Sofia has a bond with every single athlete. It did take some adjustments for my daughter in coming in, there are higher expectations here, she struggles with the aspect of staying focused for an entire practice, and though the levels team ended up not being the right fit for her, she found her place in the Exl group and it has been a good balance for her love of gymnastics and having it be super fun for her. Thank you to all the coaches that help are daughters grow in displine, athleticism and everything else they learn along the way!

I'm a father who is not treated fairly the owner mentioned in the previously review. You use the word "beg"? Could you post how we "beg" you, and how you against it please? We're just asking does my daughter can join the team after the summer break and a few months little star practice. You arranged a try out and we did it. You said you could take her, we got your permission. (Do we need to post it in social Media? You are abusing our family) In fact you accept many kids even without "try out" to team. You encourage as many kids to team as long as they can take 2 hour class. You want us post all the chat history in the social Media? Stop abusing my wife. Be a person who is respectful. You encourage us to take privates talking that my daughter is doing great, she's winning competitions. You are recommending 3 girls to Las Vegas in competitions, including my daughter. We keep stating that we are not expecting she to win competitions, we just want her to enjoy it. We doesn't want her in Little Star beginner class because you are teaching repeating things and that's just waste us time and money (you say the same thing in an email to encourage parents to consider kids to join teams, I can post it if you continue to argue). We were downgrade only because we tried other clubs classes, and apparently we are not the only kid being kick out or downgrade for this reason. I do not want to post their names but a lot of parents in this club know this.
You said to my wife" You can go to Champion Club, you did a trail class last night there right? They are not as difficult as us. " She explained our daughter is transferring to a new school in the south side of SD. You said rudely to her" You are lying, I don't want to hear it" ----DIDN'T YOU?----That's the reason why she's angry, not because you are just telling her to put our daughter in beginner class. BE HONEST. (BTW we did transferred my daughter to a new school and I changed my job, my wife is NOT lying)
We are telling everybody the truth. You charge $110 and other clubs charge $70-$80 per class. You claim you are non-profit organization, do you really know what does this mean?...not only by asking parents to do donations, ok? I was warned by an art lab parents a lot of things you did to the kids. We choose not to believe them until this moment. We do not want to expose more but you did too much.
Respect other clubs, when we go trail class there, they never say bad words against your club. You keep saying your other club bad words, that's not what we want our kids to learn as a good person.
To Yuliia, we are leaving comments fairly from our own experience. The coach is not treated every parents the same, which you may don't know. She even charge some parents who is not speaking English well $115 per private lesson. It depends on her mood and if the parents is easy going from her judgement. :)
We are more disappointed than angry not for the reason for she could not go to competitions. As parents we are sad to see my daughter did so much efforts and time on her training and lost the chance to experience the competition once. It could be a very precious experience in her life. If I didn't bring her to champion trail class, this could have not happen. I didn't expect the coach did this to her--we heard of it, didn't believe it, until it happened to us.
We extremely respect all teachers and coaches in our entire life for our families. This is the only bad review for coaches and we hope this is the only one in the future.

We love this school very much. There are talented professional coaches, and a big friendly family.
For parents who leave bad comments: we all love our children and believe that they are the best and most talented, but the coach knows better when the child is ready for the competition (physically and emotionally). SDR is a club that trains PROFESSIONAL gymnasts and if you want your child to take 1, 2, 3 places, then your child needs to work very hard, and you, as parents, support him and communicate with the coach. Of course, you have to pay money for it. The coach's job is not only to conduct a training session, but also to think about what children will do every day at these trainings. In individual practice, the coach should consider a separate training for each child so that the child can understand and work out those elements that he does not. If you are not focused on professional sports, then do not write that you and your child are required a lot. This is a very hard sport, only those who have worked very hard become champions.

My daughter went to different gymnastics school and this one is absolutely her favorite, and she loves going there. This is a place where she made friends, build sportsmanship, discipline, and character. The school is one of the best competitively thanks to the fantastic coaches who work really hard.

Outstanding Rhythmic Gymnastic Club!
The coaches are nothing short of amazing. Their dedication, expertise, and passion for RG are evident in every training session. They are not only skilled instructors but also fantastic mentors who nurture the potential in each gymnast.
The training program is well-structured and tailored to cater to gymnasts of all levels, from beginners to advanced athletes. My daughter came all the way from a novice to a member of SDR competition team.
The variety and quality of activities offered at summer camp had truly exceeded my expectations, girls even learnt sewing leotards as well as skill-building exercise, flexibility training, and artistic expressions etc.
Girls in the team are friends who support each other in and out of the carpet.
So lucky to be a member of SDR family.❤️

My child trained and competed with San Diego Rhythms for six years. Coaches are fantastic! They did amazing things in gymnastics, and my kiddo then went on to accomplish great things in the competitive dance world, including winning many National titles, scholarships, and getting accepted into multiple top-ranked universities as a Dance Major. The training at SDR was exceptional, and Ms. Sofia was like a second mom to my child. She will always remain a very loved and important part of our lives.
