I absolutely love this gym. I was a little intimidated at first since I’m not used to fitness classes, but I’ve completely fallen in love with the structure. In just one hour, we keep things moving, target specific areas with intention, and somehow manage to keep up while rotating through the stations.It strikes the perfect balance: structured enough to make the most of your time, but flexible enough to allow you to progress at your own pace. And the coaches? Always a delight, intentional, and motivating. Highly recommend!

I was first told there is no Olympic weightlifting classes. Then I was contacted saying there is and scheduled for a free Sunday today intro session. When I showed up it was a lot of people in a small area doing random exercises similar to HIIT. Shoulders to shoulders around the distance of 4/5 of a person apart. Jump boxes lined up 1/3 the box’s width apart. There is no warmup and you go straight into whatever station. The space was extremely uncomfortable. The front desk was unpleasant to talk to, and suggested whether the workout is too much for me. People who workout there are mostly not in shape and fall into the overweight and obese category. I don’t understand why anyone would enjoy working out in a space where you can easily bump into each others, and inhale the breath from others

This has been my go to gym since 2021. The staff is amazing, both front of the house and trainers. I tend to go to AM classes, so I love Sharon (who also happens to be my sister and the best…no bias haha), Steph, Ella, and Dawn. They recently made upgrades to the aesthetics and the equipment. Best part is, everyone feels like family, which makes the workouts more fun.

Sanctuary Fitness is the perfect workout studio for athletes of all levels, including those just starting out and those who have been involved in fitness for years. The workouts change daily, and are unique and challenging. No matter what mood you're in going into the studio, you'll quickly be energized by the staff, instructor, music and group. My favorite gym that I've been a part of for over a year in Pasadena! Each day is a new challenge working out a different body part and pushing yourself each time to be stronger. Each class ends with a "Sanctuary moment" where the trainer sends a message of positive affirmations while you wind down. All trainers are fun, professional and will motivate you to do your very best. Front staff are welcoming and friendly each time you come in. Best part is the community! You will meet fellow members that have similar fitness journeys without judgement and encouraging you to never give up. Highly recommend you try it out and sweat with us!

I started going to Sanctuary at the beginning of 2024 and this is probably the most regularly I've worked out in a while! I've been working out on and off for the past few years, but Sanctuary makes it easy to work out regularly. Each day is something different; all you need to do is show up and work. I love how varied the classes are! The trainers also walk around and fix your form. You'll definitely walk out with a good sweat every time. The front desk staff are also so sweet and accommodating! Also, love how positive the Sanctuary community is too!

Really great workout studio in a very central location in OT Pasadena. The instructors are a lot of fun to work out with and the community is awesome! Equipments are regularly restocked. Overall studio is very clean with lockers and shower. Parking is $1 in the parking lot next door or you can do street parking for free before 11am. Every day is truly a different workout so it’s never boring going to Sanctuary Fitness!

This is my second month as a member of Sanctuary, but I really appreciate the community-oriented vibe of the gym. I trust the trainers to correct my form if it needs adjusting, which is important as a nervous newbie lifting weights lol, and they do so in a supportive, encouraging way. They push you to keep going and go harder, but also aren't drilling you if you need to rest for a rep or two. I've really enjoyed Sanctuary so far and would encourage anyone who is interested in a dynamic, ever-changing workout to give it a try!

My fav workout! The most consistent gym I've been able to keep up with.
The scheduling works really well with my personal schedule and I like that it's the same throughout the week. Staff is super friendly and helpful, the coaches are encouraging and play excellent music, and most of all the community inspires me to want to be stronger. I enjoy the little member perks like: bringing guests for free every month and special health & wellness events.
Huge plus are the showers and towel service which really help for a pre-work workout! So nice to not have to lug towels and products to the gym! There's also an InBody machine which gives you stats like weight and body fat percentage.

I've been coming to Sanctuary Pasadena since they opened in 2019. The staff here are super nice and helpful. The trainers here are very welcoming and really make an attempt to know everyone, while making the workouts both challenging and fun. The workout schedule here focuses on different body parts each day of the week and rotate between strength, power and endurance months.
I've been to the Ktown, Arts District and Ktown locations but Pasadena definitely has the best studio, trainers, staff and community!

I've been going to Sanctuary Fitness for over a year and a half and I love it! This is the first time that I haven't gotten bored of a workout at the 4-6mo mark. Spin class, reformer pilates, yoga, all of it - bored after a few months and totally abandoned.
Sanctuary Fitness keeps me engaged, motivated, and interested. The workouts are always different and always challenging. The formats change, the music changes, the equipment changes - all of these differences keep it interesting and fresh! As someone who was only doing cardio, I wanted to switch to a workout that incorporated strength training for my bone health. In my 40s, I recognize how important strength and mobility will be as I continue to age. Sanctuary Fitness checks all of the boxes for me.
Cherry on top for me are the people! Sanctuary Fitness has the best coaches and the community is beyond amazing. The people are simply good people. Successful, kind, motivational. I was passing through Pasadena two years ago and decided to do a drop-in class. Ever since, they have been calling and texting me non-stop to try to get me to sign up for a membership. I have called and texted back several times explaining that I live in Texas, and to please remove me from their call/text list. I’m at the point now where I am blocking whatever number they use to send spam texts. Do not give these people your real phone number or email. I deeply regret visiting this place.

Great workout on a Sunday morning! Good balance of floor/abs and cardio/strength exercises. This was a partner workout and I had an encouraging buddy who helped me get through the workout, which ended up a lot more challenging than it originally appeared. You are able and encouraged to push or modify as you see fit. Ample free street parking around the parking, at least for the morning hours that I was there (Pasadena). I've actually been to both locations now and like the vibe, workout, and staff in both places quite a lot.

Sanctuary Fitness Pasadena is one of the few HIIT workout gyms around. Because I took a break at another gym, I decided to try this one out because a running buddy had twisted my arm to go. The workouts are intense. It's divided into 4 stations with 2 substations where you rotate between A and B. It's kinda confusing at first, but the instructors do a good job of demonstrating the workouts. If you do it right, your muscles will be sore the next day. I feel that Sanctuary Fitness gave me a better workout than the other gym. If your muscles aren't as sore the next day or two, you aren't doing any work.
I thought the gym was pretty small than what I've been used to. Equipment wiping after each station is mandatory. There's also a "unwind" session at the end of the class, but you can probably do your own stretching if you're inclined to do so. Plenty of parking (paid, but cheap) in the garage, or the streets.

There is this lady called Maria, I was 2 minutes late and she did not let me join the class because “you can not join the class after warmup has started, instructors are very strict.” On the other hand, a guy walked in 3 minutes after me and he got to walk right in while Maria was blocking the door because he “called”. I've been working out/training for 14 years now and so happy i found Sanctuary Fitness. Classes leave my body more sore than i have in a long time. They take the guess work out for you; plan the work, show you the movements, and bring the energy to get you through it. The folks at the front desk are always helpful and welcoming. The classes are challenging, and because I'm still getting fit, I do need a lot of modifications, which all the instructors are very good about providing. It is a group, so you are not necessarily going to get 1:1 feedback about your form, but the group energy is what I need to keep motivated. You can always flag the instructor if you need help or a reminder on how to do an exercise but it is kind of on you to do that.

I tried their 7 day pass and visited 6 classes overall. The vibe and people around you really stand out, and it is a fun environment. The trainers do a good job of explaining the workouts and encouraging you to push to your personal limits, high or low. The workouts are fairly challenging, for the most part. Different types of workouts are spread throughout the week so you are working out a different area and muscle everyday (push, pull, legs, core, cardio). Experience level matters, and you can always modify as you please. The classes are packed, music is loud, and you will walk out feeling better about yourself. I would definitely recommned taking a class if you are interested.

Love coming to Sanctuary! The workouts are challenging and I’m almost always guaranteed that sore feeling the next day! The instructors are so friendly so if you’re feeling intimidated- don’t! Also, everyone is there minding their own business so don’t feel self conscious. Also, I love bringing my friends! The workout is a circuit and it’s just fun to have a partner but there’s rarely partner work if that worries you. Parking is $1 in the structure!

I've gotten a chance to attend a few classes at Santuary Fitness. The front desk staff are incredible helpful and kind. I like that they're not pushy and they let the classes speak for themselves. The equipment is well maintained and cleaned regularly. The instructors are well rounded and very versatile in their fitness background (e.g., crossfit, yoga). The classes are very well attended especially on the earlier days of the week. The size of the classes are sometimes upwards of 20+ which and it is difficult for one instructor to correct the form the students when each exercise only lasts 30 seconds. I notice poor form especially with barbell movements. I'd recommend having a second coach or even an apprentice walking around these large classes - making sure that people have the proper form AND proper weight to prevent injury.

I felt comfortable attending class knowing that it would be simple and I would have a great workout after just 50 minutes. Class was different every time which made it very fun. I love the format of the class! The instructors are motivational. We are shown modifications for the workouts we do so they can be more or less strenuous. I like this particularly because I don’t feel pressured to do more than I am able or ready to do. The front desk agent early morning is more kind and understanding than evening so I’ll stick to early mornings or go to another location until my pass is used up. I booked my first evening class at the Pasadena studio and had the most difficult time finding parking which made me 5 minutes late. It took me another minute or so to find an open locker so by time the agent came out she let me know she wouldn’t let me in. I could see the instructor starting to explain stations but just didn’t care to go back and forth starting an unnecessary feud. Policy is policy. The class started at 6:30 — I was walking out of the studio being refused service by 6:37.
I respect the timeliness of workouts but for sure looking for more compassion in circumstances like this. While I’ve loved the gym for the past 3 weeks and haven’t been late ever I’m not sure I’ll continue frequenting Sanctuary and will find somewhere else where guests are given more grace in such circumstances. We’ll see what my experience is when this pass expires in November!

The only possible improvement is being able to take more time to show each exercise as they are usually complicated movements. If possible have the tvs show prerecorded demonstrations of the movements on them. But very minor idea for improvement. This place is great!

I've been coming to Sanctuary on and off for a year or so to supplement my regular strength training (and just for fun). I've tried pretty much every HIIT studio in the area and this one of my top 3 favorites. The workouts are always well thought out and effective, good mix of cardio and strength, and never boring.
If you find the right instructor (my favorites are Aubrey, Zach, and Tara) and the right rhythm, you will absolutely feel it the next day, and maybe the day after. They mix up the exercises, use interesting equipment, and usually play good jams (they had a live dj once!). I've often left the class with a few ideas for new exercises/variations to try on my own.
Other pros: They're great about cleanliness, front desk staff are friendly and take the time to learn your name, bathrooms are well stocked with fancy goops, and there is a shower if you need it.
Only con is that classes are a bit crowded sometimes and it's hard to carve out a spot to do an exercise without running into a neighbor.

Great atmosphere and wonderful instructors! I am at a beginner level and I absolutely loved the different HIIT sessions focusing on different muscle groups. The space is clean, the equipment well maintained, and the music used during the workout session is the perfect mood setter. Aubrey, sharon and sabrina have been great as instructors, they often tell me how to modify an exercise to my fitness level and they correct me as well when I do an exercise wrong. The facility is clean and is still deep cleaned every Sunday. You can purchase a membership or packages. I went with a package to start. I had some free class pass points and was trying out all the Hiit workouts around Pasadena. Sanctuary ended up being my favorite. All the instructors are super friendly and have great energy. I've now gone for a little over a month and a half going 3 times a week. I've lost 10 lbs and feel stronger than I've ever been. I love the variety of workouts they offer. It's different every day so I'm never bored. I keep trying to push myself with each class and I feel great every time I leave. :)

I've tried a lot of different gyms and workout classes in LA and Pasadena, and I can safely say Sanctuary Fitness is one of my favorites! I appreciate that the staff are friendly and that the instructors (especially Allyzon, who I believe is the owner) are always observing and telling you how to adjust your form . I've tried some other group classes with the rotating stations that feel hectic and I am pretty shocked I was never injured, but I definitely don't get that feeling here. I got extremely lazy and started letting myself go once COVID hit and we got locked down for some time. My friend eventually convinced me to go with her to Sanctuary Fitness on a Groupon (yes, that’s still around!). I went, loved it, and ended up getting the monthly membership. This place offers HIIT (high intense interval training) group exercises. 44-50 min classes. I burn between 450-500 calories per session. The instructors are top notch and provides great advice. It’s exactly what the name implies — Sanctuary has truly been a wellness and fitness sanctuary for Pasadena and NELA during the pandemic. The entire team has demonstrated strength, resilience and nimbleness to adapt their coaching and classes to adhere to public health guidelines and public safety. Love this place! A membership is $200 a month and it’s a bit out of my price range but I think it’s worth it and trying to move money around because I would love to be a member. Love the workouts, everyday it’s something new. My body is sore in places I’ve never been sore before. The instructors are amazing. My faves are Sharon, Alyzon & Ashley. They have great energy and hype you up. I also love that they’re always walking around to correct your form or pushing you to keep going. I always feel great leaving class! The facility itself is clean, doesn’t smell bad, equipment is taken care of and I love that there’s mouthwash, towels for your during your workout, towels for you if you want to shower, a shower, shampoo, lotion, hairdryer.... and more!

Their set up and stations are what I enjoy the most, it’s ready and super clean. The instructors demonstrate your workout spots for the day and then your off to work up a sweat. I love this place! The trainers are very passionate and despite the large class sizes they still manage to pay attention to individuals and correct form when necessary. The workouts are tough but super efficient and I love the positivity each instructor brings to class. Everyone is friendly including the front desk staff and parking is a breeze (which matters in LA). Love coming here, will keep coming back.

Amazing workout, amazing group of people running the gym, great community... highly recommend! I’ve lived in all parts of the country and this is the best workout class/environment in my opinion. I’ll say it.. Sanctuary is better than Barry’s Bootcamp (if you know, you know that’s a bold statement)! So glad to have found this place!

I’m not the easiest person to convince when it comes to working out but ever since my best friend shared her favorite studio with me, I’ve been obsessed! I get easily bored and anxious in classes but never at sanctuary as the workouts are diverse, challenging yet fun! The best part of all are their AMAZING instructors. I haven’t met one I didn’t like, all are so inspiring without being annoying or intimidating. It’s not an easy workout and I’m incredibly self conscious but never have I felt like I didn’t belong due to my body type and strength level here. So much positivity and encouragement is provided within 45 minutes and as much as I’m angry and exhausted doing rows and box jumps - damn I feel good after.

I’ve been to many a group class and this is hands down one of the best i’ve been to EVER! There are no mirrors, no judgements and instead lots of love and hard work. I look forward to every class-I even dropped Class Pass because I didn’t want to go anywhere else! Love

I have been to a few classes and I would definitely say that Sanctuary Fitness has a very welcoming community. The staff and all the people that sign up to take the classes are super nice, friendly and encouraging! From the classes I have been to, I have noticed a solid group of consistent attendees - which just exemplifies how much people love coming back to Sanctuary Fitness. People are also not cliquey which I really like about the community. Taking group fitness classes can be intimidating because of that aspect, but I have never experienced that at Sanctuary. In regards to the actual workouts - they change every day so you never feel bored! I have always done a new workout in each class I've been to and learned something new each time. I would recommend Sanctuary Fitness!

Sanctuary Fitness - Pasadena is an amazing HIIT workout for anyone who is looking for more strength training in their workout routine. I love how the exercises are different every time and the coaches are all very motivational and supportive. The facility is very clean and has all the amenities you would need - bathrooms, shower, lockers, water, towels, etc. I would definitely recommend people check it out and add Sanctuary Fitness to their workout.

I honestly love the classes and instructors here. The workouts are tough but completely scalable (i.e., you can adjust to your fitness level). The instructors offer a great balance between motivating and providing technical instruction on the movements. And to top it off, the facilities and equipment are top-notch!

I used to be a serial gym dater on classpass. Now I predominantly go to this Sanctuary location. Everything is clean and new. The front desk people and the trainers are upbeat and outgoing without being overbearing. They always remember me even if I take a week or two off which makes it feel more like a family than just a gym. The classes are HIIT format but differ each day and each week which is really nice. I always feel challenged here and am SO happy it is within walking distance to my apartment!
