I ABSOLUTELY love their Saturday night, 'Parents Night Out'! My kids are always asking to go back, and I love the manager who runs it!

Terrible camp experience. Too many kids/chaotic--spent most of the day waiting in line. Super hot--kids are forced to stay outside for lunch without enough shade for all of them (my kids came home sunburnt). Leaned no gymnastic skills. My kids favorite part of the camp was "sitting in front of the fan".

Wish I could give this place a lower rating than one star. Paid an absolute ton for my twins to attend camp here. It was jam packed with kids, no air conditioning on a blazing hot day; they came back sunburned from having been made to sit outside for over an hour at lunch. I called and asked for a pro-rated refund as we will absolutely not be sending them back. The manager said they could only give us a half refund as a store credit (we will not be using that!) - I was absolutely stunned. They didn’t even care about why we had a bad experience and made no attempt to remedy. I am appalled. This place is overpriced and a nightmare. They do not care about your kids. Stay away.

I've never written a poor review, but here it goes:

My daughter attended spring camp there. On the second to last day she had a head injury, and I was told by my babysitter who picked her up that she was alone in a chair and had cried herself to sleep. I was not notified by the staff at SB Gymnastics Club. The ill trained instructors did not know drowsiness is a sign of a concussion. A day and a half later she complained of headaches. She got a CT scan. One of my least favorite memories was seeing her gassed down for this procedure. It was deemed that the headache could be related to trauma. Gross negligence on their front.

In addition to this nightmare, the website said after-care would be $50, but was emailed days before the camp began that it was a misprint and actually $250. I would not have signed her up for a 5 day camp that would cost $600 total. With other camps full and desperate for child care, I had little choice. I complained to Sam Sarmiento, the owner, but he effectively said too bad. He granted me a $75 credit for my frustration, but why the heck would I want my daughter to return to this gym? Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

Wonderful facility, the only one of its kind in Santa Barbara area. After reading several reviews on here, there seems to be a common gripe about the website, Billing, and maybe having some younger / newer coaches. I feel like it’s up to you the parents to get as involved as possible if you have high expectations. If your child requires extra attention, then participate in the class, stay by their side, or get private lessons. As far as Billing goes, get clarification on how it works. All gyms and membership facilities have a fine print that you want to be as educated as possible about before committing to automatic payments. So giving this business such low reviews based off of that single experience doesn’t really speak to the net positive this business has on the community. I think if you’re looking for individualized coaching, then you have to pay for private lessons. And coaches are young because it’s a hard job to do, personally I’m grateful that they have as many as they do. We’ve only had good experiences here and we know families who have also had positive experiences here. I’m sure there could be some business end or customer service improvements, but so far our family is happy with their service and what they provide. Thanks!

Great facility! Super fun staff, lots of equipment for gymnastics, parkour, aerial, trampoline work! Best place for gymnastics and aerial training in sb!

This company does not care for the well-being of the children, especially those with difficulties or special needs and only care about their profit. Their staff is young, inexperienced and don’t have basic child development training. On top of their Summer camps being too large and overwhelming. My son had an episode, was not checked in with (I watched) and he wanted to leave within the first hour on the first day, we tried again the second day and I return from my car to find him all alone screaming and crying at the gate. He has never acted like this at camps before. We left and did not return the rest of the week. I emailed explaining the situation, as it was a unique situation that fell outside of their cancellation policy, requesting a credit to be applied to a smaller class. After months of going back and forth, I was told giving us a full credit would β€œput our business at a loss”. They simply cannot see the bigger long term picture of good customer service with returning clientele. After speaking out about my experience, I have received several messages from other parents sharing their negative experiences.

After traveling to Santa Barbara with a few friends I came across the gyms "Open Gym" time and decided to give it a try. I couldn't have been more pleased with the staff, management, and even the new owner of the gym. They treated me so well and even helped me get over my fear of backflips by walking me through the move step by step until I finally got it! They created a fun, safe, and friendly environment for everyone! I can't wait to go back! 10/10 would recommend!

Very unfortunate. They trick you into a permanent billing arrangement without disclosing it or explaining it. You get billed apparently regardless if you are enrolled in a class. Classes can be often be full or not available then you are paying for nothing and with terms not explained or made clear.

After months trying to enrol my daughter they never got back to me and when they did i wanted to cancle the trail and they still charged my card months after. 3 months later they charge me without my daughter even going one time i asked for a refound and they did not want to give me refouns. I did bot sign no argreement and they still charged me. Worst service ever and they job at teaching kids is not good. Dont take your kid here.

Lots of varying reviews on here. Personally, my daughter likes the gym, son starting soon. Her coaches are nice, and pretty helpful. Front staff is nice.

Downsides, their website is pretty pointless as far as your parent portal goes. You can look up classes and such but to add, change, do anything at all you have to email them every single time. They get back to you pretty much whenever they want sometimes they are super on it, sometimes you get no reply. If you call they will tell you to email them LOL! It's a lot of pointless circles, why have the online portal that lets you click around but not actually change anything. Apart from that kids aren't complaining, so it works.

Zero star.
I had a terrible experience with the owner. She is a rude person and doesn't know the difference between teaching and educating. In fact she doesn't know both. The staff is not able to demonstrate the exercises. Would work like a recreation center, but even for that pprpouse I don't want my daughter there.

Zero stars. I took my children 7 and 10 years old and they didn't like it at all. The trial class was very informal. The teacher was unable to demonstrate gymnastics and kids needed to figure it out. Was not good experience. Plus the place looks old and unattractive.

My kids (age 4 and 7) have just finished up two weeks of camp and loved every minute! They are begging to go to more classes and camps!
My 7 year old boy loved the trampoline and is looking to continue with a class in the fall. There are some WONDERFUL male coaches (Sam and Graham) that my son loved.
My 4 year old daughter was a bit more hesitant, as this was her first camp experience, but the coaches were great and made her feel comfortable very quickly. There were also some very nice older "team" girls who helped her as well.
We are so lucky to have found this business!

My children have attended this gym for many years. They compete with the team and love their coaches and the gym. I have nothing but good things to say about the coaches and the gym in general. I would not have my kids at a place up to 12 hours a week if I did not think it was a great place. They offer great winter and summer camps. My kids love to participate in the parades and show off the skills they have been working hard on. This is a business that has been open for 30+ years so clearly they are doing something right. I will continue to send my kids here and will do so with complete confidence that they are in a great gymnastics club!
