I absolutely love Santa Cruz Boxing. I’ve been taking classes for a little over a year, and I’m consistently impressed by the coaching and the vibe. Everyone is warm and welcoming. Unlike other gyms I’ve tried, I never dread going to class—and I always leave the 45-minute sessions dripping with sweat.

I usually attend morning classes, which typically include a warm-up, five minutes of abs, bag work, some mitt work with the coach, and circuit training.

I really enjoy Santa Cruz boxing! I did the 6 week challenge to start and lost 8 pounds. Just had my baby a year ago and this was the perfect way to start getting my body back. Lots of fun while working out!

Santa Cruz Boxing is an excellent gym and the owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. I've lost 33 pounds since I made this gym part of my life. I highly recommend SCB if you want to get a good workout that is fun and where you can learn some skills too. Five stars!

Santa Cruz Boxing is one of the best workout experiences I’ve had. You get a full-body workout while also learning boxing and kickboxing technique. The environment is fun, welcoming, and never intimidating, whether you’re brand new or have experience. The coaches are fantastic. Each brings their own strengths and style, and they all take the time to get to know you, help you improve, and challenge you in a supportive, encouraging way. I’ve been coming here for more than a year and recommend it to anyone looking to get into a new and fun workout routine.

SC Boxing is great! The workouts are dynamic and well-rounded, and the staff is friendly and inviting. You'll see results fast. I recommend a few private lessons to start so that your technique is dialed before jumping into the regular class, but it's not crucial, because the instructors will make sure you are taken care of regardless.

By far the coolest boxing gym in town. They have group training which is nice but also have 1 on 1 coaching which is so fun. If your looking to just get a great workout in or your trying to step your boxing game up this place is the jam.

I can’t believe it. Brian and his team take it to the next level. This is not just a gym, this is a family that truly cares about your fitness. We’re living at a time where so many people are struggling with stress and anxiety…

This full body workout, including the choice of boxing and kickboxing, is the ultimate stress relief, and an opportunity to come back to our center, with like-minded, awesome humans supporting us and the energy of leadership and possibility all around.

I can’t recommend Santa Cruz boxing highly enough.

I never liked going to a gym and working out and sweating. Then 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. My doctor suggested I check out a program for people with PD called Rock Steady Boxing. (Boxing?! Seriously?!). But I needed to deal with this disease so I tried it out. On the very first day there were people who immediately welcomed me!! Many were dealing with more severe symptoms than I was. And they were all stoked, working hard and being a supportive and welcoming community! And even more: the interactions with each other, the boxing, the stretches, the games...activities that help balance and build strength and keep my mind engaged and challenged...THIS HAS BEEN MY EXERCISE GO-TO several times every week for the last 7 years!! I still don't like sweating...but I LOVE how I feel after every class: stronger in my body and spirit and community! So grateful for this great exercise program for us Parkies!!

I am so incredibly happy with my experience at Santa Cruz Boxing. Brian is so encouraging and personable. He takes a genuine interest in the experience of his gym members. Cesar is a remarkable coach who isn’t just an engaging, responsive, and skilled coach but he builds community within his classes. He helps foster a supportive team environment where we all encourage each other to keep showing up. I have really appreciated that there is a consistent and genuine air of acceptance for anyone who steps though the door.

Santa Cruz Boxing is the best. I joined about a year ago, and have had a wonderful experience. The coaches listen, help us adjust when needed and are incredibly supportive. I love going to class, I have fun during the session and I feel great afterwards. I can tell that I’m so much stronger than when I started. Everyone should give Santa Cruz Boxing a try.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Brian was so kind and informed and patient with my husband! He’s out of shape and has never done boxing before. He’s really excited to improve his energy and health with such a fun workout. Brian was super accommodating to our busy schedules as well. Great and affordable 1:1 workout, but they offer classes as well!!

Brian and Cesar are just amazing! They took the time to understand what I want to get out of boxing since I’m just starting out and they kept in contact with me throughout the process. The classes are fast paced and yet perfectly geared towards learning boxing from the start. You learn and put everything into practice immediately. As a beginner, this was everything I hoped for and more in terms of learning boxing and cardio workout. Highly recommended.

The Rock Steady Boxing program is awesome! It's a fun and supportive class for those of us with Parkinson's Disease and I've seen a difference in my symptoms, not to mention my attitude.

This is my second review of Rock Steady Boxing in Scotts Valley California. They offer a fine tuned exercise / fitness program lead by Brian Dunniway a certified trainer. Brian's program is tailored to the needs of individuals who are in all phases of Parkinson D.

The Rock Steady programs provide a great workout and reflect the different ability levels of the participants. Go Rock Steady!

We are a couple of retired professionals without a regular workout routine. In the past six months this gym has become a welcome habit. We appreciate the attention and creativity it takes to keep us coming back and we learn something new every class. Some days we might be reluctant to get to the gym but it only takes a few minutes and we are smiling and hitting the bags and feeling good! The coach is welcoming, educated, instructional and full of bad dad jokes - which keep us laughing.
Come join us!

I have wanted to go to Santa Cruz boxing for YEARS but kept putting it off knowing that I wouldn't know all of the moves and unsure what the environment was. I showed up and Brian was incredibly kind and helpful getting my hands wrapped and going over what the class would be like. An INCREDIBLE workout that included interval training and was really inclusive of all abilities. It also was truly a full body workout. I look forward to continuing my training here.

I did a week trial at Santa Cruz boxing and I loved it! I would've definitely signed up full time there if I weren't moving out of the country. I thought it was so fun that I even did 4 classes in one day on the first day! Brian and Robert were amazing!

Been going to this gym for nine years now. I can't imagine ever leaving. Brian and Robert are the salt of the earth! I am an “older” person, and as one gets older, abilities change and adaptations are required. Coaches consider each of the member's needs and make individual adjustments – while still maintaining a excellent workout!

I came in a little nervous and never having boxed before but everyone has been so supportive and the coaches are so great that I haven’t looked back since. It has quickly become part of my daily routine. Highly recommend for anyone thinking about boxing to check it out.

I was referred to Santa Cruz Boxing by a friend. It has been such a great experience, and I'm glad there is such an amazing fitness resource available in Scott's Valley. I purchased the $99 two week trial special, and then I worked with Brian 1:1 a few times to learn some self defense tactics. I've also participated in the Friday 4 p.m. boxing circuit class, which is very helpful with integrating new people, like me, into boxing; it's also a challenging workout for any level.

I highly recommend Santa Cruz Boxing. It's well run by the owner, the people are friendly, the classes are fun and you'll get a a great workout.
