SCEND Fitness, located in Solana Beach, California, is a community-centered personal training studio that is focused on bringing out the best in our members with our supportive fitness programs and classes. Some of the programs that we offer include personal training, small group training sessions, nutrition coaching, and physical therapy. I had a wrist surgery scheduled and specifically didn’t want to lose any upper body strength while I healed. I surf frequently, and was afraid of losing surfing muscle. Kali put the perfect program together for me. She listened to what I needed and made it happen. This was evident during my first workout after healing, where I felt even more strong than before the surgery!!! I was also able to start surfing again as if I had never stopped.
What I also really liked about the program was not just the personal attention paid to me, but the app I could use in my phone to track my progress. If I forgot how to do a particular exercise, my app had an easy-to-access video library where I could review how to do the exercises. Kali could also monitor my progress, and I have to admit her online “go get-em’s” didn’t hurt! I was able to track my progress and improvement during the entire process. Kali checked in with me after every workout to make sure I was good and on-track for success.
I’d recommend Kali for all of your personal fitness needs. She’s professional, attentive, well educated about her field, and an all-around great person! Hire her and I personally guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

I’ve been working with Ryan Schneider at SCEND Fitness since January 2024. She has helped me make significant improvements in my balance, strength, and overall fitness level. My workouts are always groomed specifically to my needs and Ryan adjusts my workouts accordingly when I have injuries or other random physical limitations. It’s clear that both Ryan as well as Kali Stewart, SCEND Fitness owner, care deeply about their clients and are true fitness professionals. Ryan and Kali also volunteer their time and resources to local philanthropies. I highly recommend both Ryan and Kali. They are excellent trainers and on top of that, truly wonderful people.

I’ve been training with Kim McNeil for over 2 years now and I have made tremendous progress in my strength, endurance and flexibility. I was training in random gyms before that and I didn’t see results. Kim has the technical knowledge to take your training to the next level. I've been coming here since December of 2020, trying to work off that Covid 20. Kali set me up with Ryan who has been creating personalized sessions with me for months. She challenges me to push my limits while also catering my workouts to accommodate my (multiple) past knee surgeries and injuries. This is the first time I have EVER felt comfortable in a gym, and the first time I have ever felt comfortable strength training. EVER. No judgment at this gym. Only kindness. Try out Scend if you want to get stronger and be challenged, while also feeling supported and welcomed.

I recently moved from Solana Beach and one of the things I miss the most is my workout with Kali. At 68, Kali challenged me and made me stronger, even at my age. I appreciated her attention to previous injury, the support, kindness and knowledge she has. The workouts were stepped up and changed as my strength grew, yes grew! I am so grateful for the body of wonderful knowledge that exists in the form of owner Kimberly! I have been training with her for the last 8 months and am enjoying not only increased strength and mobility, but being sneak attacked with all sort of body tricks and information from other forms such as aikido, olympic style weight lifting, and qui gong. Kim Mcneil has been working with me for a number of years. I have done individual and group sessions with her as well as classes. Her enthusiasm makes it fun and her passion for and knowledge of fitness has made all the sessions valuable in improving my fitness level. I am much improved from when I first started working out with her, which has allowed me to enjoy my recreational activities more, such as biking, pickleball, hiking and active vacations. Kim McNeil has been training me for the past three years and she is by far the best trainer I’ve ever had. She is incredibly intelligent and her workouts have not only helped me heal from past injuries but I feel like I’ve also prevented injuries since working out with her. I used to get lots of ankle sprains and back pain but since I’ve been training with her over the years, I’ve noticed that disappear and I feel overall stronger. I trust her and her methods; since training with her I have toned up, lost weight, and become overall happier and more confident in my body image and self-esteem.
