My daughter enjoyed the try-it-out portion that we paid for, then my spouse fell for the 'upsell' of paying for 6 months plus the gi $35. Well, after a few weeks of going my child saw how they get initiated into a level, which involves a kick to the midriff. From then on my child was no longer interested! Even though we've only used 2 months of the time we paid for, Scott refuses to refund any portion of the funds we paid. I think the studio was a good place to learn on our Mon/Fri experience with the adult classes, but kids change their mind and that should be considered and refunds should be issued. Why would you want to have a child come who no longer wanted to pursue this experience? Parents be aware of your child and pay month by month until they are firmly established in attending.

I paid for private lessons by Scott before my son was to start the group classes, plus 180 for uniform. Scott failed to teach at any of the private lesson and put my son Anthony with one of his students that constantly kick him in the crotch hurting him and never taught a thing. Scott is a fraud.

If you are looking for a martial art to join to better yourself, look no further. Mr. Halsey and his other instructors are very knowledgeable in the art and classes are offered 5 days a week at a very reasonable price.

Incredible place! We started both our boys ages 16 and 8 here about a month ago and itβs been amazing. Scott the owner is fantastic. Heβs a great balance of bringing discipline and expectation, with fun and grace. Both our boys had no previous experience with martial arts and are both thriving. Weβre very happy with the quality of teaching and overall positive environment. I highly recommend them!

A local charter school was going to pay twice a week for my son to go for PE. There was an up sell for his outfit and some private lessons to give him a solid base to start. So I paid a $160, no troubles. The private sessions were rushed and cut short of the time I paid for because Scott had other thing he was doing. Then Scott didn't bother to do the private lesson that I paid for, he put it off on a student and other student didn't teach my son anything but kicked him in the croach the whole time. After 3 not so great meetings, there were still private lessons that were paid for left, we chose not to schedule more and we are stuck with a new fight outfit that won't be used. The place also had a very weird moldly/rot type stench too. My kid is a hardy teen and he has done many recreational activities, he ended up doing Wu Ying Tao at Blain Courts total self defense in Anderson for over 8 months now and it is amazing.
