Sessions Personal Training is a well- equipped gym with exceptional staff. The owner, Evan, is an upbeat and affable man; he instantly made me feel welcomed. On my first session, I met Lawson, a hands-on and engaging man - both knowledgeable and encouraging.
The equipment is first rate and well maintained. As a rower (single scull), I focused on the Concept2 Row Ergs. These were in exceptionally good condition; a sure sign they look after all their equipment. I’ve seen RowErgs in very poor shape and some supposedly first-rate establishments.
If you’re looking for a professional outfit to get in shape and keep it, I highly recommend you visit Sessions.

I came into town visiting for a work trip and stumbled across sessions personal training. I am an avid fitness goer, and finding this gem in Santa Monica was what I needed during my work trip. The gym is beautiful the owner Evan was incredibly nice and the bathrooms were immaculate. They focus on personal training, but we’re happy to open their doors to me during my visit. Can’t recommend them enough

I am an Olympic athlete and visiting the city for work. My hotel gym didn’t cut it so I walked into Sessions and they were so kind and have everything I needed to get a really good lift. Super friendly staff, clean space, nice showers with cold towels and products for you. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this gym. (But calling it a gym is selling it short.) The coaches program individualized workouts and pay attention to how I'm moving to make sure I'm working the right muscles and minimizing the risks of injuries. I have a collection of old injuries so this is very important for me - I may think I can go the way I did when I was in my twenties, but I can't. Claire has me working hard, but safely, and I'm already feeling stronger. Everyone is there to workout, so the mood is focused, but still fun. Evan, the owner, has set up a terrific place. I walk out of Sessions feeling better than when I walked in.

Before coming to Sessions I really had no experience in the gym and was very intimidated by machines and weights. Knowing that I wanted to get stronger and prevent injury, I knew strength training was the best option for me.
Trainers Shelle and Lorson are fantastic and have helped me so much to improve my form, motivate me and get stronger. They help to create such a positive and fun environment and I actually look forward to my workouts every morning.
Would definitely say that Sessions is well worth the investment!

Before going into Sessions for a tour and assessment today, I had never really been able to touch my toes (usually like 4-5 inches off). Evan was quickly able to identify the issue and exercises that would help, and by the time I walked out, I was finally able to! Needless to say, I will be going back. :)

Really nice small gym with personalized workouts in small groups. The workouts are challenging, but the trainers make sure you have the right form to avoid injury and work with you if you are injured. 3D body scan lets you track body fat % not just weight. If you’re looking for a tailored workout and a positive environment, I’d recommend Sessions.

I absolutely love Sessions Personal Training Gym in Santa Monica. Every time I go, I get an incredible workout that’s tailored to my goals and needs. The personal trainers are truly top-notch—always attentive to form, making sure you’re pushing yourself safely and effectively. I’ve worked with Evan, Shelle, Lorson, and Claire, and they’re all fantastic—you really can’t go wrong with anyone here. I book whichever time slot best fits my work schedule.
What I love most is that no two days are ever the same. The workouts stay fresh and challenging, but they’re always customized to you. The environment is super positive and welcoming, and it genuinely motivates you to show up and do your best.
Another huge plus: the high-tech 3D scan machine that you can use to track your progress whenever you want—such a cool and helpful tool. Booking sessions is super easy, the space is clean and well-equipped, and overall it’s just an amazing place to train.
Highly, highly recommend for anyone looking to get into great shape and get great value along the way! I’m very proud of the weight I’ve lost in only six weeks!

I love Sessions Santa Monica! They build a workout plan around your goals, and Coach Evan checks in regularly to see how things are going and adjust if needed. The 3D body scan is awesome—super motivating to actually see your progress. The trainers are all super knowledgeable and encouraging. If you're someone who wants to get in shape, but gets intimidated by massive self guided gyms and also get bored of working out at home, Sessions is the place for you!
The trainers here are really experienced, caring and attentive. They take the time to understand your goals and preferences and customizes a program tailored specific to you. If you come with intention, you will learn how to properly exercise and quickly feel the difference. I seriously get an adrenaline rush after every session.
It is a bit on the pricey side, but if you can afford it, 10/10 would recommend. I mean, what better thing to invest in than your own health?

I now have been to both locations and Santa Monica is just as good as Mar Vista. Harrison and Evan pay close attention to your needs and help you with your technique. I’ve been going to this gym for the past three weeks, and I can’t say enough great things about it! Being in a new place can be overwhelming, but this gym and all the trainers have given me a sense of stability and routine that I truly appreciate. The atmosphere is welcoming, the equipment is top-notch and well-maintained, it’s impeccably clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Evan has especially been great and is clearly knowledgeable with training.

So far, Evan has been great at helping me with my goals of improving my lifting technique, helping me to build strength, and--most importantly--helping me target my imbalances and weaknesses. I went into Sessions with the goal of finally addressing a shoulder stability/impingement issue, and I've really appreciated how Evan has customized my program for this. He's clearly very knowledgeable, he has a good eye for form, and his cueing is specific and helpful. His coaching staff is encouraging, and the gym environment balances fun/humor with no BS "get it done" hard effort.
Whether your goal is improving your body comp, or--like me--fixing technique and increasing overall strength, I think Sessions is worth a try!

This gym is life changing. Actually. They’re the perfect balance between encouraging, understanding, and fun! Evan has pushed me further than I ever realized was possible. I feel such a sense of accomplishment every time I leave and genuinely look forward to every workout when in the past I used to dread it. I’ve been working with Evan (the owner) on and off for 10 years now. As a cardiologist, I seek fitness professionals that care about their clients the same way that I care for my patients. I have yet to come across another trainer or gym that cares as much about their members the way that Evan and his coaches do at Sessions Personal Training. You can get a great workout anywhere. But I have yet to find a gym that develops programs around an individuals lifestyle the way that Sessions does. Not only have I trained here for my aesthetics, I’ve also utilized their expertise to help me recovery from - and prevent - injuries. Ever since I started training at Sessions Personal Training, my life has changed for the better in every way! To start off, the staff and coaches are really unmatched. They take the time from the moment you have your first tour to get to know you and really help tailor your program to your needs and goals. The 1:1 accountability is exactly what I need. I've done group fitness classes and had a membership at a gym before this, but having the trainers really support you and keep you on track to reach your goals is so helpful. What I also love is how comfortable I feel in this gym space. As someone who's been intimidated of going to bigger gyms, I feel comfortable working out here, you never have to wait for equipment, and everyone is so encouraging and supportive!

I've never really felt comfortable in a gym setting until now. I was pretty intimidated by all of the equipment, and I was always afraid of hurting myself if I used something wrong, so I usually stuck to treadmills and group classes. Sessions has definitely made me stronger, but the biggest change has been my confidence. The coaches help me to understand my workouts, they don't make me feel bad about asking questions, and they really care about my progress. I'm so happy I found Sessions!

Sessions is the best gym I've ever been to, period. It's a semi-personal training gym. and the coaches here are so knowledgable. I had a 1:1 strategy session with Lorsen where we discussed my individual workout program, my soreness and hydration, and what supplements I could take to optimize those. I love the mornings with Shelly - she's so good at giving me technical feedback and she has the best playlists! This place gives me the perfect balance between feeling safe and feeling challenged. There's also a 3D body scanner to track progress, and the bathrooms are so nice!

I'd really started to lose my muscle mass after the pandemic, and my motivation was lacking. Turns out I only needed enough motivation to get to Sessions.
These guys are great, your workouts are customized for your goals and limitations (and what you actually like). The place is beautifully done and plenty of equipment and room for the small groups they schedule, and a lovely shower/ restroom area.
But mostly there is a lot of encouragement and support so humans of any age feel good about getting/ staying in shape (yes, older humans too).

What a special group of people in a beautiful space! Sessions has a group of coaches that are extremely knowledgeable and supportive in helping reach your goals. Individualized workout plans, and strategy sessions challenge, and hold you accountable in the gym and in your day-to-day practices. As a first time mother getting back into the gym this was a daunting challenge and I’m so glad I chose to try Sessions!
