I've been working out with Chris Malony for 10 months now. She sat down with me and helped me outline a plan to reach my weight/fitness goals. I have lost the 20lbs I wanted to, kept it off, and achieved my personal best time for the half-marathon I ran in August. The thing I like the best about her classes is that she's very attentive, and is quick to help you use correct form when doing the exercises, as well as modify them with you if you're injured or at a lower fitness level. She is very personable, but expects an honest effort. I recommend her to anyone I hear asking for recommendations. I'm an extremely satisfied customer.

Chris is a wonderfully engaging instructor - her workouts are really dynamic and fun, and she is very hands on in helping people with their form, any needed modifications or working around injuries/limitations, while still pushing everyone in class beyond their comfort zone and to their limits. Great upbeat workouts and an encouraging, motivating atmosphere!!

5/3/16 Started to write a new review, but really like this one so much, I can't find much to change about it! Best place I've ever worked out and I've worked out at a LOT of places. The clients are great and welcoming and have fun sweating together. The instructors are beyond amazing. The workouts are hard and would challenge elite athletes as well as can be modified for those of us not so athletically elite! I actually enjoy having my Boot kicked and get quite grumpy when I have to miss a class or two! Check it out...you'll never find another place like this!
Without a doubt THE BEST workout EVER! Love the Bootcamps, the TRX and the PIYO classes. Chris Maloney not only knows how to create and run bootcamps, but how to motivate and encourage and hire amazing instructors who also maintain and believe in her high standards! I was a ClubSport member for 3 years and although it is a posh club, they offer NOTHING as awesome as Chris does at Shape Up! Since returning to Chris (I was with her 13 years ago when she started out meeting in the Sports Park) I've lost almost 20 pounds, my core is stronger than ever in my life, my energy is higher and I enjoy...yes ENJOY...working out. You can't go wrong with Shape UP! Everyone is welcomed, supported and encouraged no matter the condition they are when joining. Great for all people no matter what shape they are in...they will shape up safely and in an amazing supportive family of instructors and students! Can't say enough good about Shape Up!

I love Shape Up! bootcamp classes!! Jess and Chris are great motivators and always make the classes challenging and fun at the same time! I am so grateful to have found this studio. The location works well for me to stop by directly after work for the PM sessions and get an amazing work out in before I go home to make dinner. This is a very healthy habit that I have gotten in the routine of and, when I keep it up, I feel great! I am more energetic and I feel strong and confident. I highly recommend this studio. Go check out a class (your first one is free) and you will want to sign up!!

Chris Maloney is a rock star! I have been working out with her for almost three years and continue to see results. I had been trying to workout on my own to get back into doing some sort of exercise a few times a week, but with very little success. A friend introduced me to Chris and I instantly became hooked. Not only were the workouts challenging but forced me to step out of my comfort zone to do and try things that I didn't thing I could. I feel like I am in better shape now than I was in my early twenties. I did Chris's 6 week boot camp challenge. I have a background in running. That is my sport. It's what I know, and what I'm comfortable with. I also have a 24 hour fitness membership, with which I would use for running, but never ventured into the uncharted territory of the weights. Well, a year ago I gave birth to my daughter. My entire world changed, including my body. I had no idea the toll pregnancy would take on me. I came out of pregnancy feeling like a deflated balloon. So I ran, and ran, and ran.... Nothing. I was noticing NO difference in my body . What once worked for me no longer did. I was lost and had no idea how to lose the weight. I had fat in places I've never had before. I decided to sign up for boot camp. In six weeks Chris worked EVERY muscle In my body. She was always there to help me with my form. Every day is something new, your body never has the chance to plateau . It's amazing how much stronger I feel. Another thing I love about boot camp is the community of people. Everyone is there to help. No judgement. I loved Chris's boot camp and I know you'll love it too 💗

I have been working out with Shape Up! for about 7 months now. I was a little intimidated at first as I had not worked out for a while, and I was "a bit older and bigger" than most of the people in the class. But it was fine to go at my own pace and do as much as I could; I can now do just about everything. This is the best investment of an hour that I could possible make in my own health. Chris mixes things up and it has never been boring. I feel good physically and I feel no more guilt about not working out!

When I moved to California 5 1/2 years ago, I left a great trainer and workout regimen behind. I wondered whether I would find a comparable workout here. Someone suggested I try ShapeUp! with Chris Maloney. Well, here I am still to this day and I have loved it ever since. I look forward to going to bootcamp and TRX and if I have to miss it for some reason, I am not a happy camper.
Chris knows how to motivate you and makes sure that you are doing the exercises correctly so that you will not get hurt and get the maximum results. Any workout on any day is your workout; meaning you can ramp it up or tone it down depending on how you are feeling, and Chris will let you know how to modify to get the most.
Chris is not only a great, knowlegeable trainer, she is just a great human being. I am blessed that I have had this opportunity and I love to take advantage of it 4-5 times a week. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone from age 10 to 110.

I love Shape Up! Boot Camps and Fitness! I had been working out regularly for awhile, but it wasn't until I joined Shape UP! that I really started to notice a difference in muscle definition and overall strength. Chris Maloney is a superb instructor who invests in everyone's unique training goals and needs. She has designed a program that anyone can start at any age and at any fitness level. The program offers a great variety of classes (boot camp, TRX, PiYo) and all of the other trainers are very skilled at what they do and know how to appropriately challenge the students to get as much as they can out of each class. The boot camp classes provide the perfect balance of cardio and strength training and no class is ever the same. It really is total body fitness! Additionally, Chris provides initial and follow-up consultations that will help you to determine your fitness goals, make modifications to your exercise regimen and nutrition/diet that will help you reach your goals, and track your progress over time. While the workouts are challenging, the general atmosphere created by the instructors and members is one that is both fun and supportive. I highly recommend people to try Shape UP! Boot Camps!

Chris Maloney and her staff at Shape Up! Boot Camps and Fitness are absolutely amazing! I never thought I'd be so excited to wake up in the mornings to work out but coming to classes here have completely improved my physical and mental wellbeing. As someone who got bored doing the same routine at the gym every day and not seeing any improvements, now I finally feel like I'm doing the best exercise for my body. After 2 months of coming to these classes, it's inspiring and uplifting to see my body transform each month into what I want it to be. It's one of the best feelings to walk out of each class knowing I'm just that much closer to my physical goals. Thank you, Chris, for putting such amazing classes together every day! Chris' workouts are always a challenge and fun. Every session has a variety of weight training, cardio intervals, TRX and them some. You'll never get bored and I've gone Boot Camp for over 6 years. Chris and the other instructors truly give you personalized instruction in a group class. The environment is motivational and encouraging. If you want results, give it a month and you'll be hooked and on your way to fit.

Thanks to Chris and Shape Up Bootcamps & Fitness - I am so much stronger and healthier today than I was a year ago. I LOVE my 6am workouts & workout buddies - such a great way to start the day. Shape Up has lots of different types of workouts and times - pick a class and get started!
When you take your first class, all of the instructors make sure that you feel welcomed - as do all of the fabulous people who work out at this facility - truly some of the nicest people I've met! Do NOT feel that you have to be in good shape to start working out here ... when I started, I could barely jump rope or do push-ups or planks ... but now ... I can do more than I could a year ago, and I know that next year I will be even further along in my fitness goals. Such a great feeling to see and feel results - and that's what you get when you work out at this gym.
If you are looking for an awesome, challenging, and supportive coach to help you meet your health and fitness goals, look no further. Chris and her team of instructors are the BEST!!

I've been with Shape Up! Boot Camp for over 5 years now and absolutely, hands down love it and highly recommend it. I have tried other bootcamps and gyms only to realize that what Chris offers is one of a kind. She knows how to motivate you during your work out. Provides constant (and I mean CONSTANT) correction of form and encouragement throughout the workout - just when you think you can slack here comes Sergeant Maloney to the rescue. She also provides modification for those who are either new to her classes or have had an injury or some set back. She cares and it shows. I have tried the 30 minute workouts, the yoga, the barre and although it can work for some, I think what Shape Up provides is clearly the best overall workout with a warm up and cool down. I am always recommending it to others as often as I can. You should try it - you will NOT be sorry!!

I have seen amazing results from Shape Up! My body is stronger, leaner and healthier and I have seen significant improvements to my running.
I’ve Been taking classes for over 2 years – I initially started classes to help remove baby weight 6 weeks post baby #2 and found that the strength training and cardio in class helped me to significantly improve my running. I have become a stronger and faster runner, completing my first full marathon this past fall.
Chris and all of the trainers are extremely encouraging, providing the right amount of push as well as cheering you on to help you reach your fitness goals. The Shape Up team also is very accommodating with modifications as needed for previous injury or physical restrictions. I am currently pregnant with baby #3 and have loved the teams support in helping to keep me fit!
Shape Up is a very encouraging family-like environment; both trainers and members are great. I am so happy my husband and I found Shape Up back in 2012.

Chris Maloney is awesome. I love Shape Up bootcamp and TRX classes. I can tell a difference in how I feel and my core has become stronger from TRX. TRX has been my 60 minute secret to changing the mid-life muffin top to something stronger and leaner:)
