About the Club

Sisters in Motion is a trauma-informed, non-performative pole dance studio in San Francisco where women of all ages and fitness levels discover strength, confidence and heal their relationship with their bodies through embodied pole dance and feminine sensual movement.
Our studio has low lighting and no mirrors and our movement focuses on how it feels to the dancer rather than what it looks like.
Sisters in Motion is the only licensed S Factor Pole Dancing and feminine embodiment studio in the Bay Area. S Factor is featured on the Netflix documentary "Strip Down/Rise Up" and is considered the original Pole Studio.
Our Beginner friendly classes are offered Mon. - Wed. and students can take their first class for $20.

Sisters in Motion has completely changed my life.

This isn’t just a dance studio, it’s a space where I’ve reconnected with my body, built real strength, and found a supportive, inspiring community of women. I was initially nervous to try something new, but from the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, encouraged, and completely free to show up exactly as I am.

The classes are an amazing mix of movement, music, and empowerment. Whether it’s sensual flow, strength-based conditioning, or something more expressive and emotional, every class offers something unique. You get a real workout, but more than that, you leave feeling grounded, energized, and more connected to yourself.

The instructors are phenomenal, skilled, kind, and genuinely invested in your growth. They create a space that’s inclusive, non-judgmental, and FUN. I’ve seen huge shifts in both my physical strength and my confidence since starting here.

If you’re looking for a place to move, heal, grow, and be in community with other powerful women, I can’t recommend Sisters in Motion enough. It’s become a vital part of my life and well-being.

My friend organized an 8 person pole party here and we had so much fun! Also we love Maya! She created such a supportive, playful space for us. After a gorgeous, flowy warm up we learned some pole tricks, choreo, and had the chance to perform for each other and cheer each other on in smaller groups. The whole class felt so dynamic and it’s just so fun to have an opportunity for guided movement with friends. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to move their body and feel free.

I found the lack of space (only 5 poles) to be disheartening. Sharing a pole isn’t unheard of, but I felt like I didn’t get enough time or individualized attention. I also noticed that no one was recording themselves, which I found odd. I like to track my progress, but I was told I could only record if no one else was in the frame, which is nearly impossible in a full class. However, my biggest issue with this place is the pricing and sales tactics. They push hard for an expensive annual membership ($700 upfront + $209 every 4 weeks) for only two classes a week. There are larger studios that offer more space, freedom, and flexibility. This place isn’t worth the cost IMO

SIM is a very unique pole dance studio where you are encouraged to focus on movement that feels good to your body instead of focusing on how you look in your movement (there are no mirrors). This place is very special to me as it’s a space where I can truly unplug after a long day of work and leave feeling rejuvenated. The studio has amazing teachers who teaches with so much heart and are very supportive. This movement is much more than just pole dancing and how you choose to experience it is entirely up to your choosing. Thank you to everyone at SIM who has created and continues to hold this safe and judgement free space while honoring the fact that we are all on our own unique journeys.

I’ve been a member for a year, I came curious about connecting with my feminity and sensuality and I’m staying for the community of amazing women and the personal growth I’ve seen in and out of the studio. Such a supportive community of women where I feel comfortable to not only express myself, but also explore beyond anything I thought i was capable of. Thank you for existing πŸ’•

My experience at Sisters in Motion was excellent! I really appreciated Jennie's guidance and care throughout my orientation class. She is graceful, powerful, patient, and encouraging. I also loved all the language around expanding, taking up space, and touching our bodies as we moved. Their focus on female empowerment through movement and community is so vital.

There are two types of activities in life: energy draining vs energy charging. Energy draining is that feeling when you respond to an email that annoys you to the bone; energy charging is what's left after a soul-satisfying brunch with friends. Let me tell you, my experience at Sisters in Motion has been nothing short of 100% energy charging and soul-fulfilling.

Walking through the doors of Sisters in Motion isn't just stepping into a room with poles; it's like entering a space where strength is built, confidence soars, and you're surrounded by a community of supportive women who just get it. The vibe here? It's all about unlocking my potential.

The strength-building aspect is phenomenal. The routines challenge my body in ways I never thought possible, sculpting muscles I didn't know existed. It's not just a workout; it's my journey to discover the powerhouse within.

Beyond the physical, Sisters in Motion is a haven for confidence building. The instructors create an environment where I feel not just accepted, but celebrated for who I am. Every spin and twirl becomes a testament to my growing confidence.

What truly sets this place apart is the sense of community. Surrounded by like-minded women on a similar journey, I'm not just learning to dance; I'm forming connections that extend beyond the studio. The encouragement, shared victories, and camaraderie make Sisters in Motion a community like no other.

In a world full of energy-draining activities, Sisters in Motion is my go-to for that boost of energy charging positivity. It's not just a dance studio; it's a sanctuary where strength is built, confidence soars, and a community of supportive women flourishes. Here, every spin becomes a step toward a stronger, more empowered me.

Sisters in Motion changes lives! It certainly changed mine. It's where I've learned to feel good in my body, and empowered in my sensuality. If you are considering taking a class, DO IT! It's the best. I am grateful this studio came into my life. <3

I consider Wednesdays to be my sacred personal time. The middle of the week has historically been a challenge for me, but now I get to start it off with my class at Sisters in Motion. I am transformed every time I come to class and have been sustained by the community of gorgeous, supportive, and fiercely sensual women. There are no mirrors or clocks and I have the opportunity to consistently drop into my body and just feel. I get to strap my brain to the back seat (sometimes with a ball gag). I can’t think of any other place that offers this kind of sensual movement meditation and community practice and I encourage anyone who is curious to go all the way there.

This pole studio is unlike any others! I’ve been going for 7 years and it’s been life changing. Yes you learn pole but you also learn the magic and power of your feminine body and curves. The community of women at the studio is incredible. It’s a safe sacred place to explore erotic embodiment through dance and pole. I’m an eternally grateful for this practice and community

This studio is actively changing my life as a woman.

I came to the studio through a friend who shared with me that she was in an "erotic dance group for women". Little did I know when I arrived, it was pole dancing! I met with Kerry Anne for a private orientation and was open to the movement and my body LOVED IT.

It's been 3 months since and my main teacher, Brianne, is just an incredible gem and goddess. This class is the only place I feel safe to explore and play with my sexual energy in the safety of other women who are all cheering me and my beauty on as I cheer on theirs. With each dance class, I am slowly shedding the layers of judgment on myself and others, that my body "needs" to look a certain way to show up and dance like this. When I see how beuatiful the other women are, I see more of my beauty too. And it's a gift and a privilege to witness and support these women in their dance!

I feel more confident and more open in my erotic body than I ever have in my whole life. And I'm having so much FUN!!!! in the process!! Thank you Kerry Ann, Brianne, Rio, Whitney, Theresa, Maya, and all the staff and students at Sisters in Motion. This place is a literal Goddess temple and I'm blessed to be a part of it.

I had a great time! The instructor Megumi was experienced, interesting and encouraging! I learned a lot of moves and that adapting moves was okay. For example, I can’t put any pressure on my knees so I began to do something different when knees were involved.

I signed up for a full annual program and have been taking classes for a few weeks now (Level 1/2). This is NOT a dance studio, this is NOT a pole dancing school. This is a healing place for all women. I come here to reconnect with my sensuality, to feel my higher self, to love and accept my whole self. I cannot say enough about the instructors and staff at S Factor SF. Thso far. The community is so welcoming and accepting.

Very disappointed. The initial β€œsuggestion” from the instructor (with red, hair, she did not formally introduce herself) was that we should take a intro class due to our inexperience (it was a level one class). Then we informed the instructor were experienced dancers and we traveled a long way for a girls night out. The receptionist then went to inform the instructor of this. While she was gone another instructor informed us she thought we were perfectly capable and was not aware of what was causing the concern (she was great). The receptionist returned then the new concern was that it was company policy which was not initially stated. Can’t say what necessarily caused this behavior but the instructor with red hair made us feel very uncomfortable and undervalued .

Very dissatisfied with the service provided at Sisters in motion. My cousins and I went in super excited about the class, to end up very disappointed on the discriminatory customer service. From the start the approach was off, the instructor failed to formally introduce herself. Instead she felt it was okay to make suggestions about our experience instead of encouraging us to still give it a try. They tried to make it seem like there was a policy for first comers but never showed any proof as confirmation.

(4.5 stars) The overall ethos of body positivity and self love is wonderful here. It shows in the enthusiasm of the teachers, the non-judgemental environment, and even the way the studio is designed (no mirrors and dim lighting foster an environment to focus on yourself and the way your body feels through the movement). It shows in the way teachers encourage their students to support one another and cheer each other on. I couldn't give a full 5 stars because classes are not really accessible to people of most financial backgrounds, and I feel that people of underprivileged situations would benefit from the therapy of S Factor more than anyone else. I hope that Sheila Kelley will consider future programs tailored to these populations.

I have been taking classes at S Factor for over a year, and it has become a passion for me. Kerry Anne and Jenny created an atmosphere filled with sisterly love. The teachers are all warm and encouraging. The lessons are a perfect mixture of warm up, conditioning, technical pole and dancing. S Factor is for any age, any physical ability, any shape or size... all women are welcome. There are no mirrors, the lights are dim, and it feels very safe for any newcomer. This is so much more than pole dancing...this is becoming empowered in your femininity, rejoicing in the female spirit, and finding your sensuality.
