This place heals your soul. I am very grateful to have met so many beautiful people here and to have had the opportunity to participate in the programs/workshops they offer. My personal fav was the 'Basic Neuroscience of Chronic Pain' workshop. If you are in LA, be sure to visit and experience it yourself.

This place is a true healing sanctuary. The food is delicious and healthy. The yoga
Is fantastic. The house is a beautiful Madison with deep character. The aryuvedic
Treatments are so relaxing and good. And the staff is so warm and welcoming. It’s a wonderful place for a retreat, a yoga class, to share a meal with community, or to expand your soul with diverse educational programs. There is something for everyone here. I always leave feeling refreshed and inspired!

I have been here for three weeks for a retreat, it’s a great time to talk with swami and practice everyday. When there is an opportunity to remove the ignorance in mind, there comes the intelligence.

I have spent almost a week in Sivananda Yoga Retreat, LA. Beautiful place and felt the peace in every inch of the retreat. Swamiji and the staff are very friendly and they treated me so preciously and very gentle and respectful. The yoga classes were very well taught. They have one on one sessions and also they have a massage room. Interiors and exteriors are super clean all the time. Plenty of space to take walk in the backyard and just beautiful trees and plants which were well maintained. The food was delicious and the kitchen was very welcoming. I was able to attend cooking class which was great. I highly recommend this retreat if one wants to recharge, relax and experience the inner peace. Fell in love with the place and people. Looking forward to go again and attend the various events.
Great people, great vibes, great ambience, everything was super amazing. ❀️❀️❀️
Thank you for everything Swamiji and the staff. πŸ™πŸ™

I'm celebrating 27 years of my hatha yoga practice thanks to SYVC. I began in NYC in Chelsea during my time as a student at F.I.T., then Yoga Warehouse in Fort Lauderdale, and now LA. I started at their previous Marina Del Rey location and now to this majestic retreat in West Adams. There is one factor in my life which is constant to heal the mind, body, alignment, and being out of all of the yoga studios in the world and there are so many ~ however, it's here: at the Sivananda. Change is here.

I recently spent a weekend here. It was just what I needed to recharge and reset. The ashram is beautiful, peaceful, and every part of the house exudes peace and love. Both swamis were kind and welcoming. The yoga classes are traditional Sivananda. I loved them. I enjoyed each morning where attendees would meditate together at sat sang and then we would chant. The energy created in the satsang regulated my nervous system each time. If you want a weekend of true rest, come to the la ashram!

The place is located at a very nice neighborhood in LA. It is still peaceful with all the horns honking on the busy roads, but it does transfer you to a whole new dimension. The place has some random stuff collected by Swami on display, which is nice but I am not sure of the authenticity. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and ready to make accommodations for you even out of their control. It was a pleasant experience overall :)

I had a wonderful stay at the center, the Swami and her supporting team, are knowledgeable, kind and wonderful guides in all the practices. I arrived at a time of deep grief in need of some space and time. I received all of that and more from the people, the center the environment of peace that is and around the center.
I quarantined on arrival to keep all safe and well at this time. My quarantine actually became a beautiful and unexpected start to my stay, a lovely room, a place to meditate and space for Yoga reading eating, you have access to all the centers programs on line, Yoga Meditation Satsang, workshops. There was a lovely light flooding in every day and direct access to the outside space at the center where you will find the yoga deck, the gardens that hold space for fruit giving flowering trees, a very amusing nut busting squirrel, birds singing, a real oasis of calm and rest. During my quarantine I was delivered three healthy beautiful meals a day, which nourished my body and mind, I am home now and I just made one of the Prana bursting soups that was prepared for me in the center, a new firm favorite now, I received a gift of time, to go in, inside me.
Thereafter I joined inside and outside on the deck the offerings from the center to further support my healing. I will certainly be returning to the center

A sanctuary in the middle of LA. Beautiful outdoors and indoors spaces with a very peaceful vibe. Will definitely visit again and perhaps attend a weekend retreat.

There is something so calming as soon as you set food on the land at Vedanta. The wind blows through the trees and you let out a sigh of the busy and hectic life of these days. The programs held here take you deeply and nourishingly into yourself. They are held with the utmost reverence as time-honored tradition meets the realities and needs of those of us in the west. Reminding us of the power we carry within us when we slow down and tune in. The absolutely luxuriously accommodations carry you further into relaxation, while the absolutely delicious vegetarian cooking bring warmth and satisfaction to your body. Deepak Swarup who oversees the grounds and the programs welcomes you with radiance, wisdom, and humor. And you feels so held by the magic of it all. The hiking is so beautifully meditative on the 24 acres of land, with more available with the sequoias nearby. And soaking in the natural public hot springs facility down the road is not to be missed! Deeply restorative to body!

This isn't a random yoga studio. Instead, it's a historical and traditional yoga training center and community.

I have been practicing yoga for over ten years. However, this is the first place for me to truly learn how to do each pose correctly.

The staff is very welcoming, caring, experienced, and really commits to teaching pure and classical yoga.

I did the Sivananda teacher training 28 years ago in India, but lapsed in my practice. I found myself in LA for a month and decided to hire an instructor from the Sivananda Center in LA.

The style of yoga was exactly the same as I'd learned nearly three decades ago. This is the real deal. I was tired of yoga classes in the US and Canada that are almost exclusively Vinyasa Flow. I don't want to work up a sweat and be completely exhausted at the end of each class. The Sivananda approach emphasizes breathwork and finding the balance between exertion and relaxation. At age 54, I'm not interested in yoga-aerobics!

The staff at the center, particularly Director Karuna Devi, as well as Gopita and Iswara are extremely kind and knowledgable. I was welcomed with open arms to their holiday season celebration and have had only positive and warm interactions at the center and during my private instruction.

The center provides an attractive and welcoming space for yoga practice.

If you want a yoga practice that does not include endless sequences of 'downward facing dog' taught by a 21-year old who philosophizes about life while you are sweating buckets, this is your place. Sivananda yoga provides a healthful, spiritual practice that is straight-forward and consistent.

Thank you, Karuna Devi, Gopita and Iswara for bringing yoga back into my life.

Very peaceful place, people are so nice and friendly, they give the first class free and each session is $15 for one and half hour which has meditation in beginning and yogasna. Thanks so much for spreading the message of love and peace through body and soul!
