I’ve taken all kinds of classes at Skybound!! Lyra, Silks, Hammock, and just recently took a Tiny Hoop workshop!!

I love the atmosphere here and everyone has been so supportive no matter what class, and no matter what age! Everyone who takes a class here is here to learn and enhance their skills. Or learn new ones!!

See you in the air!! :)

We discovered Skybound Aerial Arts Collective over a year ago. My daughter and several of her friends love taking classes here. The instructors are wonderful and very engaging. We even threw my daughter’s last birthday party there and it was a huge success. I highly recommend trying this silk studio, you won’t regret it.

Skybound is an amazing aerial gym!! They have extra high ceilings and very well trained, knowledgeable instructors. The community is amazing and I’m very thankful to be a part of it!

I can’t say enough good things about Skybound! As someone with zero gym or dance background—and definitely no ability to do the splits—I was a little nervous to try an aerial gym. But from my very first class, I felt completely welcomed and supported.

The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and make sure you’re learning safely at your own pace. The small class sizes give you lots of individual attention, and the atmosphere is fun, encouraging, and totally non-intimidating.

Best of all, it doesn’t feel like a workout—it’s just so much fun! I leave every class feeling stronger, more confident, and excited for the next one. Highly recommend Skybound to anyone, no matter your fitness level or experience!

I’ve been to aerial silks studios all over San Diego county and this one is my favorite because of the kind and knowledgeable instructors, clean studio, emphasis on safety, small class sizes, and reasonable pricing.

Though this business is relatively new, the people running it and teaching it are not. I've taken both aerial hammock/sling and aerial silks classes here, and what I really love about the structure of their classes is that they have 4 rig points with 8 students max enrollment, which means if the class is full, there are two groups that take turns going up, which is great for taking rest breaks (and watching the 1st group if you need extra demos) and it doesn't overstretch the instructor's attention. I've seen classes at other studios where there are so many students going up at once, and it's very clear that the instructor can't watch out for everyone, which is a safety issue, especially if it's with young kids.

Class usually starts with warm-up stretches and conditioning exercises, then 2-4 sequences/tricks with the instructor demo-ing twice before you go up and try it. You get a couple rounds of practicing it before the instructor moves on to the next sequence, and at the end, you have time to review anything you learned in class. I like this because it keeps the class from becoming boring, and if you want to spend more time practicing a particular move, you can always come to open gym, where they don't teach you new things, but will help you review things in a safe environment. Also, if you are consistent enough with attending classes, those tricks or similar tricks will rotate through again.

There are snacks/drinks you can buy if you're too busy/forgot to fuel up before class. There is a water bottle fill station (and drinking fountain), and one restroom. The only disadvantage is, when other gym classes are going on, you have to walk around outside and go back in from the other side to use the restroom. They have really high ceilings, enough to do a triple star, with thick crashmats on the floor. They also have cell phone stands that you can place around to film yourself, which I find especially helpful in learning body awareness or remembering sequences for practice later on.

Specific teachers that I've regularly taken classes with and who are wonderful, kind, and talented: Susan, Lauren P, Jeny, Daisy, Caroline, and Julie.

I have been taking classes and lessons for quite a few months by now, which started before they moved and reopened at this location. The instructors are all very nice, and I am very happy and sincerely grateful that I can keep doing this exercise.
