Classes are fun and engaging, the martial art coaches are great trainers who care.
However, do not sign up for the 6-week bootcamp. When I was talking about signing up they made it seem like they would be there and help me accomplish my goals but really they're just reading off a script in order to get you to sign up. Because the moment I signed up I never got anyone to check up on me again. All they care about is getting you to sign up that initial time.
It's up to you to go to classes and stick to the meal plan but if they're promoting a thing like a 6-week bootcamp where you'll "get rid of the dad bod" I figured they would be more involved with you and give you more of a plan to lose it. Even the meal plan they give you isn't one they created but from some third party site. They are not involved with it in any way.
If you wanna go just to learn martial arts then great but if you're trying to hit some fitness goals, be prepared to be self-motivated.

This place is a scam.
All those 5 star reviews seem suspicious. Coaches aren't accommodating. They say classes are for beginners and experienced people, but they're not. If you're not in shape, you need conditioning. You need time to build. You don't need to be thrown into a crazy workout where you could hurt yourself just for the sake of saying you did it.
Front desk staff are trying to make a deal and get you to pay for an expensive membership, but don't really care about you as a person. It's one of those things where they'll pretend to be nice if you're a member and not care about you or try to win you over if you're not. Thank you, next!
Update: They scammed me out of my money and I never got a refund after they said they'd refund me for the trial period. Scam.

Smash gyms is a beginner and experienced friendly fitness and martial arts gym. The instructors are world class, easy to work with, and friendly. The other members are pleasant and helpful as well. Besides training in martial arts and fitness, I have made lots of friends. The atmosphere of this gym is more like a family. Great experience overall!!

I primarily attend the Sunnyvale locations but Smash rotates instructors and many students go to both locations.
Smash has great facilities (clean, brightly lit) and a friendly environment. The BJJ student base has a wide range of ages and a good mix of men and women of different sizes and athletic abilities, from strictly recreational practitioners to dedicated competitors. The instruction is terrific and its a very fun place to learn BJJ.
The strength and conditioning and kettlebell classes are top notch and very fun. I'd highly recommend trying it out.

Great fun way to get or stay in shape. Classes are the best way for me to workout and I enjoy kickboxing, yoga, and U-Jam. The classes are always different so I never tire of them. I always leave there with more energy and feeling better than when I came in.
