Dirty business practices. Make you purchase a glass to join a waitlist, pull you from waitlist in the middle of the night. Classes expire in a month - not even sure that’s legal

I love this studio!!! I tried my first solidcore class here and felt supported but still challenged the entire time. I tried out a few others in the area but I love the coaches here & the validated parking in the garage gives me enough time to take class and grab a coffee. Anything I’ve needed from the studio staff, they have always been accommodating and it felt like only after a few visits, they knew me by name already. Highly recommend!

Place has gone downhill. Not sure if they have new management or something, but they’ll charge you on some BS fine print “policy” with classpass and you’ll have to work with a difficult offshore customer service rep to rectify a situation that leaves you double paying for a mid ass workout.

I recommend going to another location I hear the one in marina is cool or find another studio all together. There’s like 50 in Santa Monica that won’t give you this kind of headache.

Cheers

My only complaint is I love these classes but there’s so much talking from instructors…. Like nonstop… Would love more music and moments of just focus.

I wish I could give them less than a 1 star review. My wife and I have been going here for well over a year and as of late they have been terribly unaccommodating with their classes and they dont seem to value customers that have spent a lot of time and money at their studios taking classes. Its unfortunate, because its so easy to be nice a bit accommodating. My advise, find another place to do your pilates.

I love this studio. The workout never gets easy, even after 50 classes. If you are new to reformer Pilates— highly recommend taking a beginner class as the normal class moves extremely fast and there are no cued breaks. The music is loud, but if you wear earplugs (provided), it should be fine and I’ve never had issues hearing the instructors. Coach Anthony pays the most attention to detail. Coach Kristina is my absolute favorite bc she’s so tough and kind at the same time — her music is unbeatable. I have always found the studio clean. Unfortunately there are no showers and you will get sweaty. Truthfully, this is the only Pilates studio I have found on the west side that I know will deliver a consistent great workout and it is always 50 min on the dot! Aesthetically I have seen results and it has really helped with other aspects of my fitness regimen to engage my core more.

The absolute BEST and hardest/worth it workout! I never had abs until I started going to solidcore. It takes a month or two to build up strength to do the moves properly but it gets easier the more you do it. Location is great! Staff is amazing! There's an easy parking deck and they validate.

Nice studio with amazing staff! They’re all so friendly and helpful. Pilates isn’t always for me, but when I’m in the mood I go to Solidcore. They’re a great part of the community.

While initially it was challenging and a bit daunting to learn the moves in the class, I felt supported by the instructors and their ability to demonstrate & break down the transitions so that I could flow with the exercises.
After a few classes, I noticed changes in my physical body and in my strength. Classes are challenging in the best way possible, and the dynamic movements combined with attention to slow, intentional effort really hits those deeper muscle groups!

As with any new exercise program, it takes some time to explore & discover which teachers are a good fit for you! Try more than one class before deciding if it’s for you or not- I promise it’s worth it!

I've done a few Solid Core classes before (spread out over a few years and whenever I travel to a city that has a location) and consider myself fairly athletic but man Solid Core always kicks my butt when I come back to it. This is a SERIOUS workout and humbles you so quickly when you already need a break after the warmup! Appreciate the options for modifications balanced with encouragement to hold longer to get stronger. I had a class with Izzy for my first class at this location and this was probably the hardest one I've done before! Guaranteed soreness!

Caley was a dope instructor who gave the perfect amount of instruction and encouragement for beginners and OGs. Definitely recommend. The playlist was fire.

I really wanted to like the studio and truly believe it can be a great and effective workout. However, after attending multiple classes and trying different instructors, I can say that only Coach Anthony has made the experience enjoyable.

The music is usually too loud, making it very difficult to hear the instructions. It seems the brand encourages coaches to talk nonstop, and they tend to speak very quickly, which is hard to follow. With the demanding movements, this can be a little dangerous, as I’ve noticed instructors not paying attention to us—standing with their backs to the class and reciting instructions without monitoring our form. The microphone audio is not great either, sometimes making it sound more like mumbling.

Additionally, there’s no sock policy, and the platform is not properly cleaned, as shown in the picture. I would also suggest that instructors provide more demonstrations during class, as there are currently almost none.

I would really appreciate it if the instructors could slow down and pay more attention to the class instead of just memorizing their lines.

Again, I enjoyed Coach Anthony’s classes; he articulates the instructions well and corrects people’s form. I felt taken care of when attending his classes.

I've gone to the other Solidcore locations in LA and this one is one of my favorites! Kriz was the coach and did a fantastic job pushing me to my limits! I left feeling AMAZING (like a runners high) and will definitely be back. Such good bang for your buck- 50min workout that is equivalent to a 2 hour workout

A friend of mine told me about Solidcore after I mentioned it to her, I noticed they were on ClassPass. She said she saw a change in her body and that the workouts at Solidcore made her much stronger. On ClassPass, one session here cost me 14 credits (!), so I'm guessing they are highly recommended and requested by the fitness community.

I scheduled a session for Sunday at 8 a.m. with Anthony. This wasn’t the beginner class, but still, I could do most of the movements with Anthony helping me adjust the Pilates reformer machine. He mentioned that they offer a beginner class where the instructor cues the breaks, the lights are on, and they take it slow.
Even if you are in good shape, you will find Solidcore workouts to be challenging. I can definitely see how it could make your muscles stronger, toned, and defined.

Overall, it was a great experience, Anthony was motivating and very helpful. He is new to the studio, so give him a try!

The workout I’ve been hunting for.

I’ve been fairly active my entire adult life.
I’ve tried almost every possible group fitness class out there - Zumba, Barry’s, SoulCycle, Yoga, & HIIT.

While each of those workouts got me sweating and feeling like I worked out, I never got the results I’d been looking for, despite consistently showing up and eating healthily.

I’ve always known I wanted to target my abs, glutes, and hamstrings. For some reason, no amount of squats, cycling, and traditional sit-ups got me as sore as a single Solidcore class.

These classes target those muscles with precision. Even though the movements are slow and controlled I find myself drenched in sweat as if I had done an intense cardio session.

This is the first time I’ve felt the kind of pleasant soreness that comes from exercising a weak muscle, and it is what I’ve been almost desperately seeking since I first felt it in high school.

With that being said, this class does require quite a bit of mind muscle connection and a focus on form. So I’d recommend doing this if you’re not self conscious of how you ‘look’ when working out. Because it will make you feel/look oddly contorted until your body because used to the movements.

If you’ve got good form and a strong range of motion, this class would probably be a breeze for you. But if you’re struggling to build that form. Definitely get this class into your exercise regimen

A nice perk is that all of the instructors I’ve taken provide excellent motivation, guidance, and readjust your form to optimize your time in the room.

Terribly difficult to access, go to one of the numerous pilates studios around instead. Heck, I’ve even been to the Culver city location without any issues. I even called 10 mins prior to the start to class and nobody bothered to answer.

They make you use a lockbox to get in the door and you are only able to access the code via a special app.

Directions from their confirmation are awful because they don’t want to say they’re next to F45. Instead they list the businesses on the other side of F45 and across the street.

Solidcore is the only workout I’ve been consistently going to for years. I was so happy they opened in LA! Never had a bad class. Fav instructors are Kriz, Maggie and Connel. Taking one star because recently, the experience with new instructors varied. I’m sure teaching has a steep learning curve! So totally understandable. The good instructors focus on the sequencing, the right situations with the muscle group and timing. While the newer instructors are energetic and have all kinds of inspirational quotes, it felt that they prioritized what to say instead of preparing the actual sequence and timing.

This new location looks highly promising. Am very excited to try once it is finally opened. From the construction progress and decor it seems like it will be a clean, fun, and friendly location to work your core with the brand’s unique pilates-inspired approach. Will update once am able to check out the class but looks-wise seems awesome!
