Coach Fernando is AMAZING; he’s knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about overall health (mental and physical).

My younger son is a teen athlete who is doing an asymmetric sport. He likes to train with someone who is seasoned and wise in injury prevention, his daily diet, and streamlined smart, efficient and effective workouts while bringing out his best self.

Fernando’s encouragement, experience, and kind nature can help anyone who is rehabbing, training, and/or taking up a new hobby.

This new location is quiet, safe, spacious, and comfortable; plus, there’s ample parking outside.

*duplicate post on Yelp-there are 3 entrances/exits to gym

Started boxing at this gym since Jan 2025 and have been consistently coming every week. For great reasons too, Coach Fernando, Danny, Erica, and Leon are all awesome. They've built a community here with people constantly striving to be better not just at boxing but with our mindset. All ages are welcome, and I learn something new with every class I attend here. I've recommended this gym to friends and family and a lot of them have stuck around as well. Really happy to be a member here!

My nephew loves Nando and his classes. He is about15 now but went here when he was younger. We are going to get back into it soon, but highly recommend this place for both adults and kids. They are great with the kids.

Review from a parent here. Coach Fernando is the real deal. He’s not only an amazing trainer, but just a genuinely good person. Super down to earth, easy to talk to, and really cares about the kids and families he works with. My son trained with him and learned so much, not just boxing technique, but discipline, confidence, and how to push himself in a positive way.

Even after moving to a new location at 298 Lawrence Ave (South City), the classes are still top notch. You can tell Fernando puts a lot of thought and effort into everything he does. He’s also really responsive, always quick to answer questions, and makes you feel like your kid matters - not just another face in the gym. He builds a great vibe that feels like a real community.

Solis boxing was an awesome experience! I was traveling for work in South San Fran and wanted to get a workout in while there and I searched up a few gyms and came across Solis boxing. I was staying close to the airport, therefore location was super convenient. The coaches are super approachable, comprehensive, and passionate. I'm grateful Solis boxing opened their doors for a traveler (New Yorker) to a drop in class and get some movement going. Anyone that's on the fence on whether trying it out, do it! Will certainly be coming through any time in back in SF and will be recommending to my colleagues in the Bay. Thank you again 5:30am crew!!

One of the best boxing coaches in the Bay Area. I primarily do Muay Thai and Fernando has done a great job of adapting to what I need for boxing in Muay Thai. There's a reason why he's called the Mexican Miyagi.

I have been training at a few boxing gyms, in the past 6 years.. from HitFITsf, Third Street Boxing, Evolve Gym.. to name them.. Solis has a large facility with many bags to work on, and solid equipment to help strengthen your Boxing game. My 3 boys, ages 10, twins are 7 have gained a lot of boxing fundamentals with Fernando Solis, and he encourages them to be better, without "breaking them down." I am excited to see them grow on their boxing journey...

They call him the Mexican Miyagi for a reason! Coach Fernando incorporates strength training and punching drills that will help you understand how they are applicable to boxing. There tons of equipment from kettle bells, medicine balls, mace bars, club bells, heavy bags, uppercut bags.. you'll learn how to use all of them! Every class is different so you'll learn something new everyday. He and his team of trainers are dedicated to teaching normal people like me learn and love the sweet science.

From day 1 the Solis Boxing community welcomed me with open arms. There is a real family feel to this gym. My only regret is that I should have joined years ago. Good coaches help you become a better player. Great coaches help you become a better person. Solis Boxing @ Physique Magnifique has plenty of Great coaches.

Solis boxing is perfect for people wanting to learn boxing in an old school setting. The gym might look rough around the edges but they have good equipment and expert staff. The coaches know their stuff and are great at coaching beginners to advanced levels. They also offer classes in separate batches for teens, women and also offer open classes which suit a wide range of audience. If you're looking for a no BS boxing gym, then this is highly recommended. Added bonus, it shares premises with a fitness center and weightlifting/ powerlifting gym, so you can workout there as well.

Best boxing gym I’ve been to , I’ve been training off and on for about six years, and been a member at about four gyms all over the city and San Bruno throughout my journey.
Solis boxing gym is by far the best one yet .
Definitely old-school boxing aesthetics but with all the best new American made Grodex equipment.
It’s got a family feel to the gym small and intimate, and the trainers are well rounded, and very knowledgeable , informative.
Definitely five stars

Walked in and was immediately captivated by the prestine condition of this boxing gym. Official and top quality Grodex boxing bags of various shapes, boxing rings, and strength and conditioning area.
The coaching staff is extremely professional and well equipped for business professionals, kids, teens, and adults.
Really appreciate coach Fernando and coach Danny for the time they spent adjusting my fundamentals. They also have a women's boxing program.
