They have very nice equipment and a good variety. Other members are very respectful. I love that it is not crowded.

If you're thinking of joining this Mill Valley location, think twice. The previous reviews do not reflect Sonoma Fit since the new ownership began in April 2023. Where do I even begin... This gym is one giant mess. Even from the start, signing up for a membership was sketchy. They want your checking account information for a direct payment only and they don't accept credit cards. The video on the website misrepresents the actual studio in Mill Valley. Mill Valley location is tiny and stuffy. Their equipment is mostly really old and dated. Since there is no in-person sign up, there is no welcome, no facility tour or any kind of orientation for a new member. Also there is no card to scan in. At least nothing was given to new members. Half the time there is no one at the reception. You could probably just walk in and use the gym for free even if you're not a member. They rarely answer the phone either. This gym is obviously understaffed and mismanaged. Even their group classes are not reliable. One time I showed up to a class that I enrolled in and no one was at the class including the instructor. Another time I went there at 5pm to work out during the week only to find out the gym had been closed early. There was a note on the door saying "Sorry, it's temporarily closed." What kind of business is this? A corner liquor store? No matter how frustrated you are, there is no one to talk to. It looks like the club manager they listed on their website has already left the company, which doesn't surprise me. Since this gym is so broken, I simply decided to stop my month to month membership. When I called their 3rd party billing company to cancel, they told me that I'm on the hook for another 30 days. This business is a scheme. There is no one I could talk to raise concerns either. I even called the Novato location trying to talk to any manager, but the front desk girl (her name is Jacey) was extremely rude and toxic. Not only she didn't let me talk to anyone else other than her, but also told me that there was nothing wrong with closing the gym without notice due to their staffing problem. She basically told me that I was the problem. Because the conversation was going nowhere, I hung up. And guess what. She called me back to continue to argue and yell at me for hanging up on her. Her giving zero f* to her client made my blood boil. Not only she didn't hesitate to raise her voice to her customer, but even went further by mixing f words in her sarcastic remarks. This was the worst customer service at another level which I have never experienced. Even if they go out and grab anyone off the street to answer the phone, it can't get any worse than having her. I hope the owner of the gym sees this review, but I doubt he'll even care. Sonoma Fit keeps expanding without managing their business, which makes me wonder if this is some kind of money laundering business. In short, if you sign up for this gym, you're on the hook for minimum two months whether you like it or not because of their 30 day cancellation notice policy, which is hidden somewhere on their website. So good luck!

The club has a relaxed atmosphere but members are able and encouraged to push themselves to their ability. The facilities are comprehensive and well maintained without pretenses. With many classes offered, it is easy to find a good fit. The club is not crowded so varied self-workouts are easy to accomplish without any wait or stress. The location is convenient and the club size is large enough to not be limiting but also small enough to be comfortable. The club has provided good options for staying in shape and sane through the COVID time. Body Kinetics in Mill Valley is a positive part of my life.

I like the group fitness classes, especially cardio sculpt and HIT. The teachers always show up on time, with a well-laid out plan for the class. The facilities are clean and well organized, and the ladies' locker room is always clean with an array of nice supplies. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Sometimes hard to cancel membership (have to talk to the right person at the right time), but if you call and talk to them, they will reimburse you for any membership fees you have an issue about. This place is not half-bad. Gym itself is somewhat small for the price, but the equipment is new, locker-room is high-quality, and there are plenty of classes/exercise sessions to participate in, which are included in the price.
Thanks for reimbursing me for those past months, 10/10 customer service rating.

I'm really enjoying being a member here. The staff and clients are friendly and recognize me, the ladies' dressing room is clean and well equipped, and the gym equipment is up-to-date and kept in good working order. I didn't think I'd care about complimentary towel service, but I find that I really like it and use it every time. Nutritional coaching groups have helped me to lose weight. But what I enjoy the most is the group fitness classes, particularly Zumba, Pilates mats, Cardio Blast, yoga, and Stretch and Core. I go to as many as 7 classes a week.

I have been going here since I started pilates 4 years ago. The instructors are great and they have 8 reformers so there is always one available when I want to work out on my own. They offer good mat classes.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Got to try pilates reformer class for free - amazing! I just wish I could afford to keep taking them - too pricey! (on par with all other studios - just too pricey for me :)
Their regular pilates mat classes are also great - best I have been to - the teachers (especially Lily) give one on one feedback and correction commentary. Incredibly helpful.
The gym itself has everything gyms usually do, and some other newer fun (okay ... that's my opinion ... maybe useful is a more common word) equipment to spice up a workout routine.
I hope someday to be able to afford to keep coming back - right now my groupon thirty days is up, and while I love this gym, I can't afford both the 99$ initiation fee and the monthly fee. (again ... not unusual, just too much for me).

Body Kinetics is a great local gym with wonderful, friendly staff. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The locker room is nice and clean and well stocked with towels and EO products. Classes can be crowded, but everyone tries to be accommodating about space. Convenience is a big factor for me and this gym is very easily accessible and parking is good - the lot in back is best for nights when the Cantina is busy.

I have been going to Body Kinetics for years, first for Pilates and weight training, sometimes yoga, now primarily for their spin classes (which are great because they have terrific instructors, it's a fun group of spinners and we chat and joke around while also doing serious spin training -- and it's 'outdoors'! (in a good way-- a roof and walls that on three side--about shoulder height while spinning--open to the roof, with heat lamps on chilly days before we get warmed up).
Can't imagine ever going back indoor spinning.

I love going to MV Body Kinetics, and wish I could get there more often. For classes, I have mostly attended yoga, and love Sutat's 8am Sat morning class. Peck Ford's yoga and Laura Greco's Sat stretch class are great too. I have worked with a few different trainers over the years, and found them to be helpful, personable and knowledgeable. I am a big fan of Joey for massage and wish my budget allowed more of them! The club is a little tight on floor space, so a busy time can be a bit challenging, but it all works out. I have rarely had to wait for weight machines, and always found a machine available for cardio, even if not always my first choice. They open at 5:30am weekdays, which gives me plenty of time to work out before work.

Body Kinetics in San Rafael took over the facility recently. Other than having no towels (consistently, first blamed on broken washer/dryers, then amended to "new towels on order" and now because of theft by members), the fact that neither the sauna nor the steam room (men's) have worked for more than a week, the fact that at least of three pieces of equipment have been non-functioning for a month, the fact that one of the three sinks (men) has been out of order for more than a month, the fact that new equipment has been "promised" (but not appeared) for several weeks to replace equipment which has been carted off, the fact that the "no cellphone usage" rule is never enforced, the fact that for a week the entrance was clogged with a "sale" of women's fashion (not workout wear) and jewelry...I could go on, but the club has become a disaster.
