If your looking for a new place to try please let this be it. I've only taken the beginner dance class with coco and one other teacher, but love it so much I can't wait to learn more and eventually join the other classes. The instructors are so kind, fun, and knowledgeable that it feels like a friend is giving a class. I also feel like the prices are super reasonable. $20 a class in today's economy feels like a steal.

This is an amazing dance studio to take classes at! From day 1 everyone is very welcoming and encouraging. Classes are fun, challenging in a good way, and the teachers provide modifications if needed. It's more than a dance studio, it's a great place to make friends and build community.

Soul on Fire is much more than a dance studio. I have found community in this safe space. Even more than Ellis Island, all are welcome here. Your age, ethnicity, body type, gender identity, who you choose to love, other abilities and super powers are all embraced here. This is where I make peace with my demons. This is where profound cathartic release and healing happens. This is where my heart rests. Thank you Ginger Fatale for building the space. Thank you Koko Knockout for supporting Ginger and being the cheerleader (more than one meaning). Thank you to all the Soul on Fire tribe for your support from night one. Now, let’s crash and burn.

My cousin and I loved the Latin Burlesque class with Frida. We had the best time ever. Frida is such a sexy and talented dancer. She was amazing at breaking down the routine, piece by piece. She taught many different moves that we had never done before and we looked darn good doing them! I had hip surgery recently, not only did she modified the moves, she gave great tips on how to make everything look and feel easy but yet sensual. Sexy dancing makes working out so much fun! I must say that I found more of my feminine power by taking this amazing class. Thank you Frida for believing in me and for your gift of encouragement. I am looking forward to many more classes with you!

Absolutely joyful end of season dance recital by Sakina Ibrahim's "Dance Arts Academy OC" young students. Jazz, hip hop, community. Had audience up and dancing, too.👏💞👯

I started dancing with SoF in January of last year, and very quickly became a massive fan. The routines are challenging at times, but the instructors are very good at what they do.

My first class was in person, and I was expecting to feel out of place, but I was welcomed with open arms by the instructor, as well as the other students. Soul On Fire has built a very welcoming environment, where no one feels overwhelmed or out of place.

I've done both in person and online classes, and there's benefits to both. The online classes are great for people that don't live in OC.

If you're looking for a place to call home, I'd recommend SoF.

My favorite place to move in Orange County! The variety of styles is excellent and the instructors are so warm and knowledgeable. Dance is for everybody and it truly feels like that here. Sexy dance, beginner dance, strength for dance, and so much more.

Dancing at Soul on Fire has truly made my life so much brighter. The instructors are always able to adjust their teaching to any level of dance. I’ve seen them work with students who are nervous brand new beginners, longtime dancers, and those who have a history of dance and took a long break like myself. My background is in competitive dance. After some really bad experiences with some instructors and classmates, I quit dancing for a while. I picked it back up in 2019, but the pandemic the year after put a stop to fully returning. With every up and down in life putting a wedge between me and dance, I experienced feeling very low confidence, stiff, and like I wasn’t a good enough dancer despite my almost 10 years of training. Soul on Fire changed that. I’ve never felt anything other than confident, happy, and content with myself after a class here. I was able to start slowly and as I gained confidence and my movement became more fluid, I was able to attend more advanced classes and learn skills I had never learned before. I also find the classes and teachers particularly accommodating for my neurodivergency, which is a HUGE plus for me. And outside of the dancing, I’ve also made so many friends here. Everyone at the studio is lgbt friendly, promotes body positivity, and is just genuinely a cool person. The studio really has just built an amazing community. I really honestly couldn’t ask for more.

I love this studio, and it is apparent the instructors and students feel the same. There is a great sense of community here. I'm a senior, and I've been taking the Saturday morning yoga class for over a year now. DW makes the class fun while continuously checking to see if we're doing the poses correctly. I can tell I'm stronger, but I decided an additional class would help me feel even better! I took Ginger's Stretch and Flex class last Tuesday and really enjoyed it. She asked if anyone had any problem areas, and constantly provided alternate stretches for the various levels of students. Ginger even explained how the different stretches were beneficial to our bodies, which I appreciated. I plan to go back every week. I have also taken Kat's Sip & Stretch and Candlelight Restore classes on Friday evenings and highly recommend those as well; they are very relaxing.
There is a great variety of classes here, come join us!

Just go for it! This is one of those life moments you’ll look back on and be glad you said “yes”!!

My first experience:
I was so nervous leading up to my first class (Beginning Burlesque). I had not danced since I was a little kid and was so nervous about not fitting in since I don’t have a “dancer’s body.” I arrived early and as soon as I opened the door Koko and Ginger welcomed me in with big happy smiles and eased my nervousness. Then the class began and well … it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Koko was great at breaking down the movements of the choreography to where anyone from any or no experience could follow but he also made the class so much fun with just positive energy, silliness, and inclusivity!

8 months later - yes, I waited 8 months to do this review because you know, life lol

Being a part of this studio has been so much more than I ever expected. Not only did it ignite my passion for dance, but I found a family I didn’t know I was missing. No matter what class you take, you’ll have a trained instructor who will be welcoming, funny and incredibly inclusive to make sure you feel comfortable.

For those with limitations/injuries:
Past knee and hamstring injuries mean I can’t always move in certain ways but I really appreciate that every teacher has made modifications to their choreography on the spot so I can continue to feel confident in my movements. And it’s done in a way that never makes me feel like I’m being singled out. If anything, they make it’s so all students feel comfortable and will also ask for modifications when needed.

If you’ve made it to the end of this long review, I hope you’ve read enough to be convinced to give this studio a try. My last piece of advice… go into these classes with an open mind, embrace the music and let go of anything holding you back. No one here is going to judge or compare you to anyone else. This studio is all about you exploring and feeling empowered, confident, and sexy!

Signed up for a class, and went to the burlesque evening class on June 12. Overall I was not impressed with the quality of instruction. I started dancing at 12 and actually was a burlesque performer for a while after college in Illinois. I thought it would be fun to revisit the medium after seeing some shows locally. I've been to other studios in LB and the instruction was MUCH more professional and less disjointed. I would suggest paying more attention to teaching dance and less social justice.

I am so in love with Soul on Fire Dance and everything it stands for. I have been Ginger's burlesque baby since 2019. Her classes have helped me to grow as a dancer and have also influenced my dance style with pole, bachata and Brazilian zouk. I look forward to many more performances with SoF!

Since the first moment I walked into this studio I felt welcomed and embraced. I have no dance experience at and I have never felt that it has held me back. They make sure you are in a safe place to be silly and powerful and help you discover who you are and can be through movement. I came to the studio because I wanted to cross dance classes off my bucket list and ended up finding a new passion within myself.

I've been taking Ginger's class since 2018. She consistently delivers great choreography and is always attentive to her students as she wants them to be successful. Besides great classes, Ginger regularly gives her students the chance to perform, which sets her studio apart from many others. There are many other awesome instructors with a wide variety of classes. There truly is something for everybody!

I've been taking classes from Ginger (the owner) of Soul on Fire for about 15 years. I followed her to a few studios over the years and I'm so excited that she finally has her own place. The studio is a great space in downtown Santa Ana. The staff and students are very friendly and whether it's your first class or you have been dancing for years, it's s a great place to have fun and learn. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from and the app is easy to use to sign up. I will keep coming back.

Making friends as an adult is SO HARD, but this studio makes it SO EASY. I never thought I’d say I would be so active at a dance studio. Let alone say that I have found a safe space to grow and better all aspects of my health! The variety is great and the hours are amazing for us 9-5ers.

I basically live at this studio. I love the instructors, the classes, the safe space to dance. They offer so many unique classes and opportunities to perform in shows. I’ve been taking classes with Ginger for a few years. She is my muse. It’s the highlight of my week and my personal therapy.

This dance studio is one of a kind.I took the Hatha flow and create with Debbie on a Saturday! Prior to this Saturday have done yoga once... 5 years ago! I felt so welcomed and loved. Everyone is really sweet and kind at the studio. There is literally no judgement here! They have something to offer no matter your level. With Debbie's class, you do yoga, she helps you with your poses, then at the end you do this beautiful art reflection. I left feeling so alive and my soul felt well. Highly recommend her class and I highly recommend this studio!! Everyone is awesome and you feel amazing just being there .
